“I honestly can’t rave enough about how kind, patient and caring she is with our wild boxer pup. This is the 2nd time we book her and we are so happy with the amount of updates she shared with us.”

“Don was amazing! He sent us regular updates and photos. He took great care of our little senior puppy, medications and all! We would definitely have him take care of Sissy again.”

“My wife and I had Alex stay at our place overnight to watch our cats and she did a wonderful job! She was very attentive and an active messenger for an anxious cat dad like myself. Our normally shy and nervous cat even came out to see her! Highly recommended her to come care for your animals. She left the place looking exactly how it was before we left :) If you need a sitter, Alex is your girl.”

“Carley is the sweetest! She went above and beyond with my pup during a house sit, taking her for fun hikes and gave her lots of care and attention. My girl seemed absolutely stoked to hang out with her! I never usually leave her on her own like this, but I felt so rest assured with her. Thanks Carley!”

“Hannah was so great with watching my 11-week-old puppy! Unlike other Rover sitters, Hannah actually interacted with my puppy during playtime, didn’t keep him locked in the play pen all day, she was very good about cleaning up after him, and kept my home clean as well. The state of my home was a concern after other Rover sitters, but I would absolutely rebook Hannah again, for the sake of my home AND my puppy. I could tell he was happy and had a good day with Hannah. Thank you so much!!!”

“Súper professional and accommodating. Needed a sitter last minute for Mother’s Day and Josh went above and beyond. Very good about communicating updates. Handled giving my dog Vida her pill. & just all around a kind and caring guy! Definitely will book with him again.”

About: I've taken care of my families dogs ever since elementary. There's no job to dirty or to difficult that I cannot handle. There is always a place in my heart for any animal, no matter how small or big they may be! Since I am a full-time student, there are days where I am off and have plenty of time to spend caring for any fur babies. I try to make any animals experience as calming and easy as I can make it. I believe in not using any negative reinforcement, anything is possible with treat (in moderation).
“Emily is amazing! They took such good care of my 2 kitties as well as my home, would 100% book them again :) Super communicative and I felt at ease leaving everything in their hands, most importantly, my kitties were so comfy and relaxed when I got home.”

“Gabriana was amazing. Our pets took to her so quickly, including our highly anxious dog! She’s a pet whisperer. We also returned to a clean and organized house. Highly recommend her!”

“I will definitely hire Angel again. It was a very good experience. She was very communicative and followed every direction I gave her. She was on time many efficient. My dog was also very calm when I got home and things were really in order in my home. My plants were not dead. Everything was perfect. She's wonderful. Please hire her”

“Amanda was a great, communicative, thoughtful sitter for my 18 month old pup! Went out of her way to offer to apply my guy's nightly ear drops, sent me photos of him looking happy and playful. Thanks Amanda!”

“Sarah was amazing with my Gunnar. I received daily pictures and updates of their walks and how they were spending their days together. The whole experience was outstanding and I will definitely use Sarah again whenever possible. Thanks Sarah!”

“Karen was great! Was able to take our request at the last minute and was super communicative and responsive. Riggins is increasingly picky as he gets older and seems like he had a relaxing weekend with her :) Will definitely be using her sitting services again.”

“Saudia is, in short, the BEST! We trust Saudia, we adore the way she cares for our pup Willow, and we really appreciate her expertise with dogs. Most recently, Saudia house and dog sat for us during some very stressful last minute travel - we were sooo grateful that we didn’t need to worry about Willow at all while we were away. We knew Saudia had everything under control and that Willow was having the best time. She sent the cutest pictures and videos. Highly recommend Saudia!! We love her!”

“Mahalia took good care of our pups and she was very respectful with our home and left our place tidy. our dogs loved her and we will definitely have here watch them again for our next trips! :)”

“Brianna took such good care of my three dogs while I was away. She also took care of the house and kept me updated during my trip. Thank you Brianna for doing such a great job! I would definitely book with Brianna again.”

Colette is my cats’ (and mine, too) favorite sitter! They are so chill with her from the moment she comes over, which blows my mind and is a huge relief. Her energy is a perfect match. They both immediately come and hang out with her with no hiding or spending time being aloof and unsocial. And Colette takes excellent care of my place and keeps me informed about everything going on. Not only that, the photos she gets of these two are wonderful! It’s so fun seeing them even tho I’m away! Colette is truly such a gift, and I recommend her at the highest level!

Isabel was thoughtful, responsible and communicative while she stayed in our home with our dog Satya for 9 days. Before the stay, Isabel took the time to visit the neighborhood and our home to meet Satya and to make sure she was well informed on how to care for her. During her stay, Isabel was very respectful of our home and she took great care of Satya, including sending regular updates and photos. We would be happy to work with Isabel again and would definitely recommend her pet care services to others!

Having Gabriana as our dog sitter gives us such peace of mind while we are away because we know our dog is getting the best care. Gabriana sends us daily updates, notifies us of any concerns, takes excellent care of our home, caters to our dogs special needs, and our anxious pup loves her! Thank you so much, Gabriana!

Noelle was an amazing sitter for my pup! She was responsive and made sure he was taken care of every step of the way. She followed all instructions and sent photos. He warmed up to her quickly and I knew he was in good hands. Will definitely rebook her for future house sitting!

Jessica was wonderful! She took such great care of our pup and our home while we were away for the weekend. She was perfectly communicative with updates and sent photos of them having fun, which really made our trip more enjoyable. We'd love to have Jessica back to watch our pup!

Lauren was wonderful! She swooped in last minute to watch my cat and my very excitable dog for two nights. She was super responsive, sent regular updates, and it was clear that the animals loved her. She gave me so much peace of mind while I was traveling. Highly recommend!!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Alexandrea. From the moment we met at the meet-and-greet to the moment we left for our trip, I felt completely at ease knowing our dog, Pipoca, was in her care. She was flexible, working with our flight schedule, and, most importantly, arrived right on time. She treated our home with so much respect, as if it were her own, and her communication throughout the stay was exceptional! She sent frequent updates and always checked with us before making any decisions outside of what we previously agreed on, along with so many adorable photos and videos throughout the day! She even took Pipoca along with her while running errands aka little adventures for our little one, kept her engaged, and it was clear from every update how happy and comfortable Pipoca was with Alexandrea. When we came home, the house was clean and Pipoca was relaxed and happy. I would not hesitate to book Alexandrea again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, communicative, reliable, and genuinely caring sitter.

FAQs for House Sitting - Los Angeles
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Los Angeles on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 14,795 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Los Angeles. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Los Angeles walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Los Angeles maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Los Angeles choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
