“Yvonne was absolutely amazing with our babies! My dog was a scared little nuisance at first and barked at her nonstop, but Yvonne never gave up. She was incredibly patient, calm, and understanding, giving him the time and space she needed to warm up to her. Before long, not only had she accepted her, but all of my pets were following her around and asking for pets and attention! It was so reassuring to know they were with someone who genuinely cared about them and respected their different personalities. She went above and beyond, kept us updated, and treated them like her own. I can’t recommend Yvonne enough, and we’ll definitely be booking with her again. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our little family!”

“Jill has helped us out again. I've never had anything but pleasant and beyond satisfactory experiences with Jill's work. Anyone who hires her will leave their pets in thorough and capable hands. Thanks, Jill!”
About: I grew up raising animals (big and small) in Texas and when I moved to LA for work, I started to take care of animals for friends and colleagues. If I can give a pet owner peace of mind their fur baby will be taken care of, plus have the joy and being with that animal, that’s a win-win I work from home as a freelance creative and have plenty of time and energy to care for animals. I love them so much, it really doesn’t feel like a job. It’s wonderful to care for them and help pet owners have peace of mind their fur babies are in good hands Every pet reacts differently to new people, and every home has their own routines and preferences. I’ve always found if you show respect to an animal and what they’re used to, you’ll bond with them and make them feel safe. I’m very used to every client having different needs, there’s no “one size fits all” approach. I live in the first floor of an apartment with a community yard and I have a patio with grass for quick potty breaks. I enjoy Long walks in my Valley Village neighborhood which is very safe, and I love walking dogs multiple times a day if needed
About: I've taken care of dogs since I was a wee lad! Primarily German Shepherds within my family! One of my dogs did have heart worm, so I am familiar with handling pill medication. I am very gentle and loving, and will become your dog's new best friend! I currently work part-time as a Substitute Teacher! Schools are about to close for the summer, so I will have plenty of free time during the summer months to help you out! I am very flexible and can do last-minute bookings as well! I generally tend to work at a gentle/slow pace to bond and gain your pet's trust! That is first and foremost. Then, to give the comfort and support that it needs. I very much enjoy the fun that came come from playtime, but of course, boundaries that must be set will be set. Including, if they need to be caged around a certain time, or cannot eat after a certain time, etc.
“Elizabeth was so sweet and did an amazing job with our pups! We felt completely at ease and comfortable after meeting her, and will definitely trust her to take care of our dogs in the future.”

About: As a human race, we're lucky to have these wonderful creatures. Unfortunately, my fiancee and I don't have the space for our own pooch and would welcome the opportunity to meet as many of these beautiful animals as possible. For years, I've worked from home and my fiancee has a surprisingly flexible schedule. Essentially, it would fit wonderfully into our schedules and be a welcome responsibility. First and foremost, we would take care of the pets according to the owner's instructions and needs (and pets needs). Secondly, we provide a warm, loving, safe, and comfortable home for pets. It would be like a vacation getaway for them. Furthermore, we understand that sometimes a mess can happen. This is why it's beneficial that my fiancee and I both now how to get stains out, haha. Sometimes someone spills the milk. But it ain't worth crying over.
“Naomi was a dedicated sitter and was very helpful and communicative with me about my dog. She took a few things in stride and I appreciate that. Would hire her again for certain.”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats my entire life, giving me extensive experience with a wide variety of breeds and personalities. I truly love all fur-babies and am comfortable handling most tasks, from everyday care to the more unpredictable puppy moments! I’m also experienced with both short visits and extended stays, and always happy to help however I can. I currently work three days a week, but I’m flexible and happy to work around your pet’s needs. With a little notice, I can be fully available whenever needed. I’m more than happy to do overnight stays, quick drop-ins for potty breaks, or multiple walks throughout the day. I love keeping pets active and am always up for playtime! Whether it’s a trip to the park or a hike, I have a spacious car that’s perfect for transporting both large and small breeds.
“We love Kelly’s attention to detail when it comes to our high energy 3 yr old Boxer. On top of following all instructions for the care he needs, she also captures the perfect pictures of our boy in a photo grid format and sends them throughout the drop in visit! We can’t thank her enough, do not hesitate to book with Kelly.”

“Sara was great! She took care of our cat during an extended period, checking in regularly and providing updates that gave us peace of mind. Her communication was good, she was friendly, and reliable. We’ll be using Sara’s services again and would recommend her.”

“Genesis is a wonderful cat sitter! She’s helped me with last min requests and is very responsive and reliable! She takes great photos and your kitty cat will be well fed and played with :) Thanks again!”

About: Hi my name is Fox! I take groups of dogs to the park daily (like dog camp!) It’s incredibly good for the dogs to be outside playing with other dogs to drain energy. Dogs are very closely supervised so they are safe. I love being around dogs and guarantee your dog will come home calm and refreshed. I’m available Sundays through Thursdays all day. I can board small-medium sized dogs during those days of the week upon request. Doggy day camp at the dog park every morning I am always supervising the animals in my care. Dogs are always well exercised and loved and socialized. Every new client goes through a trial run to make sure they are okay with other dogs
“Adam was awesome! We came back to very happy dogs and Adam sent us plenty of pictures to let us know how happy our dogs were. We have large, high energy dogs so this was no easy task! Adam definitely went above and beyond what was expected!!”

“Dea was amazing! I was so anxious about leaving Cali behind, but she made the process soo easy. She was so communicative and I can tell she puts a ton of love and care into what she does. Will definitely book her again in the future!”

“Catherine was amazing! She came prior to our scheduled visit to meet my cats and introduce herself. She learned very quickly how to administer my cat’s medication, and she handled everything perfectly.”

About: I grew up with mostly dogs, but also ended up with three cats. I’ve pet sat for family and friends. But more recently have helped dog sit while my clients were on vacation. They were senior dogs who needed medication and some extra love and care. I’m currently an afternoon nanny 2pm-6pm on Week days. This will allow me to do early mornings and midday visits or walks. I am open to evening visits as well. My weekends are some what flexible, with enough advance notice I am free to visit or petsit if schedule permits. If I’m going to walk a dog, I make sure that arrive promptly, take them for a walk and provide update. I’ll make sure to be respectful of your space and privacy. Same would apply if I’m doing a drop in for a kitty. Make sure your pets are safe and happy. When I sit for a family I can do drop ins or spend the night. I walk in the morning and feed your pets and then go to work in the afternoon. Come back walk and play and do dinner. I’ll make sure to clean up after my visits and respect your home.
“As always, Dayna is the best kitty sitter. Always gives my cats tons of playtime, and affection. Always detail oriented with care, and goes above and beyond with fun photos and videos, giving me tons of assurance they are happy and safe while I’m gone. Thanks so much Dayna!!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Valley Village
Yvonne was an easy choice for my family when we had to go out of town. My baby, Tater Tot, is a simple cat, but he sometimes has mildly complex issues. It was clear from the start that Yvonne was ready to take care of our baby. We arranged an easy meet and greet, and we could see that Yvonne understood Tater's needs. They shared photos via Rover card twice a day and our minds were eased seeing that Tater was doing well. Yvonne cleaned litter, refilled food and water, and also took care of Tater's special needs, like daily face cleaning and eyedrop application. It's hard to leave your pets at any time, but I believe that you can trust that your pet is good hands when you book Yvonne. Thank you!

All of my kitties fell in love with Vanessa. She was as attentive to the shy and aloof adult cats as she was to the playful 12-week-old foster kittens. This was something I really appreciated, as my adult cats - while not hostile - aren't exactly charming to strangers. Vanessa told me she brought her own cat from to California when she moved here. That told me she thinks of pets as true lifetime companions. She then also adopted a dog and just exudes positive vibes. I would 100% recommend her services.

It was my first time using Rover and I had a very good first experience. Mackenzie came for a meet and greet and made me feel comfortable leaving my fur babies in her care. She did a great job communicating and handling my cats having to be separate for the weekend. I would def rebook with her .

Lane is a very caring and conscientious cat sitter. She listens and follows instructions and goes above & beyond to make sure your pet is well taken care of. We have a very shy cat and she did everything possible to gain his trust and make sure he ate. I would highly recommend Lane to anyone needing an excellent pet sitter.

Our senior cat feels very comfortable in Valerie’s care. She’s a wonderful cat sitter! Our cat needs medication and can be a bit difficult about taking it, but Valerie was able to give it to her without any issues. We felt completely at ease knowing our cat was in good hands. We’ll definitely be booking with Valerie again!

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Valley Village. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
