“Lilly and Ryan were wonderful! I feel so lucky to have found them. They live in my apartment complex, which made everything so convenient, and they took great care of my little Millie. It gave me such peace of mind knowing she was in good hands. I’m so grateful for their help and will definitely be booking with them again. Thank you both! ❤️❤️❤️”

“Joe was very nice, easy to communicate with, and sent great photos of Magic enjoying his fenced-in yard and relaxing inside. Would definitely book again. Thank you, Joe! Appreciate you taking Magic in last minute!”

“Would highly recommend Annie for dog sitting as she has always been super flexible with my schedule and is always responsive. She took my dog on multiple walks throughout the day and was accommodating for all of my pet’s needs”

“Emily is simply the best. I've never really cared to stick with one sitter before but I literally couldn't fathom leaving my little guy with anyone but her ever again. She sends the most remarkably high quality photo & video updates that really make me feel like my Benji is right here with me when I'm away & she's so flexible & accomodating of my frequent last minute requests. I'm so thankful we found her !”

“Our dog had a wonderful stay with Lindsey! She can be more nervous around new people but she settled right in with Lindsey and Zeus and had a great time. We appreciated all of Lindsey’s communication and photos too! We’ll definitely be booking future stays with Lindsey :)”

“Ross watched our puppy ‘Henry’ this evening while my husband and I had “date night”. Ross is very experienced with dogs and handled our four-month-old golden retriever puppy beautifully. Thanks, Ross!”
“Second time my dog has had daycare with Kathleen and she sent me cute photos and my dog looked happy and relaxed. The Rover Card completion is always appreciated. Looking forward to the next one!”

About: I’m a dog lover based in Venice with a small fenced yard, and I WFH during the week - so your pup will get plenty of attention, care, and company throughout the day! I have a Yorkipoo puppy & grew up with two Maltese, while also being the go-to sitter for friends and coworkers for years. I focus on creating a calm, safe, and loving environment where dogs feel comfortable and cared for :) I work from home during the week. I’m also usually available on weekends for boarding or longer stays! My puppy, Mimi, loves other dogs and will keep your puppy company. She also hangs out in an enclosed playpen and is fine to be seperated if need be. I have a clean, safe, & spacious home with a small fenced yard for safe outdoor time. I stick closely to your dog’s schedule and make sure they feel comfortable and at home.

I grew up in a household with cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters and fish at different times. I had two cats and two dogs as an adult that have since passed away. My favorite place at a party is with the animals. I’m a full time work from home professional. Mostly M-F days with flexible hours. I’m able to work one on one with my clients to figure out what works the best for you. Able to work anywhere with a WiFi connection and willing to do this at your home or mine to give full time companionship to your pet as needed. My building has a dedicated pet area and walkable neighborhood with a small park for daily dog outdoor time. Willing to work with crates, medication or any other special needs

About: I grew up with 2+ dogs in my house since I was 5 years old. Primarily vizslas, but also a few terrier mixes. I love all dogs (an abnormal amount), am a very active person, and miss having my own dog. I’ve had one dog of my own who I trained on my own and with puppy school and was very well behaved. I have done pet sitting and walking in the past and am currently just out of graduate school and looking to fill some time before I start full time work. I’m currently a part time professional cyclists so I have lots of time for dog love. My ex currently has my dog so I’m desperate to have some dog love around as well. I would take our (8lb) dog for 2 beach walks a day, usually around 2-3 miles each. I have a fenced yard myself and my own transportation. I’m happy to accommodate however you best see your pets being cared for. Whether it’s a long walk or just company for the animal
“Mickie was fabulous. This is the first time she cared for our dogs. We were immediately impressed by her and her space. She took great care of our two dogs while we went to a concert. They got along great with Mickie’s dogs. She has a great space for the dogs. I would be happy to have Mickie care for my dogs again.”

About: Hi! I’m a dependable and caring animal lover with experience taking care of dogs and other pets of all sizes and personalities. I understand how important it is to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I have a Miniature Australian Shepherd of my own, so I’m very familiar with energetic, intelligent dogs and the attention and care they need. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, overnight care, or just keeping your pet company, I’ll treat them like family and make sure they get plenty of love and attention. I work part-time for myself, so I have a flexible schedule and can usually be available as long as I receive notice ahead of time. I genuinely enjoy being active with dogs, whether that means long walks, playing fetch, going to the park, or helping them burn off energy and stay happy. I love spending time with animals and making sure they get plenty of exercise, attention, and care while you’re away. When caring for your dog in your home, I will make sure to follow all of your instructions closely to keep your pet comfortable and maintain their normal routine. I treat every home with respect and ensure everything stays clean, safe, and exactly how you left it. I will provide fresh water, regular feeding, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and lots of attention so your dog feels relaxed and secure in their familiar environment. My goal is to reduce any stress your pet may feel while you’re away by giving them consistent care, affection, and companionship right in their own home. For longer stays I prefer my dog accompany me. She is 1.5 years old, trained, and extremely friendly.
“I had a great experience with Ryan. He took excellent care of my senior dogs, including one who was healing from an ingrown nail and had some trouble walking. He handled him with such care and patience. I appreciated the photo update while I was away and both drop-off and pick-up were seamless. My dogs came back calm and content. I would definitely recommend Ryan and will be booking again in the future.”

“Great sitter! Booked last minute and on a holiday and she and her husband were super quick to answer. They even pick phantom up. I would recommend and book again. :)”

“Roxy is great! She took good care of my baby puppy so well l. Always keeping me posted, sending a lot of photos and made sure my puppy had fun. Will definitely recommend her!”

Yadi has taken care of Laika many times while we’ve been away traveling, and we always feel completely at ease knowing Laika is with her. She is caring, responsible, and genuinely loves dogs. Laika is always happy and comfortable with Yadi, which means so much to us. We trust her completely and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable and loving to care for their dog!

Deniz was so sweet and my anxious dog Kaiya settled right in! I am so glad the sitting day went well as my pup has some issues being around other dogs and has a bunch of those tricky husky behaviors. Luckily Deniz had lots of experience and had no problems accommodating to Kaiya's needs!

Roxy was friendly and kind and responded quickly to a very last minute request. Buddy had a fantastic time playing with the other pups and came home happily exhausted!! Roxy’s home is absolutely set up for dogs with a large outdoor yard for them to run around. Thank you. We’ll come again!

Christelle is absolutely AMAZING!!! She is everything you would want and more in a dog sitter. Our pup has been experiencing some separation anxiety after a move, and she was so patient and calm with her adjustment into her environment, even updating us on her interactions. Christelle was kindly accepting of our request within minutes of dropping Olive off, and her responses and updates again were very professional and out of the way to make sure we were informed. We had some harder news reach us in our personal lives this night, and showing up to a kind soul with our pup very happy was a really beautiful relief in the night. Thank you Christelle! You did more than just pup sit! If you’re wondering about booking her, rest assured your pup is in the right spot.

Lizzy (and partner Aaron) is a wonder for sitter for our dog, Max. Poor Max apparently had a very tough life before we got him from a rescue group at age 6 years. He's a very sweet and loving dog, but when he's very anxious and frightened, he can be tough to deal with. Lizzy is one of the calmest people I've ever met and she only takes one dog at a time. She is perfect for Max and, though he's anxious and has serious separation anxiety, he seems to be much more comfortable at Lizzy's place that he is anywhere else aside from home. Lizzy and Aaron are highly experienced in caring for dogs (both their own in the past and other people's dogs) and seem to be unflappable. They have a great house with a backyard on a quiet street in West LA. We are so glad we found them!

Angela is a wonderful sitter and took excellent care of Theo! She is very friendly and caring and made Theo feel comfortable in her home. She is also responsive and communicative, providing frequent updates on how Theo was doing throughout the day. Theo had a great time and we are so thankful!

Ada was literally so flexible with our timing and such a great communicator. She responded so fast to my questions and worked with me for a last minute daycare for my dog Otto. She absolutely saved our butts and it looks like Otto had a great time too. Thanks Ada!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Venice commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
