“Thank goodness for Grace! She is the dream pet sitter. She was so helpful, communicative, and most importantly made me feel so much better about leaving my kitty. So grateful for her!”

“I was so nervous to leave Olive alone. She is elderly and has a little trouble walking/balancing. Whitney and Lizzo were wonderful companions. I received frequent updates and photos, and when I came home after my 4 day trip, Olive was happy and relaxed. I’m so grateful to Whitney and have already rebooked her!”

“Maryam did a great job watching Bella! Maryam is very sweet and Bella was drawn to her from the beginning. Maryam was punctual, super responsive and showed great care while watching Bella. Thank you Maryam :)”

“Zoe is just terrific! Excellent at communication and really went above and beyond to take care of our tricky little cat Graybee. Our home was clean and tidy when we got home and we had a very happy kit kat waiting for us. Highly recommend!”

“Elizabeth did an amazing job with Lady Mae while staying at my apartment for the weekend. Was extremely communicative and followed all instructions. Was a pleasure to work with her and will definitely be requesting her services next time I’m out of town.”

“What a giant blessing Kendi is to my little pack! She was wonderful with three very different personality filled pups and each of their needs. She was patient with my newly adopted and somewhat reactive guy, accommodating to my post op senior and lovingly patient with me gal who loves her back scratches on every single lawn! I loved and appreciated the many photos, walk updates and questions if anything was unclear and her willingness to extend the care when my flight went haywire. Thank you Kendi!!! Your care is so incredibly appreciated and we hope to have you back soon!”

“Manuel was absolutely wonderful! He was incredibly attentive, reliable, communicative, and clearly treated them like they were his own. Both of them were happy, relaxed, and very well cared for when I got home. I would trust him with Hugo and Willow again in a heartbeat and can’t recommend him highly enough!”
“Jennifer was fantastic looking after my two Bengal cats. She was punctual, extremely responsive and sent photos every day that showed me how comfortable the cats were with her. I’ll definitely be using Jennifer again.”

“Colleen went above and beyond and did an amazing job taking care of my dog Sadie, who can be difficult and has lots of quirks. I felt totally at ease leaving Sadie with her and she was super communicative while we were gone. Thank you Colleen!”

“Talia took amazing care of my dog Margot while I dealt with a family emergency. She sent the sweetest photos, and always updated me on Margot’s anxiety levels which put me at ease while I was away. So glad to have found her!”

“Sydnee was amazing! Great attitude and truly a very friendly person and animal lover. We would 100% hire Sydnee again to babysit and/or walk our puppies. A true asset to the Rover community... and the larger animal-lover world!”

“Caroline was fantastic! I had to head out of town for a few days and Jessica took excellent care of Doudou & Maomao. She sent tons of pictures and updates and kept my high energy pups entertained. I will definitely use her again.”

“Emma was amazing! We felt so relieved and grateful to have our kitties in such good hands. Emma was so easy to communicate with, she had no problem with the specific feeding schedules, and sent us regular photo updates. It’s tough to leave them behind for long periods of time but the upside is knowing that they will have Emma to hang out with, and that we will feel comfortable knowing they are so well taken care of and well-loved!! Thanks Emma!! :)”

“This was Sydney’s second stay at our home and taking care of our dog. The arrangements for the stay were made all via text this time - super responsive! Sydney updated with texts and pictures daily and again, went and printed out pictures of her and our dogs adventures while we were away and left them for us for when we returned. She also went out of her way to get a dog toy for our dog and left a thank you note for when we got back home. I suggest using Sydney - she’s terrific! ?”

“Emily is so wonderful! She shared so many great updates and truly takes the responsibility of caring for your fur kids seriously <3 Could not recommend enough.”

Prabha is such an amazing and compassionate sitter! My 19yo cat, Kisky, unfortunately suffered a seizure while I was out of town, and Prabha handled the situation perfectly. She followed the instructions we discussed during our meet n greet and alerted me right away when it happened. She stayed with Kisky while she recovered, making sure she was comfortable and cared for throughout the whole experience. Knowing that Prabha was there to look after her while I was away gave me so much peace of mind, especially since I couldn’t be there myself. I truly cannot recommend Prabha enough. She is caring, attentive, communicative, and just an all around wonderful sitter. I would absolutely trust her with Kisky again! thank you Prabha!! 😻

Manuel was absolutely wonderful! He was incredibly attentive, reliable, communicative, and clearly treated them like they were his own. Both of them were happy, relaxed, and very well cared for when I got home. I would trust him with Hugo and Willow again in a heartbeat and can’t recommend him highly enough!
Whitney was dependable and very sweet with our dog. Her dog and ours got aong great with each other. She sent us pictures every day and contacted us with any questions. She left the house spotless. We would definitely use her again. Knowing that Whitney was taking care of our dog and house made our trip even more enjoyable

Absolutely phenomenal! I'd give her 6 stars, for real. 1 year ago I went out of town and when I got back a whole slew of major health problems hit both my cats hard (not the fault of the pet sitter at the time). I was terrified of going on vacation again; I had PTSD. For over a year I refused to go out of town. Then I met Claire. Claire went above a beyond to make sure I felt connected to my two senior cats 100% of the time I was away and I never once felt uneasy. I was able to actually enjoy my vacation for the first time in a very long time. She was perfect. A breath of fresh air. She kept me updated regularly and frequently with pictures and texts. Actually one of my cat's conditions, he has a compressed nerve near the back of his spine, actually improved while she was watching them. He jumped on the bed to be with her which is something he rarely does, and does only with me. She followed my instructions to a T and was very flexible. She respected my home. I also think she did some light cleaning because it felt cleaner than I left it. I will definitely seek her out the next time I go on vacation. If you're on the fence I promise you it is money well spent. She puts your animals before herself and she will go to great lengths to make sure they are cared for while you're away. The money is well worth the peace of mind. I almost feel like I got a bargain. Thanks again Claire!!!
Mikayla went above and beyond while housesitting for me. My dog required medication to be given to her twice a day and Mikayla not only ensured she got it but provided frequent updates throughout the stay so I knew my dog was doing okay. She brought in packages, ensured the place was tidy before she left and offered to check back on the girls if my travel schedule got delayed. I truly was able to rest easy during my time away knowing Mikayla was taking care of not only my animals but my home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hollywood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hollywood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hollywood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
