Brigette was wonderful! She stayed at our house for a week and took great care of both our pups and our home. She kept us updated throughout our trip with regular messages and photos, which gave us great peace of mind and made us feel confident that our dogs were happy and well cared for. She also went above and beyond by washing the sheets and towels she used and leaving the house in great condition. It was so nice to come home to happy dogs and a clean house. We would absolutely book Brigette again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and caring sitter.

My dog Pod is usually pretty anxious if my husband and I leave him anytime other than our normal work times, but he seemed very comfortable with Michael right away. Michael sent us a picture and update part way through the stay, which was nice, and Pod was happy to see us when we got home but seemed clam and not anxious at all!

Rachael is the best! She has a natural understanding of dogs, and makes us feel totally comfortable going away for the weekend. One of our dogs is a rescue from the shelter with a bit of anxiety he still deals with, and Rachael knew just how to take care of him! Great house guest too.

Dee was truly amazing! I swear he might actually be a dog whisperer. My dog Blossom absolutely loved him and was so happy and comfortable with him. He was incredibly communicative while I was away, and I felt completely comfortable and assured the entire time knowing my dog and my home were in such good hands. He sent thoughtful updates, was attentive to everything, and clearly cared about making sure Blossom was happy and well taken care of. He also took incredible care of my home and left it even better than he found it. It’s rare to find someone you feel this comfortable trusting with both your pet and your home. I would have him back in a heartbeat and highly recommend you reach out to him!

She’s been walking Freddie for a while, and we were really glad we had someone our pets trusted to care for them while we were out of town. We got pictures and updates every day, and they got lots of attention and playing in :)

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover, former veterinary assistant, and experienced Rover sitter with a 5-star rating. I’ve cared for dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, hamsters, and other small animals throughout my life, and I understand how important it is to find someone you can genuinely trust with both your pet and your home. I provide calm, attentive, individualized care based on each pet’s routine, personality, energy level, and comfort. I’m comfortable with feeding, walks, playtime, litter-box care, basic medication, senior pets, and pets that need a little extra patience while getting acquainted. As an artist who works from home, I have a flexible schedule and can often accommodate weekday walks, drop-in visits, and occasional last-minute requests. Every visit includes thoughtful updates and photos, so you can relax knowing your pet is safe, comfortable, and receiving plenty of attention. I’m happy to arrange a complimentary meet-and-greet before the first booking to learn about your pet’s routine, preferences, behavior, and care instructions. I’m a professional artist who works from home, which gives me a flexible schedule for pet care throughout the week. I’m available for weekday and weekend walks and drop-in visits, including daytime appointments. Because I manage my own schedule, I can often accommodate recurring visits and occasional last-minute requests while giving each pet dependable, unrushed attention. I treat every pet as if they were my own, with their safety, comfort, and well-being as my highest priorities. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions regarding feeding, medication, exercise, and household routines, while keeping doors, gates, leashes, and pet areas secure. I take time to build trust, respect each pet’s individual personality, and watch closely for changes in behavior, appetite, energy, or signs of stress. I provide gentle, attentive care and communicate openly with owners through detailed updates and photos. My goal is for every pet to feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for while you’re away.

Tracy is AWESOME! She watched our puppy Frankie for the first time this weekend and was so amazing with her! Frankie can be shy and nervous, but she immediately fell in love with Tracy. We got photos, videos and updates throughout her stay which made us so happy (we missed our little gremlin the whole time we were away). Tracy also has experience fostering and taking care of animals who are high anxiety/need special care, so we knew she would be safe in her care. HIGHLY recommend!

Cannot recommend Dominique enough!! She stayed at our apartment for about two weeks with our 6 year old husky, Kira, and was so diligent about sending photos, providing updates and asking questions before we left to make sure kira had everything she needed while we were away. We always get a little nervous leaving her for long periods of time but everything went so smoothly and made our trip back to Boston to see family stress free. 10/10 would recommend Dominique if you’re looking for a dog sitter!!

But with Pixie spoiling her and sending me multiple videos I was able to relax and enjoy my weekend. Book with Pixie! Your pet will thank you. Not only is Pixie energetic and loving, she knows a lot about dogs and how to care for even a spoiled pup.

About: I started dog walking and doing cat play dates out of high school 11 years ago and loved it! I grew up with two large dogs and two cats in Portland, Oregon. Calm or animated, tall and long, short and stout, I take care of dogs & cats with all types of personalities, needs, and routines. I know dog & cat first aid through the American Red Cross and will go above and beyond to be a steward of your space. I study critical theory around the subjects of visual culture and land use at Portland State University online, so my schedule is open and adaptable to yours. My availability is completely open. I'm currently a student online, so I can adapt my schedule around whichever days and times you need help. I'm a patient, soft-spoken caretaker that allows a new fur friend to get to know me first. I'll walk the greenest routes in the area and cross the streets at the safest points. I walk at a steady pace and can check in with you and your pet during the walk or pet sit. We can play games or lounge around if that's more their style. I'll tend to your pet's grooming, diet, activity, and behavior specificities as well as any household tasks that accompany the visit.

We can’t say enough good things about Alex! He spent the weekend taking care of our crew, including our paralyzed dog Laika who requires special care. Alex approached everything with such a positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn. He was flexible when our return flight was delayed by several hours, which was a huge relief. He not only took wonderful care of our animals (who clearly loved having him around) but also went above and beyond in looking after our home, leaving it in better shape than when we left. The peace of mind we had knowing both our house and pets were in such capable hands was truly invaluable. We’re so grateful for Alex’s care and commitment, and we would 100% book with him again!

About: I’ve had my anxious baby boy black cat since he was a little foster kitten in 2020. Absolutely phenomenal! I'd give her 6 stars, for real. 1 year ago I went out of town and when I got back a whole slew of major health problems hit both my cats hard (not the fault of the pet sitter at the time). I was terrified of going on vacation again; I had PTSD. For over a year I refused to go out of town. Then I met Claire. Claire went above a beyond to make sure I felt connected to my two senior cats 100% of the time I was away and I never once felt uneasy. I was able to actually enjoy my vacation for the first time in a very long time. She was perfect. A breath of fresh air. She kept me updated regularly and frequently with pictures and texts. Actually one of my cat's conditions, he has a compressed nerve near the back of his spine, actually improved while she was watching them. He jumped on the bed to be with her which is something he rarely does, and does only with me. She followed my instructions to a T and was very flexible. She respected my home. I also think she did some light cleaning because it felt cleaner than I left it. I will definitely seek her out the next time I go on vacation. If you're on the fence I promise you it is money well spent. She puts your animals before herself and she will go to great lengths to make sure they are cared for while you're away. The money is well worth the peace of mind. I almost feel like I got a bargain. Thanks again Claire!!!

Dominique took great care of our dog and our home while we were away. We’re always a little nervous the first time our dog meets a sitter because she can be shy at first, and she’s reactive with other dogs, so it takes a calm and confident dog lover to make us all feel at ease. Dominique is fantastic! Kona felt comfortable with her very quickly. She asked great questions when we first met, making sure she understood Kona’s personality and routine. She sent us adorable updates throughout the stay, and we came home to a clean, tidy house and a happy dog. 10/10 recommend!

Ninon is our first rover choice. She is reliable, dependable, and wonderful with our dog. Would definitely rebook her and I would suggest you do too! She jumped in for us last minute when another rover person we booked with backed out with short notice. Our dog also has special needs and Ninon handled her beautifully! While she is more expensive than some others, you are paying for peace of mind with your animal while you’re away. I really don’t think I could have said the same with the other provider we had initially booked at a lower cost. So ultimately, that decision and Ninon are absolutely worth it.

FAQs for House Sitting - Glendale

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Glendale on Rover is $72.15 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 14,262 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Glendale. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Glendale walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Glendale maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Glendale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Glendale. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
