About: I’ve personally had many dogs and cats throughout both my childhood and now adulthood and consider them my family. I’m patient, kind, caring and very good with any and all special care needs for younger or older pets. I’m currently working part time and remotely from my home so I have a lot of time and flexibility / openings daily as may be needed. I have a fenced yard in a nice, safe neighborhood with one male terrier mix dog and one long haired domestic long hair cat. I work remotely so am home with my pets and any additional friends I may meet who come by! Very animal safe!
“I accidentally gave Robert a bit of a logistical nightmare and he was so flexible, kind, and understanding! Dexter was rambunctious and excited and Robert seemed to easily manage him and calm him down and play with him! SOOO appreciative of his help -- will definitely be requesting again!”

“Mallory was amazing, she is a kind, caring and attentive person. I felt immediately comfortable meeting her and it was a great experience overall! My little Nugget Remy also appreciated her very much!”

“Maria is fantastic. She walks my dog Louie for an hour a few days each week. She shows up on time, makes sure Louie does her thing, and hangs out if there is extra time. 5* would recommend!”

“Megan was so helpful while we were away. She was always on time and our dog really enjoyed his walks with her. I appreciated the photos and updates while I was traveling.”

“Nadia is wonderful with Milo with boarding, daycare or walks. She always goes the extra mile and I never worry when Milo is with her. In addition, to providing a safe and fun environment she also throws in some training. He is always well behaved with her and is at ease with her.”

“Ken is TRULY a great caretaker! He is so Empathetic and my doggies just loved him!!! Am so happy I found Ken here on Rover. Much appreciated and will certainly be hiring Ken again in the future. 🙏🙏🙏”

About: In addition to helping raise our family dog growing up, I have years of experience caring for dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments. My approach emphasizes positive reinforcement, emotional regulation, consistency, and clear communication. I draw inspiration from evidence-based training methods, including the principles outlined in Karen Pryor’s Don’t Shoot the Dog. I have experience caring for energetic dogs, sensitive dogs, and dogs who benefit from extra patience and structure. Most recently, I rescued my mini poodle mix, Luigi, in January 2026. Working with him has deepened my understanding of canine behavior, relationship-building, and creating an environment where dogs can feel safe, confident, and understood. Whether your dog needs exercise, companionship, routine care, or simply a calm and reliable presence, I will treat them with the same attention and respect I give my own. I work approximately 15 hours per week on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings. My flexible schedule allows me to provide consistent, attentive care and spend meaningful time with the dogs in my care. Dogs receive a minimum of three walks per day, with many receiving four to five depending on their needs and energy level. Safety and trust are my highest priorities. I pay close attention to each dog’s body language, comfort level, and individual routine. I use positive reinforcement, maintain clear boundaries, and strive to create a calm, structured environment where dogs can feel safe and understood. I am happy to follow your existing feeding, walking, medication, crate, and training routines to ensure consistency. Whether caring for your dog in my home or yours, I will treat them with the same attentiveness and respect I give my own dog, Luigi.
“This was my first week using Todd and Rover in general, and he went up and beyond my expectations. He worked really well with my schedule, and my pup liked him right away. He even does a bit of walk training on the walks, amazing!”

“Rachel is wonderful - she came through for me in a pinch and was warm, patient with my puppy, knowledgeable about dogs and just a lovely presence. I felt my puppy was in very safe hands and would highly recommend Rachel!”

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life and have experience caring for both cats and dogs of all ages. I currently foster cats and kittens, giving me hands-on experience with feeding, administering medication, and socialization. I have experience regularly walking both large and small dogs. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes, energy levels, and walking styles, whether they prefer a leisurely stroll or a more active outing. I love spending time with animals and my goal is always to make sure your pets feel safe, happy, and cared for. I’m a recent graduate from Pepperdine University currently on summer break before beginning graduate studies, so I have plenty of time to care for your pets whenever best fits into your schedule. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. During walks, I pay close attention to my surroundings, use secure leash handling, and tailor each walk to your dog’s energy levels and needs. For drop-in visits, I follow your pet’s routing as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, medications, playtime, and any special instructions. I understand that every pet is different, so I take the time to get to know their personality and comfort level. Whether they are outgoing or more reserved, I’ll make sure they receive attentive care. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident that you pet is happy and well cared for. As a cat foster and lifelong pet owner, I’m experienced in recognizing changes in behavior and ensuring pets stay safe, comfortable, and stress-free.
About: I have had dogs/pets my whole life & currently have one fur baby at home. I really enjoy taking pups for long walks outside, or just checking-in with them to make sure they're happy, fed & safe. My current job is fully remote, & I take multiple breaks throughout the day to go for neighborhood walks on my own (my company encourages it!) so this would fit right into my schedule. I am very aware of my surroundings & cautious of other people/kids/dogs that are walking around. I always double-check that doors are locked, leashes are clipped & water bowls are full :)

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Venice
Jason has watched my baby Dodger twice and it’s a stellar experience each time. He’s thoughtful, thorough and very reliable. He makes sure your pet has everything they need as well as what they can/can’t have. He brought in a package of mine too, which I really appreciated. Never disappointed with Jason, 5 stars!

Caitlin is the sweetest! Lunch had the best time on their walks. Caitlin took him to explore new areas each day and sent the cutest photo updates! She really put so much effort and thought into enriching his daily walks, and he was such a happy (and tired) guy when I got home!

Kevin is THE BEST!! I have a Husky who can be a little crazy on the leash so I always worry. I had to travel for 24 hours and asked Kevin to come walk and check on Mac a few times. He was super communicative which made me feel that Mac was in good hands and that I could trust him to keep Mac safe. I came back to a very happy, chill doggo :)

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Venice. On Rover:
- 89% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
