“I am always a little hesitant to have new people watch our pups but this time I decided to try rover and I am so happy that we did. We did a meet and greet with Nikki and she was absolutely wonderful. Our dog Bob immediately wanted belly scratches from her and Roxy, our blind, senior dog who normally shakes when she hears new voices, was completely calm. She got to our home just right on time and gave us a lot of updates while we were away. She took our dogs out for a potty and she texted me pictures of Bob and Roxy throughout the night which I really appreciate. I already have her booked for another date and I’m so happy we met Nikki. Thank you for taking care of our pups.”

“Another fantastic experience with Amanda! We have booked her several times now and she takes great care of our babies. We even had a new medication for one of our cats that she was able to manage without a problem. We completely trust her and feel at peace leaving them in her care. Thank you so much Amanda!!!”

About: I am retired as of a few years ago, and we just lost our Bailey girl at 14 years old a few years back. I haven’t adopted a new dog since and instead am taking care of our kids dogs when they go out of town but do miss having a dog around. I’ve cared for about 6 dogs over my lifetime, and would love to care for your pup too. We have a huge yard that is fenced in for them to go out and play and a large neighborhood great for walks. A few of the dogs I have taken care, love to run in our backyard because there is room for them to run. Since I’m retired I have plenty of free time to take care of and play with pups. I love dogs and enjoy interacting with them. I want them to be happy and safe. I have a large, fully fenced in backyard and a separate fenced in side yard both of which can be closed and keep the dog inside. I also welcome any crates if a dog feels more comfortable in a crate at night. If a dog is well behaved at night, they could also bring a bed and sleep next to our bed.
“This was my first time leaving my cat alone for the weekend and I couldn’t have been more happy with Rachel! She was super kind, thorough, and communicative with me. I will definitely be using Rachel again in the future when needed!”

About: I’ve cared for my family dog, who has three legs, for seven years, giving me firsthand experience supporting a dog with unique mobility needs. After moving away from home to pursue higher education, I welcomed a puppy of my own. These experiences have taught me how to care for dogs of different ages, abilities, and routines, from energetic puppies who need patience and consistency to adult dogs who may require extra attentiveness and support. Neighbors have trusted me to feed and check in on their dogs and cats while they’re away. As a future healthcare professional, I’m responsible, highly attentive to detail, and committed to treating every pet with the same care and affection I give my own. As a full-time student, I’m typically in class Monday through Thursday mornings, so I’m available for walks and drop-in visits most afternoons and evenings. I have open availability on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, as well as from noon into the evening on Thursdays. I don’t have any work obligations, which gives me the flexibility to schedule pet care around my classes. If I have an exam or school event, I won’t accept visits during that time, so you can feel confident that your pet will always receive my full attention and care. Walks and drop-ins are also a wonderful, refreshing break from studying that I genuinely look forward to! Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness will always be my top priorities. On walks, I’ll make sure their leash/harness is secure, stay attentive around traffic and other animals, and be mindful of the weather and hot pavement. I’ll follow their usual route and pace so each walk feels safe, familiar, and enjoyable for them. During drop-in visits, I’ll enter your home thoughtfully, double-check that doors and gates are secure, and follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. I’ll take the time to help them feel comfortable, whether that means playing and giving lots of affection or simply sitting nearby and allowing them to approach me when they’re ready. I’ll treat your pet and home with the same care and respect I would want for my own, and I’ll send you photos and updates so you can feel reassured while you’re away.
“I found Chen through Rover to drop in and take care of my two cats for six days while I was away, and she did an excellent job. From the start, she carefully wrote down all the details I shared about my cats’ routines, which gave me confidence that she truly listened and cared. Every day, she provided thorough and timely updates, including how much each cat ate, their litter box habits, and their energy levels. She consistently refreshed their water, fed them meals and treats as instructed, and made an effort to interact and engage with both cats so they wouldn’t feel lonely. Chen comes across as very responsible, well-educated, and trustworthy. Because of her attentiveness and clear communication, I felt much less anxious leaving both my cats and my home in her care. I highly recommend Chen to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful pet sitter, and I will definitely book her again in the future.”

About: Animals have always been a meaningful part of my life, and I truly believe they’re family members. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of caring for pets with different needs and personalities, including Sophie, one of my cats, who required daily insulin injections until she recovered. I also had a beloved Havapoo who lived a wonderful 16-year life filled with love and adventures. Today, I’m a proud cat parent, and my experiences have taught me the importance of patience, attentiveness, and understanding each pet as an individual. I’ll care for your pet with the same love, respect, and attention I give my own. I work from home and have a flexible schedule, allowing me to provide dependable care when your pet needs it most. Whether it’s a walk, drop-in visit, or extra playtime, I’ll treat your pet like a beloved family member and provide the love, attention, and care they deserve.🤗 I always meet your fur baby in advance and ask about their needs, quirks, and favorite things. If you have written or texted notes, I follow them closely — the more information, the better. I completely understand and don’t mind at all. My priority is making sure your fur child feels comfortable, happy, and safe at all times.
About: I’ve owned pets for over 15 years and have professionally taken care of dogs and cats for over 7 years. I am known to be reliable, caring and patient. I work my full time job at home but am available for visits or walks during lunch hours and anytime after 5:30. I am available on weekends any time as needed. I have a 75lb Staffy/Bulldog who is well trained/extremely sweet. She is well known by my neighbors and can be considered as the doggie president in my condo community. She’s on a weight loss diet, and I can help your pets with that, or give any medications to your pets if needed.
“Maggie is awesome! Our boys LOVE her - even the super shy one. She is very flexible and agreed to check in on our boys on very short notice - hugely appreciated. We have already booked her for another trip we're taking next week. Couldn't be happier.”

“Thank you again Avery. You are Ellie’s new Bestie. I think we have some topical in the kitchen. Weird that she’s an indoor cat. Wetter neighborhood than the East County. Going to check your March and April calendar. See you soon.”

“Zhenni was an amazing cat sitter! She was incredibly communicative and kept us well-informed about our sweetheart cat. She gave our cat all the attention and care it needed, and even sent us the most adorable pictures!”

“Trena is truly the best when it comes to taking care of my two dogs! She goes above and beyond and makes sure that my dogs are taken care of. From walks to feeding to play time, she always made sure that I was comfortable with everything and even brought in new ideas when playing with them! My dogs love her so much and they always look forward to the time that she comes! Trena is our #1 go-to ☺️☺️”

“Never in my life I left my cats to anyone I didn’t know before and Jazmin made it easy for me to trust her with my cats! Jazmin is very responsible and animal loving person, she made it easier for my cats to deal with stress and do not feel alone and forgotten, while I was away moving my dog from coast to coast. I definitely recommend Jazmin as attentive, loving and thoughtful cat sitter!”

About: We've had dogs almost all of our lives and because of our extraordinary care our last 3 dogs lived almost 18 years each. What a blessing they all were. The last one recently passed. We have experience with both puppies and senior dogs and are not afraid of dealing with their special issues. We understand, we all have special issues at times. We are looking forward to caring for your doggies, as well as you would care for them. My husband and I both work from home. We are free most of the day to care for your doggies. They will enjoy being with us and we will enjoy them. We live in a pet friendly suburban community with a doggie run, and lots of walking paths in our community, we also have a large park across the street. We always walk our dogs on a leash and are careful when being around other dogs or children during our walks, we stop and let others pass or we cross the street.

“Our dog, Gary, loves Kelly! We booked Kelly for drop-in visits for a weekend and she was great. We received photos and updates daily. When we returned home, Gary was unphased! We could tell his routines were kept and he received plenty of play time and love while we were gone! Looking forward to booking Kelly again.”

“Ashley is the most loving, and accommodating sitter I could ever ask for. She took care of our cat every day for almost three weeks. She was very kind to buy cat treats and toys on top of the routine tasks, our cat loves her!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Foothill Ranch
We had such a great experience with Aarthi (again)! She took wonderful care of our cats while we were away and sent us updates and pictures every night, which gave us so much peace of mind. Everything was clean and taken care of, and most importantly, our babies were happy and well cared for. 🥰 We really appreciate how thoughtful and attentive she was. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her! 🖤

Bradey takes such good care of our 2 little pups. Sprout gets grumpy with most people but he absolutely loves Bradey. Bob warms up to her, too. I always feel relieved and at ease whenever she watches our babies. She truly is an animal lover. We’re so happy to work with her.

Annie is a great catsitter - she is communicative, responsible, thoughtful, and kind. It meant a lot to me that she took her time warming up to my skittish calico, Truffles, & I saw that Truffles warmed up to her fast through the photos that Annie had sent. Truffles avoids people easily so for Truffles to be in close proximity to Annie and to bunt her hand speaks volumes about Annie being an approachable and welcoming catsitter. My male cat, Soba, was also happy to be fed treats from Annie. I appreciate Annie’s detailed check-ins and would highly recommend her!

Maggie is exceptional and did such an amazing job taking care of our special needs dogs. She went above and beyond, and was extremely communicative, generous with her time and energy, and very reliable. I’d recommend her to anyone, especially folks who might be afraid or anxious about leaving their pets. We will be asking for her services more in the future!

Michelle is wonderful with our puppy Tobie and has been a great help to us on the day we both work and can't be home with him. She has been caring for him since he was 2 months old. He is now 6 months and we are looking forward to many more with Michelle! I highly recommend her.

My cats were well taken care of by Mya. As they are my babies, I would only have someone take care of them who would make sure to follow the feed/ water directions thoroughly, give them love and attention, as well as clean the litter thoroughly every visit. I plan on using her for house sitting through Rover in March with my shepherd included in the bargain.

Shahla was incredible! She watched my cat and rabbit for about a week and sent me constant pictures, videos, and updates. I only expected her to clean the litter box and feed them, but by day 2, she was playing with them and giving them love. I was surprised because both animals are very shy to new people, but they must have sensed her natural instinct and warmed up to her immediately. I’m so grateful for her and will definitely use her again.

na’imah was a last minute booking for my fear reactive pup kenna . she was patient fearless && tried anything to get kenna to take to her even though kenna was being a indifferent . this is kenna’s first time having someone drop in on her && na’imah was thee best person for it . if you have a dog that’s not as friendly or reactive . na’imah is your girl because she’s calm && understanding && doesn’t take it personal . i appreciate you && can’t wait to work together soon !

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
