About: We don’t currently have any pet because of renting. However we both grew up with dogs and have had plenty of experience dog sitting our friends’ and family’s doodles. The most rewarding moments come from seeing their genuine smiles after a good exercise or meal! We work from home so we spend week day 9-5 at home office, with regular breaks outdoors which allow us to board and or walk your dogs. We prefer caring for pets in our home. We like to pet proof the home to be void of potential toxins or physical danger. We live a very routined lifestyle so will find it very easy to fit your dog’s routine into our life style.

About: For 18+ years, I have cared for dogs--not only the family dogs (rescues included), but for others who have needed help with walking or overnight stays. I am retired, so my time is very flexible. I can easily flex my schedule as needed. I have great experience walking dogs in Laguna Beach. I give each dog the personal attention they need as I can easily fit care in throughout my week. I am happy to walk your dog in the Laguna Beach neighborhood. I have a nice area in my yard for dogs that is fenced in where I can throw balls or frisbees or a toy of choice, if you prefer for me to watch them at my house during the walk or playtime.
About: My family loves having animals in our home, I have always owned a dog. My beloved childhood dog Teddy that lived to be 18 years old.. now I have a six year old seventy five pound sheepadoodle who is a big loving ball of fluff. We often watch family animals when they need help. I am also an avid walker and walk my dog 4 miles a day so your dog would definitely get adequate exercise. We have always been a dog loving family and love having them in our home. I am currently a stay at home mom so I am home the majority of the day. Your pet will get all of the love and attention. I go for a four mile walk every morning with my dog and 1.5 year old, so I would take your dog too unless otherwise specified. I have full availability unless we are out of town. I have a fenced yard and a friendly dog to keep your fur baby company. I go for multiple walks a day and have no problem walking two dogs. If your dog needs a crate I can crate them as well as long as you bring their belongings. With that said your dog must be good with other dogs as well as small children, it is a non negotiable. I have 1.5 and 4 year old kids which means you must know for sure that your dog is comfortable around small children.
“Highly recommend! Thank you for making it possible for us to bring our boy with us on vacation and enjoy the amenities of the hotel and snuggle our pup at night! I really appreciate the pictures that you sent throughout the day.”

About: Hi! I’m Cassandra, I’ve spent more than 35 years around dogs and can’t imagine life without them. I’ve cared for all kinds, including a disabled Jack Russell, and my two beloved Boxers who are no longer with us. My 5-year-old son, Jackson, adores animals too, and together we’d love to welcome your pup into our home and treat them like family. I work from home full-time and am available every day to provide attentive, consistent care. Your pet will receive the best possible treatment and plenty of love while staying with us. I have a fenced backyard with grass, perfect for safe playtime. I also love going on walks and will make sure your pet gets lots of exercise and attention, just let me know their routine!
About: The reflection of a person reflects how a domesticated animal will come to be. Thoughts like these make me want to understand more of why we were put on this world. Animals make me happy. They do things so flowingly and naturally and it’s so unique because it’s so simple. They don’t want to do it, they just do it. Each dog and cat all have their quirks and differences which is why they are so special to me being that all animals are special as well. These thoughts and experiences help me into exploring more of what I want to be as a person with animals and how this could help me to become what I aspire in being and beyond. I go to the gym almost everyday about an hour and a half. I go out most of the weekends usually between 2pm to 1am. 3 adults also live in our household and they already take care of most of the pets in our household. Every single moment counts as animals are in every single moment as well since they are being. To this moment I am still learning to understand all of my pets, they all have their differences and that is what I love so much. I have be different with each one. Adapting is such a big challenge for me because it can require a vast amount of patience and effort. Sometimes things will not go the way you want it to and that’s ok. There will always be another moment to try. These thoughts and reasons are what I want to apply when I’m studying new animals and how I can gain their trust.
“Claudia was very kind and responsible with our Golden girl. We are always nervous about leaving her for the first time, but Claudia was very loving and sent photos showing how happy and relaxed she was. We came home to a happy, tired pup. Highly recommend.”

“Teresa was wonderful. She communicated in a timely way and was very kind. She is so calming and even my anxious dogs were able to relax with her. She played with my energetic 1yo pup and both pups got plenty of sunshine with her in her back yard.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Dana Point
Danielle was great! She was available short notice to watch our dog Sage and worked around our schedule and timing. She sent pictures and updates and made us feel very comfortable knowing what Sage was up to and checked in to verify her food needs. We really appreciate that kind of communication! :) Sage looks forward to her next visit!

Kelle was absolutely fantastic! From the moment I booked, she was incredibly responsive and made the whole process easy. Throughout the stay, I received regular updates and adorable photos, which gave me such peace of mind. It was clear that Duke was happy and safe.

Cassandra was wonderful! She gave very clear communication from the time that she accepted the booking. When I arrived, I noticed how clean and save her home looked that made me feel really comfortable. Leaving me there! Cassandra was very friendly and Mia felt it ease right away!!! Cassandra and her son took such great care of Mia and sent me pictures :) I could tell from the photos Mia was really relaxed and not stressed! Cassandra has a lot of of experience with dachshunds or any other breed of dogs that you need to be careful with their backs. Mia seemed like she had a great time and got lots of snuggles and two walks!! I would definitely bring me a back to Cassandra!

Savannah was amazing! She seemed so nice upon arrival and our dog very willingly went with her when it was time for us to leave. She sent us photo updates throughout the night which was much appreciated and our dog seemed so happy. Would definitely recommend her!

Wawa came back very happy and in a playful mood. He settled down into his bed with his toy he had during his stay shortly after coming home. I think he had a ton of fun. Kathleen was very responsive and took great pictures so we knew they were all good together.

First time using Rover in Dana Point. When I picked up my dogs they were coming back from their walk with Matthew and both dogs were very happy with their tongues out and tails wagging. Pictures also showed both dogs playing with dog toys and happy. I will for sure ask him to sit my dogs again! Very pleased 😃

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
