“David and his family are amazing with pets. But most of all my puppy Rome loves them. They take him to the park throughout the day and feed him on time. My puppy was well taken care of and I will be using them again.”

“Gina took great care of my dog, Charlie for the whole day. Charlie is usually anxious around new environments and needs a bit of extra attention, but Gina was very accommodating and provided very frequent updates that gave me peace of mind!”

“Abby is so wonderful and attentive to dog’s needs! I have been training my puppy to wait for the command to cross the street and I mentioned this to Abby when my puppy stayed with him. I could tell Abby was very consistent with the training as my puppy has been much better about not crossing the street without the ok. Poro loves spending time with Abby and he will definitely be back!”

“Hanah and Dabin are the best daycare provider I have met so far. They are friendly, responsible, and punctual. They took our Peanut for walks multiple times a day and sent us lots of pictures and updates. I truly appreciate the care and attention they gave him. I’d strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy daycare provider.”

“Chris is awesome! He came to my (and my dogs) rescue during the heat wave. My pups loved staying with him and his dogs. He was very attentive to their needs and asked a lot of questions about preferences and behaviors. I highly recommend him to care for your pups.”

“Mirna was fantastic and took great care of our puppy! We didn’t even have to ask for photos, videos or updates because she just sent them and it was definitely a great reassurance that he was in good hands. Her kids were great as well! Thanks Mirna”

“Highly recommend Lindy! She welcomed our close to 100lb 11mo old Dobermann toddler with a very last minute notice. Our pup really enjoyed spending time with her. She kept in touch with texts and photos. We were so glad to find her!! Definitely using her servive again!”
About: I've always adored dogs and have cared for them nearly my whole 50+ year life! From puppies to seniors. I work from home and LOVE to take walks with furry friends. I can fully care for them in my safe home or yours. I work 100% remote from my condo in San Clemente so I can take frequent breaks to care for your pup and also walk and play many times throughout the day. At night I devote great attention to pets because they make me so happy. My calendar is always up to date! I am very cautious and protective of my dogs; I will triple check safety and always care for your pet like he or she is my own.
“Another really amazing doggy daycare day! Alyssa and her fiancé are super amazing with our dog and we look forward to booking with them again in the future! She was very communicative and kind”

“Annie is a true professional; well organized, punctual, and has a genuine love of dogs. Moreover, she provided great photos of our Kimi during her stay. She is also personable and gracious when we ran overtime for our pup’s pickup. Will absolutely call her again.”

About: I am retired as of a few years ago, and we just lost our Bailey girl at 14 years old a few years back. I haven’t adopted a new dog since and instead am taking care of our kids dogs when they go out of town but do miss having a dog around. I’ve cared for about 6 dogs over my lifetime, and would love to care for your pup too. We have a huge yard that is fenced in for them to go out and play and a large neighborhood great for walks. A few of the dogs I have taken care, love to run in our backyard because there is room for them to run. Since I’m retired I have plenty of free time to take care of and play with pups. I love dogs and enjoy interacting with them. I want them to be happy and safe. I have a large, fully fenced in backyard and a separate fenced in side yard both of which can be closed and keep the dog inside. I also welcome any crates if a dog feels more comfortable in a crate at night. If a dog is well behaved at night, they could also bring a bed and sleep next to our bed.
“Our 3-year-old golden retriever, Bella, has been staying with Rebecca occasionally throughout the years and gets so excited and happy every time we arrive to Rebecca’s home! Bella gets a full day of play with other pups with all the love and care from Rebecca and Tom. Rebecca always provides update photos throughout the stay, which we always appreciate. She provides so much care to detail - from describing the dynamics between Bella and the pups, the activities she’s engaged in throughout the day, and so many photos - which we love! Always a great stay here, and we appreciate Rebecca and Tom so much.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Coto De Caza
First time visit for Tucker with a pet sitter and it was a great visit! Muskaan and her family were very welcoming and Tucker seemed to feel right at home immediately. He will be returning in a couple of days for his first boarding away from home, and I am very comfortable that he will be well cared for!!

Francesca did an amazing job watching Rooster! She kept him busy all day playing and going on walks, he is now home tired!:) He has some seasonal allergies and anytime she noticed him itching, she put his cone on when necessary:) We will definitely book again!

We had such an amazing experience! She took incredible care of Benny and truly went above and beyond. It was so clear how much love and attention she gave him. She also sent tons of updates, which gave us so much peace of mind. We could tell Benny was happy, relaxed, and completely comfortable the whole time. We’re so grateful and would absolutely trust her with Benny again. Highly recommend!

Ashley was a perfect fit to watch my dog for the day! She was attentive, caring, and made me feel completely comfortable leaving him in her care. I could tell he was happy and well taken care of. I would absolutely recommend her and would love to book with her again.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
