About: I’ve been caring for animals my whole life and love working with both dogs and cats of all personalities. I grew up with three dogs—two rescues (including a foster we ended up keeping) and one puppy—and regularly handled their care, including walks, feeding, and playtime. I’ve also been pet sitting for friends, family, and neighbors since middle school, so I’m very comfortable stepping into different routines and making pets feel at ease. I’m especially experienced with cats. I raised two stray kittens growing up—one I helped bottle-feed—and in college I fostered a very shy, formerly stray cat. With patience and consistency, he became incredibly affectionate and is now my own cat who sleeps next to me every night. I pay close attention to body language and always respect each pet’s boundaries, whether they’re energetic, anxious, or need a little extra time to warm up. My goal is always to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m very responsive, reliable, and happy to send regular updates and photos so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands! I’m currently a part-time student with a very flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention and care throughout the day. I’m available most weekdays and weekends, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings. I’m available for walks and drop-in visits, and I’m happy to work around your pet’s routine. While I’m not available for overnight stays, I’m very flexible during the day and can accommodate multiple visits if needed. I’m also very responsive and happy to help with last-minute requests when possible. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always prioritize safety, routine, and making pets feel comfortable in their familiar environment. I take time to understand each pet’s needs, including feeding schedules, exercise, and any specific instructions. I’m very attentive to body language and behavior, especially with shy or anxious pets, and I always respect their boundaries. I make sure doors, gates, and harnesses are secure at all times during walks and visits. I treat every home with care and respect, and I’m happy to provide updates and photos so you can feel confident your pet is safe and well cared for.

About: I’ve regularly cared for cats, dogs, babies, toddlers, kids, etc. for nearly a decade now. I grew up with cats and dogs, but since moving to LA I don’t have my own pets and would love to help care for yours! I generally work 9-5 but am remote Mondays and Fridays and can be flexible. I live on the west side and do drive but I primarily walk and bike in my day to day! I prioritize maintaining a clean environment, ensuring that animals get adequate exercise and outdoor time. I care about helping pets maintain a healthy diet and a well-regulated nervous system.

About: I’ve had pets as long as I can remember. My last pet, my soul dog Bella, lived to be 18. We traveled the country together and I got the privilege of being her mommy from 8 weeks old to a little over 18. She has changed my life in so many ways and inspired me to help all other animals in need. I’m extremely caring, attentive and loving. I will treat your pet as if it is my own. However, I’m a bit of a spoiler when it comes to animals but I will lead in anyway that you would expect of me. I look forward to connecting with you and more importantly, your fur babies. I’m currently working 4 days a week as an Esthetician but I will always find time for my babies. My favorite time of day is when I get to be at home snuggling my pup and kitty. I always keep a close eye on my pets and keep anything potentially harmful well out of reach. I always pick up on their anxiousness or when they are not feeling well, and will go completely out of my way to make sure they’re ok!
“Alena was kind, very responsive & communicated throughout the trip making my mind at ease. She asked questions and went above & beyond. Highly recommend! My dog & cat loved her. Thank you Alena!”

“Birute has been super helpful with helping watch my cat Gabi for the past couple weeks! She was very diligent in ensuring she understood all instructions and prepared to take care of Gabi, and she was flexible with timing and visits to make sure Gabi was fed and received attention as necessary. She sent great updates, and Gabi warmed up to her super quickly, which was great to observe. Will definitely request her help again!”

About: I have over 5 years of experience dog sitting and have taken care of dogs across all breeds and sizes. I communicate very well with my clients and send frequent check ins to ensure they feel comfortable while they’re away. I work from home, so I have a very flexible schedule. I have time throughout the day to spend time with your pets and keep them busy. I am very patient and great at understanding pets needs. I would ensure they are comfortable with me in their space and send my clients frequent check ins throughout the day.
About: I’m a lifelong dog lover and proud dog mom to a German Shepherd–Pitbull mix that I’ve raised and trained since he was 8 weeks old (he’s almost 4!). Through working with him and growing up with a reactive family dog, I’ve gained hands-on experience with training structure, different tools, and handling dogs with big personalities. That said, I’m comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and personalities! While I have experience handling large and high-energy breeds, many of my friends have small dogs, so I’ve spent plenty of time around little pups as well. My goal is always to meet each dog where they are and follow the care style that makes them feel safest and most comfortable. I treat every dog like they’re my own, and I’d love to help take care of yours and make sure they feel happy, safe, and comfortable while you’re away! I recently left my 9–5 to take some time to reset and figure out what I want to do next, which means I currently have a very flexible schedule and lots of time to spend with your pup! Dogs have always been a huge part of my life (including my own), so Rover felt like the perfect way to spend this time doing something I genuinely love. I’m very active and currently training for a marathon, so I love long walks. And if your dog enjoys running, I’d be happy to have a training buddy! (Ryder, my dog, unfortunately does not share that enthusiasm.) I currently offer dog walking and drop-in visits in clients’ homes. Since I have my own dog with a structured training routine, I’m not boarding dogs at my home right now. When caring for pets in your home, I focus on keeping their routine consistent and stress-free. I genuinely love clear instructions and lists, so if your dog has specific feeding schedules, training cues, tools, or little quirks, I’m happy to follow them exactly. (Have you seen the dog on TikTok that needs to go through a TSA check before getting into bed at night?!) I’m always mindful of leash safety, surroundings, and each dog’s comfort level during walks and visits. Whether your pup needs a long walk, structured exercise, or just some attention and playtime, I’ll make sure they feel safe and well cared for.
“Sophia was absolutely wonderful. She is a fantastic walker and sitter who is punctual, communicative, and puts the dog's well-being first. When my dog was feeling anxious and refusing walks during the visits, Sophia handled it beautifully—she adapted very well, sat down to comfort my dog, and communicated with me. She made sure my dog was well-fed and cared for. Will be booking her again in the future!”

“We hired Heather for drop-in visits when a last-minute trip came up, and after our experience, I highly recommend her. Heather came right over for a meet-and-greet, and it took only seconds for her and Oliver to become best friends. In fact, when we came home from our trip, he told us that he wants to live with Mrs. Heather now. While we were gone, she provided Oliver with food (which has medications involved), cleaned his litter, played with him, brushed him, fed him treats, gave him love, and even cleaned up. Major Kudos: Oliver requires this transdermal medication applied within his ear. This is something that's difficult even for me to apply, so I sort of accepted it'd be impossible for anyone else. And yet, Heather was able to apply it—all four times. Oh, and all of the pictures she sent were like... professional. My cat looked like a model. So I mean, really, does it get better than that? Heather is a wonderful sitter, and unless Oliver chooses to move in with her, we'll be hiring her again.”

About: I grew up with dogs my whole life! Besides my own childhood dog Boo, I’ve walked and dog sat for family, friends, professors, neighbors etc. I’ve also fostered puppies before so my experience really runs the gamut in terms of age, breed, and size. I work remotely and my schedule is flexible so I’m available during the week for walks, drop-ins, and dog-sitting during work hours! Generally available from 8 am - 7 pm weekdays. Having grown up with dogs, a watchful eye is second nature. I will be extremely attentive to your pup in any setting, be it on walks or at your own home, to keep them safe and cared for.
“Alyssa has been AMAZING!!!!!! Seriously such a blessing and will definitely be hiring her again in the future!!!! Takes such good care of your pup and sends so many photos and updates!!”

“Amy is knowledgeable, kind, patient, absolutely wonderful with my pup and a wealth of knowledge about best training practices and recommendations as I navigate training my first dog! Very grateful for her time and help!”

“Jason has just be the best petsitter one could possibly asked. He has been very reliably coming to feed and play with our two cats, sent outstanding pictures (always heartwarming when you are far away from your furry friends), and great updates in a daily basis. We would definitely book Jason’s services again whenever needed. Thank you very much Jason”

“Jonathan was great with the dogs and so, so helpful. He took both my dogs for a walk (even though the drop-in was just for one), and bathed Fennec like a pro. It was the dog’s first time getting blow-dried, and he didn’t care for that part. It took both Jonathan and me to hold him and was no easy feat! Friendly, knowledgeable, great with dogs.”

“Jennifer has been great with my puppy. Very communicative and reliable, which I really appreciate. I feel comfortable knowing my puppy is being checked on and well cared for. Would recommend!”

“Michelle was truly spectacular and I would, without hestitation book her again for the future. I'm personally a very thorough and particular person and those are traits that I noticed with Michelle from the get go. She asked all the right questions upon our first meeting. While she visited, she was attentive to all of Nala's needs from her playtime, to her meals/waters, and as well as the maintenance of her litter box. I received the cutest photos from her everyday, alongside notes of how Nala was doing. We really, really appreciated all the photos and check in notes - it made us feel at complete ease while being out of state. I also have to mention, that we left our place pretty spotless and came back to zero-minimal messes/litter scattered about - really appreciated this as well! Thank you so much for everything Michelle! Nala can't wait to see you again <3”

Emilie was amazing! She sent numerous photos every night, not just of the kitties but of them eating, her playing with them and, most importantly, loving on my babies. In fact, I’m pretty sure one of my kitties was looking for the first day we were back, at the time Emilie normally came! It sure made being away from my babies as we said our final goodbye to my mother that much easier.

Riley was amazing with my cats! She was reliable, communicative, and took great care of them while I was away. My cats can be a little particular, but they were happy and well cared for when I got home. I really appreciated the updates and would definitely book Riley again. Highly recommend!

Noa was incredibly responsive, responsible and accommodating. She took loving care of our five little pups at the AirBnB we were renting while we were attending an out of town celebration. She went out of her way to come over for a meet and greet during her lunch break and gave us full confidence that she was the right person to attend to our pups’ needs and give them good love. Highly, highly recommend. 🐾
Olivia was amazing! She took great care of our young kitten and our 2-year-old cat, who isn’t always the friendliest with new people. Even our grumpy cat loved her! She sent lots of photos and updates, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We came home to two happy cats and would absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
