“Kimberly is the absolute best! She is so caring, sweet, and responsible! She also keeps me updated by providing updates with pictures/videos of my fur baby! Thank you Kimberly for everything! ♥️”

“This was the second time I booked Hayley and she was quick to respond, reliable and easy-going when we couldn't provide her with a parking spot. I totally trusted her and I know she took good care of Maxi. Thank you!”

“Kat was great. She watched my senior dog + puppy for 6 days. She took my puppy on walks, gave my senior dog her meds & kept in communication with me about all their feedings, walks, and activities! I’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

“5th time having Russell take care of our little Joey girl and he was wonderful as always! Joey looked happy in all her photos and he took great care of our place as well.”

About: I've been a doggie-sitter for over 20 years. One client was every year, for 2 months at a time. It is my passion - I simply love dogs, they are the best people! I do this full-time. I come to your home to doggie-sit, for long or short periods of time, as well as overnight, if needed. I can make special visits for your dog's needs... potty-time, playtime or feeding. I sit only for dogs, as I'm allergic to cats. Although I have been a caregiver for the elderly for many years, I wish to devote my time to dogs now - the bigger the better - those gentle giants! I come to you. I doggie-sit at your home and can walk your dog(s) and take them where ever needed (the park or vet). Or I can play with them and love on them at your home. I can give any medications, and I'm dependable with a schedule. All dogs seem to love me. I look forward to meeting your wonderful doggies. Because I live in an apartment I can't have dogs at my place, although it would be heaven!
“Lauren was an absolute dream: punctual, friendly, professional, communicative, and, most importantly, kind, compassionate, and responsible in her in-home care of our two doggies. She sent regular texts, photos, and even videos updating us on the progress of her stay. We would not hesitate to book her again, and encourage anyone to do the same! 5 stars”

About: I grew up with mostly dogs, but also ended up with three cats. I’ve pet sat for family and friends. But more recently have dog sat while my clients were on vacation. They were senior dogs who needed medication and some extra love and care. I’m currently an afternoon nanny 2pm-6pm on Week days. This will allow me to do early mornings and midday visits or walks. I am open to evening visits as well. My weekends are some what flexible, with enough advance notice I am free to visit or petsit if schedule permits. If I’m going to walk your dog or do a drop in on your kitty. I”ll make sure that I arrive promptly, take them for a walk or check on kitty, feed and give them attention (if they want it it) and provide update. I’ll make sure to be respectful of your space and privacy. When I sit for a family I can do drop ins or spend the night. I’ll walk, cuddle, keep your pet company, and feed them until I have to be at work in the afternoon. I”ll come back after and get back to the routine with walking, feeding, playing whatever your pet may need. I’ll make sure to clean up after my visits and respect your home.

About: I have been the go-to pet sitter for my friends, families, and neighbors growing up. I worked at a doggy daycare during the summers and home baked dog treats in my spare time. Now I find my days working from home incomplete without a furry friend! I am great with any breed, size, and energy. Excited to give you peace of mind and your pet all the care and attention they need! I currently work from home. My meetings usually happen in the mid morning / afternoon between 10 and 2pm but I have a very flexible schedule. I am very attentive to the needs of the animals I care for. Most of the pets I have taken care of have some degree of separation anxiety so I have gotten accustomed to finding ways to soothe their anxiety weather it’s putting a show on for them, pets and cuddles, or lots of playtime! If your furry friend is shy or timid, no worries! I will let them come to me and treat them with respect and patience.

“Georgina was absolutely exceptional while caring for our dog, Kobe, during our 13-day trip. From start to finish, she went above and beyond in every way. She carefully administered Kobe’s medication, followed all of our instructions to the letter, and treated him with so much love and attention—it gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Beyond pet care, Georgina took incredible care of our home as well. She watered our plants, brought in the mail, and managed the garbage—everything was spotless and perfectly maintained when we returned. Her attention to detail is truly unmatched. What stood out most was her communication. She kept us consistently updated with messages and lots of photos, which made being away so much easier. We always felt in the loop and confident that everything was being handled beautifully. Georgina is responsible, thoughtful, and incredibly thorough. We feel so lucky to have found her and she will absolutely be our go-to sitter moving forward. Highly, highly recommend!”

“Shenelle was great!! She and my dog formed a bond after just one sitting. Makes me so happy to know he’s getting lots of love and great care while I’m away. Already booked her again.”

“We love Jade! She is absolutely incredible and made me feel as if I never left my baby. She provided updates and sent plenty of beautiful pics. My babygirl loved her and brought her so much joy while I was away. We will be booking again and again!”

“Thank goodness for Grace! She is the dream pet sitter. She was so helpful, communicative, and most importantly made me feel so much better about leaving my kitty. So grateful for her!”

“Brannon did an amazing job with our two high-energy young dogs (40lbs and 50lbs), even braving the rain to make sure they were cared for while we were out of town for the holidays. Strongly recommend Brannon!”

“Caleb was awesome! We had a last minute booking request that he was able to accommodate. He was also a great communicator, took my dog on plenty of walks, and my dog looked so happy in every photo.”

“We are so lucky that Alexandria moved to LA shortly after we did! We previously worked with her in Seattle and always had a great experience, and sure enough we had another stress-free weekend away when we left our dog with Alexandria over 4th of July 2026. She always goes above and beyond to leave the house even cleaner than she found it, stripping the bed and taking out the trash without being asked. Would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter.”

“Olivia was a wonderful Dog Sitter. Trustworthy, dependable, kind. She stayed with Primo for a week and communicated regularly with happy puppy pics. She took great care of my house and plants also. Would definitely recommend. Ty Olivia!”
“Tommy made our first time using Rover an easy and assuring experience. He's got the perfect combo of responsibility and compassion for your pet, not to mention a great sense of humor. His daily check in's made us feel at ease and we came back to a clean home and a very happy dog! Tommy will be first on our list to contact for future pet-sitting needs.”

“I’m so grateful I found Grace as a sitter! The pets loved her. I was really appreciative of all the consistent she sent while I was on my trip. She was really attentive to what the pets needed and asked questions when necessary (really important to me). I also loved that she did care enough to set up a time to meet the pets and make sure she the right fit for them. I can tell she really loves animals. I’ll definitely be hiring her again when I needed another sitter!”

Alexandria is the best! We continue to be so happy that she’s available to sit for our dog. She’s super thoughtful and takes such good care of him. Sends us nightly check-ins so we know all is well but doesn’t over-communicate. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter!

Lauren is fantastic. She sent us regular updates and photos and was a great communicator. We felt so comfortable and at ease being away with her there taking care of Percy, and it was clear that he quickly felt comfy with her too. We look forward to working with her again.

Katherine was very responsible and thorough. She sent me frequent pictures and updates of my cat while she was staying with her. I felt like Katherine made Cleo her priority for the days she was booked to pet sit and I appreciated the open lines of communication. I did not worry about Cleo's well-being while I was away because I knew she and Katherine became fast friends.

First time booking with Adam, and I truly can’t thank him enough. Three days before my husband and I were supposed to leave for a work trip, our usual pet sitter texted us saying she had food poisoning and could no longer help. I was honestly terrified. We have a 19-year-old Maltese named Bear who has been by my side since I was 18. Bear is in the final chapter of his life and requires a tremendous amount of specialized care. The thought of leaving him with someone we didn’t know was incredibly stressful. After exhausting every personal connection we had, we finally took a leap of faith and booked Adam through Rover. It was the best decision we could have made. Even with only three days’ notice, Adam went out of his way to make a meet-and-greet happen before we left. From the moment we met him, we immediately felt at ease. He brought professionalism, good vibes, and the attention to detail our animals needed. Adam met our two cats and, most importantly, Bear. We warned him that Bear is deaf, blind, wears diapers full time, and has recently started showing signs of Sundowning/dementia. At this stage of his life, keeping him comfortable and feeling safe is our absolute priority. Because of his needs, we always have someone stay in our home with him when we travel so as to keep him in a familiar environment and not make his confusion worse. I warned Adam there would be accidents, diaper changes, oral medication, and most likely having to wake up with him in the middle of the night if he had any restless spells. Kinda like having a newborn. None of it scared him. Instead, Adam listened, asked thoughtful questions, paid attention to every detail, and made us feel like Bear was in incredibly capable hands. I felt so at ease getting on the plane the next morning. While we were away, Adam kept us updated, communicated consistently, sent us headshot-quality pictures of everyone, and treated our animals with the same patience and care that we would have given them ourselves. Even our cat Ellie, who is scared of everyone new, started to feel comfortable coming out of hiding a few times to say hi! Bear's senior needs are no joke, and I am sure it presented it's challanges for Adam, but he never let us feel that. Every update he sent was full of nothing but positivity, which allowed me to focus on my work trip instead of stressing about what was going on at home. Leaving the needs of my senior pup in a stranger's hands was really hard for me to do. I am so grateful to have found Adam and the excellent care he provides. I walked into our house after 4 days of being away to a clean home, freshly washed sheets, 2 happy cats, and little Bear sleeping peacefully on his bed. He wasn't scared or confused, which is the biggest blessing Adam provided us. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone, but especially to someone who has the same anxieties about leaving their babies with someone they barely know. If Adam will have us, we plan to add him into our pack and his mom, Ruth, too! Adam, thank you for stepping in when we were in a complete bind, for taking such incredible care of Bear, Ellie, and Joe, and most importantly, for giving us the peace of mind to actually enjoy our trip knowing they were safe and loved. Ok, thank you for listening to my TED Talk, now go BOOK ADAM!

Blake was fantastic! He took great care of our dogs and our home while we were away. Our dogs were happy, relaxed, and very well looked after. We would happily recommend Blake to anyone looking for a reliable house sitter / pet sitter, and we'd love to have him back again.

Lane was absolutely amazing and all 4 of our animals love her!! She stayed on top of 4 different feeding schedules, a bunch of medications (including eye drops, pills, and even a cat inhaler), and navigating our unique kitchen rules. The animals all warmed to her so quickly, even our shyer cats who came running up to her by the end of her stay. She sent the best updates with such cute pictures and all the important details which helped put my anxious pet mom self at ease. It made our trip so much better knowing our pets were being taken care of by someone who cares just as much as us. Already booking our next house sitting stay with her!

Julia was great with our dog and cat! We were able to fully enjoy our trip away knowing that the pets were taken care of. Julia sent pictures and video a couple of times every day, letting us know that everything was going well. We highly recommend Julia for pet sitting and look forward to working with her again.

Christina was awesome and such a lifesaver. I ended up needing a dog sitter to stay in my apartment for nearly a week very last minute & she was super communicative & trustworthy. She came by before to do a meet & greet & followed all my care instructions perfectly. Arleda enjoyed her time with her and I totally trusted her in my home and with my best girl. She sent photos and updates daily and honestly went above and beyond with loving on my girl. I will definitely book with her again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Valley Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Valley Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Valley Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Valley Village. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
