I believe pet care should involve more than simply feeding and leaving. I take time to make cats feel comfortable, cared for, and less lonely while their owners are away. During visits, I greet and talk to the cat, refresh water with clean bowls, provide meals according to instructions, and spend quality time doing whatever the cat enjoys most — whether that’s playing, brushing, petting, or simply sitting quietly nearby. I also check and clean the litter box as needed. Visits are typically about 30 minutes or longer, depending on the cat’s personality and level of interaction. Some cats enjoy active attention, while others simply appreciate a calm, reassuring presence. At times, I’ll sit and read quietly so they feel relaxed and accompanied. For evening visits, I can turn on small lights (or follow any specific household instructions) and turn them off during morning visits. Before leaving, I tidy up toys, make sure feeding areas are clean, return everything to its original place, and ensure the home is secure and locked. I also like to send occasional photos or updates so owners can see that their pets are safe, happy, and doing well.
