“My wife and I needed a dog walker last minute. We also needed someone to come by early. Amy was very professional. She continuously gave me updates on the walk. This was my first time using a hired dog walker and Amy made me and my wife feel very comfortable. We very much appreciate Amy and the effort she took to walk our dog.”

“Andrea was super helpful and responsive. I made a mistake with my address in Rover and she reached out quickly and was very kind about the whole situation. Highly recommend & will hopefully book with her again in the future :)”

About: As someone who loves simple joys like long walks and spending time outdoors, dog walking felt like a natural fit. My family has four amazing dogs — Weimaraners and Bernedoodles — and I greatly enjoy caring for them, whether that's going on walks, feeding them, or curling up for cuddles after long walks on the beach. I know how important it is to trust someone with your dog, and I promise to care for yours with the same love and attention I give my own family dogs. I currently have a flexible schedule and am available for walks and drop-in visits throughout the week, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings. I love being active and spending time outdoors, so fitting dog walks into my day is something I genuinely enjoy. Whether your pup needs a quick potty break, a long walk, or some extra love and attention while you're away, I'm happy to help! I know how important it is to trust someone with your dog because my family's dogs have always been cherished members of our family. Safety, patience, and communication are my top priorities. I'm attentive to each dog's personality, energy level, and comfort, and I always aim to create a calm, positive experience whether we're out on a walk or spending time together at home. Having cared for energetic Weimaraners and affectionate Bernedoodles, I'm comfortable with larger breeds and understand the importance of consistency, exercise, and lots of love. I'll treat your pup with the same care and attention I would give my own family dogs, so you can feel confident they're in safe and loving hands.

About: With more than 10 years of experience caring for both dogs and cats, I truly love working with animals. I’m patient, attentive, and dedicated to making sure pets feel comfortable, exercised, and cared for. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, extra scratches, feeding, or companionship, I make sure every pet gets the love and attention they deserve. I’m mostly available on Fridays, and the weekends. The weekends, I have the most availability so you can do day trips and not have to worry. I can also do some weeknights. I follow each pet’s normal routine for feeding, walks, and playtime to keep them comfortable and easy any stress. It usually helps to have some guidelines to feeding schedules or walk schedules that the owner requests. I will give pets plenty of attention during play time and make sure they are happy, either purring or wagging tails in a good way. I also treat the home with respect by keeping it clean, secure, and following any instructions the owner provides.
About: Lifelong animal lover with hands-on experience raising two Frenchies and a Chihuahua. I also care for loved ones’ pets when needed, providing reliable, loving, and attentive care. Since I am currently not working, I have plenty of time and flexibility to dedicate my full attention to caring for pets. My days are focused on providing love, playtime, walks and companionship, making sure your furry friend feels happy and well cared for throughout the day and/or night. I’m available to give your pets the consistent care and attention they deserve! When caring for pets in your home, I focus on making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable. I’ll keep up with their usual routine–feeding, walking, playtime, and plenty of cuddles. When the dogs are calm and resting, I will use that quiet time to tidy up and clean around the house, so everything looks even better than when you left. It’s all about keeping your pets and home happy!
About: I’ve had both dogs and cats myself, but don’t have either currently. I have worked on dog training and have cared for senior dogs and cats. I love all animals and look forward to meeting yours! I work from an office most days, but I have some flexibility in my calendar. I’m also open most weekends and evenings. If I’m traveling I usually have ample notice. I can’t care for pets in my home since I’m currently in a condo, but will take the extra special care of them in yours!
About: I have grown up with dogs my entire life and care about all dogs! I have 10 years of dog sitting experience in Reno, Nevada. I moved to Dana Point last year and am building my clientele here now. I can’t wait to meet your doggo! I am an elementary school teacher, so I am gone 7/8 hours during the week. I make sure that your dog gets a walk before I leave, and all the care and exercise after work. During the summer, I am free all day! My roommate has a dog, and he has become my best friend. I let him out often, as my roommate is gone at work all day. It so important to me to give dogs exercise, proper water and food, and socialize them with other dogs. It is also important to me to leave the house cleaner than I found it when I do dogsit. My aunt often jokes that when I dogsit, it’s like a maid came as well!
About: I have been around animals my entire life, growing up with 2 dogs, then fostering kittens, having a hamster, two rabbits, and horses. Animals are very important to my live and are a big passion of mine. I have been the sole caretaker of the foster kittens for about 6 years, and have a cat of my own at college with me. My family also has a dog who I grew up with, Finn, and several family cats. We also have two horses who I have ridden and cared for for 10 years, and miss everyday I'm at school. I do have classes throughout the week, but with an hour to two long gaps, I have plenty of time to visit during the day. I would not be able to care for pets in my home, but I can visit to let them into the yard, take them for walks, feed them, or just keep them company.
About: I provide steady, detail‑focused care with a professional approach that works well for both dogs and cats. I keep my schedule intentionally limited so every pet gets consistent attention and a predictable routine. I have experience with dog training, caring for senior animals and providing TLC to each animal I encounter. I keep my client list limited so that I can provide excellent care to each animal. I am available for drop ins, dog walking and house sitting on weekdays and weekends. I make sure to ask details such as where the extra pet food, toys, leashes etc are located. I like to set up a meet and greet to go over any pertinent information I need to know. During the stay, I will provide an ample amount of pictures, updates and I always respond promptly to answer any questions or concerns.
“Ryan is incredibly insightful and thoughtful - Our pup is a rescue and was attacked as a puppy so she is quite skiddish and quirky. He was so caring and considerate with her. He eased her into everything and took extra care. His detailed updates were also greatly appreciated! I would absolutely recommend Ryan and will be reaching out to him for future walks. Cant say enough wonderful things!”

About: I’m a trustworthy working professional looking to watch cute dogs on the weekends. This is my first time not living with a dog, and I’m in much need of canine time! I’ve had Golden Retrievers all my life and I’ve always been the go-to neighborhood dog watcher & walker growing up! I’d love to help walk, play, or watch your dog on the weekends! I’m currently working full-time at a medical device company but I am generally around and available on the weekends! I don’t have time at the moment to get a dog due to my busy work week schedule but I’d love to be able to be around and help out with dogs on the weekend! My roommate is allergic to dogs so I wouldn’t be able to bring dogs to my house but I’d be willing to be outdoors and explore the area with a furry friend or come to the dogs home to help take care!

About: I’ve been a dog owner since 2013 where I was responsible for feeding, walking, grooming and giving my dog daily exercise activities. I also previously watched dogs for families and friends before apps like Rover came out. I’ve always been naturally friendly with dogs and they take a liking to me. Right now I’m available weekdays. I do work part-time as a sports coach in the afternoons. I do my best to be very present to support my wife and first born seven month old girl. I’m able to walk our fur pals whether their are crated or not with care. Our two dogs (a pure miniature Corgi and white Canaan) used to be crated for when my wife and I went to work. Eventually I worked from home so they didn’t have to be crated during the day. My wife and I moved back home with her parents so our dogs live with my mother on their property.
About: I have fostered multiple puppies and cats up to 5 at once! I also have 2 dogs of my own. I pet sit/ walk frequently and love them so much but I am a student at SDSU so I cannot see them frequently. I also could drop in early in the morning if needed! I am free on weekends are are available to stay with your furry friends. I take pet care vet seriously and try to connect with pets on a genuine level! I grew up with cats and dogs so I am used to their behavior! About: Hi my name is Alexis I am very friendly with all pets, and I absolutely can’t wait to meet your pup no matter the size or breed I’ve experienced from as small as a chihuahua to as big as a Rottweiler. I am very athletic so I will be able to keep up with your high energy pet. I take care of my sisters German shepherd mix a lot and he is very active. I promise to treat your pup as if he/she were part of my family. I am very very excited to meet you and your pet. I hope you consider me to watch over your little family member. I hope to hear from you soon. I am currently working part time 5 minutes away from my house so I will have plenty of time to take care of your pup! There is a small park in my neighborhood and the dog park is also a short walk away so I would take your pup on as many walks as he/she is up for. I don’t have any pets at the moment but I used to have a chihuahua and a Rottweiler I also don’t have a fenced yard or a big backyard that’s why I prefer walking to the park or dog park
About: I am experienced in walking, feeding, grooming, administering medication, and providing playful attention and love, ensuring pets are healthy, happy, and cared for with dedication. I am currently on summer break, as a student in college and as a one on one caregiver that works at an elementary school, so I have lots of free time to pet sit/walk :) I have a fenced yard, so there’s plenty of room for our furry friends to play and run around. I also allow them inside and wander around to get sniffs in and more comfortable in the new environment. I have a lil doggo named ziggy. He is older so he mainly stays inside or in my room. I have a crate and a little gate for the kitchen if either are needed as well as dog bowls, extra leashes.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
