“I can’t speak highly enough about Chan and the care he had for our pup, Otis. Chan was extremely communicative prior to our first meeting and made us & Otis feel very comfortable. During Otis’ stay, Chan was great about sending us photos and updates and you could tell Otis was having a blast. It was great to see him getting along with Chan’s dog as well & he was wiped by the time I picked him up, which is exactly what we wanted! 10/10 would recommend Chan watching your pup.”

About: **NOTE: Our prices are insane because even though we’ve been puppy sitting for a long time, we just started Rovering and want to make it a no-brainer for you to book with us so we can get off the ground on this site. Get in while the getting’s good!!** I've always had and trained dogs, from Shelties to Akitas, Poms to Huskies—and absolutely love having them around. Our house is known in Sherman Oaks as the “Pawsitive Pack.” My two kiddos are amazing with pups, though I am the sole adult provider responsible for all pet care duties. We have one of our own, a Bull Terrier named Piggie, who gets along with EVERYONE. Looking forward to welcoming your furry family member into our home for a visit! I am able to be very present for any pup we host, as I work from home and am around during the days. Your pupper will get lots of cuddles, exercise, and attention. The kids love assisting with pet care when they're not at school. :) Let’s schedule a meet-and-greet! We have a fenced yard and safe Piggie-tested home. (She gets into everything haha, so we've made plenty of accommodations!) Your pup will be very happy hanging out here.
About: I will always make sure your pet is the number one in my space, or their own. Love is a universal language that I empathize with all of my clients and their companions! I have no life so feel free to give me one! I miss my family pets back in Michigan and hope that it reflects in the work I perform. I will always maintain clear communication on what your pet needs, when they need it, and keep yours and my space both tidy, clean, and safe of anything that may cause your furry little family any type of distress!

About: Lifelong pet owner, currently raising two cats. I did in home visits for my neighbors dogs for many years, and am looking for more pet sitting/boarding opportunities! I’m currently unemployed so caring for pets would be my full time gig. I do leave the house twice a day to commute my partner to and from work. I have a gate that separates my apartment in half; it’s in the middle hallway that connects the bedrooms to the main living area. Should the pets need a separate space, I can provide that for them! We also have lots of cat toys/activities and treats we can provide to them.
“Emma was amazing. Was able to accomodate a last minute request for a dental appointment. I highly reccomend Enma. For any Puppy and pet accomidations”

“They took great care of our dog, kept us updated with photos and videos it really gave us peace of mind seeing how happy our dog was, we would absolutely book with them again and highly recommend them to anyone”

“My dog is very nervous and anxious around new people/environments and they were very confident and knew how to handle it when they met him which relaxed my dog and ultimately meh was able to stay and be very comfortable! Very happy with my pup’s stay!”

About: As a lifelong dog owner and devoted animal lover, I understand that your pets are cherished members of your family. My approach to pet care is centered on providing a calm, nurturing, and personalized experience that helps your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Having cared for dogs throughout my life, I am attentive to each pet’s unique personality, routines, and preferences. Whether your companion enjoys long walks, playtime, quiet companionship, or extra affection, I tailor my care to meet their individual needs and help maintain the consistency they are accustomed to at home. I take pride in creating a stress-free experience for both pets and their owners through reliable communication, thoughtful attention to detail, and genuine compassion. My goal is to provide the highest level of care so you can enjoy complete peace of mind knowing your beloved companion is in caring and capable hands. I look forward to building a trusted relationship with you and providing your pet with the same level of love, respect, and attention I give my own. Pet care is already a natural part of my daily life. I work from home, which allows me to be present and attentive throughout the day. My own dog and I enjoy at least four walks around the neighborhood every day, providing plenty of exercise, fresh air, and enrichment. In addition to our daily walks, we go hiking several times a week, and I have a secure fenced courtyard where pets can safely relax, explore, and enjoy time outdoors in the sunshine. Because I am home-based, I can easily accommodate feeding schedules, potty breaks, playtime, companionship, and any special routines your pet may have. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and strive to create a calm, loving environment where they feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for while you’re away. I care for every pet as if they were my own, with a focus on safety, comfort, routine, and plenty of affection. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality, preferences, and daily schedule so they can feel as relaxed and secure as possible while their family is away. In my home, pets receive regular walks, supervised outdoor time in my fenced courtyard, playtime, companionship, and lots of love and attention throughout the day. Because I work from home, I am able to provide a calm presence and ensure pets are not left alone for extended periods. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I strive to maintain their normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, exercise, medication (if needed), and any special instructions. I also keep owners updated with messages and photos so they can have peace of mind knowing their pet is happy, safe, and well cared for. My goal is always to create a positive, stress-free experience where pets feel loved, comfortable, and cared for, whether they are staying with me or I am caring for them in their own home.

About: I’ve grown up around dogs most of my life with my family. I have experience with fostering puppies too. Currently I have one fur baby. I work from home full time so I’m flexible with your schedule. I like to go on walks about three times a day and walks usually take 20-30 minutes. I will be around to play and attend your dogs needs. I also have lots of dog beds that I have collected over the years to make dogs feel comfortable.
“Michelle & her family are so sweet & kind!! YoYo always has a great time running wild & free (lol). Super thanks for always taking wonderful care of my little one. 💜”

“Houry was very sweet with our dog and treated him like her own. She was on time and available in the early morning when we dropped our dog off at her house. I also really appreciated the videos and photos that she sent us. She also kept me posted about how much my dog ate, his walks, etc. Easy to contact via the Rover app/text. Again, I really appreciated the photos since I worry about my fur baby when he's not with me! Thanks Houry for watching my precious fur baby.”

“Cassie is a great sitter and wonderful person! She is so friendly, knowledgeable and amazing to work with. Definitely recommend. First time, and we’ll be back for sure!! Our 60lb Golden Retriever had a blast at her place!”

“I had to find a new sitter for my two small dogs recently and was nervous about them adjusting to someone new. Katharine put my mind and ease and made sure my pups were comfortable. They both looked so happy in the pictures she sent me! I will be booking with Katharine again soon.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Sherman Oaks
I’ve known Pina for 5 years now. She’s the only Rover sitter I trust. Pina has a beautiful backyard where my dog Roz loves to explore and play with other dogs. I’m always given daily updates with photos. My senior dog, Sid, who passed away a few years ago always loved his time sun bathing in Pina’s backyard. I can’t recommend Pina enough.

Victoria was great! She kindly checked with me ahead of time if it was okay to book another dog that day which was very considerate. She sent lots of cute photos and kept us updated on our dog Rufus throughout the stay at her house. We’ll definitely be booking with her again!

My two pups, a 15-year-old Australian Shepherd and a 3-year-old husky mix, must have had a blast with Peter and his gentle giant pup. Peter sent tons of fun photos and videos, and I really appreciated how communicative he was. My pups were super happy when they were picked up but also wanted to go back and keep playing. Good vibes all around, and I know my pups have many more happy play days ahead with Peter.

Stephen and David were absolute angels to our boy! We got so many pictures and videos and just could tell how comfortable Finn was! He was parkouring all over their place & not once did I feel a sense of judgement or annoyance from his crazy playing 😂 they loved on him and told us how sweet he was (which we always love!!) and are just so grateful for them! Will ABSOLUTELY be booking with them again if they’ll have him :) thank you guys so so much!!!

My skittish dog with separation anxiety had a great day at Jacqueline's place! Jacqueline knew exactly how to make her comfortable and she did not leave her alone. Drop off and pickup times were flexible, which allowed me to spend a full day at Universal. Overall, everything was perfect!!
Santho is very responsive, sent us multiple photos throughout the day of what Rocky was up to, and has the type of calm energy that dogs love. I thought he wasn’t going to want to come back home with me after spending the day with her! He was very happy and relaxed when I picked him up.

Victoria was absolutely amazing and took such wonderful care of Lupo. I had complete peace of mind knowing he was with her. He was genuinely happy to see her when she arrived in the morning, which says everything. She is without a doubt my first choice whenever I need help with my little one .

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
