I’m a genuine animal person.
From as long back as I can remember I’ve had pets of all kinds. I was the kid that brought strays home. I’m the person that an owner of a stubborn pet will say to “wow! They actually like you.” It’s hard for me to put into words how much I love animals. I have pets of my own and know how hard it is to trust others with them. I just want to help pets who have owners that need to go away for a bit feel safe in that change. And I want to give you peace of mind that your fur-babies are being taken care of. I’m here to help them and to help you. I’ve never lived a day without having a dog. I’ve cared for and watched over many dogs of my own, of family’s and of friend’s. Professionally I have walked for Wag! and continued on as a personal/private house and dog sitter for a couple who traveled on average once a month. I held this position for almost three years. I bonded with and stayed in their home with their dog consistently to maintain her routine when her owners were away. Growing up I’ve had dogs of many breeds and sizes. I take pride in my ability to connect and communicate with dogs and to understand their unique ways of communicating. I have a natural affinity for them. I find genuine joy in entertaining and caring for animals, and making them feel and comfortable and stable while you’re away. Feel free to reach out or request a free met-and-greet!

Alexis communicated well and truly understood our dogs and their unique personalities. She is very responsible and reliable and genuinely cares for their happiness. This is the second time we used Alexis for our 3 dogs and we would use her again.
Alexis took great care of our three dogs and our home. Our "problem" dog instantly bonded with her which is very unusual. Highly recommended.
Alexis was so good with Rico. He’s a German shepherd mix that we adopted and he’s afraid of his own shadow. She was patient with him and he warmed up to her throughout their stay together. She also sent lots of updates with photos and videos. Would definitely recommend.
The whole process was easy and my goldendoodle was very well taken care of by Alexis! After a meet-and-greet, Alexis stayed in our home for 3 days / 2 nights to take care of our dog. I received videos of her walking and playing everyday and she diligently followed all instructions that were left. Highly recommend Alexis!
Alexis watched our 3 dogs and took excellent care of them and our home. She was responsible, communicative and detailed oriented. Alexis played with them, cared for them and treated them with love. We came home to happy and healthy dogs and would not hesitate to recommend Alexis.

Schedule
I am a recent graduate working part time. I am able to easily accommodate in-home, over-night care. My job is 9-5 or 10-5 depending on the day, so the days I work I will be able to easily do morning and evening care routines, and if you’re close enough to my work place I can take long lunches for mid-day walks, check-ins, and potty breaks. The days I am off, I will be able to stay with them all day. I have flexibility with my schedule so given 2 weeks notice I can move my work schedule to have days off during my stay. Safety, trust & environment
When staying at a client’s house or even just stopping by for the day, I like to know the animal’s regular routine and will do my best to follow it. I do everything I can to bond with the animal and to gain their trust, showing them that I am not a threat. I will engage in anything they enjoy from snuggling, playing, walking etc. Whatever they need I will happily provide. As long as I have a clear description of their routine and needs I’m confident they will be happy and comfortable with me. I am uniquely skilled at connecting with animals of all kinds. I am able to determine their unique style of communication and abide by it. My speciality is in-home over-night stays. I will be work to maintain their regular routine.
Pets
A typical day
If your dog likes to walk I’ll walk them. If they like to snuggle, I’ll snuggle them. If they like to play fetch in the yard I will play fetch. I will not try and force your to go with me places away from the house or regular walks until we are all fully comfortable and acquainted. I will do all I can do with them in their comfort zone. If I ever get to the point with a client and their dog that the dog park or another location they enjoy becomes an option I would add that to the schedule but only with clear permission.

- I have cared for elderly dogs that have required frequent medication daily. So if your dog has any special needs I will be able to adapt. If they have special needs a print out of that schedule with phone numbers of neighbors that are helpful, their vet, etc along with videos going through any complex routine is very helpful.
