I grew up with dogs from infancy, and my first dog was a German Shepherd named Pooch who joined our family when I was still a baby. We grew up together, and he remained my best friend until we were both 14, when he crossed the rainbow bridge. Dogs have been a huge part of my life ever since. At 12 years old, I started my own dog walking business and volunteered with local rescues before eventually founding my own nonprofit, Akira Animal Rescue, which focuses on medical dogs and puppies. Growing up, I also cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments — including a rescued street dog, a Pomeranian mix, and a Lhasa Apso. Having both large and small dogs throughout my life helped me understand different energy levels, personalities, and care needs from an early age. I also have extensive medical experience with dogs through both rescue work and personal experience. My senior dog Akira developed liver disease and seizures later in life, and I helped manage his care and medications until he peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge in 2024. Akira inspired my rescue work and deepened my understanding of anxious, reactive, and medically sensitive dogs. When I met him at 7 years old, he struggled with resource guarding and trust issues, but over time he transformed into a calm, loving dog who slept at our feet every night. In December 2023, we adopted two Siberian Husky littermates who are incredibly social, gentle, and loving with other dogs — especially smaller dogs. I also currently have two sweet foster dogs from my rescue who have been in my care long term. They are the only dogs from my rescue in my home — all others are with other fosters. I now provide full-time premium daycare and boarding from my home in Beverly Hills Post Office on a private, gated one-acre property. I previously operated exclusively through referrals and word-of-mouth and am now offering services through Rover. I’m extremely hands-on, attentive, and always present with the dogs in my care. They welcomed Dante, who is not used to being away from the family, into their home and treated him as if he was their own. They even allowed Dante to sleep in their bedroom and relax on their living room couch. Annabelle and Ben have a large fenced-in yard where Dante was free to hang out and play with their very sweet pup Ranger. “I highly recommend Maxim for dog boarding. They were extremely flexible and accommodating of my schedule and needs. While I don’t recommend ever trying to book a sitter same day, I was out of town when my partner had a few work emergencies, and we needed to find quick and reliable care for our 14 year old dachshund, Charlie. Furthermore, Charlie had a bout of anxious vomiting all of a sudden, so I was very hesitant to leave him with anyone new, when our regular sitter was unavailable. That said, Maxim completely put my mind at ease and nursed Charlie back to health, providing optimal care and regular updates with pictures and videos. They were conscientious and communicative with needing to leave the house and checking in with me to make sure the dynamic was okay with Charlie’s needs. Charlie went from scared, tired, and trembling when my partner dropped him off, to happy, alert, and back to a normal appetite by the time he was picked up! I was particularly apprehensive that leaving Charlie with a stranger would make his anxiety worse, but it was the opposite due to Maxim’s careful and kind care. I was very nervous to leave our puppy, Reno, in anyone else's care besides family. But I was referred to Dana from a neighbor, and I'm glad we did. We finally found someone near our home to care for Reno! I was surprised to see that Reno was not nervous but seemed excited to enter her home. This gave me such peace of mind during my trip. Dana sent updates and photos at least once a day. I saw that Reno was making friends and having a good time. I was surprised to hear that he rarely barked or had any issues. My two girls stayed with Laura and her family recently. They were vey well taken care. Laura provided good supervision, plenty of exercise and a lot of TLC. She treated them like family and sent updates with photos and videos. Booked Daniela a couple of weeks ago and just booked with her again this past weekend. She had great communication and provided lots of pictures and updates, which made me feel much more comfortable throughout the stay. I had never left my pets with someone I didn’t personally know before, so I was definitely nervous at first, but everything turned out great. She is very loving and caring with pets, which I really appreciated. I would definitely book with her again. The only downside for me was not being able to physically see where my pet would be staying, sleeping, and spending time beforehand, since everything is handled through pictures and text messages. That may just be a personal preference because I tend to worry and have a hard time trusting others with my pup. Overall, it was a really good experience, and I hope she’s available for all future visits.
Ryan and Abby took such good care of bleu for the two weeks I was on holiday. They were very responsive, sent lots of photos daily, and answered any questions that I had. they were also very knowledgeable and sensitive to dogs who might not get along with others, which I appreciated with my senior who can be temperamental. Will definitely book with Ryan and Abby the next time I’m on vacation!

Anebelle and Ben were amazing. They accommodated tedious different diet needs of our two dogs. They treated our dogs like their own; cuddling with them in bed, taking them on long walks, and keeping them entertained through out. Annabelle and Ben’s kids also made our dogs feel at home and showered them with affection.
