“Amanda is Marley’s bestie! Amanda takes such good care of Marley and treats her like the family member she is. Amanda is mindful of Marley’s special needs and unique personality. Amanda is super communicative and responds quickly to texts and phone calls. I love receiving pics and updates!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! Felicia took such great care of our dogs while we were on vacation, and it gave us total peace of mind knowing they were safe, happy, and well-loved. We especially appreciated the frequent updates and the many photos - seeing our pups having a great time made being away so much easier. Communication was excellent, and it was clear our dogs were in wonderful hands. We would absolutely book Felicia again and highly recommend her!”

“We feel very lucky to have found Chen. She is incredibly responsible and trustworthy. During every visit, she kept us updated with photos and detailed notes, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. We will definitely hire her again to care for our cat whenever we are out of town.”

“Never in my life I left my cats to anyone I didn’t know before and Jazmin made it easy for me to trust her with my cats! Jazmin is very responsible and animal loving person, she made it easier for my cats to deal with stress and do not feel alone and forgotten, while I was away moving my dog from coast to coast. I definitely recommend Jazmin as attentive, loving and thoughtful cat sitter!”

“Rachel is amazing and wonderful. So glad we found her to check in on our 3 dogs. All our dogs are comfortable with her and enjoy her company. She is detail oriented and makes sure our dogs are well taken care of. She takes pictures and videos of them when she drops in for a visit. She is also super flexible and understanding when we have change of plans. Pick Rachel as your go to Rover person!”

“Erica is wonderful! She takes care of our dog, cats, and turtle when we are out of town and they all love her. After the visit, Erica always writes how the visit went, how our small zoo is doing and sends pictures of everyone. :) They all love getting pets and cuddles from Erica when she visits!”

About: With over 15 years of hands-on experience as a devoted dog mom, I bring genuine love and reliable expertise to every pet in my care. My experience spans small and large breeds, as well as puppies, adult dogs, and seniors — so I'm comfortable adapting my care to each pet's unique needs and energy level. Beyond my own dogs, I've cared for pets belonging to family and friends, which has given me a broad range of experience with different temperaments, routines, and personalities. At the heart of it all, I believe fur babies are family. I treat every pet with the same patience, attention, and love I'd want for my own — because that's exactly what they deserve. I have a flexible work schedule on Fridays and I’m pretty open on weekends. I may be able to do drop ins during the week in the evenings as long as they align with my work schedule. I will follow your care instructions as detailed to ensure you feel comfortable trusting me to care for your fur baby and ensure they are happy and cared for.

“She did such a great job with our two dogs. The home visit went well and the dogs were very happy when we got home after her first visit. Looking forward to her next drop in!”

About: I’ve cared for a wide variety of animals over many years, including birds, cats, dogs, fish and others. I’m also the go-to caregiver for my son’s animals whenever needed. Friends know me as a dedicated animal lover and often reach out for help or advice in different pet and wildlife situations. I’ve always had a soft spot for animals in need and have rescued and cared for crows, hummingbirds, sparrows, finches and other wildlife over the years. I'm semi-retired and do volunteer work on Mondays. The rest of the week is fairly open so I can be flexible with your requirements. Typically, I stop by in the morning and then again in the late afternoon or evening depending on your preference. I believe pet care should involve more than simply feeding and leaving. I take time to make cats feel comfortable, cared for, and less lonely while their owners are away. During visits, I greet and talk to the cat, refresh water with clean bowls, provide meals according to instructions, and spend quality time doing whatever the cat enjoys most — whether that’s playing, brushing, petting, or simply sitting quietly nearby. I also check and clean the litter box as needed. Visits are typically about 30 minutes or longer, depending on the cat’s personality and level of interaction. Some cats enjoy active attention, while others simply appreciate a calm, reassuring presence. At times, I’ll sit and read quietly so they feel relaxed and accompanied. For evening visits, I can turn on small lights (or follow any specific household instructions) and turn them off during morning visits. Before leaving, I tidy up toys, make sure feeding areas are clean, return everything to its original place, and ensure the home is secure and locked. I also like to send occasional photos or updates so owners can see that their pets are safe, happy, and doing well.
“I‘m very pleased with the drop in visit that Zhenni provided for my pups. We came to town for a wedding and Zhenni came to the hotel to drop in on my two puppies and take them potty. She followed my specific instructions and even went beyond. She was easy to communicate with and sent a follow-up report along with photos. If I‘m in the area again, and am in need of a pet sitter, she will be my first choice. Thank you, Zhenni.”

“Thank you again Avery. You are Ellie’s new Bestie. I think we have some topical in the kitchen. Weird that she’s an indoor cat. Wetter neighborhood than the East County. Going to check your March and April calendar. See you soon.”

“I am always a little hesitant to have new people watch our pups but this time I decided to try rover and I am so happy that we did. We did a meet and greet with Nikki and she was absolutely wonderful. Our dog Bob immediately wanted belly scratches from her and Roxy, our blind, senior dog who normally shakes when she hears new voices, was completely calm. She got to our home just right on time and gave us a lot of updates while we were away. She took our dogs out for a potty and she texted me pictures of Bob and Roxy throughout the night which I really appreciate. I already have her booked for another date and I’m so happy we met Nikki. Thank you for taking care of our pups.”

“Stephanie is a caring and trustworthy professional that I feel fortunate to have watch my dog Kona. Stephanie communicates clearly everything that’s happening every day, and that really eases any worries. I believe Kona enjoys her time with Stephanie (and her well-adjusted Chihuahua Olive) as a fun special time with friends.”

“Our dog, Gary, loves Kelly! We booked Kelly for drop-in visits for a weekend and she was great. We received photos and updates daily. When we returned home, Gary was unphased! We could tell his routines were kept and he received plenty of play time and love while we were gone! Looking forward to booking Kelly again.”

“Ashley is the most loving, and accommodating sitter I could ever ask for. She took care of our cat every day for almost three weeks. She was very kind to buy cat treats and toys on top of the routine tasks, our cat loves her!”

Annie is a great catsitter - she is communicative, responsible, thoughtful, and kind. It meant a lot to me that she took her time warming up to my skittish calico, Truffles, & I saw that Truffles warmed up to her fast through the photos that Annie had sent. Truffles avoids people easily so for Truffles to be in close proximity to Annie and to bunt her hand speaks volumes about Annie being an approachable and welcoming catsitter. My male cat, Soba, was also happy to be fed treats from Annie. I appreciate Annie’s detailed check-ins and would highly recommend her!

I was glad to have Aarthi look after Misty while we were away on vacation. She came by to feed and play with her, sent us pictures and updates, and kept the area clean. Aarthi was very responsive, friendly, and attentive to every detail. We will definitely ask her to look after Misty again the next time we travel!

Maggie was an incredible support in the care of our elderly cats while I was gone for an extended period of time. Prompt, excellent communication, fun updates and pictures, and particular attention to one cat who has been having health struggles. I felt completely at ease knowing she was here. Highly recommend and would rebook in a heartbeat. Thank you!!

My cats were well taken care of by Mya. As they are my babies, I would only have someone take care of them who would make sure to follow the feed/ water directions thoroughly, give them love and attention, as well as clean the litter thoroughly every visit. I plan on using her for house sitting through Rover in March with my shepherd included in the bargain.

Shahla was incredible! She watched my cat and rabbit for about a week and sent me constant pictures, videos, and updates. I only expected her to clean the litter box and feed them, but by day 2, she was playing with them and giving them love. I was surprised because both animals are very shy to new people, but they must have sensed her natural instinct and warmed up to her immediately. I’m so grateful for her and will definitely use her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Foothill Ranch. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
