“First time having a new sitter take care of my pups in a very long time and we got so lucky with Kathleen! She took great care of both my dogs, administered meds, and provided regular updates that helped me also enjoy my time off. Absolutely recommend!”

“Jessica was wonderful, she stayed with our kitty for a few days and did a great job giving him the love and affection he needed while we were away. She was extremely reliable and took all instructions to the dot. Plus she is very pleasant and we totally enjoyed meeting her and getting to know her. We are so grateful we found her, and we will definitely book her again! Thank you, Jessica!”

“Avery was simply the best puppy/house sitter we could ask for. Our puppy fell in love with her and we got many smiling pictures and videos of him while we were away. Her job wasn't easy-- she was here over the 4th of July with a puppy who is very scared of fireworks. But she handled the situation with confidence and comforted our dog like a absolute pro. She truly went above and beyond to not only care for our active puppy, but care for our house as well. We could not recommend her more. Thanks, Avery!”

“Rebecca was a wonderful sitter for our dog, Otis, while we were away. She took great care of up, provided lots of updates, and left our home immaculately clean! We will definitely book again.”

“Limari was absolutely amazing! She was always on time, followed every instruction perfectly, and often stayed one step ahead, which gave me such peace of mind. She took wonderful care of Pang Pang and my two cats, and it was clear they felt comfortable and well-loved in her care. I’m so grateful for her attention to detail, her reliability, and how smoothly everything went while I was away. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and dependable sitter!”

“Lori is a wonderful cat sitter. She was communicative with us each day and bonded immediately with Roger, our cat. She took great care of him while we were away and left without any trace in the house. I’d highly recommend Lori for cat sitting and we plan to rebook her for our next trip!”

“Amanda was amazing with our pup over the holiday weekend. Our anxious dog settled with her so quickly and even came to her for pets and play. We'll definitely be reaching out to book Amanda again!”

“Namie is great! She is attentive and kind. She took excellent care of my sweet senior dog with separation anxiety and followed all my directions. Throughout her stay, Namie sent me pictures and gave me thoughtful updates. When I returned home, my dog was happy and comfortable. :) I will definitely ask her to provide house / dog sitting again!”

“Jenna is extremely reliable and responsive. She took amazing care of my senior cat, Kobe, who has many special needs (including administering a kitty asthma inhaler) and is a semi-disabled kitty. When she visited, I could see how much she cared about ensuring Kobe would have the best support while I was out. She sent me daily detailed updates (with his cutest photos), and I was fully relaxed knowing he was in great hands. All photos I received showed Kobe looking comfortable and relaxed (even cuddling up on the couch). She's very organized and I even returned to a cleaner apartment than I had left. Thank you, Jenna!”

“I would highly recommend Laura for your pet sitting needs. We booked Laura to stay overnight in our home to care for our 4 dogs, one of them was a 9 week old puppy who needed lots of love and attention. Laura made it a priority to make sure our pups had all of her attention and love. She was fantastic with all the dogs and they loved her. She took them on walks, cuddled and slept with them, and provided us lots of pictures. She is very professional and respectful. We felt very comfortable having her in our home. We will definitely use her again!!”

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life, and caring for them feels natural to me. I’m patient, calm, and really pay attention to each dog’s personality. I’m used to walking energetic pups, giving extra love to shy or senior dogs, and keeping routines just the way owners prefer. Friends and neighbors always trust me because I treat every pet like they’re part of my family. Your dog will get lots of care, love, and happy walks with me. Pet care fits really naturally into my daily routine. I always start and end my day with walks, playtime, and check-ins, so caring for pets easily fits around my work and schedule. I make plenty of time for feeding, potty breaks, cuddles, and exercise. Whether it’s morning, afternoon, or evening, I make sure each pet gets consistent love and attention throughout the day. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their routines exactly how the owner prefers. I make sure they get enough walks, playtime, feeding, water, and any special care they need. I keep their space clean, give lots of attention, and make sure they feel safe and relaxed while their family is away.
“Kevin was super easy to communicate with and stayed in touch while I was out of town. He was extremely responsible and took great care of my special needs dogs. I’ll definitely re-hire Kevin!”

“Kiyomi took such good care of our two dogs while our family was on vacation that we were able to truly enjoy our vacation without worrying about anything. Our lucky dogs got more walks than they get with us on a normal basis, and she even did some light training or reinforcement of training and games with them to keep their interest up. She sent batches pf photos daily with an update of what they did that day which our kids loved since they missed the dogs so much. And our dogs looked so happy and relaxed in the photos - I could tell they were very comfortable with Kiyomi. Would definitely rebook Kiyomi the next time we are out of town.”

About: Hi I’m Queena! I have had fur babies of my own since as long as I can remember. Growing up with big dogs I’ve also gotten well versed in training and learning about them. I specialize in bigger breeds such as German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Akitas and Pit Bulls. Currently I have a special needs pup and he is my world, caring for him has opened me to many new experiences and hardships. I focus a lot on dietary nutrition and care as a sitter , especially for puppies and senior pups. Over the years I have participated in working dog training to further my knowledge in handling and protection in other breeds such Dobermans and other Bully breeds. Weekdays are preferred, open to weekends too but I’d need notice ahead of time. I can home-sit for up to a week. My off day is Wednesday. I can provide a safe and trusting relationship with your pup(s) when you are away. That includes hourly updates of pictures or videos, and a report at the end of the day. I understand how daunting and uneasy it could be to leave your fur children at home and in care of someone else, as I have also experienced this; I will communicate thoroughly with you to put an ease on your mind. Their daily necessities will be provided (of course!), and any special needs will be fulfilled and reported as well.
“Courtney is an outstanding dog professional, experienced, confident, reliable, honest, on time, and she has the greatest personality. We needed an experienced dog sitter & handler for our dog Chuck to sit for an entire day and evening at our house. Courtney turned out to be the perfect Rover-choice, in full agreement with her great reviews! Chuck is a three year old high energy working line sable German Shepherd police dog. He was born, raised, and trained in Germany. Courtney and Chuck quickly bonded. She quickly learned the few German commands needed for sitting and walking purpose. She also quickly learned about the personality and traits of a dog like Chuck from a write-up summary that we handed over. Courtney kept updating us during her sit, walk, play, and feeding. She also sent us pictures. Chuck clearly fell in love with Courtney. When she left he was whining and he did not want her to leave 😀. Courtney is simply the best of the best!”

“Sarah and David are my pup's main walkers and sitters and have been lifesavers for me over the past few years. My dog Penny is a sweetie but also big and not always easy to watch or walk. Sarah and David have done so happily and even taught her how to use a gentle leader leash. I appreciate them a lot!”

“Kathy is wonderful! She’s kind, friendly, and incredibly skilled and focus with our fur bebe, Pumpkin. He’s quite shy, and she takes her time to get to know him and build trust. We look forward to more doggo care with Kathy!”

“Emilie is the perfect sitter for my cat Bunny! I really wanted to find someone who Bunny felt comfortable with and who I could trust to look after her, and I am so, so glad I found Emilie. Emilie has the best energy and they are kind, attentive, and caring to both my cat and the space. Having someone I trust in my home to look after my cat as well as the peace of mind I felt while I was away is deeply invaluable to me. And I love that Bunny now has a new friend! I just got home and Bunny is so relaxed and calm- it just reaffirms that choosing Emilie was the right and best choice. Already booked them for another weekend!”

Viky was wonderful with our German Shepherd, Zara. It's not always that easy to find a dog sitter who will be welcoming to bigger dogs. We did a meet & greet with Viky, first, and she bonded on the floor with Zara very quickly. We felt confident leaving Zara with Viky, who sent us photos of our girl for the evening she was there. It's also reassuring that Viky has animal training and has worked in a kennel. We will definitely be using Viky again to take care of our big baby girl.

This is our second time booking with Jessica and we couldn't be happier and more assured with our decision to book again. We've had several sitters over the years as we've moved to different cities and Jessica is by far the most conscientious, caring and considerate sitter we've had. We have a kitty with kidney disease and she went above and beyond in being attentive to her needs and making sure she was comfortable while we were away. She is highly dependable and a great communicator. Our other pets have come to love and trust her and she treats them like her own. We were away for a few weeks and even seemed like our house was cleaner than when we left it. Thanks, Jessica, for being so amazing - our family truly appreciates it!

This is long overdue, but Rebecca was an absolute pro in every way, from meeting Chadwick for a few minutes before watching over him and sending pictures. She told me Chad took to her right after we left for a night out, and he was a happy buddy when we got home. Top marks.

Limari was fantastic! On time, communicative, and our pup is so comfortable with her, she fell asleep within minutes of Limari getting here. We received pictures and updates and it was so clear that our dog was being well taken care of and loved. Our senior dog requires extra care like medications and diaper changes, and Limari handled everything with ease. We are so grateful for Limari’s dedication and professionalism, and would highly recommend her to others!

We love whenever Avery is able to hang with our pup while we are out of town. He tends to need a minute to warmup, but her patience with him is appreciated and puts us at ease while we are out of town. She will treat your home with respect while you are away and you will return with things looking exactly the way you left them (if not better).

Peggy was an absolute dream! I always get a little nervous leaving my cat with someone new but my cat warmed up to Peggy so quickly because she has such a warm and loving energy. She was very communicative and sent adorable photo and video updates. Do not miss out on having Peggy care for your pets. Will absolutely be reaching back out to her! She’s simply the best.

Kevin took wonderful care of our dog, Watson, while we were away from June 25 to July 2. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. He took Watson on walks to parks and trails, played ball with him using a long leash so he could safely enjoy the feeling of being off leash, followed all of our feeding instructions, and kept us updated with photos and messages throughout our trip. We always felt connected and knew Watson was in great hands. What impressed us most was how observant Kevin was. Everything he told us about Watson matched his personality perfectly, which reassured us that he was truly paying attention and getting to know him as an individual. It’s clear that Kevin understands dogs, genuinely cares about them, and gives them the love and attention they deserve. We came home to a happy, healthy dog, and that says everything. We highly recommend Kevin and would absolutely trust him with Watson again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Oak Knoll walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Oak Knoll maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oak Knoll choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oak Knoll. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
