“Brigette was incredible! She was punctual and communicative through and through. We felt such a sense of peace while away knowing that our beloved cat (and home) would be cared for in all the important ways. Whenever we travel again, can only hope that Brigette will be available:)”

“Christopher was an amazing caretaker for our dogs. He sent us pictures, diligently cared for them, and really enjoyed his time with them. The dogs were so well taken care of. We can’t recommend him enough.”

“Heather was great looking after our dog ArdyJazz and the two cats, Coral and Manatee, while we were gone for about 10 days to. She's super friendly and you can tell she really loves animals – she totally got their individual quirks. It was great getting updates and pics that showed everyone was doing well. Coming home to happy pets and a tidy house was such a relief! We totally recommend Heather if you need someone great to watch your furry crew, and we'll definitely be hitting her up again next time we travel.”

“My dog Pod is usually pretty anxious if my husband and I leave him anytime other than our normal work times, but he seemed very comfortable with Michael right away. Michael sent us a picture and update part way through the stay, which was nice, and Pod was happy to see us when we got home but seemed clam and not anxious at all!”
“I have never done dog sitting through Rover before and I am just so sad I didn't mean Rachael sooner! She is AMAZING! Extremely responsive, very detailed and professional all the way. Our senior Min Pin, Frankie, met Rachael a few days before the scheduled dog sitting and he LOVED her. Within minutes he was curled up on her lap. Rachael understands how much our furbabies mean to us and treated Frankie as if he were her own. We received daily updates and pictures all throughout the days while we were away. Not only did she dog sit and walk Frankie, but she truly spent time with him. I want to mention that Frankie had an upset stomach the day we left as well as an itchy paw. Neither were things we discussed beforehand as they hadn't occurred until the day we left. Rachael took care of both without hesitation. She fed him pumpkin pulp to help his tummy and did Epsom Salt soaks for his itchy paw. She really went above and beyond. When we came home, we came home to a very chill and relaxed dog. AND she took some awesome photos and printed them for us :) I really cannot say enough about Rachael. We were so impressed and so grateful. And she took incredible care of our apartment. Rachael is one of a kind and a true gem. Looking forward to the next time we can work with her. Would recommend her to everyone and anyone (and this is coming from a very anal doggy mom). Thank you again Rachael!”

“Erica was wonderful! She took on our pups (who are both a little sensitive and reactive) for a long weekend. We could tell they were both so well loved and taken care of. It was nice having peace of mind and we will definitely be booking her again for our next trip!”

“Zixuan took such good care of Freddie and Marcel while she was sitting at our place! She’s been walking Freddie for a while, and we were really glad we had someone our pets trusted to care for them while we were out of town. We got pictures and updates every day, and they got lots of attention and playing in :)”

“Ninon was so wonderful with our elderly, somewhat standoff-ish dog. She respected his space but made him feel very comfortable and we couldn't have asked for better care. Thank you Ninon!”

“Brooke was excellent with our girl Marlowe. We had a last min trip planned and she took time to meet and walk Marlowe a few times beforehand to make sure we were all comfortable (mainly Marlowe). We got great pics and updates while we were gone and she kept our place spotless. Booking her again ASAP! THANK YOU BROOKE!”

About: I started dog walking and doing cat play dates out of high school 11 years ago and loved it! I grew up with two large dogs and two cats in Portland, Oregon. Calm or animated, tall and long, short and stout, I take care of dogs & cats with all types of personalities, needs, and routines. I know dog & cat first aid through the American Red Cross and will go above and beyond to be a steward of your space. I study critical theory around the subjects of visual culture and land use at Portland State University online, so my schedule is open and adaptable to yours. My availability is completely open. I'm currently a student online, so I can adapt my schedule around whichever days and times you need help. I'm a patient, soft-spoken caretaker that allows a new fur friend to get to know me first. I'll walk the greenest routes in the area and cross the streets at the safest points. I walk at a steady pace and can check in with you and your pet during the walk or pet sit. We can play games or lounge around if that's more their style. I'll tend to your pet's grooming, diet, activity, and behavior specificities as well as any household tasks that accompany the visit.
“We had Chloe over to watch our puppy and our cat. Immediately we noticed her love for animals. She is also very responsive on the phone, punctual and easy going. Our puppy really likes her”

“Wow! Pixie went “above and beyond” in caring for my Cookie who has separation anxiety. I was so worried leaving her, not knowing how she would handle this 3 day break. But with Pixie spoiling her and sending me multiple videos I was able to relax and enjoy my weekend. Book with Pixie! Your pet will thank you. Not only is Pixie energetic and loving, she knows a lot about dogs and how to care for even a spoiled pup.”

“Corinne was an amazing pet sitter! She came to our help when we were out of town and had a disaster of a nightmare when another rover who was supposed to care for our babies never showed up. She was quick to respond, sent lots of pictures and helped ease our mind that our pets were well taken care of while we were gone. Corinne is the type of pet sitter you hope takes care of your pets, we recommend her 1000%.”

“The night before I had to leave one of our dogs got sick and Sarah did an amazing job taking care of him and our house! We would absolutely use Sarah again, highly recommend!!”

“Lori was fantastic with my dog Maggie. She is a senior dog and is a little higher maintenance with medications and care these days. Lori was top of every medication, feeding, walk etc. She followed instructions very well which put my mind at ease while on our trip. I could not recommend her enough.”

“Kenya is absolutely amazing and just a great person! From the beginning she took the time to get comfortable with my dogs, 2 high anxiety and 1 grumpy old pup. I was comfortable having her house sit and leaving them with her for a week. She was in constant communication sending pictures daily with my nieces & nephew's looked forward to. My huskies got daily walks together, even with the rain, and lots of cuddles. My 16yr pup was even up and about with her which he often doesn't do. He can be difficult especially when it comes to getting his eye meds but she figured out how to do it which was huge! She even replaced a window spring my dogs ripped, washed my carpet cuz my senior dog refuses to go out at times, and washed the blankets she used which was all completely unnecessary. I hope she can continue to walk my dogs and she will definitely be the first person I call anytime I need housesitting!”

“Marina was wonderful! She did overnight dog sitting for 5 days with a little advanced notice. She sent us cute pics of my dogs daily and kept us updated. She left the house very clean too. We will definitely use her again in the future!”

“Dominique took great care of our dog and our home while we were away. We’re always a little nervous the first time our dog meets a sitter because she can be shy at first, and she’s reactive with other dogs, so it takes a calm and confident dog lover to make us all feel at ease. Dominique is fantastic! Kona felt comfortable with her very quickly. She asked great questions when we first met, making sure she understood Kona’s personality and routine. She sent us adorable updates throughout the stay, and we came home to a clean, tidy house and a happy dog. 10/10 recommend!”

“Dee was truly amazing! I swear he might actually be a dog whisperer. My dog Blossom absolutely loved him and was so happy and comfortable with him. He was incredibly communicative while I was away, and I felt completely comfortable and assured the entire time knowing my dog and my home were in such good hands. He sent thoughtful updates, was attentive to everything, and clearly cared about making sure Blossom was happy and well taken care of. He also took incredible care of my home and left it even better than he found it. It’s rare to find someone you feel this comfortable trusting with both your pet and your home. I would have him back in a heartbeat and highly recommend you reach out to him!”

Lio and her partner took great care of my dog, Cash! They stayed over the weekend and left my place exactly how I left it, with Cash looking healthy and happy. Lio sent regular updates including photos and videos during the stay and I felt confident that Cash was being cared for well. He can be very anxious at times and her accommodations to him were very appreciated! Thanks so much :)

Murphy helped take care of our new puppy on short notice; he was punctual, reliable and so attentive to our fur baby. He sent regular pictures and videos along with updates on what she did throughout the day. Our puppy felt comfortable right away and we will definitely be reaching out to Murphy in the future for any dog sitting needs!

Jessica took excellent, loving care of our dog and cat while we were out of the country for a week. She took many pics and shared frequent updates with us, and put our minds and hearts at rest that they were being taken care of wonderfully. Our worry now is that our dog and cat will miss her too much! We will not hesitate to recommend her services and call on her again. Thank you, Jessica!

Amanda house-sat and took care of Cricket while we were away on a long trip. Her daily photos and updates helped us feel secure and never worried. Cricket seemed to have a great time, and our apartment was cleaner when we got back than it had been when we left! Thanks Amanda :)

Ninon is our first rover choice. She is reliable, dependable, and wonderful with our dog. Would definitely rebook her and I would suggest you do too! She jumped in for us last minute when another rover person we booked with backed out with short notice. Our dog also has special needs and Ninon handled her beautifully! While she is more expensive than some others, you are paying for peace of mind with your animal while you’re away. I really don’t think I could have said the same with the other provider we had initially booked at a lower cost. So ultimately, that decision and Ninon are absolutely worth it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Avery was absolutely wonderful with Max, and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! He took such thoughtful care of him while we were away — taking him on walks and hikes, playing his favorite game of fetch, and making sure he got plenty of attention and activity. What I appreciated most was how attentive Avery was to Max emotionally. Every day, he sent us updates about how Max was doing, including his mood, how he was adjusting, and how he was eating. Being away from Max for an extended period, those little details meant so much to us and really gave us peace of mind. Avery also went above and beyond by cleaning up our house before he left, which was such a thoughtful surprise to come home to. It was very clear that Avery genuinely cared about Max and took the time to understand his personality and make him feel comfortable and loved. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for dog. We would absolutely trust Avery with Max again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a kind, responsible, and attentive sitter. Thank you so much, Avery! ❤️🐾

We are so thrilled that we found Jennifer to stay at our home with our two dogs. She is caring, thoughtful, respectful and most importantly - LOVED our dogs. She was a great communicator for all things related to the dogs and our house. She left our home so incredibly clean. It made it really easy to come back from vacation knowing that our dogs and our home were in her good hands. Will definitely call her again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Adams Square on Rover is $48.84 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 14,379 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Adams Square. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Adams Square walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Adams Square maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Adams Square choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Adams Square. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
