“We (more importantly Cody) loved his time at Joyce's! We really appreciated the updates and pictures too throughout his stay! Cody seemed to have warmed up so quickly and had a blast! We are definitely going to rebook with Joyce!”

“He was truly a lifesaver. I needed someone last minute while visiting Los Angeles, and he responded very quickly, which was incredibly helpful and reassuring. He was immediately accommodating and even made time for a meet-and-greet on short notice. He cared for my dog on two separate days and kept me updated throughout with pictures, videos, and messages about how she was doing, including whether she had eaten. He also took her on frequent walks, which she clearly enjoyed. When I picked her up, she was happy to see me and then went straight to bed as soon as we got home, which told me she had a full and active day. He was also very flexible and accommodating with both drop-off and pick-up times. I truly appreciated his care, communication, and reliability, and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter.”

“Cara checked all the boxes that we were looking for. From the hand off to pick up and everything in between, she was attentive to all of Teddy’s needs and his special instructions e.g. nuanced way to prepare his meal, using the water bottle we provided and making sure he doesn’t lick his paws. What I appreciated the most were the plethora of photo and video updates throughout the day to let us know how he was doing. Will definitely be booking another stay again soon!”

“Thankfully, we were able to book on short notice and we were lucky to find Sandra! She provided specialized care and attentiveness for my older pup who loved going to see her!”

“Very professional. Provided updates without me asking. I personally don’t need it knowing my dog is very well behave, but to have him go above and beyond was just amazing. I highly recommend Mark!”

“Sylvia is the best!! Her home is a doggy dream with lots of comfy outdoor and covered space. Two lovely dogs that get along with mine great and I always get lots of updates about how everyone is doing together. My dog comes home happy and tired every week! Thank you ☺️☺️”

“Our pup had the best time with Amanda, he was happy when we dropped him off and happy when we picked him up the next day. Amanda was communicative, flexible, and friendly. We will be using her again!!”

“My timid 5yo lab has never been away from me or my parents but Michelle kept my dog safe and smiling (with pics/vids as proof) during her daycares. Highly recommended!”

“Selien is a kind and gentle puppy sitter! Her place is magical for our puppy Ghibli! We felt at ease and Ghibli is so happy when she comes back from Selien’s place. When I pick her up, the way Ghibli’s says bye to her is how I can tell she loves Selien. I’m like chopped liver for a bit while Ghibli says goodbye lol”

“Our dog loves going to visit Sona! The environment is safe, plenty of space to play, and he returns home a happy pooch. We get regular updates and trust he is going to enjoy his stay. We highly recommend Sona’s pet sitting services.”

“Laura (also goes by Stella) was amazing with Nala. She took her out on 3 potty breaks throughout the day and sent a few pictures to keep me updated. Nala is typically a shy and timid dog, but she quickly got comfortable with Laura. I will definitely book her services again!”

About: Hi there! My name is Michele, and I understand how important it is to find reliable caretakers you can trust. I approach dogs with care and kindness, and I pay attention. I prioritize following your instructions and making sure your dog is comfortable and safe with me. I have a deep history as a dog owner. My mom had a knack for picking up strays and taking in fosters, so I have been providing dog care my whole life. I was 9 years old when I first helped raise a litter of bottle babies, and dogs of all sizes and breeds were my brothers and sisters as I grew up. I have had the good fortune of having two soul dogs in my lifetime, one of whom recently passed away from lymphoma and its complications. During our two-year cancer battle, I learned a lot about canine nutrition, care for elderly and disabled dogs, and at-home medication processes including oxygen administration. Dogs are some of our best family members. I love all dogs, and I would love to meet yours! I have a flexible schedule each week. I have a preference for walks in the mornings and afternoons, avoiding the hottest temperatures, but can accommodate a wide range of times. For boarding and overnights, I prioritize listening to your instructions in regards to your dog's preferences, habits, and level of training. If your dog will be comfortable having the run of the house, I am comfortable with allowing them to explore my home as they board with me; alternately, if your dog does better in more contained environments, we can set up your crate, pen, etc or limit their range to one area of the house. We have a small, maintained side yard that dogs are welcome in, but no back yard. When entering a client's home, I will behave with the utmost respect, and only enter areas of the home necessary for instructed dog care. For overnight stays at clients' homes, I reserve the discretion to limit my hours depending on any safety concerns, but will not change plans without good faith attempts at communicating with you to find solutions that work for us both.
“I have used Wing and Dustin for doggy day care a couple of times, so that I can enjoy the beach when visiting friends in Santa Monica. My girl, Chloe, always leaves happy and tired. Thanks Guys!!”

Madison was a life safer after my sweet Hazel’s spay surgery. I was required to go to work on short notice the day after her surgery so not only was my pup not feeling great but she had never been left with anyone else or spent her day at an unfamiliar place. I was anxious about leaving her because she can be a pretty shy and nervous girl to begin with and she had already had a pretty traumatic day so as a dog mom, I was pretty worried how all that stress may show up in someone else’s home. Madison was very patient at drop off and aloud Hazel the time and space needed to be shy but curious and approached her gently. She sent immediate communication after I left to let me know how she was settling in and continued to provide pictures and updates throughout the day which was very appreciated and put my mind at ease. I felt confident Hazel was safe and being cared for just as well as she would be at home. Definitely keeping Madison in mind for any dog or cat sitting needs going forward.

Alvin was great! I appreciate that he accommodated me at the last minute and gave great tips and advice for my puppy who got along great with him. He sent several pics throughout the day. I will definitely be reaching out to Alvin again when I need a sitter or for overnight stays. I highly recommend him!

This was my second time using Steven’s services and he is always so communicative. I love that he’s constantly keeping me updated about my dog and sending pictures. It puts my mind at ease knowing he is in such good hands. Steven goes out of his way to accommodate my last minute requests and I appreciate it so much because it allows me to go to events without leaving my dog alone and full of anxiety. Thank you Steven!

Spectacular dog sitter! I'm usually anxious about leaving my fur baby with a new person, but Sona immediately melted that away by answering questions and providing thorough information about her dogs and day care procedures. Our dog is high energy and Sona did not seem to mind, nor did she mind our last minute booking. And when our dog was nervous about eating dinner (which we told her not to worry about), Sona fed our dog by hand! I am so touched by her incredible care. Today our dog is passed out sleeping from her day of fun.

Javey took excellent care of Penny. I could tell she had a very active day with his big dogs Panko and Boba because she slept hard when she got home. They are gentle giants, don’t let their size concern you. They are well behaved and so sweet. Javey kept in constant contact throughout the stay with photos and texts, so I knew she was fine the whole time.

Laura (also goes by Stella) was amazing with Nala. She took her out on 3 potty breaks throughout the day and sent a few pictures to keep me updated. Nala is typically a shy and timid dog, but she quickly got comfortable with Laura. I will definitely book her services again!

I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! She absolutely spoiled my puppy with love and attention, and it gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. She sent tons of adorable photos and videos throughout his stay, which made me feel so connected while I was away. It’s clear she truly loves what she does! Kashy was so happy. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and thoughtful sitter!

Isabel is truly a gem! So happy to have found her! I was a little worried about how one of our dogs would behave given her track history and made sure to explain it all to Isabel. She didn't flinch. She was confident and reassured us that Winnie was in good hands and it turns out she absolutely was. It really helps to feel heard about all of concerns and that's exactly what Isabel did. Isabel was so friendly greeting us at the door, invited us in, and showed us around her space. Throughout the day she sent plenty of pics and videos of their walks and cuddle sessions. I was put at ease knowing our pups were in the best hands. Thank you so much Isabel! Hope to use you again in the future!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Monterey Park commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
