Olivia did a wonderful job with our fur babies and took amazing care of our home as well. She was communicative and went the extra mile to make our pups comfortable. We’d be happy to have her sit for us again anytime.

J stayed with my two Bengals while I was out of town and did a great job caring for them. She followed medication instructions, cleaned up a couple of pee incidents (which is unfortunately part of life with my cats), and reached out whenever she had questions instead of making assumptions. It was obvious she genuinely liked my cats and paid attention to how they were doing. I appreciated that she noticed one of my cats allergies while I was away and texted to ask how she could help medicate if needed. I came home to two well-cared-for cats and would happily book with her again. ❤️

About: I love spending time with animals, and I have 3 fur children of my own . Gilbert , khaleesi and Tokyo! When your fur baby is in my care , their safety and comfort is my top priority. I am open for walks , drop ins and sittings (no overnight stays) During sitting I can offer extended visits and arrive early, I know how to administer medication since my own pup takes a medication 2x a day I offer services on the other app😬 and am now looking to expand on this platform. I have been providing walks, drop ins, and sittings for 3 years now :) As a case manager, I work from home most mornings and have field visits in the afternoons where I’m usually away from home between 3p-7p but I have the flexibility to work from home some days as well. I’m free on weekends☺️ During sittings I can work anywhere so long as I have WiFi ! My pets have a routine, and I know how important it is to keep up with so I have this in mind while I care for others babies 😊 I have a reactive dog , and I know how to safely keep doggies away from others and how to avoid stress.

We had Don watch our 3 year old dog for 3 nights and 4 days. He was absolutely the perfect sitter. He arrived at 5:30AM so we could have our dog be with him while we headed to the airport to relieve any anxiety and stayed until 7:00PM so we could get back not too late with our dog being alone. Don was very kind, sweet, and attentive towards our dog. He asked for a detailed item list for his stay, he sent us a ton of photos and videos without us having to always ask, and reached out to help clean up sheets, vacuum, take the trash out before his stay ended. You can tell he has a passion for dogs and truly enjoys spending time with them. I would highly recommend Don if you are looking to enjoy your vacation or time away and want to feel like you can trust someone to make your dog happy. We look forward to hiring him again next time we are out of town. He will be our first choice in sitters moving forward.

About: I love dogs and take taking care of them very seriously. I love playing with them, walking them, and feeding them. I've taken care of my own dog for three years as well as my friends dog whenever he is away and it's been a blast so far! My philosophy on dog rearing is boundaries, love, and plenty of physical and mental excercise. I am available to dog walk during the mornings and daytime and am available to dog sit overnight weekdays and weekends at my place or yours. My home is medium sized but there is plenty of yard space for your pup to run around. I think your dogs will have a great time with me and you can rest assure that they will be well cared for and loves.

About: For nearly two decades, my neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to care for their pets when they are away. I have extensive experience looking after dogs and cats of all ages and needs. Not only can I take your high-energy dog for a long walk or run, I will also slow things down to give your elderly pet the time and attention they need. I’m known for never refusing a belly rub and always loving your pets like my own. I am also happy to check up on aquarium dwellers (like my client who has goldfish!) I am a professional dancer and summer is the slow season, so I have flexible hours that can fit anyone’s busy day. I am available for daytime check-ins, walks, and daycare any day of the week. My schedule easily allows for pet pickups/drop offs and house sitting. I am home most of the day to keep your dog company. If I am out of the house it usually will only be for a couple hours and I have a very friendly dog who will comfort your dog in my absence. Because I am home most of the time, I can do exercise and potty breaks as frequently as you would like.

About: I take the time to understand each dog’s personality, energy level, and walking style so every outing is safe, enjoyable, and tailored just for them. I’m experienced with puppies, helping with leash training. I’m also comfortable supporting senior dogs, keeping walks at a gentle pace. I plan my class schedule in a way that gives me open blocks of time throughout the day, which I dedicate to dog walking. I keep my weekly schedule organized so I always know when I’m free for regular walks, and I’m careful not to overbook myself. I also have availability in the mornings, afternoons, and some evenings, depending on the day. At home, I already have a friendly puppy and a calm 5 year old dog, so visiting dogs are introduced slowly and safely to make sure everyone feels comfortable. I monitor all interactions, especially in the beginning, and give each dog personal space, positive attention, and plenty of supervised playtime if they enjoy socializing.

I have a reactive German Shepherd, and it can be difficult introducing her to new people. Lio (Jenny) was incredibly patient with us and very understanding of the challenges that come with having a reactive dog. I honestly thought I would never be able to get my dog to trust a new person, let alone leave her alone with them. But my dog felt safe and comfortable with Lio and took to them very well. We left for a 5-day trip, and Lio was very communicative and attentive to the dogs the entire time. Sent us plenty of pictures and videos. I could also tell our house was well taken care of. I feel so relieved to have found someone like Lio that I can truly trust to take care of my babies

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was 14 years old. I have taken various dogs hiking. I currently have two of my own at home. A 6 year old teacup poodle and a terrier mix who is 9 years old. I regularly clean up after them in my back yard. I also have them on a time specific feeding schedule. You can also check out my other profile on wag! Pet sitting! I’m currently working part time. I am available for walks before 4pm and I am fully equipped to handle boarding in my own house! For boarding specifically I do rearrange my schedule in order to stay home with the pet during the stay! I am comfortable giving medicine when needed to pet. I will give lots of love and cuddles! I will follow feeding schedule and potty schedule when assigned. In my home my house is centered in the property and I have a gate surrounding the whole property but also right down the middle so I am able to separate the pets if needed and when requested. I have extra doggie beds and crates and allow dogs to sleep inside!

Lindsey was fantastic with my 1 year old pup. My dog has a lot of energy and is very clingy and Lindsey showed so much concern and care for his well being. She took him on a ton of walks, played with him a bunch, and kept me updated throughout. I really appreciate how thorough and caring she is! She made sure to send me photos and videos, and kept me updated on his walks, how he slept, and his little quirks. My dog was so comfortable around her and was calm and tired upon me returning, so I can tell that Lindsey took exceptional care of him. I would recommend Lindsey wholeheartedly!

Yureli and Kairo were awesome. They were in constant communication with us, sending daily pictures and videos and even offering to FaceTime so we could talk to our doggies. They were kind and attentive to the pups, taking genuine care and giving them lots of love. And they kept the apartment super clean, even going so far as to wash everything before they left. The best gift when you can't take your companions on a trip is to know someone will take care of them and give you a peace of mind. Ashley did. She is amazing and is a great communicator. I left behind a 14 year old blob and a 6 years skittish lab and I was worried about the younger pup. It was the 14 year old senior that kept Ashley up at night. Ashley kept me posted on the situation, we kept the communication open to make sure Hunter is ok. Things happened but the best way to know how awesome your substitute is, is to experience their problem solving ability. Ashley got everything under control. I highly recommend Ashley and would love to get her help again. She is definitely more than 5 stars rating.

Briana was punctual, friendly, and most of all great with our pets. Our dogs and cat are our children and their care and happiness is of the utmost importance to us. Briana was receptive to our requests and our dogs’ schedule, which is important as one of our dogs has a seizure disorder and requires just a little extra care and attention. Being able to go out without needing to worry that our pets are in good hands means everything to us, and Briana provided us with that peace of mind. Would definitely recommend and book again!

FAQs for House Sitting - East Los Angeles

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in East Los Angeles on Rover is $53.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 15,032 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across East Los Angeles. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred East Los Angeles walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in East Los Angeles maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Los Angeles choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in East Los Angeles. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
