“My pup had a lovely time with Nancy and her pack of 3 small dogs! We did a thorough Meet & Greet, introducing the dogs on a brief walk, seeing her home, and going through my dog’s routine and preferences. On the first day of dog sitting, Nancy sent me regular updates of everyone going on plenty of walks and getting along. I appreciated Nancy’s dedication as a dog lover and the thoughtful questions she asked to make my pup comfortable in her home 💜”

“I traveled to Burbank for a work event and needed a sitter for Missy on very short notice—less than 24 hours. Jose responded immediately and communicated so clearly throughout the process. On the day of the appointment, I ended up running an hour late, but he was incredibly accommodating and flexible with the schedule. He kept me updated by sending photos of Missy, which gave me peace of mind. When I’m back in LA, I’ll absolutely have Jose watch Missy again—I could tell she enjoyed her time with him too! Thank you so much, Daisy and Jose!”

“Barbara was so helpful and reliable when I sent a last minute request for care for my girl. She took such great care of her and I can’t wait to book with her again!! 💛 thank you Barbara!”

“Frida had another great visit. It looks like she had a great time meeting some new doggy friends and seeing some others again. As always, great communication and pics! Thanks so much”

“Areli is simply the best! Nami loves getting to spend time with her. She is also super understanding and flexible with scheduling. My partner and I got stuck in some pretty bad traffic causing us to be late for her pickup but Areli was super understanding. 100% recommend”

“Wendy has watched my dog prior to her Rover profile many times and is the absolute best! She keeps an eye on my pup and follows the care instructions i have for him, since he has a good amount of medical issues. Her dogs are a great perk to the stay as they are so friendly! Looking forward to booking again :)”

“This was our dog's first time away from us, and we couldn't have found a better home & dog sitter for her! We are so happy we met Jodie. She is caring, punctual, professional, responsible and accommodating. Her home is super dog-friendly, comfortable and has a big beautiful backyard that the dogs can freely run and play. Jodie updated us regularly with pictures and text messages so I could see our dog was enjoying her "vacation"! Her three dogs are all so sweet. The moment we arrived, they greeted our dog, showed her around the house and took her to the yard. When we picked her up, we found her laying on the bed with her new friend. She looked very relaxed and content. Initially we were a bit worried that our 1-year-old puppy may have too much energy for Jodie's dogs, but that was nothing to worry about! Spending time with Jodie's dogs was another reason our dog had such an amazing day. We will definitely come back, and will highly recommend Jodie to anybody!!”

About: Dogs have been part of my life since I was an infant. My first dog, Pooch, was a German Shepherd who joined our family when I was a baby. We grew up together and were best friends until we were both 14, when he crossed the rainbow bridge. Dogs have been my constant companions ever since. By 12, I had started my own neighborhood dog-walking business and was volunteering with local animal rescues. Years later, that passion led me to found Akira Animal Rescue, my foster-based nonprofit specializing in medical dogs and puppies. My experience spans dogs of virtually every size and stage of life — from tiny companion breeds and young puppies to German Shepherds, Siberian Huskies, seniors, and dogs with medical or behavioral needs. Growing up, I also cared for a rescued street dog, a Pomeranian mix, and a Lhasa Apso. Today, I have four dogs of my own, so understanding different personalities, energy levels, boundaries, and needs is simply part of my everyday life. One of my greatest teachers was my senior dog, Akira. When I came into his life at 7, he had experienced a difficult start in life and struggled with trust and resource guarding. With patience, consistency, and structure, he became an incredibly secure and loving dog. Later in life, he developed liver disease and seizures, and I helped manage his medications and medical care until he crossed the rainbow bridge in 2024. He ultimately inspired me to start Akira Animal Rescue. A different kind of Rover stay 🐾 I provide full-time premium daycare and boarding from a private, gated, multi-level compound in the Hollywood Hills. The property gives me something I consider incredibly important in dog care: space, flexibility, and the ability to individualize each dog’s stay. Although I have four dogs of my own, they do not need to reside at the boarding property and can stay at our other home nearby. This means your dog is never expected to simply fit into an established pack. I can make decisions about socialization and playmates based on your dog’s personality, size, energy level, and comfort. I don’t believe every dog needs the same experience. Social dogs may enjoy carefully supervised play with compatible friends, while shy, senior, small, or more independent dogs can have their own space and individual attention. The property allows me to create smaller playgroups and use separate indoor and outdoor areas rather than putting every dog together. New arrivals are also given time to settle in and decompress. Introductions are gradual and based on body language and comfort rather than immediately placing a new dog into a group. I am extremely hands-on and attentive with the dogs in my care. I supervise interactions, learn each dog’s individual personality, reinforce good manners, and tailor walks, play, enrichment, affection, and downtime to the dog in front of me. Don’t be surprised if your dog picks up a new command or trick while they’re here! What your dog can expect: • An AirTag fitted upon arrival and worn throughout their stay • A thoughtful decompression and introduction period • Supervised play and a structured daily routine • Spacious, dog-friendly indoor and outdoor areas • Separate play yards and smaller, compatible playgroups • Walks and enrichment tailored to their energy level and personality • Plenty of individual attention, affection, and downtime • Care from someone experienced with puppies, seniors, medications, medical needs, and a wide range of temperaments My goal is to offer something different from a traditional boarding facility. I want dogs to have the comfort and individual attention of staying in a home, with the space and flexibility to create an experience around their needs. Every booking also helps support the work of Akira Animal Rescue. ❤️ I am fully dedicated to caring for dogs. Pet Care is my job, so you will have a hands on, attentive caregiver for your fur child. Outside of Pet Care, I am a professional marathon runner and do my runs early in the morning or on my treadmill at home. I am a complete homebody and choose to stay home with dogs, or take them out for a hike. Every dog in my care is equipped with an AirTag for enhanced safety and real-time location protection while on property or during outings. I provide a calm, structured environment on a private, gated property with secure outdoor space, including separate, gated, play yards, and comfortable indoor areas for rest and relaxation. Dogs are supervised at all times and thoughtfully grouped based on size, temperament, and energy level. I also offer private or solo care for dogs who prefer a quieter setting.
About: I’ve spent years as a rescue foster and rescue mom, plus years of hands-on dog training experience, which means I’ve cared for dogs from every background, including the anxious ones, the shy ones, the seniors, and dogs with special needs. I don’t discriminate and I treat every dog with the equal and individual TLC, whether they’re a confident goofball or need time to warm up. Reading dog body language and meeting each one where they’re at is second nature to me. My training background means I know how to handle leash pulling, nervous energy, and dogs who need a little structure. I’m comfortable keeping up whatever routine or commands you already use, so your pup stays consistent while you’re away. On top of that, I have hands-on experience with grooming and bathing, so your dog is in good hands if they need a freshen-up during their stay. I’m comfortable with all breeds, sizes, and energy levels, and I take safety seriously. That means careful introductions, watching for the little signs, and never cutting corners when it comes to your dog’s wellbeing. Whether you need daily walks or a place for your pup to stay, I’ve got you. Walks are never rushed, I keep a close eye on the leash and surroundings, and I make sure your dog comes home happy and tired. For overnight or daytime stays, my home is a real home environment, not a kennel- With my two gentle and friendly resident dogs for company, walks, play, and snuggles on the couch. So excited to welcome your fur baby into a pups oasis. Your pup deserves a vacation too ! My home is a calm, dog-friendly and enriching space with a beautiful shaded yard and pup pool, comfy furniture they’re fully welcome on, and snuggling is a plus. Free bath offered as well ❤️ Drop me a message and tell me about your pup. I’d love to meet them and make them feel right at home. I wouldn’t have a daily routine if it didn’t include pet care. Animals are my life and purpose truly. Your dog’s well being and happiness is my top priority. I have a big fenced yard with a pup pool and two incredibly sweet and gentle 3.5 year old rescue boys who love to share and play! Your dog will be welcome with open arms and paws ❤️ plenty of rooms / space in the house if they need some down time, separation, or their own space to eat etc. They are allowed on all furniture and in bed of course! If your dog is a little weary or shy towards others at first, my boys know that and will give them space and gentle affirmation that this is their home too and they’re ready when they are. + a bath, on me ❤️
“Amazing care for our two pups!! Elena was super responsive and understanding, even for our last-minute request. We needed doggy day care while we visited Universal Studios, as our hotel didn’t allow dogs to be left unattended in the room. We road-tripped down from Seattle (with our 2 dogs & 2 kiddos) and camped along the way, which left us a little frazzled and haggard... Elena was very empathetic and caring, despite my lack of proper research, planning, and punctuality.. lol Probably should’ve looked into things a bit more in-depth about the hotel pet policy beforehand, but I am incredibly grateful that Elena was able to take the pups while we visited the parks for a couple days. She was very tolerant, observant, and nurturing with our two pets, and I think they had a great time… even though they aren’t the best-trained dogs. We have a 4-year-old sassy chihuahua-heeler mix, and a 1.25-year-old Malinois-cattle dog mix. They are sweet girls, but have a strange dynamic. Elena took them in stride and handled them with care, as if they were her own. 10/10!! Couldn’t have asked for a better pet-sitter in our time of need. Thank you so much, Elena!!”

“Tyler was so great!! I am so glad I found him on here, he was very attentive to all of my pup’s needs and so communicative which put me at ease. He went above and beyond to give her lots of love and great care while she was with him and I am so appreciative. 10/10 experience! ☺️”

“Thank you Claudia!!! We had another Rover sitter cancel our booking last minute and that put us in a stressful situation. Thankfully Claudia (and her husband Andrew) were available and only five minutes from Universal Studios Hollywood. You saved the day, and we had no worries leaving our Mini Schnauzer Stix with you. Would absolutely have you watch him again. . . . thanks again.”

About: Trusting someone with your family member is an important decision. My #1 priority is to make sure you and your pet are relaxed and at ease. I am a great communicator and have excellent relationships with my clients, so that I can always stay on top of your pets needs. I am also experienced with puppies, (especially Corgis and Goldens) as well as elderly pets. I would love the opportunity to meet you and your pet to see if I am a good fit. I have full availability - mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends. I have some regular clients but I am also good in a pinch and can usually accommodate last minute requests. As mentioned, I will treat your pet like I would my own, always making sure that they are well taken care of -- I can provide a relaxed atmosphere or engage in play time. Everything is personalized to your pets needs. I also board/pet sit small to medium dogs and cats in my home - day care, overnights or vacations.
“Kathleen was exceptional! Communicated early and often and was very accommodating and flexible. She definitely knows her dogs and has a lot of experience caring for all types of breeds and dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Will absolutely use her as my “go to” from now on!”

“Keely is an amazing sitter! I received so many pictures and Minnie looked like she was having a great time! Although Minnie was very happy when I picked her up I knew that she was well cared for. Thank you so much Keely for caring for Minnie on such a short notice!!”
“We love Kieran and Marty! Kieran is always a great communicator and so sweet. Our dog is always in great hands & we always feel as ease when Kieran is taking care of our sweet Houdini. ❤️”

“My dog is more excited to go over Roxanne's house than he is to go anywhere else. Roxanne is great with communication and very flexible. She is a godsend for my peace of mind regarding my Border Collie, Connor.”
“These guys were super responsive and very kind to accept our pups last minute. We ended running later than expected and they were flexible and friendly about it. Even sent photos during the day to ease our minds. We were extremely happy with the service.”

Omar was absolutely wonderful with little Rocket today! I’m so grateful for his flexibility and willingness to watch him on such short notice. He sent amazing updates throughout the day along with so many beautiful photos, which gave me complete peace of mind knowing Rocket was happy and well cared for. Thank you so much, Omar. You’re the best! We’ll definitely be booking with you again.

We’re so grateful to have found Kallan! This is our second time booking with him through Rover. We were referred to him by friends, and now we completely understand why they spoke so highly of him. He’s kind, dependable, communicative, and always goes above and beyond. Our puppy absolutely loves him, and we always travel with total peace of mind knowing he’s in Kallan’s care.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Christina was absolutely amazing! She took our 9-week-old puppy on very short notice and made us feel completely at ease. She kept him safe, cared for him like he was her own, and even gave him some toys to take home, which was such a thoughtful surprise. We really appreciate how kind, reliable, and accommodating she was. We would definitely recommend Christina to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter, and we’ll absolutely be booking with her again.

Megan is a life saver! She took my little monster for a week and a half--at her place, on short notice--and I came back to a happy, tuckered-out pup. Megan was flexible on timing, super communicative, and most importantly, clearly loves her time with dogs. Looking forward to future playdates.

Valari was really nice and patient despite Theo being scared during their first meeting. Seems like Theo warmed up to him quick after he was able to take him from us. He communicated and sent photo/video when needed to keep us updated while we were away for a few hours. Will recommend him to anyone who will need care for their pup even with short notice.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Universal City commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 7,712 sitters in Universal City, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
