“We just took our first family vacation since pre-pandemic, and it was a huge relief to leave our furbabies in Kim's loving care. She stayed overnight for a whole week with our pup and senior kitty. I was worried about our cat turning 19 while we were away because he was losing weight before our trip. When we returned, he had gained weight, and he looked healthier. Kim has a magic touch! She also cared for our guinea pigs, which are rather high maintenance, so I am very appreciative of her dedication to them. I'm so glad we found Kim so we have a trusted sitter for our next trip.”

“Emily was amazing as always! She stayed with our dogs for the entire day, making sure they were fed, watered, let out to potty, and kept company. She even kept an eye on our foster dog who is recovering from spay surgery and sent lots of updates! Highly recommend.”

“We’re so lucky to have Katherine as our pet-sitter! Our cat Dooney loves her. We were gone for 2 weeks and had no worries about Dooney, knowing he was well-cared for. The pictures she took of him were very reassuring and better than many of the pics I took of my vacation!”

“Georgina was absolutely exceptional while caring for our dog, Kobe, during our 13-day trip. From start to finish, she went above and beyond in every way. She carefully administered Kobe’s medication, followed all of our instructions to the letter, and treated him with so much love and attention—it gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Beyond pet care, Georgina took incredible care of our home as well. She watered our plants, brought in the mail, and managed the garbage—everything was spotless and perfectly maintained when we returned. Her attention to detail is truly unmatched. What stood out most was her communication. She kept us consistently updated with messages and lots of photos, which made being away so much easier. We always felt in the loop and confident that everything was being handled beautifully. Georgina is responsible, thoughtful, and incredibly thorough. We feel so lucky to have found her and she will absolutely be our go-to sitter moving forward. Highly, highly recommend!”

“We were so grateful to Emily for being available on short notice and on Christmas night, no less! While we were staying with family over the holidays, Dudley was less than happy to be left with a dog sitter in a home he was unfamiliar with. Emily was great in understanding his behavior and gave him time and space to adjust to our being gone. She sent us pictures and let us know that while not happy, he was doing fine. We so appreciated Emily's sweet nature in dealing with our sulky boy. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone needing a sitter and would use her again next time we're in town!”

“Wonderful house sitter. Very communicative and attentive to our senior cat who needs extra TLC. Would recommend to anyone looking for a kind and dependable person. 10/10 ⭐️”

“Shenelle has now watched Benj twice and has been great with her needs! From tummy problems to building up to leaving her alone, she was great and communicative.”

“Lane took such amazing care of our old gal, Penny! She sent tons of photo updates, spent lots of quality time with her, and walked her every day. We felt so at ease knowing Penny was in such caring hands. Would absolutely hire Lane again and highly recommend her!”

“First time I’ve had Keri for house sitting duties and she did an amazing job. Nyxie received her proper schedule of care with multiple walks and play sessions each day. My home was left tidy and cared for just as I had left it for her prior to my departure. I came home to a happy and healthy doggo and Keri kept me updated with great communication throughout. Definitely going to use her services again.”

About: I’ve always loved animals and grew up with dogs! I have experience caring for dogs with a variety of personalities, ages, and needs. I’m attentive to each pet’s individual routine, whether that means keeping up with an energetic pup, providing extra patience and care for senior dogs, or giving a nervous dog time to feel comfortable in a new environment. I’m also comfortable with administering medications when needed and making sure every pet gets plenty of attention, playtime, walks, and, most importantly, lots of love! I work from home three days a week, which gives me plenty of flexibility and time to care for dogs throughout the day. I’m able to give them lots of attention, regular potty breaks and walks, playtime, and companionship rather than leaving them alone for long periods. I live in a comfortable apartment in a quiet, residential area that’s perfect for daily walks and getting some fresh air. There’s also a dog park nearby for dogs who enjoy socializing and playing, as long as it’s a good fit for their personality and comfort level. I’m happy to care for pets in my home or in their home and will always follow their usual routines, preferences, and individual needs to help them feel safe and comfortable!
About: My experience comes from a lifetime of caring for my own pets and those of friends and family. I am highly detail-oriented and prioritize safety and clear communication above all else. I love providing frequent photo and video updates so you can see your family member enjoying their second home. Whether it's playing fetch in a secure environment or enjoying quiet cuddles on the sofa, I ensure every pet feels integrated and at ease As a virtual student, I have the freedom to structure my day around pet care. I take frequent breaks between classes for walks, playtime, and backyard stretches. Your pet will enjoy a consistent routine and plenty of attention, as I am home 90% of the time. My flexible schedule allows me to accommodate last-minute bookings or specific care needs. I currently take virtual classes, which gives me a lot of flexibility to organize my day around pet care. While my schedule can vary, I’m home most of the time and can easily adapt to your pet's feeding and potty breaks. For safety, I always keep dogs on a leash during walks to ensure they are secure. I focus on clear communication and will send you updates and photos so you can be sure your family member is happy and well-cared for.
About: I grew up with mostly dogs, but also ended up with three cats. I’ve pet sat for family and friends. But more recently have dog sat while my clients were on vacation. They were senior dogs who needed medication and some extra love and care. I’m currently an afternoon nanny 2pm-6pm on Week days. This will allow me to do early mornings and midday visits or walks. I am open to evening visits as well. My weekends are some what flexible, with enough advance notice I am free to visit or petsit if schedule permits. If I’m going to walk your dog or do a drop in on your kitty. I”ll make sure that I arrive promptly, take them for a walk or check on kitty, feed and give them attention (if they want it it) and provide update. I’ll make sure to be respectful of your space and privacy. When I sit for a family I can do drop ins or spend the night. I’ll walk, cuddle, keep your pet company, and feed them until I have to be at work in the afternoon. I”ll come back after and get back to the routine with walking, feeding, playing whatever your pet may need. I’ll make sure to clean up after my visits and respect your home.
About: My dog sitting has been talked very highly of every time I’ve done it! I walk my pup every single morning and would love to walk yours for you! Your pup will be so happy, they’ll seem like a puppy all over again🥰 I also used to work at a dog grooming company! Can’t wait to get to know you and your animal🫶🏻 I have dog sat many times for my friends and co workers, sometimes even weeks on end! I also have a 7 year old puppy and have been taking care of her since I have had her and walk her every single morning! I can come to you to walk your dog or you can bring them to me if more convenient! I have a nice neighborhood for them to be walked in as well!
“Always so kind, courteous and reliable. The furry kids are unpredictable and she is whatever they need. House always in lovely shape, cute pics, the whole deal. Thanks Natalia!”

“Rebecca did a great job taking care of our 2 dogs and 1 cat for a few days, they seemed to have a good time hanging out with her and were all doing well when we got back!”

“Emma did a very good job with her first overnight house sitting job with my dog Violet and kitty Charlie. She asked Qs when necessary and was responsible with caring for my home. I returned to happy pets and a well kept house. Emma was on top of reading the Google doc I share with all of my sitters for schedules, logistics, etc. and I would hire her in the future. Thank you Emma :)”
“Aarti did such a great job taking care of our older dog Duke. She followed all of our instructions and provided us with lots of updates and photos throughout her stay. We could tell she’s an experienced pet sitter and would definitely recommend her if you’re looking for a great house/dog sitter! Thanks Aarti!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Valley Village
Orion is More than we could ever ask for a pet sitter. Our plans changed last minute after a small dog fight where he was originally going to stay at, and our fur baby was going through a very difficult phase afterwards. He was scared and aggressive, and we unfortunately had to leave him with a stranger watching him. Orion became no stranger, and tried his very best to be a warm stable rock while we were away. His patience and kindness is no joke, and his constant updates made our trip possible to be enjoyed. The night that we came back, Umbo had Orion’s sock in his mouth and was whining walking around the house. Safe to say that Umbo, despite being sad that we were gone, was happy that Orion was the one that took care of him.

Hayley is an angel. I cannot overstate how anxious I am leaving my pets in anyone’s care. Hayley was super communicative with everything she did, every outing, every walk, and meals. She gave my dog his medication with no problem. She sent lots of pictures and checked in whenever I needed extra assurance. She also went above and beyond and checked on my garden and did some little home chores that I needed. I’m so grateful. 10/10 would recommend.

Yoo Jee was awesome! She stayed at my apartment and took care of Pancho for a week and when my flight got delayed she came through big time for me. I’ll definitely be booking her again. When I got back from my trip my place was just as j left it and maybe a little neater. She’s a keeper!

Joanne was amazing. There was meet and greet before the actual day of dog sitting. She gave us frequent updates and pictures of our little one throughout the day. She arrived on time in the morning. She followed all our instructions. Happy to have met her through Rover.

Alexandria is the best! We continue to be so happy that she’s available to sit for our dog. She’s super thoughtful and takes such good care of him. Sends us nightly check-ins so we know all is well but doesn’t over-communicate. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter!

Lauren is fantastic. She sent us regular updates and photos and was a great communicator. We felt so comfortable and at ease being away with her there taking care of Percy, and it was clear that he quickly felt comfy with her too. We look forward to working with her again.

Katherine was very responsible and thorough. She sent me frequent pictures and updates of my cat while she was staying with her. I felt like Katherine made Cleo her priority for the days she was booked to pet sit and I appreciated the open lines of communication. I did not worry about Cleo's well-being while I was away because I knew she and Katherine became fast friends.

First time booking with Adam, and I truly can’t thank him enough. Three days before my husband and I were supposed to leave for a work trip, our usual pet sitter texted us saying she had food poisoning and could no longer help. I was honestly terrified. We have a 19-year-old Maltese named Bear who has been by my side since I was 18. Bear is in the final chapter of his life and requires a tremendous amount of specialized care. The thought of leaving him with someone we didn’t know was incredibly stressful. After exhausting every personal connection we had, we finally took a leap of faith and booked Adam through Rover. It was the best decision we could have made. Even with only three days’ notice, Adam went out of his way to make a meet-and-greet happen before we left. From the moment we met him, we immediately felt at ease. He brought professionalism, good vibes, and the attention to detail our animals needed. Adam met our two cats and, most importantly, Bear. We warned him that Bear is deaf, blind, wears diapers full time, and has recently started showing signs of Sundowning/dementia. At this stage of his life, keeping him comfortable and feeling safe is our absolute priority. Because of his needs, we always have someone stay in our home with him when we travel so as to keep him in a familiar environment and not make his confusion worse. I warned Adam there would be accidents, diaper changes, oral medication, and most likely having to wake up with him in the middle of the night if he had any restless spells. Kinda like having a newborn. None of it scared him. Instead, Adam listened, asked thoughtful questions, paid attention to every detail, and made us feel like Bear was in incredibly capable hands. I felt so at ease getting on the plane the next morning. While we were away, Adam kept us updated, communicated consistently, sent us headshot-quality pictures of everyone, and treated our animals with the same patience and care that we would have given them ourselves. Even our cat Ellie, who is scared of everyone new, started to feel comfortable coming out of hiding a few times to say hi! Bear's senior needs are no joke, and I am sure it presented it's challanges for Adam, but he never let us feel that. Every update he sent was full of nothing but positivity, which allowed me to focus on my work trip instead of stressing about what was going on at home. Leaving the needs of my senior pup in a stranger's hands was really hard for me to do. I am so grateful to have found Adam and the excellent care he provides. I walked into our house after 4 days of being away to a clean home, freshly washed sheets, 2 happy cats, and little Bear sleeping peacefully on his bed. He wasn't scared or confused, which is the biggest blessing Adam provided us. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone, but especially to someone who has the same anxieties about leaving their babies with someone they barely know. If Adam will have us, we plan to add him into our pack and his mom, Ruth, too! Adam, thank you for stepping in when we were in a complete bind, for taking such incredible care of Bear, Ellie, and Joe, and most importantly, for giving us the peace of mind to actually enjoy our trip knowing they were safe and loved. Ok, thank you for listening to my TED Talk, now go BOOK ADAM!

Blake was fantastic! He took great care of our dogs and our home while we were away. Our dogs were happy, relaxed, and very well looked after. We would happily recommend Blake to anyone looking for a reliable house sitter / pet sitter, and we'd love to have him back again.

Lane was absolutely amazing and all 4 of our animals love her!! She stayed on top of 4 different feeding schedules, a bunch of medications (including eye drops, pills, and even a cat inhaler), and navigating our unique kitchen rules. The animals all warmed to her so quickly, even our shyer cats who came running up to her by the end of her stay. She sent the best updates with such cute pictures and all the important details which helped put my anxious pet mom self at ease. It made our trip so much better knowing our pets were being taken care of by someone who cares just as much as us. Already booking our next house sitting stay with her!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Valley Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Valley Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Valley Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Valley Village. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
