“Thank goodness for Grace! She is the dream pet sitter. She was so helpful, communicative, and most importantly made me feel so much better about leaving my kitty. So grateful for her!”

About: I’m a longtime animal shelter volunteer, foster, and pet owner! I have experience with animals of all ages, sizes, behavioral needs, and medical needs! I’m especially experienced with reactive dogs, pets that have medical needs/disabilities, and senior animals. I work a hybrid job, and I am out of the house for about 4 hours per day 3 days a week, but my schedule is flexible with advanced notice! I make time and prioritize the needs of any pets in my care. I understand the importance of keeping your beloved pets in a comfortable environment, so I am happy to provide in home care for all of your animals needs. I’m also very experienced with escape artist pets, and prioritize safety and security at all times!
About: I’m big on communication, I’ll make sure to send plenty of photos and updates so owners can feel at peace while away. Top priority is keeping the pet safe and showing love so they’re always comfortable in my care. I currently work from home and have a very flexible schedule. I have many breaks through out the day which is helpful when needing to take care of a pet. If I do take care of a pet at someone else’s home I would need to step out to work but I can always come back during breaks. If the clients dog is small enough I can keep at my apartment. But prefer to stay at someone’s place so the pet isn’t as restricted and is comfortable with their environment. My lifestyle is active outside and relaxing at home so if I step out with your dog then it will most likely be a long walk or hike.
“Sara took such good care of my cats while I was out of town! She was great about sending updates and communicating with me. It was great not having to worry about my cats while I was gone!”

“Jade was an amazing sitter! Very kind, caring, and attentive to every detail. They were super responsive and kept me updated with photo reports throughout the day, which made me feel completely at ease. My puppy was happy and well taken care of. I highly recommend Jade to anyone looking for a reliable and loving sitter! 💕🐾”

“We were grateful to have Lauren come and do full day sits for our two cats. She was excellent with communication prior and during our entire trip away, and did a wonderful job with our kitties. Thanks Lauren!”

“Kyle came through in the clutch with a last minute request! He did a fantastic job with our little ones and was communicative, flexible, and helpful. We would happily trust Kyle again and are very happy with his support. Thank you!!”

“Erin is everything that one could hope for in someone caring for your beloved pet - responsible, respectful, dependable, attentive and communicative. Most of all, she spent quality time and bonded with my little buddy so that he felt safe and comforted in my absence. Her daily updates provided me with relief, and she ultimately left him in the same physical and emotional shape (or better) than when I left town nearly two weeks prior. I highly recommend Erin and only hope that she's available the next time I (and my pup) are in need!”

“Leah was great! She was available fairly last minute for me after a cancellation, came over before our booking to meet my pup, and sent pictures throughout the sit. Would definitely use her again!”

“Leaka treated our pets like family. She was very communicative with us, keeping us in the know with all our pets shenanigans. She was attentive with them, providing play and even snuggles. We could tell our pets were well taken care of. We will definitely look to Leaka for future pet sitting.”

“Our dogs are so much happier being left home with Cheyenne than being left alone on event nights!! Thank you so much for your sweet care of our pups! And the old Bub cuddles!😉”

“Cass did a wonderful job. She was very responsible. Cleo loved her. She walked and played catch with Cleo a bunch of times a day and took many pictures showing how happy Cleo was. Not only did she do a great job with Cleo she did kept the house very clean and orderly. We recommend Cass very highly. She did great. Thank you Cass.”
“Adam is fantastic! He was so great with our senior girl and was super relaxed and communicative. Very easy to work with and our doggie seemed like she had a great time with him. We will definitely hire Adam again in the future :)”

“Tommy was absolutely amazing!! This was my first time using Rover in about 5 years and the first time with my current dog. Tommy asked all the right questions at our meet and greet and my dog felt comfortable with him right away. Communication was excellent before and during the stay, and Tommy takes such beautiful pictures of the pups! I honestly could not have asked for a better experience- Tommy is a real pro and you can tell he really cares about providing wonderful care to the pups and excellent service. I would highly recommend without hesitation. Thank you, Tommy!!”

“Taylor was a pleasure to work with! She was very communicative and kept us updated with our pet's needs. Letting us know if they were eating properly and how they were doing on their walks. Taylor was great with our dogs and sent wonderful pictures. She was very flexible when our dog had to have eyedrops given last minute right before we left. Her positive attitude and dedication gave us peace of mind while we were gone on vacation for a week. We knew our dogs were getting well cared for and wouldn't hesitate to use her again! We highly recommend her!”

“What can I say about Katy, she is the best pet/house sitter we could ever ask for. She went above and beyond to make sure our dog was comfortable with her before our long trip and it was clear they were going to be fine and my dog does not trust all humans! Katy followed all my instructions and took such great care of our house. Most importantly to us, Katy took great care of our Petey and I know he felt safe and had a great time.”

“Katherine really helped us out with sitting with Farrah for the day. We had plans to be in San Diego for the day and didn’t want to leave our Farrah alone for a long time due to some separation anxiety. We appreciate Katherine suggesting a meet and greet to go over a few things. During the day we receive pictures with updates which made us feel comfortable and know Farrah was in great hands. We would definitely love to book Katerine again for any future trips.”

“All I can say is wow! Leslie was amazing. She took great care of my puppy. She communicated with me very well with pictures and video. I will definitely use her over and over.”

Yoo Jee was awesome! She stayed at my apartment and took care of Pancho for a week and when my flight got delayed she came through big time for me. I’ll definitely be booking her again. When I got back from my trip my place was just as j left it and maybe a little neater. She’s a keeper!

Lauren is fantastic. She sent us regular updates and photos and was a great communicator. We felt so comfortable and at ease being away with her there taking care of Percy, and it was clear that he quickly felt comfy with her too. We look forward to working with her again.

Jason was so great! Super great with communication, got along with our dog Tiger right away, and was just so thorough through the entire stay. Our house was perfect when we came back, just couldn’t have asked for more! Great first dog sitting experience with rover :)

Kyle has been walking our girls for about a year now. They love him and he is so great with them. One of our dogs can be reactive with others and he has been so great keeping her calm on walks. This was our first time having Kyle stay over with them while we were out of town. He is great with comunicating and took such great care of all their needs, Our senior needs medication and he was on top of it! Thank you Kyle!!!

Katie was absolutely great!! She sent updates, asked questions, and took such great care of our two dogs and home! Upon meeting for the first time, both boys instantly took a liking to her which put our minds at ease. Would highly recommend booking with Katie and we will definitely be rebooking in the future :)!

Wow! Carlos was just the best! A total pro who handled my snippy Min-Pin with so much ease and care! Carlos stayed at our house while we were away on a trip and made sure everything was taken care of as if it was his own home. He even watered my plants and an outdoor garden for me AND searched through some papers to help find one I'd accidentally left behind on my desk! A lifesaver for sure and I'm so grateful for the Rover connection to Carlos!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Sherman Oaks on Rover is $74.9 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 12,806 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sherman Oaks. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sherman Oaks walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sherman Oaks maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sherman Oaks choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sherman Oaks. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
