About: I’ve been a caretaker in one form or another since I was very young. I started as the neighborhood baby/pet/house sitter, and later became a professional nanny—where caring for children also meant caring for the family pets and homes. Although I stepped away from nannying, I still love caring for animals. I travel for work about a week out of every month, which makes having a pet of my own difficult right now, so pet sitting has been the perfect way to stay connected to animals while helping other pet parents feel at ease. I’ve been dog and house sitting for friends and referrals, and I treat every pet like they’re my own—with patience, affection, attention, and reliable care. Whether your pup loves long walks, your cat loves playtime, cuddles, or just a calm and consistent companion, I’m happy to provide dependable, loving care in the comfort of their own home. I have a pretty flexible work week and I’m off on weekends. I wake up on the earlier side so I will have plenty of time to do the morning pet duties. I’m a homebody so my evenings are spent reading, catching up on work, watching tv- so that also leaves plenty of time in the evening for whatever your pet’s needs are! I do love to walk outside so hopefully your pet does too! I follow the house rules and routine to help the pets remain calm while their families are gone. I also believe consistency is key in building trust with them too. Safety first! My mother is a trauma nurse so I am always looking out for any potential danger and I’m a very cautious person.

About: I have been the go-to pet sitter for my friends, families, and neighbors growing up. I worked at a doggy daycare during the summers and home baked dog treats in my spare time. Now I find my days working from home incomplete without a furry friend! I am great with any breed, size, and energy. Excited to give you peace of mind and your pet all the care and attention they need! I currently work from home. My meetings usually happen in the mid morning / afternoon between 10 and 2pm but I have a very flexible schedule. I am very attentive to the needs of the animals I care for. Most of the pets I have taken care of have some degree of separation anxiety so I have gotten accustomed to finding ways to soothe their anxiety weather it’s putting a show on for them, pets and cuddles, or lots of playtime! If your furry friend is shy or timid, no worries! I will let them come to me and treat them with respect and patience.

About: I have had multiple pets from a very young age, and learning how to care for pets was a big part of my life. I specialize in high-energy breeds, but enjoy spending time with any type of animal. I work a remote job, so the entirety of my day can be focused on animals! I’m very big on consistency and reliability, so bathroom breaks and ample walking time are never things that bother me. I’d like to think the pets I’ve boarded have had a luxury experience. I am super thorough and attentive, and love spending time with pets of all shapes and sizes.

We got lots of pictures and updates and could see the progress she was making in teaching the puppy to heel on walks. She went above and beyond to keep things organized and clean, which is not easy in our chaotic household. She even got our most timid cat to come out of hiding for treats. We’ll be booking Daniela for our next trip if at all possible.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Truly Exceptional – Highly Recommend Chan! This was my very first time using Rover, and I was honestly a bit nervous. My dog, Slippery, is 5 years old and has a pretty strong personality—so finding someone I could trust was really important to me. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but thanks to Chan, the whole experience went beyond anything I had hoped for. From the very beginning, Chan was warm, professional, and incredibly responsive. He asked all the right questions, made sure to understand Slippery’s habits and needs, and took extra care to make both of us feel comfortable. Slippery can be a little particular, but Chan handled everything with ease and confidence—it was clear right away that he genuinely loves and understands dogs. Throughout the stay, Chan sent regular updates, photos, and messages that reassured me Slippery was happy, safe, and having a great time. When I picked him up, he was calm, content, and clearly bonded with Chan. It felt like Slippery had just come back from his own little vacation. I can’t emphasize this enough—Chan is an amazing sitter. He went above and beyond in every way. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, kind, and truly attentive to your dog’s needs, I wholeheartedly recommend him. I’ll absolutely be booking with Chan again in the future. Thank you so much for taking such good care of Slippery!

I am so happy I found Ashton and Jay. The dogs were well taken care of. Lots of attention and they stayed in all of their normal routines. Even though we missed them terribly Aston kept us updated with texts, pictures and videos. We will call on them to sit with our fur babies again. Thank you!!!

About: As a lifelong dog owner and devoted animal lover, I understand that your pets are cherished members of your family. My approach to pet care is centered on providing a calm, nurturing, and personalized experience that helps your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Having cared for dogs throughout my life, I am attentive to each pet’s unique personality, routines, and preferences. Whether your companion enjoys long walks, playtime, quiet companionship, or extra affection, I tailor my care to meet their individual needs and help maintain the consistency they are accustomed to at home. I take pride in creating a stress-free experience for both pets and their owners through reliable communication, thoughtful attention to detail, and genuine compassion. My goal is to provide the highest level of care so you can enjoy complete peace of mind knowing your beloved companion is in caring and capable hands. I look forward to building a trusted relationship with you and providing your pet with the same level of love, respect, and attention I give my own. Pet care is already a natural part of my daily life. I work from home, which allows me to be present and attentive throughout the day. My own dog and I enjoy at least four walks around the neighborhood every day, providing plenty of exercise, fresh air, and enrichment. In addition to our daily walks, we go hiking several times a week, and I have a secure fenced courtyard where pets can safely relax, explore, and enjoy time outdoors in the sunshine. Because I am home-based, I can easily accommodate feeding schedules, potty breaks, playtime, companionship, and any special routines your pet may have. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and strive to create a calm, loving environment where they feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for while you’re away. I care for every pet as if they were my own, with a focus on safety, comfort, routine, and plenty of affection. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality, preferences, and daily schedule so they can feel as relaxed and secure as possible while their family is away. In my home, pets receive regular walks, supervised outdoor time in my fenced courtyard, playtime, companionship, and lots of love and attention throughout the day. Because I work from home, I am able to provide a calm presence and ensure pets are not left alone for extended periods. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I strive to maintain their normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, exercise, medication (if needed), and any special instructions. I also keep owners updated with messages and photos so they can have peace of mind knowing their pet is happy, safe, and well cared for. My goal is always to create a positive, stress-free experience where pets feel loved, comfortable, and cared for, whether they are staying with me or I am caring for them in their own home.

Carlos took wonderful care of our 8 year old dog and our new puppy on very short notice, and we couldn’t have been more grateful. From the start, he was incredibly thoughtful, asking detailed follow up questions to really understand each dog’s specific routines, preferences, and needs. It was clear he genuinely cared about providing the best possible care. He stayed in our home during the booking and was very respectful of the space, leaving everything clean and well cared for. What stood out most was his availability and attentiveness, especially with such a young puppy who requires constant supervision and structure. Knowing our dogs were getting so much time, attention, and care in their own home gave us real peace of mind. We would absolutely book with Carlos again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive, and compassionate sitter.

Audry was amazing when she babysat our dog Lucy. She took great care of her and her discipline on sticking with our pup’s schedule was well appreciated. FAQs for House Sitting - Encino

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Encino on Rover is $60.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 12,378 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Encino. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Encino walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Encino maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Encino choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Encino. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
