Nicole was absolutely wonderful looking after our pup Alfie while he was recovering from surgery. She showed up early, was incredibly sweet, and kept us updated with cute photos of Alfie looking happy and relaxed. We felt totally at ease knowing he was in such good hands. Everything was perfect—we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter!

Lauren was a great house & pet sitter for me. Her communication was clear, she treated my home with respect and she left everything in great condition. She sent daily pictures of my cat to let me know all was going ok, and would send more if I requested. I've had prior house sitters that have spent little time actually in my home while they worked other jobs, but when I'm out of town I like to know that someone is around and giving a good presence at my house so my cat is not alone for extended long periods of time. While I'm flexible with the amount of alone time my cat has, I felt Lauren stayed true to her agreement of watching my cat in my home and that she did spend a good amount of time there. I would trust her in my home again! Thank you Lauren!

We had Steph house/pet sit for our senior dog and cat during the holidays. Genuinely cannot recommend her highly enough, Steph was extremely communicative, kind, and accommodating to our pets. Having a senior dog with separation anxiety has given me some separation anxiety of my own, and Steph made me feel so at ease with tons of photos and updates. On top of all that, our place was spotless when we got home and it’s clear Steph took great care of our space. She’s the best!!!

I can't recommend Scott enough! 🐾 I booked him to care for our dog Dexter, who is very anxious and follows a strict routine. From the moment they met, Dexter—who is typically very shy and slow to warm up—immediately took a liking to Scott. That alone gave me so much peace of mind. We were gone for two weeks on an international trip, and I was extremely nervous about leaving Dexter for that long. Scott stayed at our home to help maintain Dexter’s routine and reduce his anxiety. He sent daily updates with photos and videos, and his communication was 100% consistent and reliable throughout our time away. 📸🐶💬 When we returned, we were blown away. Dexter was calm, happy, and relaxed—as if we had never left. There was no sign of stress or anxiety, which is a true testament to the level of care Scott provided. Our home was also in perfect condition—Scott took just as great care of our space as he did of Dexter. This was the best possible outcome I could have asked for, and I truly feel Dexter was in the best hands. Thank you, Scott, for being so professional, kind, and attentive. We’re so grateful—and Dexter is too! 🐾❤️🏡

Tiara was an extremely communicative and thoughtful sitter. She sent regular updates and was very attentive to my cat. Tiara handled my cat’s medications without a problem and was flexible in how she administered the meds to adapt to my cat’s needs. My cat, though very anxiety-prone, came out of her shell with Tiara! Additionally, Tiara left the house in spotless condition, which I appreciated after coming back from a trip. I’d love to work with Tiara again!

About: I am the proud pet parent of a sweet 14-year-old dog whom I have loved and cared for over the last 7 years. Navigating the senior years with my own dog has taught me the true value of patience, attentiveness, and gentle care. Whether your pet is a calm senior who needs slow, mindful pacing and a watchful eye, or a younger pup who just needs a solid, reliable routine, I know how to adapt to their specific energy levels and physical needs. My schedule allows me to have several completely open days per week where my full attention is dedicated to pet care. Because of this flexible routine, I am highly available for: Mid-day walks to burn off some energy. Quick potty breaks and feedings to keep their day on track. Overnight stays from time to time, ensuring your pet gets to sleep soundly in a comfortable, familiar routine. I treat every animal with the exact same love, respect, and high standard of care that I give to my own senior dog. I am detail-oriented, highly communicative, and love sending photo and video updates so you never have to wonder how your best friend is doing. If you're looking for a reliable, grounded, and experienced sitter to keep your pet safe and happy, I’d love to chat!

About: Hello there! Thank you for trusting me with your fur baby/babies! I’m here to give your pets any care that they need. I was raised taking care of all sorts of animals (cats, dogs, bunnies, birds, chickens, hamsters, snakes, and even rescued a raccoon!) I feel very connected to and protective of all animals and hope to one day have an animal sanctuary of my own. Aside from growing up with all sorts of animals and having cats of my own now I have also pet sat many times for family, friends, and coworkers. I’m extremely passionate, responsible, knowledgeable and so very excited to meet your pet! No matter what the age or situation I’m confident that I can provide whatever your pet(s) need. There is nothing in this world that makes me happier than taking care of all creatures.. truly 🫶🏻 Thank you, Destiny I currently have a pretty flexible schedule! I create my own schedule for my work so I can typically work with whatever your needs are! I don’t provide boarding in my own home as I have 4 cats and do not have the space for any other pets. In your home I will take great care to make sure that everything is as you left it or better! I’m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my own home so I’ll be treating yours the same - including making sure your pet and home are safe and secure when I leave!

We even had a change of plans, and she was able to accommodate without hesitation. She went above and beyond, sending us regular updates and making sure our pets were happy, safe, and loved. We came home to a house that felt warm and cared for, and pets who were clearly well looked after. Katherine is truly stellar, and we couldn’t recommend her more highly.

About: I’ve had pets my entire life and truly can’t imagine it any other way! At one point I cared for four dogs and a cat, so I’m very comfortable in a busy pet filled home. I also have experience with dogs who have had seizures and frequent sneezing attacks, so I know how to stay calm, assess situations, and make sure pets feel safe and loved. I took my dog to training classes as both a puppy and an adult, and while I’m not professionally trained, I’ve carried the techniques I learned with me when caring for other pets. Friends and neighbors have always trusted me to walk, feed, and spend quality time with their animals. I currently have a 7 yr. old French Bulldog named Gus and a sassy orange tabby cat named Azula! Animals mean the world to me, and I’ll treat your pet like one of my own! I’m currently a full time student, which gives me plenty of flexibility outside of my classes! I’m available most mornings through evenings, with limited availability on Mondays and Fridays. I’m happy to spend all that free time caring for your pet whether that’s a walk to the park or just a quick hello! I’m also available for pet sitting on weekends and will always care for your pet according to your preferences. Since I don’t offer boarding in my own home, I provide attentive and reliable care in my client’s home. I genuinely enjoy spending quality time with animals and will give them plenty of attention supervision! I’m great at following routines and schedules, and I always prioritize making sure your pet feels safe and comfortable while you’re away.

Christine was absolutely wonderful to cat and house sit while we were out of town. My cat, Stinky, was originally a stray and is now an indoor/outdoor cat, so I really needed someone who would understand his routine and make sure he felt safe and cared for. Christine did exactly that. She was reliable, caring, attentive, and respectful of our home, and gave us complete peace of mind knowing Stinky was in good hands. I really appreciated the care she put into looking after him. I would highly recommend Christine to anyone looking for a trustworthy, kind, and dependable pet and house sitter and I'll be rebooking with Christine!

From the moment we met, it was clear that Abbey genuinely loves animals. She treated Marbles like family, gave him so much love and attention, and kept me updated throughout the weekend, which made being away so much easier. I came home to a happy, relaxed, and well-cared-for pup—the best sign that he had an amazing time. Abbey is kind, dependable, thoughtful, and truly goes above and beyond. We had a great experience with Bonnie! She was communicative from the start, responding quickly and asking lots of questions about our dogs and home before the stay. She's clearly a dog lover and understands dog behavior and body language, which was especially helpful because our two dogs have their own dynamic. She took excellent care of them, including a fun trip to the park, and they were happy and well cared for when we got home. She also took great care of our house. FAQs for House Sitting - West Hollywood

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in West Hollywood on Rover is $64.2 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 13,985 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across West Hollywood. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West Hollywood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West Hollywood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Hollywood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in West Hollywood. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
