About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and currently have a 100-pound Golden Retriever named Kevin. Caring for a large, active dog has given me experience with daily walks, exercise, playtime, feeding routines, and making sure dogs feel safe and comfortable away from home. I know every dog is different, so I take the time to learn their personality, routine, and needs. Whether your pup loves long walks, playing fetch, beach adventures, or just relaxing and getting attention, I’ll make sure they feel right at home. My goal is to provide a safe, fun, and loving environment while keeping you updated with photos and messages throughout their stay. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine with my own Golden Retriever, Kevin. My schedule is flexible, which allows me to provide plenty of attention, walks, playtime, potty breaks, and companionship throughout the day. I make sure every dog gets the care, exercise, and love they need to feel comfortable and happy while they’re with me. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a friendly 100-pound Golden Retriever named Kevin who loves other dogs and helps make visiting pups feel right at home. Dogs are always supervised, have plenty of fresh water, exercise, playtime, and a comfortable place to relax. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pup is in good hands.
“Kellie really cares and puts in the extra mile to make sure pups and their parents are happy. Would highly recommend to anyone especially with a puppy as Kellie is super sweet and patient.”

“Great walk with Collin. He picked up our dog from our place and took him on a great scenic walk. Thanks so much for making it easy for us. On time, quick communicator, and Rory loves him!”

“Prompt response. Very caring and shows she cares for dogs. Birutė is very personable, very diligent in following instructions and shows she is committed to taking good care of my pup. She was punctual, sent me quick feedback about her contact with my dog, asked questions appropriately. I would highly recommend!”

About: I grew up around dogs and have had large dogs of my own. This taught me how to care for dogs of all temperaments and how to get to know each dogs preferred walking and play style. I enjoy getting to know each pets rhythms and keeping them conformable as they get their daily exercise. I also offer attentive drop-in visits for feeding, playtime, litter box care, and companionship to help pets feel comfortable and relaxed while you’re away. Whether it’s regular dog walking in Santa Monica or reliable drop-in visits, I prioritize safety, consistency, and making sure every pet feels secure and cared for. I am currently on a gap summer before continuing my education, and enjoy pet sitting as a way to save up some money for school between volunteering and working on my summer research project. I prioritize creating a safe, calm, and trusting environment for every pet in my care. I take the time to get to know each animal so I can provide care that is tailored to their individual needs, routines, and personality. “Amy was quick to respond, detail oriented, punctual and caring for todays walk. She was so gracious about me booking a service last minute and very understanding. I would recommend her to anyone!”

About: Volunteered at an animal shelter and at an aquarium each for a year, respectively. Also have had cats for 10+ years, so I have plenty of day-to-day experience dealing with pets. I'm a UC Berkeley student back in Santa Monica for the summer (from now to mid-August), which means I can work basically whatever hours or whatever day of the week. Petting and playing with your pet, taking them for extra long walks, maybe even running with them for a little bit, if they seem down for it, feeding them (as specified), etc.
“Thank you so much, Arezu! We just love Arezu and really appreciate how good she is to my Everest. She always communicates and makes us feel comfortable leaving our beloved Husky mix with her. She is the best!”

“Anna is great, very comfortable with my two boys that can be a bit rambunctious. I’ve never used a dog walker before and so I was I bit nervous about as we’re very protective of our boys. But Anna put me completely at ease, very professional and in control with them. And when they returned I could tell that they’d had a very good time! I highly recommend her!”

About: I have had dogs my whole life and have always enjoyed company of an animal. I have also helped neighbors with their dogs with feeding, walks, and accompanying them. I am capable of lifting dogs of higher weights in the case it’s necessary. I am actively looking for work as such, I can be available at any time in the day and all week long when requested to do a service. I have my own dog who gets walked an ample distance a day and play within the house. As for a potential clients animal, I would follow all given instructions and make sure the animal is well cared for during the time I am there.
“Thomas is terrific!! so happy to have found him. I know my pet, Lili, is in good hands when she’s out for a walk with him. He is warm and caring towards my pet, and I love that he communicates About arrival time and details of the walk.”

“Arzu is a dog whisperer through and through. She has been professional, consistent, kind, and responsive. Our two pittie mixes Yoshi and Lyric adore Arzu and they have been happier and calmer since they have been spending time with Arzu. Our family is certain that Arzu is a true gift to furry friends everywhere. Arzu - thank you for everything!”

About: I live and work in LA. I'm always happy to dog sit as I'm doing this on the side. My first job in high school was working at an animal hospital in the kennel so I am an expert dog carer! But don't leave your dog in a kennel where they'll be kept in a cage all day, I'd be glad to watch them instead! I'll keep you updated with pictures throughout the duration of care. I have a flexible job and work from home some days. I am pretty active so if your dog can jog, that's even better! I have a large breed dog myself and I focus my days around him to ensure that he is walked several miles, is fed properly, and has had enough play time! I will work remote when watching your dog. Pets are treated with great care when I'm watching them. I always make sure they're fed and have enough water or are given their meds if needed. I feed my dog Yeti away from other dogs and I will feed yours separate from him or others as well.

Morgan was amazing with Brody and he adored her. She is an excellent dog handler. I would not hesitate to book her again which I did and will continue to do so. I highly recommend Morgan for your fur baby. Many thanks to Morgan for taking such wonderful care of my boy !

Sunny was absolutely amazing and took to Brody immediately!!! I am so happy to have met Sunny as Brody is too lol Brody came back very satisfied with his walk with Sunny! Tired dog, happy owner!! The pictures Sunny took of Brody were stunning and so beautiful! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Sunny! Note to Sunny- thank you so very much. We look forward to more walks with you!! 💜🐕🐾🌱

Jason has watched my baby Dodger twice and it’s a stellar experience each time. He’s thoughtful, thorough and very reliable. He makes sure your pet has everything they need as well as what they can/can’t have. He brought in a package of mine too, which I really appreciated. Never disappointed with Jason, 5 stars!

I can't recommend Egle highly enough. She has been absolutely fantastic with my miniature schnauzer, Alfie. From day one, it was clear that she has a natural ability with dogs and genuinely cares about the animals she works with. One thing I particularly appreciate is that she's willing to incorporate specific training and behavioral reinforcement during walks. Whenever I've asked her to work on something with Alfie, she's been incredibly receptive and consistent, which has made a noticeable difference. It's rare to find someone who goes beyond simply walking your dog and actively helps reinforce good habits. She's also exceptionally reliable. She's always on time, communicates proactively and provides thoughtful, detailed updates after each walk. The notes and photos give me confidence that Alfie is getting great care and allow me to stay informed on how he's doing. Most importantly, Alfie absolutely loves her. It's obvious she knows how to connect with dogs, and I always feel completely comfortable knowing he's in her care. If you're looking for someone who is dependable, professional, knowledgeable and genuinely great with dogs, I would wholeheartedly recommend

Caitlin is the sweetest! Lunch had the best time on their walks. Caitlin took him to explore new areas each day and sent the cutest photo updates! She really put so much effort and thought into enriching his daily walks, and he was such a happy (and tired) guy when I got home!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
