“Sophia was absolutely wonderful. She is a fantastic walker and sitter who is punctual, communicative, and puts the dog's well-being first. When my dog was feeling anxious and refusing walks during the visits, Sophia handled it beautifully—she adapted very well, sat down to comfort my dog, and communicated with me. About: I've taken care of dogs my entire life, including puppies, seniors and hyper active dogs. I love spending time with animals of all personalities and energy levels. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playing fetch, exploring the neighborhood or simply relaxing with company, I make sure they receive the attention and care they need. I understand that every dog has their own routine, and I take the time to follow feeding schedules, walking preferences, medication instructions and any special requests to help them feel comfortable while you're away. My English bulldog has to be tucked into his bed every night, so I know a bit about high-maintenance pups haha. I'm dependable, attentive, and committed to providing a safe environment where your pet feels happy and cared for. I also believe communication is important, so I'll keep you updated with photos and messages throughout our time together. My goal is to make sure both you and your dog feel confident, comfortable, and stress-free. As a college student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate quality time to the pets in my care. I'm available for walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting throughout the week, even early mornings, late nights, and weekends. I enjoy staying active, so incorporating dog walks and playtime into my daily routine is something I genuinely look forward to. When caring for a pet, I make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise and companionship while keeping their normal routine as consistent as possible. Your pet's safety and comfort are always my top priorities. When caring for pets in a client's home, I do my best to maintain their normal routine so they feel secure and comfortable in a familiar environment. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding schedules, walks, medications, house rules and your additional requests. I pay close attention during walks and outdoor time, keeping dogs safely leashed and aware of their surroundings. I also make sure pets have access to fresh water, plenty of attention, exercise, and a clean environment. Trust is essential when someone is caring for both your pet and your home. I treat every home with respect, keep communication open and provide regular photo and video updates so you can feel confident that your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while you're away.

About: I have had dogs my whole life and have always enjoyed company of an animal. I have also helped neighbors with their dogs with feeding, walks, and accompanying them. I am capable of lifting dogs of higher weights in the case it’s necessary. I am actively looking for work as such, I can be available at any time in the day and all week long when requested to do a service. I have my own dog who gets walked an ample distance a day and play within the house. As for a potential clients animal, I would follow all given instructions and make sure the animal is well cared for during the time I am there.
About: Hello! I am Libby, lover of all dogs. I have grown up with dogs my entire life (31 years!) and having just moved from London I need some puppy love as much as it needs me! My mother in law also runs a rescue home for dogs so have plenty experience with rescue dogs too. Looking forward to meeting your lovely pups! I am available and happy to walk your pups everyday at any time! Daytime is preferred but also happy to do evenings/ overnight stays and weekends. The dogs in my care will be treated like members of the family! I provide a safe, clean, and calm environment with constant access to fresh water, comfortable resting areas, and plenty of attention. I follow each dog’s routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, exercise needs, medication requirements, and any special instructions from the owner.
“Jonathan was great with the dogs and so, so helpful. He took both my dogs for a walk (even though the drop-in was just for one), and bathed Fennec like a pro. It was the dog’s first time getting blow-dried, and he didn’t care for that part. It took both Jonathan and me to hold him and was no easy feat! Friendly, knowledgeable, great with dogs.”

“Alena was kind, very responsive & communicated throughout the trip making my mind at ease. She asked questions and went above & beyond. Highly recommend! My dog & cat loved her. Thank you Alena!”

“Wow! I am so grateful we found Birutė on Rover. She’s an absolutely amazing sitter - best we’ve ever had for our cat. So professional, responsive, observant and caring. 100/10, thank you so much Birutė!”

About: I understand and respect the animals and I’m a trained dog trainer from all the training lessons I took when my dog was a puppy. And my dog who recently passed away was a very well behaved sweet girl even though she was a diva when I just got her. I’m not ready for another dog anytime soon but at the same time I still want to have the chance to take care of dogs and cats and I’m pretty good at it :) I work from home and for myself so my schedule is pretty flexible, and I have plenty of free time which I wish I could use them on playing with your dog. Let me know what’s your dogs’s favorite game and I can also bring some toys for us to play. I can respect their boundary while give them all the attention they need

“Kellee is fantastic with my puppy Penny! She takes such great care of her, is punctual, and keeps me updated with photos and videos every visit. Kellee has only known Penny for a couple weeks but Penny already loves her. I highly recommend Kellee!”

“Amy did an amazing job taking care of my cat this weekend. It was my first time using Rover and not a friend or family member. My old man takes medicine and Amy handled everything perfectly. The pictures and drop-in summaries were thorough and very appreciated. I was able to travel and not stress that my old man wasn’t in the best of care. Thank you, Amy!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Santa Monica
This was our first time using Aimi and she did great! We have a horrible ant problem and the cats were being troublemakers while we were gone but she took it all in stride. She was also very patient and moved at their pace as they got comfortable with her which is always appreciated.

Sophia was absolutely wonderful. She is a fantastic walker and sitter who is punctual, communicative, and puts the dog's well-being first. When my dog was feeling anxious and refusing walks during the visits, Sophia handled it beautifully—she adapted very well, sat down to comfort my dog, and communicated with me. She made sure my dog was well-fed and cared for. Will be booking her again in the future!

Lili was truly a life saver when I needed someone to come check on my cat Maisie urgently. She was there within 2 minutes and was super prompt with feeding her, making sure the balcony door was closed, finding her hiding under the bed. It was an urgent situation and I couldn’t have been happier that Lili was up for the job because she went above and beyond. You MUST book for your pets too, she is an expert and great with animals!

Happy to have found Todd on here! My pup can be a bit nervous around new people. Todd took the time to stop by and introduce himself to her before the first visit, and was patient with her when she needed some more time to warm up to him during the appointment. Looking forward to having him back.

Samanta is the absolute best, and I cannot say enough good things about her. We have booked with her several times, most recently for a two-week trip out of the country. She treats our cats as if they were her own and goes above and beyond every single time. During our last trip, I accidentally didn’t leave enough cat food for the duration of our stay away. Without hesitation, Samanta made a special trip to the pet store to buy the exact food our cats eat and made sure they were completely taken care of. Knowing they were in such caring and capable hands gave us tremendous peace of mind. We would recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional pet sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Santa Monica. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
