“Yvonne has been wonderful, and I highly recommend her! She came for a meet and greet beforehand, which I really appreciated, and it was clear she has experience working with dogs of different temperaments. My dog can be leash and dog reactive, so it was important to find someone I could trust. She’s always punctual, communicates well, and sends a detailed report with photos shortly after each walk. I truly appreciate the great care she gives my dog and the peace of mind she provides! We’re very lucky to have her as our dog walker!”

“Isela was great! She walked our large, willful goldendoodle for 2 weeks and did a wonderful job at keeping her moving. She was professional, on time and friendly, and we would highly recommend her to other dog owners!”

About: My experience comes from a lifetime of caring for my own pets and those of friends and family. I am highly detail-oriented and prioritize safety and clear communication above all else. I love providing frequent photo and video updates so you can see your family member enjoying their second home. Whether it's playing fetch in a secure environment or enjoying quiet cuddles on the sofa, I ensure every pet feels integrated and at ease As a virtual student, I have the freedom to structure my day around pet care. I take frequent breaks between classes for walks, playtime, and backyard stretches. Your pet will enjoy a consistent routine and plenty of attention, as I am home 90% of the time. My flexible schedule allows me to accommodate last-minute bookings or specific care needs. I currently take virtual classes, which gives me a lot of flexibility to organize my day around pet care. While my schedule can vary, I’m home most of the time and can easily adapt to your pet's feeding and potty breaks. For safety, I always keep dogs on a leash during walks to ensure they are secure. I focus on clear communication and will send you updates and photos so you can be sure your family member is happy and well-cared for.
“This review is LONG overdue! Elizabeth has been providing weekly walks for my Frenchie for over a year (maybe longer) and she is amazing! Elizabeth is so caring, she takes great care of my pup and she is comfortable giving him medications when needed. My dog has a spine issue (IVDD) and Elizabeth has been so helpful in carefully caring for him during a flare. She’s flexible and understanding when/if my schedule changes and my dog adores her. My neighbors have even commented on how great Elizabeth is with my dog and how she takes her time walking with him, playing and giving him love. I’m so grateful to have found Elizabeth on Rover!”
“This was my first time working with Lane and I am so happy with the experience. Her communication was quick and so professional and also very detailed. Kept me in the loop as the appointment went on.”

“Found David last minute! He is flexible, dependable, and can follow instruction’s. He treats my dog like his own and trust him with his knowledge and care for pets!”

“Emily was delightful. I will be booking her again! I scheduled her to walk my 5-year-old Aussie for 10 days after I had surgery, and I couldn't walk him myself. He can be a handful, especially if another dog barks at him, and he had never been walked by a "stranger". She handled him very well and he returned home happy and tired. Emily was never late, texted me a few minutes before arriving, and sent photos of them along the walk. She is great and I can highly recommend her. Thank you Emily!!”

About: Hi, my name is Kate Gray, and I’m a 30- something year old LA native, with more than 10 year experience taking care of dogs. I have fostered dogs ever since I graduated college (go Bruins!), having fostered over 10 dogs with orgs like Wags & Walks, MaeDay Rescue, Pup Culture Rescue, and more. I have also been graced by the heavens with my own dog/child, Remi. She is my best friend, and I rescued her in 2020. Ever since, my life revolves around her, and frankly all dogs, not even just my own! I am consistently the go-to person for my friends, family, and neighbors to watch their dogs, or walk whenever they need, because of my love for dogs, and undeniable dedication to making sure their pup has the best time adventuring! I truly feel it’s always an incredible honor to get to know every dog, and would love to provide my services to you when needed! I'm very open to meeting beforehand to ensure you can trust me with your child, I absolutely understand <3 My dog is my life, so pet care is simultaneous with self care - constant! I take my dog out for daily hikes around Elysian Park, a daily walk, and sometimes fetch in an open field if she's lucky! Having recently been laid off by my full time at Warner Music, I have been applying my love for dogs and care-taking qualities to watching dogs and open schedule, and would love to extend that to you, my hopeful future client! I watch the dog the entire time, ensuring they do not eat anything they're not supposed to, have any accidents, and even get in to a lil mayhem. I make sure to keep all needed doors and gates closed, while also being mindful of their need for exercise with plenty of indoor/outdoor playing, light command training for brain stimuli, and a bunch of pets! I make sure to adapt my actions per each pet, all the while ensuring they are safe and cared for.
“First time having Catherine stop by to feed and walk Meaty since our plans ran later than expected! Such a relief that Catherine was able to help out today! Meaty looked so happy in the pictures and videos sent! Until next time!”

About: I have had cats and dogs and mice and fish my whole life, and have been many people's go-to consultant for care and advice, and for taking care of their pets when they're out of town. I am one of those people that folks say have "a way with animals". Always have, even when I was a toddler. I can administer medications and injections, help with puppy training, and bring your shy pet out of his or her shell. I rescued my own kitties when they were only a week old and syringe and bottle-fed them and reared them up to be sturdy upright feline citizens of the world. I'm good with the "difficult" cases, and a gentle loving companion to the seniors. I do this because I adore and feel a bond with all animals and creatures of all kinds. :) I am available for morning and mid-day walks and drop-ins, and some evening walks depending on the day, and evening drop-ins most days of the week. I'll dote on your pets as if they are my own, and am happy to follow their routines and rituals and also bring a little novelty and fun to their day.
“Dana is amazing with our two dogs Marty and Wally! She has done regular dog walking and an extended pet sitting job for them this year. I feel great knowing how much she loves them and looks after them like her own! And they are always so happy after her visits! I highly recommend Dana!”

About: Growing up in a household full of furry companions, I've been immersed in the wonderful world of dogs since day one. From the playful antics of a Maltese to the gentle giant demeanor of a Great Dane, I've had the pleasure of caring for a diverse range of breeds throughout my life. With this deep-rooted passion and experience, I'm thrilled at the opportunity to extend my love and expertise to your cherished fur babies while you're away. Rest assured, they'll receive the utmost care, attention, and affection in a familiar and nurturing environment. Currently, I'm balancing part-time work, granting me flexibility in my schedule. On weekdays, from Monday to Thursday, I'm readily available between 4pm and 8pm to tend to your furry friend's needs. As for overnight stays, I can accommodate some weekends with a bit of advanced planning. Your peace of mind and your pet's comfort are my top priorities, and I'm committed to ensuring both through open communication and careful scheduling. I've equipped my apartment with cozy sleeping areas and fun toys they can play with for overnights. I live in an apartment complex now so we have a fenced-in potty area and then I will usually walking them outside around the building. We do have other dogs in the building to be aware of but all of them are very nice and smaller. My apartment and neighborhood is a safe space ensuring your furry companions stay happy and active throughout the day. Whether they prefer lounging in comfort or frolicking in the great outdoors, I've got their needs covered!
About: I grew up around animals: cats, a dog, even two gerbils. I also pet-sat for my neighbor while I was in high school. I am lucky now to have a crazy lovebug orange kitty named Mr. Buttons. He sadly has no interest in being around dogs or other cats, so I have to look outside our home to satisfy my love for them. I am as trustworthy as they come, and I believe pet care should come above all else. I'm currently working part-time, so my schedule is very flexible and I'm amenable to any kind of arrangement for caring for your pets. I'm typically free on weekdays, but as I said, my schedule changes and there are always exceptions. My priority is to build trust both with the pet and owner. I follow all instructions laid out to the T and ensure the pet feels comfortable and safe in my presence. I also respect the pet owner's home by leaving it exactly as I found it. It's vitally important to me that your pet feels loved even when you are away, so I never skimp out on pets or cuddles when they are desired.
“Jamie did a wonderful job taking our dogs out for their daily 1-hour walks! She offered to meet the boys for a meet and greet and they immediately warmed up to her friendly and sweet personality. Jamie was great with communication and always reached out if she needed to update us or had a question. We're so happy with her services and will be asking her to take care of our little one next week for a few days. Don't hesitate to reach out to Jamie for your pet care needs!”

About: I grew up raising animals (big and small) in Texas and when I moved to LA for work, I started to take care of animals for friends and colleagues. If I can give a pet owner peace of mind their fur baby will be taken care of, plus have the joy and being with that animal, that’s a win-win I work from home as a freelance creative and have plenty of time and energy to care for animals. I love them so much, it really doesn’t feel like a job. It’s wonderful to care for them and help pet owners have peace of mind their fur babies are in good hands Every pet reacts differently to new people, and every home has their own routines and preferences. I’ve always found if you show respect to an animal and what they’re used to, you’ll bond with them and make them feel safe. I’m very used to every client having different needs, there’s no “one size fits all” approach. I live in the first floor of an apartment with a community yard and I have a patio with grass for quick potty breaks. I enjoy Long walks in my Valley Village neighborhood which is very safe, and I love walking dogs multiple times a day if needed
“Dea is extremely attentive to my fur baby. Shes even been helping her with loose leash walking! She sends videos and photos while I’m at work and it always brings a smile to my face :) I recommend Dea to anyone looking for a trustworthy and reliable dog walker!”

“I reached out around 8:30 at night looking for a last minute walk, and he responded right away and was able to come that same evening. He showed up on time, was really friendly, and did a great job with my anxious dog. I was a little worried since my dog has been having a hard time lately, but he was so patient with him. When they got back, my dog seemed so much happier and more relaxed. I really appreciated how responsive and reliable he was, and I would definitely book with him again.”

“Shakira is great with Cooper. She’s easy to communicate with and has an amazing attitude. She sends photos and updates throughout her visit or walk. I Absolutely recommend her to anyone in need.”

About: From my sister's dog that I practically trained as a kid (thanks to dog training TV shows and videos), to my roommate's sweet kitten, and my own childhood dog, so much of my life has been shaped and defined by the animals I surround myself with. I became a go-to sitter and walker for neighbors and friends. I work part-time, so I'd love to fill the other time with some amazing pets! I have a few weekdays free as well as weekends! I love giving animals the attention and love they deserve! I'll play with them and give them quality time that they want and need! Tell me their favorite things and I'll accommodate!
About: Hi all!! I am 27 years old- I just quit my teaching job that I have been in since graduating college and moved to California. I have not found a job yet as I am not looking to go back into teaching and could really use some extra work at the moment while finding something more long term! I have a 1 year old cat and a 6 year old bunny who I love to death 💜 I would love to come watch/walk/spend time with/love your lil fur babies when you aren’t able to. Mine mean the absolute world to me & I will treat yours like one of my own! I have a great deal of experience with cat sitting, dog sitting, rabbit sitting, and small animal sitting! I have a cat and rabbit myself, and my mom has five guinea pigs that I care for when she needs help. I understand that rabbits and small animals have unique needs that not all sitters understand, and I am more than happy to say that I do understand the struggle of finding a trustworthy sitter for your babies. I am here to be your trustworthy sitter for your sweet fur babies! I have extreme flexibility with my current job as I am working from my computer! I am available throughout the weeks and weekends for drop-ins and overnights! I have a cat and a rabbit that I live with in my one bedroom apartment. I just traveled across the country with them to move & it went SO well! They are best friends and bonded very well, both lovey and playful girls!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Valley Village
Adam is the dog whisperer of dog whisperers. Our pitbull Camilla is normally hesitant to walk with a new person and will not venture far away from home the first time, but she was immediately smitten with Adam and they walked together for the entire hour! We have used so many dog walkers. This is the first and only time Camilla felt this comfortable with someone. We’re so happy we found someone our dog is excited to walk with. He didn’t even need to use treats to coax her. Adam is a needle in a haystack type of dog walker for the type of dog we have.

Vanesa was absolutely amazing with my dog. She took care of absolutely everything perfectly, EXACTLY as I asked and is a true professional and very responsible. She is extremely kind and listens to instructions very very well. Due to starting a new job and moving to a new residence simultaneously, I needed last minute help making sure my dog was walked and loved on during my long shifts and Vanesa had me totally covered! She made sure my pup was extremely well taken care of and safe as well as perfectly locking up the house and securing the gate and key in the lock box exactly as I described. She is truly excellent with animals and adds that extra special touch of going the extra mile to make the experience truly wonderful and I will absolutely be booking her many more times in the future. Thanks Vanesa!
My pups immediately warmed to Emily and seemed to really enjoy their walks with her. Emily was attentive and easy to communicate with, handled the little extras easily (wiping paws, varying their walks, etc) and always brought my packages in (which I never asked her to do but greatly appreciated). I feel at ease knowing she’s got their backs. I will be booking her again imminently.

Luna LOVED DeShaude. Though I was not surprised -he has such a way with animals… they know he is safe and loves them 💙 we hadn’t seen him in a while and our older pup just passed so it was a bit hard to leave her but DeShaude made it so much easier. We got pics of walks and a report every time he took her out. Highly recommend!

Natalie was great! My dog was kinda picky with his walkers but he instantly loved Natalie. Natalie walked my dog weekly and was very communicative and responsive to arranging walks. She also gave a detailed report of his walks and sent the best pictures! Thank you Natalie for your time :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
