About: I’ve grown up with pets and have had pets most of my life. I had a Labrador for 6 years and a Chihuahua for 5. I’ve also had two cats for 3 years, and I’ve raised all my pets since they were little puppies and kittens. I love pampering my pets and I’d love the opportunity to pamper yours! I am currently studying at an online college so I have a lot of flexibility with scheduling pet care into my schedule. I just need 2 days notice of when to arrive so I can plan things out. My approach varies depending on the temperament of the pet (if they are high energy, low energy, timid, etc). If they are high energy and comfortable I’m happy to play with them and let them burn that energy off, if they’re lower energy or timid I’m happy to keep an eye on them and give them their space.

Megan is a godsend! This was my first time hiring a professional sitter and being for a week, it was the longest I was leaving my 2 cats alone. Megan not only came over for a meet n greet, but when one of my cats was unexpectedly prescribed an oral med for the week of my trip, she came over twice to practice (and was a natural!) She is so sweet and professional and I didn’t have to worry about my kitties once, she checked in every day with pics and I got to enjoy my trip. She even came over the day after to drop off my keys as I forgot to tell her where to leave them. Megan is the definition of ABOVE AND BEYOND! Can’t wait to hire her again and recommending her to every fur parent I know!

About: I have taught my dogs basic, yet necessary commands. I nurtured my 6 year old lab back to health, recovering from her TPLO surgery with no complications! I currently have 5 dogs in the family ranging from 13lbs up to 80lbs, and one funny little cat. I have always loved animals and grew up birds, iguanas, bunnies, cats, dogs and turtles. Quite frankly, I am happiest when I am with my pets and love meeting new ones whenever I get the chance. Currently I am working a part time job, only 10hrs a week. I have a pretty open schedule so I have plenty of time to spare. Since my dogs are house trained, I am confident I can spare some time to offer my services to those with tighter schedules and would be more than happy to! I work on Mondays Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1pm-4pm. If you care for services any of those days feel free to reach out! My time is a little more limited then, but I am willing to see if we can work around my work schedule! I take my dogs on regular walks (I would say abono every 2-3hrs). Although they may not need to potty I find it important to give them as much time outside as I can. When I can keep up I’ll also run/jog with my 1.5yr old pitty/staffie mix since she has a lot of energy. If I can’t due to harsh weather, I cut their treats really small and have them chase the pieces back and forth across my apartment so they get their exercise. As for my cat, she’s mostly hands off and likes to do her own lazy things, but I still give her pets and treats here and there. They are loved dearly and I make sure they feel so every day.

About: I’ve worked with Animals since I was about 10 with my own Pets and taking care of others. I love animals and I even wish to become a zookeeper in the future. So taking care of animals is what I love to do. I have a pretty flexible and open schedule. I like to be active so I can handle a high energy dog and I have a high energy dog. But I can also be lazy and lay down and slow things down for lazier dogs. I have a fenced gate with a big yard and I can watch them through the glass. I can do baths if needed I have toys and I can walk them and play with them so they can get lots of interaction.I allow dogs in my house. I do have a German shepherd but I’m able to have separate areas so dogs do not have to interact or be aware of each other

About: I had my first dog when I was a baby. My dog and I was born on same day so we have a special bond. As I got older we would go everywhere together especially to the mountains and to the beach. I would feed him and bathe him before I even bathe myself. I am a housewife and take care of my two beautiful kids. They are two and three years old. They keep me busy but I have plenty of time and love to care for a pet too. Our property is pretty large and it's also gated so your pet can feel safe running around inside. If your pet is kid friendly, my kids can join me in playing with and petting your pet. We have a small garden on the property where your pet can feel like he/ she is in nature.

Iztali was great! I was visiting from out of town with my dog so they weren’t even able to meet face to face before their first interaction, we had just FaceTimed, it all worked out so well. I was able to take my kids to Disney for two long days with no worries about our dog being taken care of. Iztali stopped in for multiple visits, was communicative and I came home to a happy dog. Xiuwen was absolutely wonderful with my cat! She went above and beyond, not only making sure all the basics were taken care of, but also paying close attention to small details like cleaning the food area, refreshing the water frequently, and keeping everything spotless and sending regular and detailed updates. My cat usually takes a few days to warm up to new people, but clearly felt comfortable and cared for from day one. I could tell my cat was in the best hands. I can’t recommend Xiuwen highly enough!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in East Los Angeles. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
