“I honestly can’t rave enough about how kind, patient and caring she is with our wild boxer pup. This is the 2nd time we book her and we are so happy with the amount of updates she shared with us.”

“Cory watched my boys at my home for over a week. She was so good to them and kept me updated all week. She also took very good care of my home. I highly recommend her for any and all services!”

“Ellyot was an absolute gem! My partner and I felt at ease the minute we met her. Our 2 dogs and 2 cats immediately approached her (despite being shy normally). We hired Ellyot for 5 days. She communicated every day until the minute we got home. She followed all of our excessive instructions and kept our place as neat as we left it. I have used rover before and this is probably the first time I have had such a positive experience. We look forward to our future vacations because we won’t ever have to stress, thank for Ellyot 🥰”

“Ashley was great, very communicative, and lived on our pup as we would. We super appreciate how active she kept Sadie, ensuring she was nice and tired when we arrived back from our trip. It would great to see Sadie relaxed and happy when we got home. Highly recommend Ashley for any pet sitting needs :)”

“Lillian is terrific. On time, thoughtful and diligent. She is flexible as well, and was able to extend her time with us no problem. And the doggies loved her! Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve been an animal lover as long as I can remember. Having four legs grants an automatic friendship with me! I have experience training my own dogs. They can sit, stay, stand, twirl, and sleep (I’m really good at teaching the latter). I also have experience helping animals with extreme health issues such as tube feeding, giving pills and liquid medicine, and caring for an animal in a fragile state. One of my dogs also has a very strict diet due to a health problem so I understand how important that can be. I have watched high energy dogs, anxious dogs, and everything in between, and I love getting to know the personality of new dogs! I am new to the city, so my schedule is very open to give time and affection to your pets! Maybe they can show me their favorite places! I’m respectful of a client’s space, and understand I am coming into your pet’s safe place. I approach with care and work to find what each pets boundaries are. I always appreciate detailed care instructions so I can be the bet sitter/walker for your pet.
“Harry is great with our dogs and always makes our trips stress free. He's great at communicating and is attentive to the changing needs of our dogs. We've booked Harry on multiple occasions and we will again in the future.”

“Alexandrea took care of my two kitties while I was away for the weekend. It’s always so nerve wrecking when you let a stranger into your home, but Alexandrea made me and my kitties feel safe and comfortable. She was communicative and timely. Would rebook and recommend !”

“Súper professional and accommodating. Needed a sitter last minute for Mother’s Day and Josh went above and beyond. Very good about communicating updates. Handled giving my dog Vida her pill. & just all around a kind and caring guy! Definitely will book with him again.”

“Rebekah was amazing! Very flexible with the meet & greet; communicative and attentive throughout the stay. She also sent daily photo/video updates. The pups enjoyed her company and calm presence very much!”

About: Safety is my main priority. I have 15 plus years experience working in Veterinary Medicine. What sets me apart is the genuine care and attention I give every pet. I’m very patient, intuitive, and attentive to each animal’s unique personality and needs, whether that’s helping shy pets feel comfortable, keeping high-energy dogs active, or giving extra love and gentleness to senior pets. I also send lots of thoughtful photo and video updates so owners always feel connected and reassured while they’re away. Pet care is something I genuinely love and naturally build into my routine. Spending time with animals makes me happy, and I truly enjoy giving them love, attention, and a safe, comforting environment. I care for every pet with patience, love, and close attention to their individual routine and personality. I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for through consistent feeding, walks, playtime, cuddles, and lots of affection. I also keep owners updated with plenty of pictures and videos so they can feel connected and reassured while they’re away.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats of all ages and personalities. Growing up with dogs and having a cat myself currently, I’m prepared for any walks, wags, purrs, and anything else your little ones throw my way. Available for extended stays, drop ins, and endless attention. I work from home most of the week and depending on if I am house sitting or just dropping in, my schedule is incredibly flexible to performing morning, afternoon, and evening check ins, walks, feedings, with ample time to play and give attention to your little ones to make sure they feel well taken care of while you’re away. Always follow any instructions provided and will probably pester with questions to make sure the care is exactly how you would give it. Stick to the schedule of feedings and beyond and always make sure your home is just as well looked after as they are.
“Liency was very kind. She listened to all of our dog/home needs and wrote them down with intentionality. Kept our home clean, and even left us some yummy homemade pumpkin bread for thanksgiving :'). Our dog is a senior rescue and it seems she was very cautious and intentional to make our dog feel safe and warm up to her naturally. She asked if we wanted and sent us photos regularly which I really loved.”

“Jacqueline was amazing while she house sat our two elderly dogs. Best of all, not only did she take care of our pups, but she kept our place clean. Constant updates and pictures. Highly recommend!”
“Lio and her partner took great care of my dog, Cash! They stayed over the weekend and left my place exactly how I left it, with Cash looking healthy and happy. Lio sent regular updates including photos and videos during the stay and I felt confident that Cash was being cared for well. He can be very anxious at times and her accommodations to him were very appreciated! Thanks so much :)”

“We were so lucky to find Vienna to watch our babies! We came home to happy, content kitties (and a fish), and a spotless house. Vienna immediately adapted to our kitties high maintanance medicine needs and routine, one that even for us can be difficult. Vienna made us feel totally at ease the whole time we were away! We would absolutely book her again. Highly recommend! Thank you Vienna!!”

“Sarah is, as always, wonderful. Even when my baby Dibbs isn't feeling his best, we have total confidence leaving him in Sarah's capable hands. She's a treasure.”
“Lee was amazing! My fiancé and I left town for 5 days and Lee stayed over at our house and took care of our 60lb Pit Bull. We had never left him for that long and were having a hard time with it… and Lee made us feel so at ease! He was very communicative, responsible, followed and comforted any anxiety we had throughout the trip. I couldn’t say enough good things about Lee and will absolutely be hiring him again!!!”

“We love Ryan as much as our dogs do! He’s sat for us twice now, and he took great care of our dogs. They got great walks, and plenty of love and attention! We didn’t have to worry at all going away for the weekend, Ryan takes great care of dogs and genuinely cares about them.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Echo Park
This was our first time leaving our 16 week old puppy Biggie and Ninon did an excellent job of taking care of him while we were away for the weekend. She’s very communicative and sent lots of texts and pics. She’s took Biggie on local adventures which we appreciated as we want to socialize him as much as possible. We have already rebooked her for an upcoming vacation.

Tatiana is the best! She is so good with my senior dogs- they love her! She is also very considerate of my home. I know I am leaving everything in good hands with her when I go out of town. Zero worries! She checks in with updates on the dogs, including fun pictures. I’ll definitely keep booking Tatiana to care for my dogs whenever I go out of town.

Cory was the best cat sitter. She gave us amazing daily updates and took adorable photos for us. She left everything super clean, she understood all the directions for our cats care and made sure she didn’t get too lonely! Would absolutely use her again she’s the best

Jami was amazing! She took great care of our dog Leo while we were away for a long weekend and took great care of our space too. She was super communicative and provided lots of updates and photos. Leo needed medicine during her stay and Jami was really helpful with that too. Highly recommend!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Echo Park on Rover is $64.2 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 14,417 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Echo Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Echo Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Echo Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Echo Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Echo Park. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
