About: I grew up fostering dogs, have experience bottle feeding, and have been passionate about pets for my whole life. I love any dog, no matter what breed, size, or temperament. I’m currently working part-time, so I will have a good amount of flexibility and availability to help you with your pet needs. I will prioritize your pets! I will stick to the rules and boundaries you set in place. Overall, I will be very careful and mindful when working for you. Respect is my biggest priority.
“Jason is caring, diligent, reliable dog and house sitter. His manner with our dogs is gentle but Jason is able to walk both our pully nutty dogs at the same time. The house is in great shape when we get home and he even offers to pull the sheets off our bed and other small tiding tasks. I really, really and highly recommend Jason. I also book him early!!!”

“Audrey was a fantastic house sitter. She sent us so many pictures of Cho when we were on our trip and took care of our place. Would be happy to book her in the future!”

“Jaclyn was great with our boys, and incredibly accommodating. We contacted her last minute for a surprise business trip and had no issues at all with getting everything squared away.”

“We had a great experience with Iuliia. She was prompt, sent updates frequently, and was very friendly. Most importantly our dog LOVED her and was at ease around her immediately. We will definitely hire her again in future!”

“Thank you Lisa for easing my mind during vacation. You took excellent care of my Hazel. She was fed and played with. And the pictures you sent put me at peace! I enjoyed my trip knowing all was fine at home. I will see you next time! A Thousand thank you’s!”

“Kim was an amazing house sitter. She was very communicative, took great care of the pets, and left my house squeaky clean. I could tell from the photos she sent that my pups were very comfortable and relaxed with her. 12/10!”

“Kseniia was great. Our original rover cancelled on us last minute, and we were due to head to the hospital to deliver our baby anytime. Kseniia was communicative asking lots of great questions via rover since there wasn’t time for a proper meet and greet. Throughout her stay, (3 nights/4 days) she sent so many updates and photos, was really communicative about how Zoe was doing, even though we couldn’t respond much. Zoe was well taken care of throughout the stay. Will use Kseniia again!! Thank you!”

“Daniela was amazing and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a house sitter. She promptly responded to all inquiries, showed up on time, cleaned up, sent photos every morning and night, and most importantly of all, took great care of all of our cats. She is now our "go to" for all future cat sittings.”

“Laura was super awesome watching my senior dog and taking care of the apartment while I was gone. She was excellent with care, and send updates and photos daily. She really gave me peace of mind while having to be out of town!”

About: It has been one year and a half since I found and adopted my first ever cat and became a cat mom (cat mom of two now). Becoming a pet parent has truly showed me what it's like to look after and care for your fur baby. I KNOW THEY ARE OUR EVERYTHING and want the best care possible for them when we are gone, so, when you are gone, I will be that person looking after your fur babies. I'll be giving them the necessary care they need. I'll take them out on their walks, play with them, of course feeding, as well as keeping them entertained/active. I do have experience in giving oral medication and eye drops if you ever need me to do so. I'll always treat your fur babies like my own and give them a lot of love while you are away. I am available Monday through Sunday, flexible when it comes to time. I work from home, so, I have no problem being available when needed. Getting to know the person that could possibly be looking after your pet is very important, as it is for me to know about what type of pet I could possibly be looking after. So it would be greatly appreciated if you were able to do meet and greets. If not, I do ask that you be honest and tell me of any behaviors your pet has for my safety, your pets, and those in your neighborhood. If your pet requires special care or needs to be given medication, please notify me!! I know how it can be worrying when leaving your pet to be looked after by new people that is why I like to provide pics and video updates of how and what your pet is doing throughout my time looking after your pet.

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover, and I currently help care for my family’s four dogs- Charlie, Graham, Winnie, and Lola. Over the years, I’ve had the joy of helping care for six family dogs in total, giving me experience with every stage of a dog’s life, from energetic puppies to loving senior dogs. They’ve each taught me something different, and through them I’ve gained years of hands-on experience with feeding, walking, bathing, playtime, and recognizing each dog’s unique personality and needs. I’ve also dog-sat for family and friends, and I understand how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with your pet. I treat every dog as if they were my own and will always follow your pet’s routine to help them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Friends and family know me as someone who is dependable, organized, and responsible. Whether it’s showing up on time, paying attention to the little details, or making sure your pet gets the care and attention they deserve, I’ll always do my best to provide reliable, loving care. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you’re away! I recently graduated from California State University, Long Beach, and I’m currently studying for the CPA exam while working part-time. This gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to caring for your pets. I’m happy to work around your pet’s routine and make sure they receive the exercise, care, and companionship they need while you’re away. I believe pets are happiest when they can stay in the comfort of their own home and maintain their normal routine. I’ll carefully follow your instructions for feeding, walks, medications (if needed), playtime, and any special care your pet requires. My goal is to help your pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’ll also respect your home as if it were my own and keep you updated with photos and messages so you can enjoy peace of mind throughout your trip.
“She was fabulous. Very sweet and took great care of our little puppy. Even right after his neuter surgery. She took photos and videos throughout the night. Very polite.”

About: Three years ago, I adopted my cat, and he quickly became one of the most important members of our family. Caring for him has taught me how important patience, consistency, and lots of love are when it comes to pets. I know how hard it can be to trust someone else with a pet you love, so I’ll make sure yours feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. Whether your pet loves to play, cuddle, or just have someone nearby, I’ll treat them with the same care and attention I give my own. I work for a school district, so my schedule is very flexible during the summer. During the school year, I’m available after work, on weekends, and during all school breaks and holidays. I have a cat, so my home is as cat-proof as possible (although he still manages to find trouble sometimes!). I use pet-friendly cleaning products and always make sure pets have a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. If I’m caring for your pet in your home, I’ll follow your routines and instructions carefully to help them feel comfortable and keep everything consistent.

About: What sets me apart is the love, patience, and attention I give to every pet. I understand that every dog has a unique personality and routine, and I take the time to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I’m reliable, attentive, and treat every pet like family. Whether your dog enjoys playtime, walks, cuddles, or simply a calm companion, I adapt to their needs and make sure they receive plenty of care and affection. I work Monday through Friday and am available after 5:00 PM on weekdays. On weekends, I am available all day and evening to provide loving and reliable pet care. I provide pets with plenty of attention, care, and companionship while following their regular routine. In both my home and a client’s home, I make sure pets are fed on schedule, have fresh water, get exercise and playtime, and feel safe, comfortable, and loved.

Erika was wonderful! My dog is older and is not always keen to walk in the heat, so Erika took her to a shady park so my dog could roll around in the grass and in the shade and have lots of fun! My dog was happy and healthy when I returned! Thank you, Erika for a great job!!!

We can’t recommend Melanie highly enough. Her communication was excellent throughout, and she kept us in the loop with regular photos and updates. It gave us real peace of mind knowing our dogs were in good hands, and we appreciated that she never left our pup alone for long stretches. We came home to happy, well cared for pup and will absolutely be booking with her again.

Daniela was amazing and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a house sitter. She promptly responded to all inquiries, showed up on time, cleaned up, sent photos every morning and night, and most importantly of all, took great care of all of our cats. She is now our "go to" for all future cat sittings.

To be honest, I was terrified of having a stranger live in our house, so this booking was a big deal for us. We had William stay with our two golden retrievers and cat, as well as care for our outdoor turtle and both indoor and outdoor plants for 10 days. He kept us updated, sending photos of our animals whenever we asked. He took great care of the house and maintained open communication. He always quickly responded to our texts. He is a great housesitter. Most of all, though, he is a true dog lover. I felt confident that my Goldens were being loved and cared for. I will definitely book him again and would 100% recommend to anyone else.
Lisa cares for our dogs like her own. She sent us photos and videos of our babies, she followed all instructions faithfully, she texted us with any questions, we returned home to a clean house with guestroom bed sheets already laundered, and most importantly two happy and healthy dogs. Lisa is a treasure! We’ve utilized her services now for a few years, and we would never think to use anyone else.
I'm already planning on booking Rachael again. She went above and beyond while caring for my dog, Wilma. Not only did Wilma absolutely love her, but Rachael also brought in my mail, watered my plants, and made sure everything at home was taken care of while I was away. She sent multiple photos and updates every single day, which gave me so much peace of mind. I never had to wonder how Wilma was doing because I always knew she was happy, loved, and in great hands. Being away from your dog can be stressful, but thanks to Rachael, I wasn't worried at all. I can't recommend her highly enough, and I will definitely be booking with her again!

Kourosh is ery responsive and easy to work with. It was great having someone who is willing to stay overnight with my disabled, senior dog at a reasonable rate. It gets very expensive given I cannot board her so I really appreciate the peace of mind of having somebody in my home I can trust and who has patience with older dogs.

Kseniia was great. Thank you!

Kim was awesome!!! When things fell through with another sitter we had to scramble to find a replacement last minute, and we feel so lucky to have found Kim!! She was able to help us out on short notice, was super communicative sending lots of updates and pictures, and left the house looking better than it did when we left! She was also incredibly patient with our shy puppy, and did an excellent job taking care of our whole pack.

Sarah did a great job! Our dogs are kind of a particular and fussy situation and it was handled wonderfully. We were on a cruise for two weeks and had very limited cell access; nonetheless, we felt comfortable leaving our home and our kiddos in Sarah’s hands. Flexible with being in our space with us there if needed, like before we left on the first day. Would definitely rebook and recommend!

Tanya was awesome! She checked in twice a day with photos, summarizing my dog's day and also any household items I had asked her to handle. She took great care of Thunder for 3 1/2 weeks which is a lot of handle! I felt very comfortable leaving him with her. When I got home, the house was very clean and organized, and she even left me a little welcome home note and surprise. ALL the stars!

Farrah was really great! She stayed at our house for a week with our dog and did an amazing job. She sent lots of updates and was always very reachable whenever we checked in, which gave us so much peace of mind. She was also kind enough to come by a few days before we left to do a walk-through of the house and meet our dog, which we really appreciated. We came home to a happy dog and a house left in great condition. We truly appreciated having someone so trustworthy and reliable caring for both our home and our dog. We would absolutely recommend Farrah and would love to work with her again.

Joycelyn is awesome! She took wonderful care of our pup Shiloh. She’s exceptionally warm, accommodating and kind, and that made all the difference with our baby. We have a lot of unique instructions to take care of our dog because he does have some behavior issues and she handled it perfectly. 10 out of 10, 100% recommend and we will absolutely be hiring her again!

FAQs for House Sitting - North Hills
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in North Hills on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 12,166 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across North Hills. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred North Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in North Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in North Hills. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
