About: I’m an experienced animal lover looking to care for others in my free time. I’ve grown up with animals (dogs, cats, fish, turtles, bird) and have had dogs of my own. I currently do not have pets and live alone, allowing me to provide a private space and 1x1 attention. I’ve dealt with all kinds of temperaments, specifically with reactive dogs, so I understand the accommodations needed to ease their nerves. I work full-time regular office hours, so currently only available Friday through Sunday for boarding. I am also available in the evenings in weekdays for walks or short term care. I do not share my home with any other people or pets, so your pet would have my full attention. I allow pets on furniture and love to just spend time with them. I also live next door to a large park for walks.
“Stephen and Derick were so welcoming to us and out little doggie. They explained Rover and helped us get into a nice routine with dog walking. They walked Finny each day and reassured us that our pup was doing great. Finny has really taken to them and they are so nice with the neighbourhood walks and play time. We are definitely going to be using Stephen again very soon! What a wonderful dog walker.”

“Elizabeth was a great pet and house sitter. She sent updates and pictures while we were away. The pets were happy and the house looked great when we returned. We will definitely use her again.”

About: Humble brag incoming: I'm a dog's kinda person. I just vibe with them and we are often drawn to each other when I'm out walking around Los Angeles. I will hear a dog parent say things like "My dog never likes other people." or a dog will spot me from afar and refuse to move until I say Hello. It's happened so often, that I'm convinced I was a dog in a past life. Truly, there is no feeling better then building a connection with a dog; When they are excited to see you, there is no better positive affirmation. I've had dogs since my teen years in the 90s and cats since I left for college in the 2000s. I love getting to know cats and earning their trust. Im always hopeful for a head butt, but I respect their boundaries always. I'm looking forward to meeting your dogs and cats. Tell em I said Hi. I'm available to watch your fur babies anytime. Check with me if you need anyone for an early walk for your pup or an evening visit to feed your cat if you can't make it home. My kitty roommate is self-sufficient at home, so staying with your pet overnight is very doable. I will come to your home to care for your animals in their home environment. First, I will always be a calming, kind presence to your fur baby. Second, I enjoy getting to give them a lil workout. Dogs need that movement to feel normal and I love being there for it! You tell me if the walk should be brief and in the neighborhood or if your dog likes to hike, I offer that, too. Panting dogs after a walk are my favorite. As for kitties, I Approach With Caution and as a roommate to a feline myself, I know some will take a minute to let their guard down. I know how to read body language of animals and I take every step possible to make sure they are at ease, well fed and cared for.
“Nicole has been such a lovely sitter to work with and we are so grateful to have had the chance to meet her. She’s taken care of our Milo, above and beyond! With a pretty in flux schedule, Nicole has many times come on a moments notice, and always provided detailed communication about availabilities and walks. On other occasions Nicole has taken the time to teach Milo a few tricks! Can’t say enough great things about our experience in working with Nicole!”

“Robbie was awesome with our puppy. Our puppy is very timid and gets really nervous with new people but Robbie took extra time to let our puppy get to know him at his own pace. Robbie was always on time, gave great updates and sent awesome pics, which made me so much more comfortable. Will definitely hire Robbie in the future!”

About: Dogs have been a part of my everyday life for as long as I can remember. Growing up with them taught me how to read their moods, keep them active, and make them feel completely secure. Neighbors, friends, and family have always trusted me to walk, feed, and care for their pets because I treat every dog with the same love, patience, and attention I'd give my own. Whether we are heading out for an energetic run or just hanging out, your companion will be safe, happy, and completely at home with me. My schedule is wonderfully flexible, which means your dog gets maximum attention and company. I’m an early riser and love starting the day with outdoor movement, so your pup will easily fit right into my active routine of morning runs, midday check-ins, and evening wind downs. Safety and comfort always come first in my space. Whether we are out exploring trails or relaxing at home, I keep a close eye on surroundings, maintain clear boundaries, and adapt completely to your dog’s specific behavioral needs, dietary routines, and comfort levels.
“Olivia is amazing with my small dog! She’s very active with her and also knows when xerox wants to stay in and just get some pets or playtime in. Communicative, trustworthy and friendly :) highly recommend if you need a consistent walker.”

“Guillermo is a trust worthing person you get the vibe right away. His very nice and takes care of my dog since it was my first time allowing anyone walk my dog. His just great!”

“Georgia bonded with Buster, you can’t ask for more when you’re miles away. Thank you for all the pictures and updates. Good to know he was happy in our absence. We’ll need you again, especially when our children are in town and we’re doing day trips.”
About: love dogs at every stage of life, from playful puppies to sweet senior companions. I’m attentive, patient, and committed to understanding each dog’s unique needs. I’ll work closely with you to create a schedule that keeps your dog happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I have a consulting business, so I make my own hours and schedule. I can be available with short notice if needed for recurring clients. I care for pets by following their normal routines as closely as possible to keep them comfortable and stress-free. In a client’s home, I respect their space and ensure feeding, walks, playtime, and any special instructions are followed carefully. I prioritize safety, consistency, and communication so you always know how your pet is doing.
“I highly recommend Julia as a dog walker! On Charlie’s first walk with her, she was incredibly patient and took the time to make him feel safe and comfortable. Charlie is usually shy with strangers, but Julia’s gentle approach won him over quickly. She’s fantastic!”

“Bonnie is amazing! She is friendly and super easy to communicate with. Bonnie helps us walk Cat - our dog weekly & updated to us about her. Cat is always happy whenever she spends time with Bonnie. We highly recommend Bonnie. Thank you so much for helping us!”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life, as both of my parents are veterinarians. That environment gave me a deep understanding of animal behavior, health, and emotional needs from a very young age. I have hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats of all temperaments, including puppies, seniors, and more sensitive or anxious pets. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, administering basic medications, and creating a calm, safe environment tailored to each pet. What sets me apart is not just experience, but genuine care, I pay attention, I’m patient, and I treat every pet like family. My schedule is flexible, which allows me to give pets the time, attention, and consistency they need. I can accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening visits, as well as overnight care when needed. I prioritize being present and not rushing through visits, so your pet gets real attention, not just a quick check-in. I’m reliable, communicative, and committed to making sure your pet feels secure and cared for while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I create a calm, clean, and secure environment where pets can feel at ease. I pay close attention to details whether that’s securely closing doors, monitoring behavior, or following specific care instructions exactly as given. Because of my background, I’m very aware of signs of stress or discomfort and respond quickly and responsibly. I also keep owners updated with messages and photos, so you always feel connected and reassured. You can trust that your pet will be treated with patience, respect, and genuine care at all times.
About: I believe animals are more in touch with life and nature than we are, so I respect and admire them very much!! In 2021 I adopted a 10 week old rescue pup from Tijuana. Her name is Stella and she is the sweetest most social pup ever. I read multiple books on puppy training and took her to socialization and obedience classes. With my pets in the past and Stella as well, I have been through the vet visits, unexpected mishaps, giving meds and other issues that can come up as a pet parent so I am confident that I can handle anything that might come up. But mainly—Stella and I are very affectionate and love to provide a cozy, playful and relaxing environment for your doggie while you’re away. I'm freelancing as a writer and work from home so my schedule revolves around my dog's needs. Walks are more frequent when the weather is under 80. I have a balcony with mesh over all the rails, there is a canopy bed there where Stella likes to sit in the sun and a play tent which can be used for a quick potty break if needed.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats, and have always had a cool connection with animals and nature. Very in-tune with what an animal is feeling and taking care of them is second nature to me. Whether it’s play time, cuddles, or just being there for company, it’s always a great experience to ensure they’re happy when you get back!(: I’m a full-time art director but I work from home quite frequently so it allows for flexibility within my schedule. I can work with you to make sure your pets needs are met with attention and care. My apartment has a gated front door (2 doors) for extra safety. I have space to allow for your pet to relax as well as a balcony if they like to feel some sun and relax. It’s super quaint and calm here. My cats love it.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - West Hollywood
Victoria has been great with my dog Brandi. She goes above and beyond to ensure she feels comfortable before her walk and brings her on little adventures when it is too hot outside. I appreciate her care for my pup, I know she's in good hands. Thank you, Victoria. 😊

To someone who has a reactive dog with resource guarding, finding a dog sitter can be challenging. I’ve used the same dog sitter for almost 8 years and was hesitant to see how my reactive dog would do with a new sitter. My dog loved Melissa and I felt comfortable handing him off with no concerns. She also has experience with reactivity and resource guarding so the process did not feel worrisome.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
