“Kimberly is the absolute best! She is so caring, sweet, and responsible! She also keeps me updated by providing updates with pictures/videos of my fur baby! Thank you Kimberly for everything! ♥️”

“Adam is fantastic! He was so great with our senior girl and was super relaxed and communicative. Very easy to work with and our doggie seemed like she had a great time with him. We will definitely hire Adam again in the future :)”

“Georgina was absolutely exceptional while caring for our dog, Kobe, during our 13-day trip. From start to finish, she went above and beyond in every way. She carefully administered Kobe’s medication, followed all of our instructions to the letter, and treated him with so much love and attention—it gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Beyond pet care, Georgina took incredible care of our home as well. She watered our plants, brought in the mail, and managed the garbage—everything was spotless and perfectly maintained when we returned. Her attention to detail is truly unmatched. What stood out most was her communication. She kept us consistently updated with messages and lots of photos, which made being away so much easier. We always felt in the loop and confident that everything was being handled beautifully. Georgina is responsible, thoughtful, and incredibly thorough. We feel so lucky to have found her and she will absolutely be our go-to sitter moving forward. Highly, highly recommend!”

“Katherine did an amazing job caring for the pups. Making sure they were given a lot of attention love and care. She was able to administer the medication and the pups were super happy! We appreciate you Katherine and will definitely be booking again!”

“Natalia was awesome! She took great care of our pup while we were out for a few hours. She sent us pictures and updates and our little girl seemed to love her! She was very patient with us figuring out the app, was willing to come last minute, and was punctual in her arrival. We greatly appreciate her help with our baby and would recommend her to anyone!”

“Sara was great! She was prompt for our meet and greet and listened to all of Penny's preferences/quirks. While I was away, she provided consistent updates and photos so I knew Penny was in good hands and doing well. When I got back, the house was exactly as I left it. I've already reached out for her to watch Penny for my next trip :) Thanks again, Sara!”

“This was our very first time with a puppy sitter— on the Rover or otherwise. Emily was an absolute delight with our not-so-easy 10 week puppy and we can’t wait to have her back!!”

“Jade is so sweet and took such amazing care of my baby girl Pikachu! Pikachu had a soft glow in her eyes in every picture, it was clear how comfortable and happy she was with Jade. 10/10 recommend!”
“Shenelle took such good care of our girl during the holiday! Our dog, Rory, hurt her leg the week before our trip so I wanted to make sure she had good support while we were gone. Shenelle was amazing and sent us pictures and updates. We will be booking with her again!”

“Wonderful house sitter. Very communicative and attentive to our senior cat who needs extra TLC. Would recommend to anyone looking for a kind and dependable person. 10/10 ⭐️”

“This is our third time having Russell take care of our little Joey girl. He was wonderful as always, very communicative and prompt with responses. Joey is very comfortable with him. She was her happy, sassy self in all the photos he sent during his stay. He took good care of her and our place as usual and I highly recommend him!”

“Erin was great! Super communicative throughout the booking which we really appreciated. It was great to get regular updates on how things were going and what they had been up to. We had confidence that our animals were in great hands and we would absolutely book with Erin again!”

About: Cat dad to two wonderful children. In my spare time I rescue, foster, and find homes for cats. I’m comfortable with all sorts of cats, from lazy to spicy, I always let the cat choose their own pace in how they want to interact with me. While I don’t have a dog right now, I grew up surrounded by them and have a lot of experience taking care, walking, and playing with them. I have experience with senior animals and giving medicine when needed. I will treat your fur babies with the love and care I give my own. I’m a copywriter/proofreader who works from home so I’m happy to fit your animal care taking needs into my very flexible schedule. I’m very patient and let the animals warm up to me at their own pace. Whether that’s on walks or when dropping in for a home visit.
“Becca is amazing! My new puppy was in such great hands and it gave me such peace of mind while out at dinner. She sent updates and was so incredibly friendly. Thank you again!!”

“Alexandria took excellent care of our spirited Golden Retriever. And she provided wonderful photos and updates throughout our trip providing great relief for us while we were away from our dog.”

“Christina is great! She is quick with communication and sent me some cute pictures of the girls during their time with her. Our dogs can be a little anxious around people or places that are unfamiliar so it is so relieving to know that Christina will stay in our apartment where they are comfortable. It is obvious that she has a lot of experience with many temperaments of dogs. We have already booked the girls for their next weekend with Christina!”

About: I grew up raising animals (big and small) in Texas and when I moved to LA for work, I started to take care of animals for friends and colleagues. If I can give a pet owner peace of mind their fur baby will be taken care of, plus have the joy and being with that animal, that’s a win-win I work from home as a freelance creative and have plenty of time and energy to care for animals. I love them so much, it really doesn’t feel like a job. It’s wonderful to care for them and help pet owners have peace of mind their fur babies are in good hands Every pet reacts differently to new people, and every home has their own routines and preferences. I’ve always found if you show respect to an animal and what they’re used to, you’ll bond with them and make them feel safe. I’m very used to every client having different needs, there’s no “one size fits all” approach. I live in the first floor of an apartment with a community yard and I have a patio with grass for quick potty breaks. I enjoy Long walks in my Valley Village neighborhood which is very safe, and I love walking dogs multiple times a day if needed
“Chelsea went above and beyond to take care of Winston and Miso! Not only did she check in frequently, but she shared tons of photos and videos, and even did training with our pup. Winston can be a handful, and we felt at ease knowing Chelsea was watching after him. We would happily trust her to take care of our little ones next time we are away! Thank you so much, Chelsea!”

About: I have a dog named Nacho. He is a 13 year old chihuahua mix (my old man). He loves his walks and we never skip. We walk twice a day, I'll adjust times depending on how hot it is outside. I have a spacious yard for friends with pets to come play. We'll occasionally go to the dog park in the mornings or afternoons to socialize with other dogs. I have dog sat for friends/family (all different breeds & sizes!). We have lived with several different pets at a time so Nacho has no issue with other pups. He will play with small/medium size dogs closer to his size but generally will leave them alone. I have plenty of dog toys stocked up and snacks/treats (if you're ok with them). I love all animals and am very excited to meet yours! I am on my summer break from teaching at an elementary school which means plenty of free time to give your pet all the attention! While I understand all basic care instructions, I value if there are any special requests or concerns. Will definitely do my best to make sure your pet is in the safest and best care possible.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Valley Village
We are so lucky that Alexandria moved to LA shortly after we did! We previously worked with her in Seattle and always had a great experience, and sure enough we had another stress-free weekend away when we left our dog with Alexandria over 4th of July 2026. She always goes above and beyond to leave the house even cleaner than she found it, stripping the bed and taking out the trash without being asked. Would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter.

Most pet sitters are great with dogs, but not all of them really know how to handle cats. Alyssa was amazing with my feisty cat. She gave her medication every single day and spent plenty of quality time with my cats, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. If you’re a fellow cat mom, I can’t recommend Alyssa enough. She really knows how to deal with cats! 😍🙏

Jaime was so considerate and my picky cat loved her. She communicated wonderfully and was great about giving updates. She was also a great guest while staying in my home and took extra care of everything so the apartment was perfect when I arrived back from my trip.

Joanne stayed with our cats, Charlie and Bear, for a week while we were traveling in Europe, and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. She was incredibly attentive and sent thoughtful daily updates with photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were out of the country. She was wonderful about communicating, asking questions when needed, and making sure both cats received the individual care and attention they needed. She was especially patient and caring while helping our newer cat continue to adjust, and it was clear she truly took the time to understand their personalities and make them feel comfortable. When we came home, our place was in excellent condition and our cats were clearly happy and well cared for. We’re so grateful for the love and attention she gave them and would absolutely book Joanne again. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and caring sitter!

Katie was absolutely great!! She sent updates, asked questions, and took such great care of our two dogs and home! Upon meeting for the first time, both boys instantly took a liking to her which put our minds at ease. Would highly recommend booking with Katie and we will definitely be rebooking in the future :)!

Leah is an outstanding dog sitter. She stayed with our dog for almost 2 weeks and developed a strong, loving bond with our fur baby. Our dog needs lots of reassurance and patience and Leah went over and beyond in providing that! Leah sent us adorable pictures and stayed constantly in touch while we were away. She attended to all of our needs as well as our dog’s high demands! I highly recommend Leah as a dog sitter while you are away and as a positive, responsible person to take care of your pet and home!! Yvette L

FAQs for House Sitting - Valley Village
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Valley Village on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 13,381 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Valley Village. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Valley Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Valley Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Valley Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Valley Village. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
