“My pup had a lovely time with Nancy and her pack of 3 small dogs! We did a thorough Meet & Greet, introducing the dogs on a brief walk, seeing her home, and going through my dog’s routine and preferences. On the first day of dog sitting, Nancy sent me regular updates of everyone going on plenty of walks and getting along. I appreciated Nancy’s dedication as a dog lover and the thoughtful questions she asked to make my pup comfortable in her home 💜”

“Jose and his family were so kind and patient with this energetic pup. They gave him lots of walks, let him hang out and sunbathe outside, and played with him to keep him stimulated. Oakley came home a happy boy. Les recomiendo a José con su perrito. 🩷”

“Amazing care for our two pups!! Elena was super responsive and understanding, even for our last-minute request. We needed doggy day care while we visited Universal Studios, as our hotel didn’t allow dogs to be left unattended in the room. We road-tripped down from Seattle (with our 2 dogs & 2 kiddos) and camped along the way, which left us a little frazzled and haggard... Elena was very empathetic and caring, despite my lack of proper research, planning, and punctuality.. lol Probably should’ve looked into things a bit more in-depth about the hotel pet policy beforehand, but I am incredibly grateful that Elena was able to take the pups while we visited the parks for a couple days. She was very tolerant, observant, and nurturing with our two pets, and I think they had a great time… even though they aren’t the best-trained dogs. We have a 4-year-old sassy chihuahua-heeler mix, and a 1.25-year-old Malinois-cattle dog mix. They are sweet girls, but have a strange dynamic. Elena took them in stride and handled them with care, as if they were her own. 10/10!! Couldn’t have asked for a better pet-sitter in our time of need. Thank you so much, Elena!!”

“Peanut was so happy to see Amorn and Adam again, which made me feel great about choosing them. She got lots of attention, I got great updates and photos, and would definitely use them for Peanut again.”

“Highly recommend Ten! She's quickly become a regular sitter for me. My dog gets excited to go to her place because she knows it means a fun day ahead! Ten's super communicative, kind, patient, and really great with dogs. 100/10!”

“Atlas absolutely loved hanging out with Ceara! She was so accommodating with his needs and went above and beyond with making him feel comfortable. I wish I could give more than 5 stars - I absolutely recommend Ceara!”

“Jodie is fab! Flexible with timing and sent lots of pics and updates, which I was grateful for since it was my dog’s first daycare session with her. You can tell she just really loves dogs. Thank you and Paws up, Jodie!”

“Tyler was amazing with my pups! You could tell he was so loving and thoughtful and took them in as his own! Loved that he sent photos the entire time and also let me know about water breaks and potty breaks. I will be using Tyler as much as I can!”

“Barbara was so helpful and reliable when I sent a last minute request for care for my girl. She took such great care of her and I can’t wait to book with her again!! 💛 thank you Barbara!”

About: Having a dog and 2 cats as a kid was the best childhood! I am home most of the day so I have lots of time to walk and play with your pup! I live with my boyfriend who also loves animals. I have been freelance dog sitting/walking for the last year through friends but looking for more furry friends here! Send me a message so we can talk more about you and your pet’s needs I work from home doing a part time job so I am mainly a home body. I am based in North Hollywood and generally service Noho, Burbank, Toluca Lake, Studio City and parts of Sherman Oaks I don’t accept animals from multiple households at once for my safety and theirs. I have multiple screen doors where they can safely watch the world outside at all the people and dogs who might pass by. I can also offer daytime sitting in someone’s home as long as my laptop and internet access is allowed!
“Areli is simply the best! Nami loves getting to spend time with her. She is also super understanding and flexible with scheduling. My partner and I got stuck in some pretty bad traffic causing us to be late for her pickup but Areli was super understanding. 100% recommend”

“Mayra was quickly responsive as well as very accommodating with my last minute need for dog sitting. Greatful she was able to watch Lucy for the day. Mayra has great energy and I highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs. 🩷”

“I was really nervous to leave my dog because it was his first time and he’s usually very scared of people. But she did an amazing job he had so much fun, felt completely relaxed at her place, and she took such good care of him. I highly recommend her a thousand times!”

About: Trusting someone with your family member is an important decision. My #1 priority is to make sure you and your pet are relaxed and at ease. I am a great communicator and have excellent relationships with my clients, so that I can always stay on top of your pets needs. I am also experienced with puppies, (especially Corgis and Goldens) as well as elderly pets. I would love the opportunity to meet you and your pet to see if I am a good fit. I have full availability - mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends. I have some regular clients but I am also good in a pinch and can usually accommodate last minute requests. As mentioned, I will treat your pet like I would my own, always making sure that they are well taken care of -- I can provide a relaxed atmosphere or engage in play time. Everything is personalized to your pets needs. I also board/pet sit small to medium dogs and cats in my home - day care, overnights or vacations.
“Veronica is awesome! She has a yard but still takes my baby on walks and hikes and sends pictures throughout the day. And my baby always gets sooo excited to see her and that means something!! Thank you Veronica for loving my pup :)”
“Hi! I’m new to Rover, this was my first experience. I choose Roxanne based on her 378+ positive reviews and she seemed like a great choice. Great doesn’t begin to describe the experience Tino and I had with Roxanne. Roxanne is very nice, calming and really knows animals. Communication was exceptional and tons of photos were sent thru-out the day. Her home was very clean and comfortable with a great yard for Tino to play in. Tino has never taken to anyone so quickly he absolutely loves Roxanne. He came home both days tired and happy. Not only is /was Roxanne great with my baby she was super helpful with me as a new puppy owner knowing how to get him to eat and easing my mind with his allergies, over all very helpful and nurturing. I’m hesitant to leave this review as I want Roxanne all to myself! However Thank you Roxanne for making my experience a positive one!!”

“Scott took the best care of my baby and he even gifted a tote bag with some gifts. Would definitely recommend him and I will definitely be hiring him again!”

Megan is a life saver! She took my little monster for a week and a half--at her place, on short notice--and I came back to a happy, tuckered-out pup. Megan was flexible on timing, super communicative, and most importantly, clearly loves her time with dogs. Looking forward to future playdates.

Valari was really nice and patient despite Theo being scared during their first meeting. Seems like Theo warmed up to him quick after he was able to take him from us. He communicated and sent photo/video when needed to keep us updated while we were away for a few hours. Will recommend him to anyone who will need care for their pup even with short notice.

Ceara was absolutely wonderful with us! She took such loving, attentive, and thoughtful care of Anko, playing with her so well and keeping us updated with sweet messages and photos. I could tell Anko completely trusted her and felt so safe and comfortable. Also, she was incredibly flexible with the schedule over the two days to accommodate us, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy our trip even more than planned. Ceara is genuinely kind and gentle, and I highly recommend her. We will definitely be back! ❤️🐾

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Universal City commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
