“If we could give a 6 star review we would! She is awesome. And Max is in love with his new Aunty. Sheryl communicates multiple time daily with photos and updates. When we returned Max was calm and looked well taken care of. Thanks Cheryl for looking after him!”
About: I believe my love for dogs is what sets me apart from other dog and home care providers. You know when you are a dog person, and dogs bring me joy, I truly enjoy being with them and caring for them. My schedule is very flexible as I strive to establish myself on Rover as a pet care provider of choice. When do you need care for your furry loved ones? Let me know and I look forward to meeting you needs! I love providing a fun, relaxing and safe environment while you are away. In terms of how I do this, I follow each client's directions for keeping their pets happy and safe.

“Emma was all we could’ve hoped for: an excellent dog sitter! She was extremely communicative and sent lots of photos and updates about our girl Dolly while we were away. We were at ease knowing our pup was in excellent care and getting lots of love and attention. Thank you Emma!”

About: Hi! I’m Bailey, and I’ve been around dogs my entire life. I grew up with both small dogs and a German Shepherd, so I’m comfortable caring for pups of all sizes, breeds, and personalities. From energetic walks and playtime to reinforcing basic training and providing lots of love and attention, I truly enjoy spending time with dogs. I’ve helped walk, care for, and train dogs throughout the years, and I understand that every dog has unique needs and routines. Whether your pup loves long adventures, needs a slow paced walk, or just wants extra cuddles while you’re away, I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I work from home, which allows me to give your dog plenty of attention and flexibility throughout the day. I’m able to board one dog at a time to ensure they receive my full care and focus, but I’m happy to walk multiple dogs each day. Your dog’s comfort and safety are my top priorities. I have a clean, pet-friendly apartment where dogs can relax and feel at home. I provide a calm, loving environment with plenty of attention, regular potty breaks, playtime, walks, and lots of affection. Since I only board one dog at a time, your pup will receive personalized care and won’t have to compete for attention. I also have a fenced in large backyard that they can run around in.
“Megan was absolutely wonderful was our precious pup! Felt like she truly cared for Kona and enjoyed her time with her. I trusted her completely with my home and she left it so clean and tidy. I absolutely give my highest recommendation for anyone who is looking for someone special to take care of their special furry one!!”

“Isabella knew we were worried about leaving our senior dog and she did such an amazing job keeping us in the loop and up to date. I felt so secure and knew she was taking great care of our boy! Totally using again!”

About: Animals tend to be very fond of me. I enjoy playing with active pets and I always take their comfort level seriously. I also am extremely tidy and do my best to keep things as they were when I arrived. I work three days a week, eight hours, Monday through Wednesday until 2pm. Besides that my schedule is pretty flexible. I can always bounce around too Something I never forget to do is keep everything locked and for the most part the animal will not be out of my sight unless I have to work, which will be communicated prior to the visit.
“Hannah was great! She was super communicative and provided daily updates on our pups. She was very respectful of our home, and was such a pleasure to work with. I absolutely recommend her and will be working with her again!”

About: Ever since I can remember I’ve always had at least one furry friend in my house (dogs and cats). I’ve also dog sat for friends and family over the course of my life. This includes senior dogs and cats that need a little bit of extra supervision (including administering medication) and care. I am currently working part-time 25hrs per week 5-hour shifts and am typically off at around 10pm. Therefore, I have plenty of time to spend with your furry friends before and after when I do work. More than happy to spend the night taking care of your pet(s) as well. Message me for more accurate details pertaining to my schedule as it can vary from week to week. I have a fenced yard, and can crate your dog(s) if needed. I would provide your pets with all the love they can ask for as well as physical stimulation through walks and playtime with pet toys. If applicable, I am also happy to take your pet to a dog friendly park or beach if that is something that would interest you (and your furry friend[s].)
About: I enjoy all pets, great energy, love to see everyone happy and responsible. Let’s have a great day. Welcome to everyone and any pet needs I’m currently available 24 hours a day. Responsible and open to any situation. Feel free to contact me.anytime. I can do holidays as well Iam located on sea terrace park and salt creek area. All kinds of dog parks and grass, sand. Lots of space inside and out. Beautiful area
“This was the first time we left our pup at home (she's spoiled). Brenda immediately put our mind at ease and allowed us to not worry about the dog while we were away for the night. And our pup loved her too. Her communication was excellent, she even sent us updates throughout the evening. Brenda is great, we'd 10/10 recommend her if you need someone kind and trustworthy to watch your animals.”

About: Honestly? Dogs are just my people. I have a 3-year-old Golden named Ares, and I'm also hands-on with a family pack of five Goldens, so between the zoomies, the senior slow walks, and everything in between, I've pretty much seen it all. Big dogs, reactive dogs, medication schedules, strict feeding routines, none of that phases me. What I care most about is that you actually feel good leaving. Not just okay with it, genuinely at ease. So I follow your routine to the letter, send real photo updates (not just the posed ones), and I'm always on time. Always. We're lucky to be close to some great spots, the coastal trails in Newport, the paths near Crystal Cove, Heritage Dog Park, and I know how to navigate them safely. I keep a close eye on the environment, especially brush and ticks, because your dog doesn't know what they're getting into but I do. Whether your dog needs a long run or just a calm, quiet visit with someone who actually gets them, I've got it covered. Right now, my daily availability is incredibly flexible. I am currently taking some time between career moves, which means my week is wide open to prioritize your pet's needs. Whether you need a bright and early morning walk, mid-day drop-ins while you are at the office, or evening care, I can easily build my day around your dog's established routine. My own dog, Ares, has his set schedule, leaving the vast majority of my day completely open to step in exactly when you need me. When I am in your home for a drop-in or picking up your dog for a walk, safety and respect for your space are my absolute top priorities. I treat your home with the exact same care I treat my own, ensuring doors, gates, and locks are fully secured before and after every single visit. Out on the trails or sidewalks, I am hyper-vigilant about our surroundings, steering clear of hazardous brush, hot pavement, or unpredictable off-leash dogs. I stick strictly to your instructions and always leave things exactly as I found them.
“Janet was great with our pup! She is professional, communicative, and kind. We feel very comfortable leaving our pup and home under her care. We are looking forward to working with Janet again!”

About: I have many years of hands-on experience caring for dogs, including daily walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship. I work remotely, which allows me to be home all day and give pets plenty of attention. I can provide frequent potty breaks, walks, playtime, and companionship while staying overnight in your home to keep routines consistent and stress-free. I prioritize keeping pets comfortable in their own home and following their normal routines. I respect your space, keep doors and gates secure, follow feeding and care instructions closely, and provide regular updates so you feel at ease while you’re away.

Hannah was great with both our dog and cat! They both got lots of love and attention. We felt very comfortable leaving our pets in her care, and came home to our house looking exactly as we left it. We would definitely book her again for house and pet sitting.
🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 We had an amazing experience with Kyra watching our dog, Cozzie. She went above and beyond throughout the entire stay and gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Kyra spent a ton of quality time with Cozzie, giving her lots of love, attention, pets, and care, and it was clear from all the updates and photos that Cozzie was genuinely happy and comfortable with her. We especially appreciated how communicative she was — she sent frequent updates, thoughtful messages, and so many great photos that made us feel connected the whole time. She also took excellent care of our home and left everything clean and well cared for. It’s obvious Kyra truly cares about the animals she watches and treats them like her own. We would absolutely trust her with Cozzie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive, and genuinely caring sitter!!

Gabriela has taken care of our dog, Blue, a few times now and stayed overnight with him at our house! We highly recommend Gabriela as she takes our dog for multiple walks a day, cares for him, and is very communicative with us during our time away. She sends us updates and photos of our dog while we are gone which is very appreciated.

Brooke was absolutely amazing! We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for our pup. From the moment we left, we felt completely at ease knowing our dog was in such caring, attentive hands. Brook went above and beyond, not only taking wonderful care of our furry family member but also looking after our home while we were away. We’ll definitely be booking with Brook again soon!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dana Point walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dana Point maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dana Point choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
