“Rebecca and her sister Gabby watched our dog and two cats in our home for 11 nights over the holidays. They sent lots of photo updates and responded quickly anytime we reached out. The animals were in good spirits when we came home which is always a good sign! We were so grateful they were able to sit for us for such a long stay and would book them again.”

“Amanda was so great! She updated me with pictures and updates all weekend. Our dog is a senior and has some health issues and we don’t like to leave her with just anyone. We will definitely rebook with Amanda! 😊”

“This is the second time I've hired Kathleen to look after my dogs and my house. She has always been incredibly responsive and responsible. She consistently goes above and beyond both with my dogs (even hand feeds my spoiled little one when she's being stubborn) and my house (there was a leak Kathleen went out of her way to try and diagnose, she keeps my plants alive and happy, and my house spotless). I trust her completely and all my animals love her. She sends frequent updates with cute pics, and you can tell she loves all living things. My dogs love her right back and appreciate having a snuggle buddy. She's absolutely wonderful!”
“Laura was fantastic! I have a 1 year old and an 11 year old dog, each with their own needs. She was wonderful and communicative during the 5 day I was away. I felt completely comfortable with her taking care of them. And when I came home, everything was in great shape and the dogs seemed very happy. I will definitely hire her again.”

“Jenna is extremely reliable and responsive. She took amazing care of my senior cat, Kobe, who has many special needs (including administering a kitty asthma inhaler) and is a semi-disabled kitty. When she visited, I could see how much she cared about ensuring Kobe would have the best support while I was out. She sent me daily detailed updates (with his cutest photos), and I was fully relaxed knowing he was in great hands. All photos I received showed Kobe looking comfortable and relaxed (even cuddling up on the couch). She's very organized and I even returned to a cleaner apartment than I had left. Thank you, Jenna!”

“Mike truly makes our lives so much easier knowing our fur babies aren’t just being cared for when we’re gone, but are being loved on. Highly recommend hiring him for any of your pet sitting needs! Thank you, Mike!!”

“Courtney is an outstanding dog professional, experienced, confident, reliable, honest, on time, and she has the greatest personality. We needed an experienced dog sitter & handler for our dog Chuck to sit for an entire day and evening at our house. Courtney turned out to be the perfect Rover-choice, in full agreement with her great reviews! Chuck is a three year old high energy working line sable German Shepherd police dog. He was born, raised, and trained in Germany. Courtney and Chuck quickly bonded. She quickly learned the few German commands needed for sitting and walking purpose. She also quickly learned about the personality and traits of a dog like Chuck from a write-up summary that we handed over. Courtney kept updating us during her sit, walk, play, and feeding. She also sent us pictures. Chuck clearly fell in love with Courtney. When she left he was whining and he did not want her to leave 😀. Courtney is simply the best of the best!”

“Will definitely be a repeat customer with Sonya, she was fantastic! She came out to meet our fur baby Milo in advance of the stay with him and spent time listening to all the details about his care, preferences, etc. that are important to us. Additionally, she was responsive throughout our communication and regularly sent us pics and updates about how Milo was doing while we were gone. She put our minds at ease. Thanks Sonia!”

“Lori was fantastic with my dog Maggie. She is a senior dog and is a little higher maintenance with medications and care these days. Lori was top of every medication, feeding, walk etc. She followed instructions very well which put my mind at ease while on our trip. I could not recommend her enough.”
“Jessica did a great job dog sitting for my 3 dogs. She kept their routine the same and made them comfortable while I was gone for a week. I appreciated her frequent updates and pictures.”

“Matthew took amazing care of our pup when we were away for the weekend. She was so happy and calm when we came home, we could tell she had a great time with him. 100% recommend and we will be booking Matthew again in the future!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter than Avery! She took incredible care of both our dogs and our home while we were away. We came back to a clean, organized house that was above and beyond what we expected, and our pups were clearly happy, relaxed, and well-loved. Avery kept us updated with lots of great photos and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind. We would not hesitate to use her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, responsible, and genuinely caring.”

About: I’ve had dogs since I was ten years old. I get along really well with all animals and I have never met a dog that didn’t like me. I work and live in Pasadena and would love to spend my weekends taking care of your pets! Possibly available for weeknight drop ins too I make sure to keep an eye on your pets and make sure there is nothing accessible to them that could hurt them or that they could break or destroy
“Highly recommend Krista. She sent photos and updates throughout the day. She is very responsive and answered all my messages thoughtfully. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We will for sure call her back :)”

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life, and caring for them feels natural to me. I’m patient, calm, and really pay attention to each dog’s personality. I’m used to walking energetic pups, giving extra love to shy or senior dogs, and keeping routines just the way owners prefer. Friends and neighbors always trust me because I treat every pet like they’re part of my family. Your dog will get lots of care, love, and happy walks with me. Pet care fits really naturally into my daily routine. I always start and end my day with walks, playtime, and check-ins, so caring for pets easily fits around my work and schedule. I make plenty of time for feeding, potty breaks, cuddles, and exercise. Whether it’s morning, afternoon, or evening, I make sure each pet gets consistent love and attention throughout the day. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their routines exactly how the owner prefers. I make sure they get enough walks, playtime, feeding, water, and any special care they need. I keep their space clean, give lots of attention, and make sure they feel safe and relaxed while their family is away.
About: I have grown up with dogs my entire life: from a shiba inu, yellow lab, to a husky. I can and will provide tons of love and hugs for your fur baby. I truly miss my puppies back home and just need to spread some dog love. I attend LMU and will be a rising senior, I therefore can’t afford a dog while in college but would enjoy all the time I get to spend with yours. I am well-adapted to normal commands and quirky dog behaviors. I know how to handle food/treat aggresive dogs as well those that are very very needy (I grew up with a lab). I currently work part time jobs in Santa Monica and Venice And my schedule will be clarified before I give availability for Rover. Availability will be provided at a later date.

Shannon was wonderful! She provided thoughtful updates and loads of photos to make us feel at ease while we were away from our fur babies! She was flexible, responsive and gave our pups loads of love and snuggles! I will absolutely book her again when we need in home care!!

Avery did a great job caring for our animals. They were happy and healthy on our return home and the house looked great. Our pup can present challenges given both the late maturing of her breed and her own quirks, but Avery dealt with them as they came and we appreciate her suggestions on how to help her.

Viky was wonderful with our German Shepherd, Zara. It's not always that easy to find a dog sitter who will be welcoming to bigger dogs. We did a meet & greet with Viky, first, and she bonded on the floor with Zara very quickly. We felt confident leaving Zara with Viky, who sent us photos of our girl for the evening she was there. It's also reassuring that Viky has animal training and has worked in a kennel. We will definitely be using Viky again to take care of our big baby girl.

This is our second time booking with Jessica and we couldn't be happier and more assured with our decision to book again. We've had several sitters over the years as we've moved to different cities and Jessica is by far the most conscientious, caring and considerate sitter we've had. We have a kitty with kidney disease and she went above and beyond in being attentive to her needs and making sure she was comfortable while we were away. She is highly dependable and a great communicator. Our other pets have come to love and trust her and she treats them like her own. We were away for a few weeks and even seemed like our house was cleaner than when we left it. Thanks, Jessica, for being so amazing - our family truly appreciates it!

This is long overdue, but Rebecca was an absolute pro in every way, from meeting Chadwick for a few minutes before watching over him and sending pictures. She told me Chad took to her right after we left for a night out, and he was a happy buddy when we got home. Top marks.

Hilary was great. Her house is perfect for dogs - nice big yard and fully fenced in. She was very responsive and sent lots of good pictures. Our dogs took to her from the first meeting and we could tell the feeling was mutual. We didn't worry once about them being with Hilary, we knew they were in good hands.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pasadena walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pasadena maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pasadena choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pasadena. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
