“Avery was so great with my senior gals that require a lot of care and attention. She also took great care of my home while I was away and was very communicative throughout the stay.”

“Anna was great! She provided in-my-home care for my labradoodle puppy while I was on vacation. She was reliable and communicative. She took great care of my little guy and left the house nice and neat too. I would definitely hire her again!”

“Jessica took wonderful care of our boxer. We appreciated her great communication and updates with photos while we were away. We came home to a tidy house and a very happy dog. Will definitely be booking again!”

“This is the second time I've hired Kathleen to look after my dogs and my house. She has always been incredibly responsive and responsible. She consistently goes above and beyond both with my dogs (even hand feeds my spoiled little one when she's being stubborn) and my house (there was a leak Kathleen went out of her way to try and diagnose, she keeps my plants alive and happy, and my house spotless). I trust her completely and all my animals love her. She sends frequent updates with cute pics, and you can tell she loves all living things. My dogs love her right back and appreciate having a snuggle buddy. She's absolutely wonderful!”
“Lori is wonderful! Excellent communication and just a lovely person, we felt very good about leaving our dogs with her, they were very well taken care of! Highly recommend.”

“Limari was great w my pups, she was communicative and flexible with my newness to the app in a few years. The pups seems happy and the house looked better than I left it! I'll certainly be using her services in the future”

I have a profound love and respect for any animal and would love to share my services/experience with you! I’ve been surrounded by animals since I was in diapers and have developed such a deep respect and love for any pet I’ve come across. I’ve had cats, dogs, birds, hamsters, fish, you name it! I’ve raised the majority of them from their baby stage such as their puppy/kitten stage. I also have had the pleasure of giving them a beautiful life and led them into their senior stage. I also volunteer at cat shelters and have pet sat for friends and family members. I make it a priority to provide a safe and welcoming environment so any pet under my care can feel comfortable with me. I also love to play for whatever time your pet needs and give joy to every pet under my care. I understand every furry friend is unique and different from one another so any accommodation or request you may have, I am more than open to adjusting! I currently have three of my own. I have a husky, shih tzu and a Siamese cat! So I have a very broad experience with different sized pets and I’ve enjoyed every second of it. I have a very open and flexible schedule and I would love to provide my services to you! As I work with the local district, I have all of summer available! So it still allows me to have a very open/flexible schedule. I can do weekdays, weekends, including holidays! I’m available from early in the AM to late at night. Weekends include anytime after 2pm. I have a gated porch with lots of room for play and a quiet calm neighborhood for long walks and quality time with your pet. I can also administer medication and crate or provide any instructions left by the owner.
“Rebecca was a wonderful sitter for our dog, Otis, while we were away. She took great care of up, provided lots of updates, and left our home immaculately clean! We will definitely book again.”

“I would highly recommend Laura for your pet sitting needs. We booked Laura to stay overnight in our home to care for our 4 dogs, one of them was a 9 week old puppy who needed lots of love and attention. Laura made it a priority to make sure our pups had all of her attention and love. She was fantastic with all the dogs and they loved her. She took them on walks, cuddled and slept with them, and provided us lots of pictures. She is very professional and respectful. We felt very comfortable having her in our home. We will definitely use her again!!”

“There is no better feeling than knowing you can go out of town and your pets will be cared for as if you were still there. Jesseca is fantastic! She is a great communicator, sent pictures and kept us updated in what was going on. We have a senior dog who can get sad and anxious and Jesseca even took her on coffee strolls with her in her (the dog’s) stroller. Our cat can be mischievous but Jesseca is clearly a pro and knew how to keep him safe and content. We will 100% try to book Jesseca the next time we go out of town.”

“Chelsea was absolutely fantastic again with Butler! She was communicative, took plenty of photos, and took amazing care of him. I trust Chelsea completely and she was absolutely wonderful. Looking forward to the next time!”

“Sonia was great about communicating with us throughout the weekend. The house was in great shape and our dog appeared relaxed and well-cared for when we came home. Thanks, Sonia!”

“Emily is amazing! They took such good care of my 2 kitties as well as my home, would 100% book them again :) Super communicative and I felt at ease leaving everything in their hands, most importantly, my kitties were so comfy and relaxed when I got home.”

“Probably the best dog sitter I’ve ever had! Both of my dogs seemed to absolutely love Sarah and her husband. She sent updates and photos every day and even taught them a new game! Never had to stress or worry about my kiddos when I was gone. I knew they were in excellent hands. Will 10000% book with her and her only! :D”

We love whenever Avery is able to hang with our pup while we are out of town. He tends to need a minute to warmup, but her patience with him is appreciated and puts us at ease while we are out of town. She will treat your home with respect while you are away and you will return with things looking exactly the way you left them (if not better).

Peggy was an absolute dream! I always get a little nervous leaving my cat with someone new but my cat warmed up to Peggy so quickly because she has such a warm and loving energy. She was very communicative and sent adorable photo and video updates. Do not miss out on having Peggy care for your pets. Will absolutely be reaching back out to her! She’s simply the best.

Kevin took wonderful care of our dog, Watson, while we were away from June 25 to July 2. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. He took Watson on walks to parks and trails, played ball with him using a long leash so he could safely enjoy the feeling of being off leash, followed all of our feeding instructions, and kept us updated with photos and messages throughout our trip. We always felt connected and knew Watson was in great hands. What impressed us most was how observant Kevin was. Everything he told us about Watson matched his personality perfectly, which reassured us that he was truly paying attention and getting to know him as an individual. It’s clear that Kevin understands dogs, genuinely cares about them, and gives them the love and attention they deserve. We came home to a happy, healthy dog, and that says everything. We highly recommend Kevin and would absolutely trust him with Watson again.

I cannot say enough great things about Laura! We went on a 19 day trip. This was the longest we have ever been away from our dog, Rufus. Laura took such great care of Rufus. She sent us daily photos. It was clear that Rufus was super happy and well cared for. This allowed us to enjoy our trip. Laura stayed at our house with Rufus, and our house was cleaner when we came home than when we left? I wholeheartedly recommend Laura. She is amazing!

Shirley was a wonderful sitter! Sent great photos and updates multiple times a day, and both of my pets seemed so happy—even our cat, who is usually shy and hides from sitters, spent her weekend out and about in the living room. Would definitely ask her to care for our girls again!
Patrick stayed with our dog and cats for about a week and we've never felt so at ease on a trip knowing they were with him. He was always checking in and sending us photos and you can tell he truly enjoys spending time with animals and cares for them. It was also our dog's birthday and he made sure she got a special walk and treats which was very sweet! Thank you so much again Patrick!!!

Mari is fantastic and clearly a cat lover - and understands cats! When she came to meet Busy for the first time, she took all the time needed to bond with my kitty and ask all questions about her care. During her time with Busy, I received the cutest photos and videos showing my kitty super comfortable, getting all her play time, and cozying up for naps every day during her stay. Mari also maintained my apartment extremely well and I’m very thankful for that! I am so happy Mari is now in our lives and I wouldn’t think twice before booking her again!

Neysa stayed with our two dogs and skittish cat. They were able to totally win over all our fur crew. Their excellent care meant that we could enjoy our vacation without concern for our family left behind. We will definitely be calling on Neysa again! They are amazing!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Oak Knoll walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Oak Knoll maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oak Knoll choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oak Knoll. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
