“Yoo Jee is the best! She took excellent care of our pets and home! One of our bathrooms flooded unfortunately while we were gone and she took care of everything. We will definitely hire her again.”

“Lauren was an absolute dream: punctual, friendly, professional, communicative, and, most importantly, kind, compassionate, and responsible in her in-home care of our two doggies. She sent regular texts, photos, and even videos updating us on the progress of her stay. We would not hesitate to book her again, and encourage anyone to do the same! 5 stars”

About: As a proud owner of a 2 year mini goldendoodle that trained myself, I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and loving care. I have experience in daily pet care, walks, playtime, and basic training, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. My goal is to keep your furry family member happy, safe, and comfortable while your away 🐾 I work remotely which allows me to be available throughout the day and meet your pets needs, maintain their routine, and ensure plenty of care and supervision. My flexibility also makes it easy to accommodate different schedules and last minute requests when possible. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important trust and reliability are, and I treat every home and pet with the same respect and care I would expect for my own. When caring for pets in a clients home, I focus on maintaining their normal routine so they feel comfortable and secure in their familiar environment. I can carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding schedules, walks, medications?l, and any special needs. I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while keeping their space clean and safe. I also provide regular updates, photos, and communication so owners can feel confident that their pets are happy and well cared for while they are away.
About: I have experience taking care of dogs with all kinds of personalities energetic , zoomy, clingy, dramatic, sleepy. plus I fully support snack breaks and emotional support belly rubs. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I already live an active lifestyle and enjoy being outdoors. I have a flexible schedule, so I’m able to make time for walks, playtime, feeding routines, and giving pets attention throughout the day. I follow the owner’s routine closely for feeding, potty breaks, walks, medication (if needed), and playtime so pets stay on their normal schedule. “Nike warmed up to Jaclyn faster than expected, which speaks volumes about Jaclyn's energy and presence. Hoping this is the beginning of a long pet-sitting relationship :)”
“Will absolutely be using Russel’s services again! He was wonderful with our puppy. He was very attentive in sending updates and being prompt. We highly recommend him.”

“Angel did an amazing job watching my pup for 2 days at my place. She kept me up to date throughout each day and sent plenty of photos. I appreciated her responsiveness and Lucky seems to have enjoyed having her around! He received plenty of attention from Angel and kept him great company. My place was in order when I came back and I wouldn’t hesitate to book her for another dog/home sitting!”

“Elena did an awesome job with our dog, and she was incredibly communicative and helpful throughout the stay. She sent great pictures, let us know when anything needed our attention, and was always willing to help if we needed it. Would absolutely book her again!”

“Kimberly is the absolute best! She is so caring, sweet, and responsible! She also keeps me updated by providing updates with pictures/videos of my fur baby! Thank you Kimberly for everything! ♥️”

About: Grew up around dogs and have helped friends raise three puppies from a young age. While I don’t currently have a dog of my own, I’m very comfortable interacting with dogs, understand their behavior, and know how to build trust. I’m patient, attentive, and especially confident caring for puppies and energetic dogs. I work full-time, but I’m available to provide pet care after work on weekdays and have full availability on weekends. I am okay to adjust my calendar to accommodate your schedule. I live in an apartment with two resident cats. For overnight stays, I can only accept dogs who are calm and comfortable around cats. If your dog is not cat-friendly, I’m happy to help with non-overnight services instead!
“Thank goodness for Adam. After our initial pet sitter fell through at the last minute for a holiday weekend Adam was available on a moments notice to watch our dog and two cats and even do a meet and greet beforehand as well. He’s was responsive, reliable and constantly sending updates and pictures. So we knew we left our pets in good hands. We returned to a clean and tidy home and happy and safe pets and we couldn’t be more appreciative. We would definitely book Adam again.”

“Carlos took wonderful care of our 8 year old dog and our new puppy on very short notice, and we couldn’t have been more grateful. From the start, he was incredibly thoughtful, asking detailed follow up questions to really understand each dog’s specific routines, preferences, and needs. It was clear he genuinely cared about providing the best possible care. He stayed in our home during the booking and was very respectful of the space, leaving everything clean and well cared for. What stood out most was his availability and attentiveness, especially with such a young puppy who requires constant supervision and structure. Knowing our dogs were getting so much time, attention, and care in their own home gave us real peace of mind. We would absolutely book with Carlos again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive, and compassionate sitter.”

“Laura was super awesome watching my senior dog and taking care of the apartment while I was gone. She was excellent with care, and send updates and photos daily. She really gave me peace of mind while having to be out of town!”

About: I grew up with mostly dogs, but also ended up with three cats. I’ve pet sat for family and friends. But more recently have helped dog sit while my clients were on vacation. They were senior dogs who needed medication and some extra love and care. I’m currently an afternoon nanny 2pm-6pm on Week days. This will allow me to do early mornings and midday visits or walks. I am open to evening visits as well. My weekends are some what flexible, with enough advance notice I am free to visit or petsit if schedule permits. If I’m going to walk a dog, I make sure that arrive promptly, take them for a walk and provide update. I’ll make sure to be respectful of your space and privacy. Same would apply if I’m doing a drop in for a kitty. Make sure your pets are safe and happy. When I sit for a family I can do drop ins or spend the night. I walk in the morning and feed your pets and then go to work in the afternoon. Come back walk and play and do dinner. I’ll make sure to clean up after my visits and respect your home.
About: Since I was a child, I cared for many animals and pets on my family's farm, and in the last 15 years in LA, I've had my own pets and all my neighbors and friends come to me for pet care while they are out of town! I work as a part-time plant science consultant, I am a mom of a 10-year old human and an 11-year old doggy, I have a flexible schedule and love to be active, so pet care fits in nicely! I have a secure and fenced in back yard and many comfortable spaces for dogs all around the house. Cats are not a good fit in our home, unfortunately.
“Emily was great with our two pups. They’re usually uneasy around new people, but she took the time to earn their trust and made them feel comfortable. She arrived on time for every visit, communicated clearly, and sent thoughtful updates with photos that really put us at ease. As first-time Rover users, we were a little nervous, but Emily made the whole experience feel easy and reassuring. We came home to two happy, relaxed dogs — we look forward to booking with her again!”

“Kim was an amazing house sitter. She was very communicative, took great care of the pets, and left my house squeaky clean. I could tell from the photos she sent that my pups were very comfortable and relaxed with her. 12/10!”

“Katherine was great. She knew how to comfort our little guy when he got anxious as we were leaving, took great care of him, and continually kept us updated.”

“Everything from meet and greet to booking was great with Christian. He kept up with fur baby photos and kept the house spotless for a smooth return from vacation. I will definitely be booking with him again 👌🏽🙂”

“Reya is amazing! She always does a fantastic job watching my cats while im away. Ive had her watch my cats twice and both times my two cats where well cared for and received lots of love and attention.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Van Nuys
Kourosh went above and beyond to make Sasha feel safe, comfortable, and engaged the entire time. He sent frequent updates and asked questions whenever there was uncertainty about what to do. I’m so thankful he was available to watch Sasha and will definitely rebook with him in the future.

Jason was so great! Super great with communication, got along with our dog Tiger right away, and was just so thorough through the entire stay. Our house was perfect when we came back, just couldn’t have asked for more! Great first dog sitting experience with rover :)

Kyle has been walking our girls for about a year now. They love him and he is so great with them. One of our dogs can be reactive with others and he has been so great keeping her calm on walks. This was our first time having Kyle stay over with them while we were out of town. He is great with comunicating and took such great care of all their needs, Our senior needs medication and he was on top of it! Thank you Kyle!!!

To be honest, I was terrified of having a stranger live in our house, so this booking was a big deal for us. We had William stay with our two golden retrievers and cat, as well as care for our outdoor turtle and both indoor and outdoor plants for 10 days. He kept us updated, sending photos of our animals whenever we asked. He took great care of the house and maintained open communication. He always quickly responded to our texts. He is a great housesitter. Most of all, though, he is a true dog lover. I felt confident that my Goldens were being loved and cared for. I will definitely book him again and would 100% recommend to anyone else.
Katie was absolutely great!! She sent updates, asked questions, and took such great care of our two dogs and home! Upon meeting for the first time, both boys instantly took a liking to her which put our minds at ease. Would highly recommend booking with Katie and we will definitely be rebooking in the future :)!

Wow! Carlos was just the best! A total pro who handled my snippy Min-Pin with so much ease and care! Carlos stayed at our house while we were away on a trip and made sure everything was taken care of as if it was his own home. He even watered my plants and an outdoor garden for me AND searched through some papers to help find one I'd accidentally left behind on my desk! A lifesaver for sure and I'm so grateful for the Rover connection to Carlos!

Liz really went above and beyond while caring for our dog and cat. We had to travel last minute and we had complete peace of mind once we knew Liz was available to watch our pets. She relieved all stress from the situation and the pets were beyond happy to be in her company / care for 5 days. They absolutely adore her and we will continue to book her when we travel.

I'm already planning on booking Rachael again. She went above and beyond while caring for my dog, Wilma. Not only did Wilma absolutely love her, but Rachael also brought in my mail, watered my plants, and made sure everything at home was taken care of while I was away. She sent multiple photos and updates every single day, which gave me so much peace of mind. I never had to wonder how Wilma was doing because I always knew she was happy, loved, and in great hands. Being away from your dog can be stressful, but thanks to Rachael, I wasn't worried at all. I can't recommend her highly enough, and I will definitely be booking with her again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Van Nuys walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Van Nuys maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Van Nuys choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Van Nuys. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
