“I took a "test drive" with Mark, leaving my dogs with him for a day. He was a great match for my 2 older dogs. He knew how to match their energy and had a very calm presence when they first met him. My pups will usually bark at people when they first met them but not at Mark. They were fine with him for a full day. He took them for a walk and they were fine for him. My "party pup" wanted more pets from Mark before we left. I definitely recommend Mark for a calm & comfortable person & place of care.”

About: I’ve raised, trained & cared for dogs for over 30 years. My friends say any dog who stays with us has hit the jackpot. My husband & I both work from home, are mega dog lovers and shower all our guest pets with love and attention. We always provide daily "pupdates" and photos so our pet parents know their fur babies are being well cared for and loved in their absence. There’s nothing like peace of mind when you have to be away from your four-legged family members. My husband and I currently work from home and will shower your fur baby with love and attention. They will be well cared in our home. Availability most days with enough notice. We have a fully fenced patio great for potty breaks, basking in the sun, or resting in the shade. Pets are always accompanied when outside for safety. Inside is always a comfortable 72 degrees. We have a 2-story home with hard-wood floors, but area rugs in most rooms make it nice and cozy for pups. We are a calm and quiet household who prefers dogs with matching energy, but we still like to play and run several times a day, followed by well-deserved naps. I’m happy to preserve your fur baby’s routine when they are in my care. I can also administer medication if needed. ** for the safety of all the pets in my care, your pet must be well-mannered, potty trained, up to date on all vaccinations, flee/tick free, and in no way contagious.
“We really appreciate Pili accommodate our very last minute request and being flexible. She takes great care of our puppy. She was very diligent with frequent updates and pictures and our puppy was very happy when we picked her up at the end of the day care!”

“Tyrie was able to help me with doggy day care very last minute. My dog Frank had a great day with her and enjoyed himself immensely! I am very grateful for Tyrie’s efficient and quick response time and loving doggy daycare! Book with confidence!”

“Lan was excellent with my baby Beau on a super short notice. She responded within minutes of contacting her. Beau is still a pup and very much behaves like one and Lan handled it with grace. She got my boy nice and tired in her beautiful backyard. Her children were great with him as well giving him tons of attention and treats. Lan sent lots of pictures and videos which put me at ease haha . For my babies first time away from home I couldnt have asked for a better sitter.”

“Amazing experience, came to town for a basketball tournament had a big change in plans and was able to book almost immediately… she was amazing with my high energy for, would highly recommend..!!! Super fast response Front yard Fenced backyard”

“Mirna was fantastic and took great care of our puppy! We didn’t even have to ask for photos, videos or updates because she just sent them and it was definitely a great reassurance that he was in good hands. Her kids were great as well! Thanks Mirna”

About: I have a good experience caring for senior dogs because I had my own dog who passed away three years ago. He was a 17-year-old Lhasa Apso and had been my best friend since I was born. He was blind and had trouble moving around, so I learned how to help him safely and give him the care and attention he needed. Over the past three years, I’ve also taken care of puppies, active dogs, older dogs, and dogs that needed medication, for quick walks, overnight stays and even long periods such as a 5 week stay. I’ve even cared for kittens and senior cats, making sure they were happy, healthy, and well looked after. This experience has taught me patience, responsibility, and how to care for pets with different needs and personalities. Monday: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM (parents home all day) Tuesday: All day (parents home all day) Wednesday: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM (parents home all day) Thursday: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM (parents home all day) Friday: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM (parents home all day) Saturday: All day (parents home all day) Sunday: All day (parents home all day) • Available for dog walking, pet sitting, and daycare. • Can care for pets while parents are home on weekends. • Evening weekday care after school; some flexibility for short walks or check-ins. I always make sure pets are safe, happy, and comfortable in my care. I follow owners’ instructions carefully, give medications when needed, and make sure animals are never left alone in unsafe situations. Pets staying at my house will always be one at a time(unless from the same household) to ensure they get my full attention. I have a two-story house with a fenced backyard in a safe neighborhood, and we’re close to a public park for walks and playtime. Pets can enjoy a clean, calm, and secure environment, and owners can trust me to treat their animals with love, attention, and respect at all times.

“Stella was quick to respond and was able to accommodate watching my dog on short notice. She was very friendly and gave frequent updates during her time watching him. Would definitely use her again and recommend her”

“Erica did a great job. I got home early and found my dogs, calm quiet, and very contented. Erica was out on a walk by herself. As I told her she could do when I got back she returned about 15 - 20 minutes later. And, she offered to, and did, take my pups on another walk to wear them out for the evening. I was very happy with her care of my dogs. In fact, I had already lined her up for a four day house/dog sitting job. After this any qualms I had vanished!”

“Liz was so good to our sweet Opal! She was very patient with our pup and gave us a ton of tips and tricks how to train her! Her home was nice and clean, and made me comfortable leaving my pup there. 10/10! Will book with her again if we’re in the area.”

About: I am retired as of a few years ago, and we just lost our Bailey girl at 14 years old a few years back. I haven’t adopted a new dog since and instead am taking care of our kids dogs when they go out of town but do miss having a dog around. I’ve cared for about 6 dogs over my lifetime, and would love to care for your pup too. We have a huge yard that is fenced in for them to go out and play and a large neighborhood great for walks. A few of the dogs I have taken care, love to run in our backyard because there is room for them to run. Since I’m retired I have plenty of free time to take care of and play with pups. I love dogs and enjoy interacting with them. I want them to be happy and safe. I have a large, fully fenced in backyard and a separate fenced in side yard both of which can be closed and keep the dog inside. I also welcome any crates if a dog feels more comfortable in a crate at night. If a dog is well behaved at night, they could also bring a bed and sleep next to our bed.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I can remember. I grew up being the personal dog sitter for everyone in my neighborhood. I’ve taken care of dogs of various ages ranging from new born to elder. I absolutely love animals and promise to take care of your pup with the same amount I give my own. I am a full-time college student. I am free Mondays and Wednesdays after 2pm. Tuesdays after 4. All day Thursdays and Fridays. Free weekends if needed. My dad is always home so if I’m not home there will be someone there to be with the pet if it is being sat at my house. I have a huge park by my house and will take them on frequent walks. When I visit dogs at families houses I make sure the dog is fed, pet, snuggled sufficiently, walked, and has enough water. Any special treatment you’d like me to add I will do. I promise to pamper your loved ones.
“Wen is always willing to take our dog Bernie in for sitting at the last minute. She treats him so well and sends updates and photos throughout the day, we are super lucky to have found her!”

About: Hi, my name is Shelley, and I would love to care for your dog! I live in a 2br condo in Mission Viejo with my two dogs. I love taking my dogs on long walks and hikes all over Orange County. I work from home, meaning your pooch would rarely be alone. I was a veterinary technician throughout college and have had dogs my entire life, so you can rest assured your dogs would be safe and well taken care of when they stay with me! Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover since before I could speak! I have had my own dog since the age of 2. He lived for 19 years and I took him and my schnauzer with me to college because I couldn't stand being away from them! I currently have a Jack Russell Mix that I adopted from the Baja Animal Sanctuary, and she's the most precious little girl. I volunteered throughout high school at a veterinary clinic and eventually worked as a veterinary technician through college. I had planned on going to vet school after taking some time off from undergrad, but I found an amazing career opportunity and now get my animal fix by taking care of friends' dogs when they are out of town. Meet my pets I have a small Jack Russell Mix that is 14 years old. She is a sweetheart once you get to know her, but can be intimidated by other dogs. I also have a 3 year old, 60 lb mixed breed pandemic "puppy" that is attached to me at all times. Mookie loves just about every dog and will love playing with your dog. About my yard Small deck and enclosed back yard perfect for sunbathing, bird watching, and the occasional lizard chasing. My experience administering medication Yes, I have had years of experience administering medication from giving oral pills, treating ears with ear flushes, giving eye drops, vaccines, subcutaneous fluids...you name it! I currently work from home, so I am available to keep your dog company all day long! Midday walks to the park for a lunch break are my favorite! I have a fully fenced backyard for your dog to safely sunbathe and take as many potty breaks as he or she may need. Come say hi!

Francesca did an amazing job watching Rooster! She kept him busy all day playing and going on walks, he is now home tired!:) He has some seasonal allergies and anytime she noticed him itching, she put his cone on when necessary:) We will definitely book again!

We had such an amazing experience! She took incredible care of Benny and truly went above and beyond. It was so clear how much love and attention she gave him. She also sent tons of updates, which gave us so much peace of mind. We could tell Benny was happy, relaxed, and completely comfortable the whole time. We’re so grateful and would absolutely trust her with Benny again. Highly recommend!

Donna was absolutely wonderful in caring for KiKi, our Petite (yet energetic) German Shepherd rescue. Kiki was immediately comfortable with Donna. She was able to not only give safe care and space, but also anticipated our 5 year-old rescue's need for companionship which helped quell Kiki's separation anxiety. This is a massive WIN for Kiki and for us. Our Pup trusted Donna's active yet casual approach which also became an energetic approach as needed. Donna also sent us photos of our dog's day long stay, her walks, chasing balls, her exploring. We nominate Donna for a Rover Doggie Day Care Giver Champion-of-the-Day! Thank you, Donna!

We were visiting from out of State and wanted to tour Hollywood without our dog. Nicole was awesome, stepping in last minute to watch our little dog Steve. She was great with sending pictures and updates through out the day. Steve was in great hands and it really put our minds at ease. Thank you Nicole! ❤️

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Rancho Santa Margarita commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
