“Avery is terrific - you'll enjoy your trip knowing your pets are in good hands! Very communicative, lots of photos and updates/information in an appropriate time and fashion. Would reccommend to friends and would use her again!”

“Sahirah was absolutely amazing with my dogs. She was very communicative with me and loving towards my animals. She sent me plenty of pictures and was very responsive. I highly reccomend her!”

“Alvin is an exceptional house/petsitter. I was completely at ease on our trip because he is competent, trustworthy, mature and responsible and committed to follow through with all the details. Staying in touch with Alvin was perfect as he sent us regular updates and always responded really quickly. Alvin made sure to let the gardeners in by unlocking the gate and securing the doggy door to make sure our pup didn't interfere with their work. He made sure the trash was taken out and the bins replaced and followed all security protocol. Took care of the property and kept the plants watered. Our pup accepted him right away and she had a great buddy to hang with while we were gone. She got regular walks, play times, all her supplements and meds, and all the care in the world. He also made sure our fish were fed properly. Alvin exceeded all of my expectations.”

“Limari was awesome! She took great care of our little chihuahua Frankie for 4 nights while we were out of town. We received tons of photos and daily updates! she was very responsible and professional. Will definitely be using her again !”

About: Hi, I’m Steven— a retired restaurant manager who brings the same level of responsibility, consistency, and attention to detail to pet care. I’m calm, patient, and dependable, which helps dogs feel safe and relaxed with me. I already dogsit most of the year, and many of my regular clients encourage me to open up more availability on Rover so more owners can benefit from the care I provide. I do especially well with dogs who prefer steady routines, gentle handling, and clear communication. Whether your dog is energetic or more laid-back, I focus on providing reliable, attentive care and making sure they feel comfortable and well looked after at all times. For boarding and day care, your loved one would be staying in a dog-free fenced-in home, allowing for a calm, low-stress environment and more individualized attention. I only provide care for one family at a time. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine because I’m retired and have very open availability. I don’t juggle other work commitments, so your pet’s schedule becomes my schedule. This allows me to be flexible with feeding times, walks, medication needs, and companionship throughout the day. I’m able to give pets the attention and consistency they deserve rather than fitting them in between other obligations. Red Cross Cat and Dog First Aid Certified. Your loved one is unique, so I always tailor my care to specific needs and routines. In your home or out, I follow your instructions closely for feeding, walks, medications, and comfort habits so your pet experiences as little disruption as possible. I keep a calm, low-stress environment and prioritize safety at all times — secure double doors, careful leash handling, and close supervision during walks and play. My goal is for your dog to feel safe, understood, and genuinely cared for while you’re away.
“Best sitter ever! Olivia is kind, responsive and reliable... And most importantly, my dogs felt comfortable around her. Olivia sent videos and photo updates throughout the evening. This is my new go to person! 😊”

“Michelle is awesome. She gave lots of updates throughout he stay and was super responsive and just all around the best house and pet sitter. Thank you Michelle!”

“Elizabeth always takes great care of our animals. We have complete confidence leaving our home in her capable hands. Will definitely give her a call the next time we need housesitting.”

About: I’m currently a proud cat mom to a sweet orange tabby named Cheese! I also have hands-on experience caring for dogs of all sizes and ages. I previously volunteered with the Dog Adoption & Welfare Group, where I walked, bathed, fed, cleaned up after, and played with dogs regularly. I’ve cared for energetic puppies, gentle senior dogs, and large breeds, and I’m comfortable handling different temperaments. I genuinely love spending time with animals and always treat every pet like my own—with patience, attention, and lots of love. I’m a freelance graphic designer with a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate quality time to pet care. I’m available for morning and evening visits or walks, and I can easily adjust my routine to meet your pet’s needs. While I’m generally unavailable during midday hours, I make sure mornings and evenings are calm, consistent, and full of care and attention. Whether it’s breakfast cuddles or a peaceful evening check-in, your pet will have a reliable and loving companion. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat the space with the utmost respect—just like I would my own. I make sure your pet stays safe, comfortable, and calm in their familiar environment. I always follow your specific care instructions carefully, from feeding schedules to favorite toys and routines. I pay close attention to details, whether that’s making sure doors are securely closed, food is stored properly, or litter boxes and water bowls are kept clean and fresh. I believe in building trust through consistency, patience, and open communication—so you’ll always get updates and photos, and your pet will always get gentle, loving care.
About: If you’re looking for someone who absolutely adores animals AND is responsible/ reliable then I am your gal! I have a profound love and respect for any animal and would love to share my services/experience with you! I’ve been surrounded by animals since I was in diapers and have developed such a deep respect and love for any pet I’ve come across. I’ve had cats, dogs, birds, hamsters, fish, you name it! I’ve raised the majority of them from their baby stage such as their puppy/kitten stage. I also have had the pleasure of giving them a beautiful life and led them into their senior stage. I also volunteer at cat shelters and have pet sat for friends and family members. I make it a priority to provide a safe and welcoming environment so any pet under my care can feel comfortable with me. I also love to play for whatever time your pet needs and give joy to every pet under my care. My past clients would describe me as very reliable, patient, warm, and very flexible and understanding of certain needs your pet may have. I understand every furry friend is unique and different from one another so any accommodation or request you may have, I am more than open to adjusting! I currently have three of my own. I have a husky, shih tzu and a Siamese cat! So I have a very broad experience with different sized pets and I’ve enjoyed every second of it. I have a very open and flexible schedule and I would love to provide my services to you! As I work with the local district, I have all of summer available! So it still allows me to have a very open/flexible schedule. I can do weekdays, weekends, including holidays! I’m available from early in the AM to late at night. Weekends include anytime after 2pm. I have a gated porch with lots of room for play and a quiet calm neighborhood for long walks and quality time with your pet. I can also administer medication and crate or provide any instructions left by the owner.
“Fantastic three days! Carrie was thoughtful, communicative, and always on time. She took such wonderful, gentle care of our senior pup. Will definitely be booking again!”

“Gabriella was so great!! She sent me the cutest photos and was very communicative with how it was going while I was away. My dog was even willing to go on a walk with her which is a huge accomplishment because Nama usually doesn’t like to leave the house if I’m not home. Looking forward to having Gabriella watch Nama again in the future!”

“The best gift when you can't take your companions on a trip is to know someone will take care of them and give you a peace of mind. Ashley did. She is amazing and is a great communicator. I left behind a 14 year old blob and a 6 years skittish lab and I was worried about the younger pup. It was the 14 year old senior that kept Ashley up at night. Ashley kept me posted on the situation, we kept the communication open to make sure Hunter is ok. Things happened but the best way to know how awesome your substitute is, is to experience their problem solving ability. Ashley got everything under control. I highly recommend Ashley and would love to get her help again. She is definitely more than 5 stars rating.”

“Emily was amazing! She has such great energy—easygoing, kind, and a wonderful communicator. She had so much patience with my senior rescue maltipoo and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. I could tell my pup was in caring hands. I’d definitely recommend her and will be booking with her again!”

“Haley was wonderful taking care of our dog and home. We have already booked her for multiple dates. Bubby was happy so we were happy! She also had no problem giving him his meds.”

“Having Gabriana as our dog sitter gives us such peace of mind while we are away because we know our dog is getting the best care. Gabriana sends us daily updates, notifies us of any concerns, takes excellent care of our home, caters to our dogs special needs, and our anxious pup loves her! Thank you so much, Gabriana!”

“Jessica took wonderful care of our boxer. We appreciated her great communication and updates with photos while we were away. We came home to a tidy house and a very happy dog. Will definitely be booking again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Monterey Park
We love whenever Avery is able to hang with our pup while we are out of town. He tends to need a minute to warmup, but her patience with him is appreciated and puts us at ease while we are out of town. She will treat your home with respect while you are away and you will return with things looking exactly the way you left them (if not better).

Jovi can be quite particular with whom he is comfortable with, so it was a great sign that he did not bark at Polli at our meet and greet. When she arrived for sitting, he was just fine with her in the apartment and didn't try to bark at her to leave. It is always nice to feel your dog is comfortable when leaving! I was gone for a week and when I got home Jovi was clearly well cared for. Polli did a great job getting new pony tails for him so he could see, the house was clean, and Jovi was in good spirits!

This was my first time using Rover. I was very concerned as my older dog had some health issues arise right before I left. Alvin was amazing. He was constantly advising me about my dogs and any change of normal behavior. He was able to take care of the meds she needed and all was good. I was also surprised my dogs went for walks with him, as I was certain they would not go with someone else. He truly cared that my dogs were healthy including mentally making sure they had activity. He stayed at my house and left it the same condition I left it. I would highly recommended using Alvin and plan to use him again on my next trip. He also took care of watering my plants while I was gone.

Aleena is absolutely wonderful! She recently watched our two senior Chihuahuas, Piggy and Lucy, and we couldn't be happier with the care they received. Since our dogs are older, we are always a bit nervous leaving them, but Aleena made us feel at ease right away. She was incredibly responsive and provided consistent updates and photos, which we truly appreciated. It was clear that they felt completely comfortable around her and really thrived with her company. If you are looking for someone trustworthy, communicative, and genuinely kind to animals, we highly recommend Aleena. We will definitely be hiring her again!

Michelle did an amazing job with our 14 week old puppy, Jackie. I was so nervous to find someone who would watch her carefully and give her the type of care we wanted her to have, being such a young pup and all. Michelle went above and beyond to follow our instructions carefully, show up right on time, play with her a lot, and provide constant updates! For a worried dog parent, having this level of comfort with our dog-sitter was everything. She also left the house in pristine condition! She really cared for our fur baby and it showed!! I was worry free the entire time, which is the best way to feel when leaving your puppy in the hands of someone new!

Kelsey last-minute covered for us for a week when our sitter fell through. She came to meet us at a momemt's notice and our dog immediately took to her. Sje also happens to be a wonderfully kind person. She was so responsive and responsible with our dog and our home. So much so that we asked her to come back for another week! Don't hesitate to book with Kelsey- she's worth it and I promise you won't be disappointed.

Courtney was a fantastic cat sitter. She took wonderful care of her and handled Gaia’s asthma medication with so much patience and confidence, even during those first few days when it can be a bit tricky. It was such a relief knowing Gaia was in calm, capable hands. I’m really grateful for the care and attention Courtney gave her, and I’d happily recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate sitter.

Stephanie is a super star sitter! Our dog is sweet but has separation anxiety. Stephanie made her so comfortable that Etta was all smiles in all of her check in photos and videos. This helped us fully enjoy our trip knowing our pup was in great hands. Also, the photos and videos Stephanie sent were so cute, well captioned, and well-timed. I had some detailed instructions and Stephanie followed them all excellently. Her excellent communication and understanding helped manage my own anxieties about leaving Etta at home. She was extremely clean and left our place looking great. Also very reliable, professional, and punctual. My husband and I could not have asked for a better experience and would 100% work with Stephanie again!

Corina has been absolutely wonderful with my Bailey! She goes above and beyond to ensure she’s well cared for and happy. I’ve rebooked with her multiple times and will continue to do so. I highly recommend Corina for anyone looking for exceptional care on their next booking.

We really enjoyed Crystal and would have her watch our animals again. We had our dog stay at my mother's house in Monterey Park along with my mother's cat. Before the booking began she came and met with us at the house to meet the animals and get the routine. That was really reassuring. Crystal cared for both animals. She house sat for us for 6 nights, fed the cat and dog and also walked our dog. Our dog was afraid to be walked at first so Crystal let her chill, did not pressure her and by day 3 our dog walked with her. All the while Crystal was communicating about our dog's situation which was really nice. She sent pictures and gave updates and responded to our messages promptly. She had great prices and our dog and cat are very happy.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Monterey Park on Rover is $59.94 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 15,433 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Monterey Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Monterey Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Monterey Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Monterey Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Monterey Park. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
