“Jehiny did a great job at watching our baby girl Boxer. She sent updates and pictures which made us really happy. Boxers are very active and she managed her well. She’s 7 months old and loves attention. Jehiny ensured to give us an update upon our arrival and you could tell our baby girl had a great time. She was wagging her tail and looked very comfortable.”

“Don is very responsive and dependable. It was our first time leaving our dog with someone else without either of us there . Everything was well tended to, including our two cats. Would definitely recommend.”

“Súper professional and accommodating. Needed a sitter last minute for Mother’s Day and Josh went above and beyond. Very good about communicating updates. Handled giving my dog Vida her pill. & just all around a kind and caring guy! Definitely will book with him again.”

“Absolutely amazing. Aech’s communication is outstanding . I could see my dog was happy calm and content both from the photo updates and when I got home. Highly recommend and would love to work with again”

About: I've always loved pets and have much experience pet sitting for friends and family. My mother takes in cats she finds around her area and neuter and stays them. I go over and help her when I can. She also owns 2 energetic huskies and I walk and play and groom them when I visit. My friends/neighbors around my complex trust me with their keys to feed their cats at their specific times and change their litter when they are out of town. And I am loving cat owner, unfortunately no dogs since one of my cats got so temperamental when I fostered one for a month. I'm currently working part-time remotely so I have nearly open availability to help, and assist fellow pet owners so they can work or travel with peace of mind. Although I am a pet owner I know that we all care/feed our pets differently. I make sure to follow any rules or guidelines owners mention to make sure your pet is taken care of the way you'd like.
“I appreciate Jasper being able to house-sit with my kitties. They sent multiple pictures which I really appreciated. I had a special situation with cats that had to be kept separated with a feeding schedule. Jasper was very accommodating and friendly. When I forgot to put out wet cat food for my one cats, they found the correct brand and gave them the mentioned amount and stored the rest in the fridge. I am so grateful they were able to assist with my mistake. I will use them again for sure.”

“Carley is an outstanding pet sitter and human. We can rest assured knowing our animals are well cared for under her watch. She’s kind, timely, communicative, sends updates frequently, always shows up to do an amazing job and overall just makes sure our pets are happy, healthy and full. We can’t help but smile when we get back because even though we travel for work we know our animals got the best care while we were away. Thank you Carley for never making us wonder about your ability to love our babies and keep them safe.”

“Alexandrea took great care of our dogs and sent us photos regularly. She stayed at our house and left it nice and clean. She is very friendly and communicative. Thanks Alexandrea!”

“This is the first time I tried “Rover” I was a little concern about having strangers at my house but after we met prior to hire her, I felt so much better. Milan ( my furry baby) loved her, she was very sweet and kept me updated. I will definitely hire her again. Thanks, Deanna!”

“Hannah was great! She stayed in close communication, sent pics and I know my dog was perfectly happy in his normal routine while we were out of town. She went above and beyond in many ways!”

“Brenna stepped in for me in an urgency and was the utmost friendly, communicative and wonderful caretaker for my two pups - one big and one small. I would hire Brenna again (and plan to!) in a heartbeat. She is the best and a fantastic doggie caretaker.”

“I had a wonderful experience with her watching my senior dog. Even though we didn't get the chance to meet in person, all of our communication was prompt, professional, and incredibly kind. She kept me updated throughout the day with how my dog was doing, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. One thing I especially appreciated was how attentive she was. If she noticed him acting a little restless or differently than normal, she reached out to ask if it was typical behavior. It really showed that she was paying close attention to him and genuinely wanted to make sure he was comfortable and okay. When I returned, my home was clean, my dog was happy and well cared for, and I felt confident he had been in great hands. I would absolutely book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, attentive, and professional sitter.”

About: I’ve always loved animals and have experience caring for both cats and dogs. For the past two years, I’ve been the proud pet parent of my rescue cat, Duckie. Since adopting her, I’ve learned how important patience, routine, and attentive care are, and I’m committed to making sure she stays happy, healthy, and loved every day. I’ve also helped care for my friends’ pets over the years. I regularly walked a friend’s poodle, making sure he got plenty of exercise, playtime, and attention. In addition, I’ve house sat for friends with cats, caring for their daily routines by feeding them, refreshing their water, cleaning litter boxes, playing with them, and giving them lots of affection while their owners were away. I understand that every pet has their own personality and needs, and I enjoy getting to know what makes each one feel safe and comfortable. Whether it’s a long walk, playtime, cuddles, or simply keeping them company, I’ll treat your pets with the same love and care I give my own. Pet sitting fits naturally into my daily routine because I work from home with a flexible schedule. Since I can work from just about anywhere with my laptop, I’m able to provide attentive care throughout the day while maintaining my work responsibilities. This flexibility also makes weekday house sitting a great option for me. On weekends, I’m available for both full-day and part-time care, giving me even more time to focus on your pet’s needs, whether that means walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply keeping them company. My goal is to make the process as seamless and stress-free as possible for both you and your pet. I understand that every family has a different schedule, so I’m happy to work with you to find a care plan that fits your routine while making sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for every step of the way. I understand that trusting someone with your pet and your home is a big decision, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. My priority is to provide reliable, attentive care while maintaining your pet’s normal routine and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Before each visit or house sit, I’ll take the time to learn your pet’s routine, personality, preferences, and any special care instructions. Whether your pet needs medication, a bath, extra exercise, playtime, or simply a calm companion, I’ll follow your care plan closely and make sure their needs are met with patience and care. I’m attentive to the little details that can make a big difference in your pet’s well-being. I’ll keep an eye on their appetite, water intake, energy level, bathroom habits, and overall behavior, and I’ll communicate any changes or concerns right away. I believe consistent updates, photos, and open communication help give pet parents peace of mind, so you’ll always know how your pet is doing while you’re away. I’ll also treat your home with the same care and respect I would my own—keeping it clean, secure, and following any household instructions you’ve provided. My goal is for you to come home to a happy, healthy pet and the confidence that they received thoughtful, dependable care every step of the way.
“Nikki was amazing! She put my mind at ease the entire time I was away. I have an anxious pup (at times) and she did such a great job with him! My place looked spotless and perfect upon returning and my pup was happy and relaxed. Highly recommend Nikki and will hire her again!”

Stephanie took great care of my 2 dogs while I was away for a couple of days! I was a little worried about Burrito because he is very skittish around new people. He eventually warmed up to Stephanie and was able to relax. She kept me updated with pictures and videos. I would definitely have her sit for me again! 😀

Jehiny was AMAZING. She dealt with apartment construction and heat and kept our two high-energy girls entertained and safe. She sent multiple photo updates and walk routes, so we knew they were having fun. Any time she had a question, she would check in! I’m immediately rebooking her!

Ilyanna was absolutely fantastic and the care she provided for our very nervous poodle was just awesome. We could tell from all the wonderful pictures she sent that he was so happy and chilled with her. It really allowed us to relax and enjoy our break. Oskar definitely wants to return!!

Sara was awesome! She sent lots of pictures and updates throughout the stay, which gave us so much peace of mind. Our dog can be a little nervous with new people but he warmed up to her really quickly, and it was obvious he felt comfortable with her. So happy to have found someone we trust with our dog and would absolutely recommend her!

We are the obsessed dog owners with a senior dog - Soren - who’s really been struggling this year. Sarah is the only sitter we trust and she’s been flexible and supportive - plus gentle and thoughtful with Soren. We have meds, a strict schedule, and she’s diligent and dependable. She’s helped us have a bit more of a life again and we went on vacation - she handled him for a week and was communicative the whole time!

Gabriana is amazing! She stayed at our house for 9 days while we were on vacation, taking care of our dog Bertie who was recovering from knee surgery. Not only did she take exceptional care of him (some meds, dressing the would, etc) but our house was spotless when we got back!

Melissa watched our animals and house sat for us. I made some mistakes in both my initial date requests and in some of the arrangements. Melissa not only took good care of the animals but was flexible and patient with us. I couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommend!

Nikki was amazing! She put my mind at ease the entire time I was away. I have an anxious pup (at times) and she did such a great job with him! My place looked spotless and perfect upon returning and my pup was happy and relaxed. Highly recommend Nikki and will hire her again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Los Angeles Downtown walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Los Angeles Downtown maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Los Angeles Downtown choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
