About: Hi, I’m Samantha—your pet’s new favorite human. My friends voted me “Most Likely to Come Home from a Girls Weekend with a Dog,” and I wear that title proudly. I’ve been caring for animals my whole life—from horses and dogs on my grandparents’ farm to fostering pets and building cat walls in my spare time. I speak fluent cat and dog (yes, I understand the slow blink and the “where are you?” meow). I’m upbeat, funny, and dependable—and I’ll treat your fur-kids like family. When Auntie Samantha visits, pets get greeted first. It’s not personal—it’s priorities. I aim to build respectful, lasting partnerships with pet parents, and I’ll keep you updated with pics and notes so you always know your pet is safe, loved, and maybe a little spoiled. Since I work from home and for myself, my work schedule is very flexible. I enjoy helping others care for their four legged kids, since I remember never having enough time when I was younger. Our fur kids are very used to new siblings coming in the home. We have been fostering for PACT FOR ANIMALS for years. They provide foster homes for military personnel.

About: Hi, my name is Shelley, and I would love to care for your dog! I live in a 2br condo in Mission Viejo with my two dogs. I love taking my dogs on long walks and hikes all over Orange County. I work from home, meaning your pooch would rarely be alone. I was a veterinary technician throughout college and have had dogs my entire life, so you can rest assured your dogs would be safe and well taken care of when they stay with me! Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover since before I could speak! I have had my own dog since the age of 2. He lived for 19 years and I took him and my schnauzer with me to college because I couldn't stand being away from them! I currently have a Jack Russell Mix that I adopted from the Baja Animal Sanctuary, and she's the most precious little girl. I volunteered throughout high school at a veterinary clinic and eventually worked as a veterinary technician through college. I had planned on going to vet school after taking some time off from undergrad, but I found an amazing career opportunity and now get my animal fix by taking care of friends' dogs when they are out of town. Meet my pets I have a small Jack Russell Mix that is 14 years old. She is a sweetheart once you get to know her, but can be intimidated by other dogs. I also have a 3 year old, 60 lb mixed breed pandemic "puppy" that is attached to me at all times. Mookie loves just about every dog and will love playing with your dog. About my yard Small deck and enclosed back yard perfect for sunbathing, bird watching, and the occasional lizard chasing. My experience administering medication Yes, I have had years of experience administering medication from giving oral pills, treating ears with ear flushes, giving eye drops, vaccines, subcutaneous fluids...you name it! I currently work from home, so I am available to keep your dog company all day long! Midday walks to the park for a lunch break are my favorite! I have a fully fenced backyard for your dog to safely sunbathe and take as many potty breaks as he or she may need. Come say hi!

About: My husband and I both grew up with dogs in our homes. We have about 28 years of experience owning and taking care of dogs. We’ve always wanted another dog, but when we started helping our friends watch their dogs while they were on vacation, we realized that boarding dogs was actually a better idea! We just love the energy a dog brings to our home and have experience handling different breeds and temperaments. We understand how stressful it can be to board our furry loved ones. We have a goldendoodle and while she loves other dogs, she would get anxiety being left in a pet hotel with tons of other dogs. Our goal is to give you a piece of mind through pictures, videos and text updates, while keeping our guest comfortable, loved and protected. Oh and give them the best time of course!!!! My husband works from his home office and I only work part time so someone is always available to keep them busy, loved and safe! We have a big, enclosed backyard with artificial grass to keep them clean and safe. We will also stay outside with them to watch and make sure they enjoy the backyard safely.

I left my 4 month old mini doxie pup with Claudia for doggie daycare! It was his first time being dropped off with a stranger for the day so I was a little nervous for her sake and his! Upon arriving I was greeted by Claudia and her incredibly calm and sweet dog! I immediately felt at ease seeing her energy around him (again calm, friendly) and knew he’d okay! Claudia was great at communicating updates about our pup throughout the day and I could tell he was having a great time. I was delighted to bring him back home and have him sleep right away haha, she clearly gave him a full, fun day of attention and activities. Very glad to have found a reliable dog sitter like Claudia and couldn't recommend her more!

Jonathan was awesome! Our boy Murph is reactive, gets overaroused easily, steals anything he can get his hands on, and generally not super great with strangers (aka REALLY challenging). Jonathan followed our exact directions when first meeting him and Murph ended up loving him. You can definitely tell he has a lot of experience and patience. When we picked Murph up from daycare he seemed happy and calm, not stressed like he normally is at bigger daycares. He got two long walks and made two friends along the way. We look forward to booking with him again!

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Mission Viejo

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Mission Viejo on Rover is $33.3 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 3,334 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Mission Viejo. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Mission Viejo commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 3,334 sitters in Mission Viejo, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
