“Barbara was so helpful and reliable when I sent a last minute request for care for my girl. She took such great care of her and I can’t wait to book with her again!! 💛 thank you Barbara!”

“I can’t say enough good things about Alfie’s daycare! He has become best friends with their dog, and it makes me so happy seeing how excited he is to be there. It’s so clear that he feels completely comfortable, safe, and at home with them. As someone who has to leave him while I’m at work, it gives me so much peace of mind knowing that he isn’t just being taken care of, but is genuinely having the best time with people (and a pup!) he loves. I’m so grateful to have found a place where I never have to worry about him and know he’s happy, loved, and having fun all day. Couldn’t recommend them more!”

“Sloane was absolutely amazing with my husky, Archie! We did a day of daycare and will definitely be back. She was very communicative and took a lot of pictures of Archie on walks and napping. My husky is a large, 80 pound, high energy dog and Sloane did so good with him. I can’t recommend her enough!!”

“Maria took such wonderful care of our puppy, Archie, during our trip to LA. She was incredibly flexible with our schedule, kept us updated with photos and gave us complete peace of mind throughout our trip. It was obvious how much she genuinely loves dogs and Archie was so well cared for and happy with her. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would absolutely book with Maria again. Highly recommend!”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Reliable, Caring, and Extremely Flexible Therese has been wonderful with Willow. After multiple day care visits, I can confidently say she is attentive, patient, and genuinely caring. Willow settled in quickly, felt completely comfortable, and spent much of the day relaxed and napping nearby, which speaks volumes. Therese was incredibly flexible and accommodating, especially during a longer day of care. She also periodically sent photos of Willow at her home, which was very reassuring and gave me great peace of mind knowing Willow was in excellent care. Willow came home happy and relaxed each time. I truly appreciate Therese’s consistency and reliability and would absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend!”

“Talia was so great! We were able to book last minute with her and she was incredibly communicative during Oliver’s stay. Talia sent a lot of pictures and was really nice to keep me updated on how Oliver was doing. I would definitely book again with her :)”

“Martin was fantastic with our dog Otto. Otto can get nervous in new places and Martin took the time to make him comfortable and safe. He was very communicative and sent us lots of photos. We would absolutely leave Otto with him again.”

“Jenna is AMAZING! We immediately felt comfortable leaving our little girl with her and she did not disappoint. Jenna truly loves dogs and will treat yours just like her own. She sends many photo updates and communication throughout the day so we always know how our pup is doing. Regina (our dog) now looks forward to her days with Jenna and Meadow (Jenna’s dog). We look forward to using her services for the forseeable future!”

About: I want your dog to feel like he or she is safe and at home in my house. I randomly started watching dogs over 7 years ago and it has brought me so much joy and flexibility in life. I have always loved dogs, and find it a privilege to be able to house and care for them. I love taking funny pictures of dogs, so I will consistently keep you updated on your dog so you can relax and enjoy yourself. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine as my life revolves around pets. I'm always at home so I have lots of time to give your pet regular walks and playtime. I adjust my schedule based on their feeding schedule and make sure their normal sleep schedule stays on track. My house has a lot of fenced running room for your dog, and lots of indoor space for playing. My house also keeps a relaxed and calm atmosphere of love and acceptance. I keep my house very clean, and I allow your dog to follow their normal sleeping routine, allowing dogs on furniture and beds.
“My little Gía always has a great time with Jane! At least 1 walk/day, and Jane is SO flexible with my varying pick-up/drop-off times. What a gift to have her so close-by as well. Thanks again, Jane!”

“Chelsi is simply amazing!!! She’s so thoughtful and really loves dogs. I felt immediately comfortable leaving my pup with her. I can’t recommend her highly enough. She sent me updates all day long, and it was obvious that my dog was feeling at home too. She was a great match for our - relaxed, flexible, respectful of each dogs personalities. Just such a good vibe overall. Our experience with her was really way above what I had expected. We will definitely be booking with her again ♥️”

“Needed a last minute sitter for Bobby. Da Sol responded quickly and was able to accommodate daycare for the next day. She is friendly and communicative. Bobby loves her! I highly recommend Da Sol!”

About: I love dogs -- my golden retriever, Lily, is the center of my world -- and have 6+ years of pet care experience. I would love to care for your dog(s) while you're away at work or on holiday! I work part-time from home, so I have tons of flexibility. I set my own schedule, so I'm able to pivot with last minute emergencies. Safety and trust are my top priorities. Pets are our family members, and caring for them requires the utmost consideration and communication. Please feel free to ask me any questions!
About: Professional Pet Care from Someone Who's Done This for 35 Years I've spent decades caring for animals—professionally at Chicago's Shedd Aquarium as a diver in the Wild Reef Exhibit and personally through friends and my own ownership. What I Offer Dog sitting (drop-in visits or overnight care) Dog walking (I also hike and can take dogs on longer walks if applicable to their health and weather permitting - not too hot!) Secure, attentive supervision—I actually know your dog, not just checking in What Makes This Different I'm new to Rover, but I'm not new to responsibility. I treat your pet like mine, I notice what matters (appetite, behavior, routine), and I follow the care plan you set. Your dog gets experienced hands and someone who shows up. We will need to meet firstly, that's how we will know it's a good fit for everyone, and it's how you know I'm serious. After that, you can book with confidence! I am currently retired so I have the time to spend with your fur baby. Also, I am an avid hiker so if that is also something you are interested in for your dogs I would be a good fit! I bring plenty of experience and water! I will only hike with pets early in the morning or afternoon if it is a hotter day. I am very considerate of their wellbeing and safety! I live in a duplex; there is a park about three blocks away that I bring the pups. If the dog is capable of off leash, after I have gotten to know them a bit and feel comfortable, they will be safe, I can take them to play catch. If not, a walk or hike is my specialty. I am extremely contentious to safety first.

Deniz was so sweet and my anxious dog Kaiya settled right in! I am so glad the sitting day went well as my pup has some issues being around other dogs and has a bunch of those tricky husky behaviors. Luckily Deniz had lots of experience and had no problems accommodating to Kaiya's needs!

Mona is amazing! From our initial meet-and-greet to the day I dropped off my 5-month-old Bernedoodle, Oliver, she was easy to communicate with, and it was clear she genuinely loves dogs. Throughout the day, Mona kept me updated with plenty of photos and videos of Oliver. Those updates were incredibly reassuring and gave me peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. I especially appreciated the safe, welcoming environment she provides. The fenced yard gave Oliver plenty of space to run, play, and have fun. I also really appreciated that Mona took the time to listen to my concerns and made sure Oliver's needs were met. I would absolutely trust Mona with Oliver again and will definitely reach out to her the next time I need dog care. Thank you so much, Mona, for taking such wonderful care of my pup!

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
