Salien was super nice and my dog seemed to really like her. She sent me many photos throughout the day. I felt comfortable leaving my baby there and that’s a hard thing for me to say since this was the first time I left him in somebody else’s care?.

About: *I just have one dog in my home. The other dog in my profile is my mom’s.* I’ve always had dogs and have taken care of puppies, seniors and have had to give medicine including IVs, insulin, liquid and pills. I have watched friends and family’s dogs in the past and really enjoy it! I work from home so will be very present if your dog is staying with me. I have a small pug mix as well and walk her at least once a day and would take your dog with us if they’re up for it. I also have a doggy door for easy potty breaks. My yard is fenced and I keep my home neat with nothing laying around for dogs to get a hold of. My yard is also neat and clean.

About: First-time Rover members can get a discount by using our referral code! https://www.rover.com/sit/andrud63951 We are pet owners with experience raising and caring for plenty of different animals (fish, lizards, birds, dogs, and cats)! My wife and I recently adopted two kitten siblings that we named Cannoli and Mochi. We are excited to welcome your pets into our home and treat them like a part of our family, just like they deserve! Caring for animals has always been a natural part of our daily lives. We love starting our mornings with a walk or some playtime. Throughout the day, we make sure our pets receive plenty of attention, love, and consistency with meals, bathroom breaks, and downtime. One of us works from home, and the other is a full-time pet sitter, so we have plenty of flexibility in our schedule to build our days around our pets' needs and routines. When we are caring for pets in our home, we treat them like part of the family. We have dedicated spaces to make sure they have access to cozy spots to relax, fresh water, and regular meals. We also dedicate parts of our day to lots of playtime, cuddles, and company. We pay attention to their moods and comfort levels, so they feel safe and loved in ways they enjoy while they’re with us. If we're caring for a pet in a client’s home, we always follow their routine closely to help the pet feel secure and keep things familiar. We take care to keep their home neat, stick to feeding and walk schedules, and send regular updates so owners know their pets are happy and in good hands.

About: I’ve worked with Animals since I was about 10 with my own Pets and taking care of others. I love animals and I even wish to become a zookeeper in the future. So taking care of animals is what I love to do. I have a pretty flexible and open schedule. I like to be active so I can handle a high energy dog and I have a high energy dog. But I can also be lazy and lay down and slow things down for lazier dogs. I have a fenced gate with a big yard and I can watch them through the glass. I can do baths if needed I have toys and I can walk them and play with them so they can get lots of interaction.I allow dogs in my house. I do have a German shepherd but I’m able to have separate areas so dogs do not have to interact or be aware of each other

Laura (also goes by Stella) was amazing with Nala. She took her out on 3 potty breaks throughout the day and sent a few pictures to keep me updated. Nala is typically a shy and timid dog, but she quickly got comfortable with Laura. I will definitely book her services again!

Cara checked all the boxes that we were looking for. From the hand off to pick up and everything in between, she was attentive to all of Teddy’s needs and his special instructions e.g. nuanced way to prepare his meal, using the water bottle we provided and making sure he doesn’t lick his paws. What I appreciated the most were the plethora of photo and video updates throughout the day to let us know how he was doing. Will definitely be booking another stay again soon!

About: I’ve had dogs in my life since I was about 10. I grew up in the country, so being around animals and helping take care of them was just a normal part of growing up. I’ve always loved dogs and genuinely enjoy spending time with them, whether that’s going for walks, playing, or just hanging out and giving them lots of attention. I have my own little pup now, who is very much my baby, so I completely understand how important it is to feel comfortable with the person you’re leaving your dog with. I’ll treat your pup like I’d want someone to treat mine—with lots of love, attention, playtime, and cuddles. Every dog is different, so I’m happy to follow their lead, whether they want to get out and explore, take a slow walk around the neighborhood, or just curl up on the couch and relax. I work in the film industry, so my schedule varies throughout the year. During breaks between productions, I have plenty of flexibility and availability for walks, drop-in visits, daycare, and overnight stays. When I’m on a project, I keep my calendar updated so you always know my availability in advance. Whether you need a last-minute walk or consistent care while I’m between projects, I’m happy to work with your schedule and provide dependable, loving care for your pup! Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. We have a fully fenced yard for safe play and live near a great hiking trail for dogs who enjoy getting outside. I also have a friendly 1½-year-old Dachshund who loves making new friends and happily plays with dogs both big and small. I’ll always follow your care instructions, keep your pup’s routine consistent, and send plenty of photo updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.

He was truly a lifesaver. I needed someone last minute while visiting Los Angeles, and he responded very quickly, which was incredibly helpful and reassuring. He was immediately accommodating and even made time for a meet-and-greet on short notice. He cared for my dog on two separate days and kept me updated throughout with pictures, videos, and messages about how she was doing, including whether she had eaten. He also took her on frequent walks, which she clearly enjoyed. When I picked her up, she was happy to see me and then went straight to bed as soon as we got home, which told me she had a full and active day. He was also very flexible and accommodating with both drop-off and pick-up times. I truly appreciated his care, communication, and reliability, and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter.

Javey took excellent care of Penny. I could tell she had a very active day with his big dogs Panko and Boba because she slept hard when she got home. They are gentle giants, don’t let their size concern you. They are well behaved and so sweet. Javey kept in constant contact throughout the stay with photos and texts, so I knew she was fine the whole time.

Roschel was wonderful—and she was assisted by two small “elves” (her children!) who loved playing and entertaining Tubby in his exciting day with them. I highly recommend Roschel: a lovely family of love and nice setting where my pup could play and run around and enjoy stimulation—and he even got in a nap! Highly recommended!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your East Los Angeles commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 8,622 sitters in East Los Angeles, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
