“We have booked Julian multiple times and have always been impressive with Julian’s sitting services. Today, we had both our dogs over for day care and the boys had a very fun day (walks, park etc.) and Julian was super flexible with our pickup time. Will definitely book again!”

“Highly recommend Wen, especially if you have an older dog. She takes such wonderful care of my Bernard. She puts so much love and care into watching him, and I can feel at ease knowing he’s getting the special care and attention he needs.”

“Donna and Mike were so loving and caring for my dog Sedona! She is a puppy and was on her first heat cycle, and Donna and Mike were so caring and knew their way around doggy diapers and gave me tips on how to use doggy diapers more efficiently. They sent me photos throughout the day, and were reliable and communicative. Sedona had a great time with them!”

About: Hi, my name is Shelley, and I would love to care for your dog! I live in a 2br condo in Mission Viejo with my two dogs. I love taking my dogs on long walks and hikes all over Orange County. I work from home, meaning your pooch would rarely be alone. I was a veterinary technician throughout college and have had dogs my entire life, so you can rest assured your dogs would be safe and well taken care of when they stay with me! Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover since before I could speak! I have had my own dog since the age of 2. He lived for 19 years and I took him and my schnauzer with me to college because I couldn't stand being away from them! I currently have a Jack Russell Mix that I adopted from the Baja Animal Sanctuary, and she's the most precious little girl. I volunteered throughout high school at a veterinary clinic and eventually worked as a veterinary technician through college. I had planned on going to vet school after taking some time off from undergrad, but I found an amazing career opportunity and now get my animal fix by taking care of friends' dogs when they are out of town. Meet my pets I have a small Jack Russell Mix that is 14 years old. She is a sweetheart once you get to know her, but can be intimidated by other dogs. I also have a 3 year old, 60 lb mixed breed pandemic "puppy" that is attached to me at all times. Mookie loves just about every dog and will love playing with your dog. About my yard Small deck and enclosed back yard perfect for sunbathing, bird watching, and the occasional lizard chasing. My experience administering medication Yes, I have had years of experience administering medication from giving oral pills, treating ears with ear flushes, giving eye drops, vaccines, subcutaneous fluids...you name it! I currently work from home, so I am available to keep your dog company all day long! Midday walks to the park for a lunch break are my favorite! I have a fully fenced backyard for your dog to safely sunbathe and take as many potty breaks as he or she may need. Come say hi!
“We really appreciate Pili accommodate our very last minute request and being flexible. She takes great care of our puppy. She was very diligent with frequent updates and pictures and our puppy was very happy when we picked her up at the end of the day care!”

“So loving and thoughtful about making sure my little fur baby would be comfortable and safe without me. I would strongly recommend Annie and hope to have Chuy visit her again!”

About: I am retired as of a few years ago, and we just lost our Bailey girl at 14 years old a few years back. I haven’t adopted a new dog since and instead am taking care of our kids dogs when they go out of town but do miss having a dog around. I’ve cared for about 6 dogs over my lifetime, and would love to care for your pup too. We have a huge yard that is fenced in for them to go out and play and a large neighborhood great for walks. A few of the dogs I have taken care, love to run in our backyard because there is room for them to run. Since I’m retired I have plenty of free time to take care of and play with pups. I love dogs and enjoy interacting with them. I want them to be happy and safe. I have a large, fully fenced in backyard and a separate fenced in side yard both of which can be closed and keep the dog inside. I also welcome any crates if a dog feels more comfortable in a crate at night. If a dog is well behaved at night, they could also bring a bed and sleep next to our bed.
“Oreo had a fun time @ Reinaldo's place. He was full time playing with his dogs. Oreo wanted to stay there for more time and didn't want to come back home. I am so happy that the stay worked out well so that we have a nice and safe place for Oreo when needed.”

“I booked Mengmeng for a last-minute dog sitting for my 7-month-old puppy, and she was absolutely amazing! She watched him for 12 hours and was incredibly flexible with both pickup and drop-off, which made things so easy for me. She sent me lots of adorable photos and videos throughout the day, which really put my mind at ease. He looked so happy and comfortable! On top of that, she gave him a fresh bath and the cutest little trim—he came home clean, happy, and looking extra cute! I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and attentive sitter. I’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

About: Hi! I’m Jing — CPA and also a caring and reliable pet sitter with hands-on experience raising both a dog and a cat. I’ve had my dachshund for over three years, and I also cared for my cat for two years, so I’m very familiar with the different needs, personalities, and routines of both species. With dogs, I’m patient and attentive, especially with small breeds like dachshunds that need extra back support and gentle handling. I’m comfortable with walks, enrichment, feeding routines, and keeping a close eye on behavior. With cats, I understand how to read their body language, keep their environment calm, and follow their preferred pace — whether they want cuddles or space. I’m experienced with litter box care, feeding schedules, and helping shy cats feel safe. Your pet’s comfort and happiness are my priority. I treat every animal like my own and make sure they feel loved, secure, and well cared for while you’re away. I can’t wait to meet your furry family member! I’m fully working remotely with flexible schedules. So I will give your pet enough attention and play time. Can’t wait to make some quality memories for your baby! I live in apartment with dog park nearby. Easy to go out for walk and have sunbath on the balcony as well. I am experienced with meal prep and necessary medical needs. Please just let me know!

I highly recommend Mahsa! She is incredibly kind, caring, and truly treats dogs with so much love and attention. She was always punctual and reliable, which gave me peace of mind knowing my dog was in great hands. She also kept me updated regularly by sending pictures and videos of my dog, which I really appreciated and made me feel even more reassured while I was away. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about the pets she watches and goes above and beyond to make them feel comfortable and happy. I felt completely at ease leaving my dog with her and would absolutely trust her again in the future!

Donna was absolutely wonderful in caring for KiKi, our Petite (yet energetic) German Shepherd rescue. Kiki was immediately comfortable with Donna. She was able to not only give safe care and space, but also anticipated our 5 year-old rescue's need for companionship which helped quell Kiki's separation anxiety. This is a massive WIN for Kiki and for us. Our Pup trusted Donna's active yet casual approach which also became an energetic approach as needed. Donna also sent us photos of our dog's day long stay, her walks, chasing balls, her exploring. We nominate Donna for a Rover Doggie Day Care Giver Champion-of-the-Day! Thank you, Donna!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Foothill Ranch commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
