I’m Jessie, and I’m the kind of person who will absolutely say hello to your dog before saying hello to you. 😂 I’ve always had a huge soft spot for animals, and I genuinely love spending time with dogs—their goofy personalities, their weird little habits, their excitement over absolutely nothing, and yes, even the occasional dramatic refusal to walk in the direction I’m going. I’ve had dogs throughout my life and have also cared for other people’s pets, so while I’m new to Rover as a dog walker, I’m definitely not new to taking care of dogs. When your dog is with me, I want them to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I’m attentive to their individual personality and needs rather than treating every dog the same. Some pups want to run and explore, some want a leisurely sniff-filled stroll, and some mostly want to stop every 30 seconds to investigate a suspicious-looking leaf. I’m good with all of it. I’m dependable, communicative, and I take the responsibility of caring for someone’s pet seriously. I’ll pay attention to things like how your dog is behaving, what they’re comfortable with, and any instructions you give me about their routine. And honestly, I’m in this because I like dogs. A lot. I’m also comfortable working around different routines and can be flexible about timing when possible. I know that trusting someone with your dog is a big deal. I take that responsibility seriously and will always put your dog’s safety and comfort first. I’ll follow your instructions carefully, including leash, feeding, and any other routines or special needs you share with me. I pay attention to how a dog is behaving and will never push them into something they’re uncomfortable with. I’m also big on communication. About: I've been taking care of animals my entire life, from my own dogs and cats, to those of friends and neighbors, and now I do it professionally part time. I work from home and my husband is retired so our flexible schedules allow us to spend quality time with your pet during the day, for overnight boarding, and extended stays. We provide a quiet, loving environment, making us a good fit for animals with separation anxiety, or seniors who need constant care or medication. We do not leave dogs by themselves during their stay with us. Since we live in an upstairs apartment, dogs that are a good match for us are fairly quiet and well behaved and can settle down between play and walk time. But I'm happy to do drop ins and walks for puppies and rambunctious pups! **Pick-up and/or Drop-off** is available for an additional fee. Price depends on distance. If interested in this service please inquire and I can add the fee to your invoice. Having animals in my apartment with me makes the days better and I tailor my own work schedule around them. Pets can make themselves at home, are allowed on the furniture, go where they want to and can sleep the bed if they want to. I have doggie stairs for little ones, lots of clean, comfy blankets, plus balls and toys. I LOVE to walk and am happy to provide as many outside breaks as necessary, as well as long energetic walks for dogs who enjoy exercise. Our upstairs apartment has a security screen door for fresh air and views, lots of securely screened windows for cats who enjoy bird and squirrel watching, and we are set away from traffic and the street. There is one flight of stairs up to our unit but I am happy to carry pups that have trouble climbing. I am used to feeding special diets, can accommodate frequent or complicated feedings, and have experience administering medications, including pills, liquids, transdermals, subcutaneous injections and fluids.

About: We love all animals. But we are particularly experienced in caring for pups that are more prone to nervousness and anxiety. It's like emotional support - but for dogs! Sadly, we lost our own mutts to old age toward the end of the lockdown. They led healthy and active lives well into their teenage years. We will always miss them! About: You know the pet that “doesn't like new people”, is “grumpy”, and “always hides”? Give me ten minutes and that cat or dog will be eating out of my hand. Call it a talent. Call it a gift. I’ve had it since birth, and I’m pleased to share it with discerning pet parents on the west side of Los Angeles. I’ve lived with cats my entire life. My Maine Coon mix Dallas passed at age 15, and since then have fostered 20 cats via the Stray Cat Alliance with every age and temperament. I’ve volunteered at the NKLA adoption center, doing enrichment and writing/shooting adoption videos. I’ve also served as Marketing Director at the Paw Project, the only animal rights organization dedicated to outlawing cat declawing. I've lived with dogs for shorter periods, and am most comfortable with smaller to medium-sized dogs. Cats: I have experience administering probiotics, pills, liquid medicine, eye drops, and injections. Dogs: I have less experience administering medication, but am happy to follow specific directions. Please feel free to reach out with any questions! I'm currently working part time with flexibility; my schedule should easily mesh with yours. I understand that some pets are on more of an exact schedule and I'm happy to honor that. Physical safety: Having hosted certain foster pets who rush the door or otherwise attempt escape, I'm accustomed to ensuring all doors and windows are secured and triple checking escape routes when entering/exiting the home. Medical safety: I'll be on the lookout for any behaviors indicating stress or illness, including monitoring the litter box/poop activity and for cats having the Feline Grimace Scale handy. Please leave your vet's information in case of an emergency. My backup is the VEG Veterinary Emergency Group in Santa Monica. Emotional safety: I know what to do and how to show up energetically in order for your pet to feel safe with me. Being a cat foster parent I've delved deeply into Jackson Galaxy's videos and books. Pets are extremely sensitive and intuitive, and any stress can cause illness - we'll have neither stress or illness on my watch.

About: I've always embraced the fact that I've always had such an innate sense to relate to animals and being a pet caregiver is the best way to feed our souls I'm a freelance consultant so my schedule is flexible & can pivot to whatever is the priority at the time. My goal is to care for your pet as well as I would care for mine I have been a pet owner for the past 25 years & have an intuitive sense of what my dogs or cats need & want. About: I have taken care of my own pets and others since I was a kid. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, and birds. I have experience in pet training my own animals as well. I work from home a few days a week, so I have plenty of time to spend with your pet. I personally do a daily walk for myself and would love some company! I have no pets of my own so can definitely provide a safe environment for animals at my house. I do have an outdoor space for pets to explore while supervised. It is technically fenced in, but I share the lot with 2 other houses, so your pet wouldn't be left out unattended.

About: I’ve taken care of cats and dogs since I was 14. I pet sit a big dog and two cats for an entire summer in NYC in 2022 where I truly learned the responsibility of caring for animals. Since then I have dog sat for family friends and there’s nothing more fulfilling than having a pet let you in. I am currently a student at Loyola university so my availability is limited to Thursday night-Monday. I am always taking daily walks around my neighborhood and would love to be accompanied by some furry friends:) I am also available for pet sitting or play dates at the house.
