Victoria took a last minute booking and was able to allow for a late evening pickup too, which I really appreciated. She kept me updated throughout the day and even sent a picture of him sprawled out and living the life on their couch. I’m sure my dog would love hanging out again in the future!

About: Since I was a child, I cared for many animals and pets on my family's farm, and in the last 15 years in LA, I've had my own pets and all my neighbors and friends come to me for pet care while they are out of town! I work as a part-time plant science consultant, I am a mom of a 10-year old human and an 11-year old doggy, I have a flexible schedule and love to be active, so pet care fits in nicely! I have a secure and fenced in back yard and many comfortable spaces for dogs all around the house. Cats are not a good fit in our home, unfortunately.

Renata did an amazing job taking care of my 16 year old pug, Jasper. I do Rover myself, and have high expectations about pet care. She went above and beyond to learn how to express Jasper’s bladder since he can no longer pee on his own. She sent me lots of pictures, and when I picked him up, I could tell he had a great day by the smile on his face. I will be using her boarding services next for an upcoming week long trip because I know my senior baby is in good hands.

Also, she was very accommodating with my late pick up time. I’ll definitely use her services again. Super thanks 😊

About: Hi I’m a full time pet sitter. I have been petsitting for the past 8years. I have a lot of time to take the doggies out for walks multiple times a day. I also interact with them, by playing or doing basic commands with them. They are always allowed hop on the couch and join me to cuddle while watching a movie. It’s a cage free environment, unless you are training your baby or prefer for your pup to be in a cage certain times. They will feel right at home, in a comfort place where they are allowed to roam around freely and cuddle up on the couch or the human bed at night. We also reward them with extra belly rubs and delicious treats! I am a full time pet sitter. During the day I do have multiple walks I go out to. My partner Maggie is also home full time to care for the pups while I’m away. Dogs in my home have to be friendly with humans and other dogs. I am only taking small- medium size dogs. Unless I’ve cared for a more relax friendly bigger dog that I know won’t need much space.

I haven't reviewed since Piper's first stay so wanted to give more info. Piper gets SO excited to see Jennifer! Jennifer and her family take such good care of her and she is so comfortable with them. Jennifer is flexible with scheduling and has helped us out at the last minute without any issue. We get cute pictures and updates and Piper is always exhausted when she gets home. (which is GREAT!)

My dog can be very stubborn and is quick to decide whether or not he likes you, but surprisingly Mason was a very happy dog with Jamie, he was well behaved and it seems like they had a blast! I highly recommend if your dog has trust issues, or is a nervous one to book with Jamie. I would definitely book again!

Very pleased with Karn's doggy daycare service. My dog seemed to be in good spirits when I picked him up, and he passed out at home immediately, which makes me think he had a good time. Karn shared video of my dog in their large backyard with plenty of room to wander and socialize with the other dogs. I would definitely be happy to use Karn again to babysit my dog.

My little dog Rosie Roo has such a great experience with Aston and Jay! After a previous boarding my nervous little dog was so excited to see Jay she ran right into the house! She didn’t even look back to worry about me at all. I feel so incredibly grateful for her to have a place to go where she is safe and comfortable and can be cared for in the way she needs. Lots of snuggles, mini walks and laps to jump into. Aston and Jay seem to really enjoy her- and I am so proud to see her fearlessly run to enjoy her daycare day with them. I want Rosie to be here every time I need to leave her. Ashton and Jay are my absolute first choice!

We needed day care for a couple of days during a trip from the Bay Area to Southern California, and I’m so happy I found Amorn and Adam to look after our senior toy poodle, Jubilee. During her stay, they sent lots of photos on her progress and interactions with other dogs, helping to give me peace of mind that all was fine. They demonstrated such kindness and understanding towards our little one, who shakes nervously in unfamiliar environments. They adapted to her shy-ish ways, let her be and gave her a comfy blanket on which to sit or lie. As quickly as the second day when handing her to Adam, Jubilee didn’t even shake, she was actually quite calm, and that was amazing. I am 110% pleased with their services. Thank you so much Amorn and Adam!

My two pups, a 15-year-old Australian Shepherd and a 3-year-old husky mix, must have had a blast with Peter and his gentle giant pup. Peter sent tons of fun photos and videos, and I really appreciated how communicative he was. My pups were super happy when they were picked up but also wanted to go back and keep playing. Good vibes all around, and I know my pups have many more happy play days ahead with Peter.

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Van Nuys

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Van Nuys on Rover is $37.68 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 7,172 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Van Nuys. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Van Nuys commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 7,172 sitters in Van Nuys, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
