“Allison took great care of my 2 cats while I was away for a few days. She was attentive, reliable, and kept me updated with photos, which gave me peace of mind. My cats were happy and well cared for when I returned. I would definitely recommend Allison to anyone looking for a loving and trustworthy pet sitter!”

About: Professional Pet Care from Someone Who's Done This for 35 Years I've spent decades caring for animals—professionally at Chicago's Shedd Aquarium as a diver in the Wild Reef Exhibit and personally through friends and my own ownership. What I Offer Dog sitting (drop-in visits or overnight care) Dog walking (I also hike and can take dogs on longer walks if applicable to their health and weather permitting - not too hot!) Secure, attentive supervision—I actually know your dog, not just checking in What Makes This Different I'm new to Rover, but I'm not new to responsibility. I treat your pet like mine, I notice what matters (appetite, behavior, routine), and I follow the care plan you set. Your dog gets experienced hands and someone who shows up. We will need to meet firstly, that's how we will know it's a good fit for everyone, and it's how you know I'm serious. After that, you can book with confidence! I am currently retired so I have the time to spend with your fur baby. Also, I am an avid hiker so if that is also something you are interested in for your dogs I would be a good fit! I bring plenty of experience and water! I will only hike with pets early in the morning or afternoon if it is a hotter day. I am very considerate of their wellbeing and safety! I live in a duplex; there is a park about three blocks away that I bring the pups. If the dog is capable of off leash, after I have gotten to know them a bit and feel comfortable, they will be safe, I can take them to play catch. If not, a walk or hike is my specialty. I am extremely contentious to safety first.
“We have been booking cat sitting with Michelle a number of times over the summer and we couldn’t be happier, she’s flexible, communicative, and it’s wonderful to have someone we know can attend to them well, thank you Michelle!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for over 6 years and absolutely love being around them. I’m responsible, patient, and attentive, and I’ll make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re in my care. Pet care fits easily into my routine, and I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give your pet plenty of time and attention. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, playtime, and lots of love! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully and make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I’ll keep a close eye on them and treat them like my own.
“Alyssa was able to help us out with short notice. She was very sweet, professional and friendly so we felt completely safe and happy leaving out cat in her care. Good communication & care!”

About: I was basically raised by my family dogs— almost all protective breeds— some of which I took part in training. Unfortunately, in moving to LA, I have to prioritize my career. However, I’m still looking to form my social circle outside of the entertainment industry, and what better company to consider! Less cattiness, more dogs! I’m a freelance dancer, so almost all of my work is project-based. When on a job, rehearsals usually take place late afternoon into the evening. My schedule is also open on weekends, more-so Saturday and Sunday. I am very good at reading a dog’s body language, and responding accordingly whether I’m in or outside of what’s considered to be their territory. All visits will have to take place at the client’s home or in public settings because my apartment complex does not allow animals on the premises.
About: I love dogs -- my golden retriever, Lily, is the center of my world -- and have 6+ years of pet care experience. I would love to care for your dog(s) while you're away at work or on holiday! I work part-time from home, so I have tons of flexibility. I set my own schedule, so I'm able to pivot with last minute emergencies. Safety and trust are my top priorities. Pets are our family members, and caring for them requires the utmost consideration and communication. Please feel free to ask me any questions!
“It was a last minute booking - I recently moved to San Diego and had to go on a work trip and was nervous of leaving my fur baby. Petunia agreed to a meet and greet and I felt reassured that Zaya was in great hands! Never once did I worry about my cat! I’m so glad I found Petunia. It was my first booking with her and she exceeded all my expectations! She was very responsive, and always on time or early! Petunia even managed to get my cat to come out and hang out with her! Thank you!! ❤️”

“Maria has been doing house visits to check on our Cat while we are away and she has been amazing. Very good communication, sending pictures, cleaning after him and taking very good care of him. We certainly recommend her and will continue to work with her when we need someone to look after our pets!”

About: I've been a dog owner since I was about 7 years old. I had a husky mix growing up, a very active dog all black with a curly tail I'd walk regularly and keep active. I now have two small breed dogs. A chihuahua mix named Brownie that's just 8 lbs, rescued in 2015 and I have a Rat Terrier named Taco and he was rescued in March 2020, he's about 15 lbs. All their shots are up to date and they are neutered. I am an active runner/walker and I enjoy taking my dogs out for walks regularly/daily. I take them out for about 1 mile or more if we're going out on trails or more adventures. I've traveled with my dogs by plane and by car. I'm very comfortable with dogs! Love spending time with them. I've walked my dogs and others dogs now for years. I have a two active pups to play with should they wish but otherwise they're welcome to play and have fun how they wish. I love to let them have fun.
“Amazing as always, Jessica always makes me feel like Scarlet is having the best time. She is puncrionak, attentive, and always sends me the cutest pictures when she checks in and out which help me when I’m away for long days at work. She’s the best!!!”

“Karen was beyond beyond beyond FANTASTIC! She sent the best photo and video updates. She even came with her own bag of toys for our cat, which helped us learn more about his preferences. I am so grateful for Karen’s help as seeing her interactions with my cat is teaching me how to better care for him! I can not recommend her enough! She will be our go to sitter here on out!”

About: Hello, fur parents! 🐾❤️ My name is Ciara! I’m a caring, passionate, trustworthy, energetic, and dependable pet sitter who genuinely enjoys spending time with animals of all types. I truly believe that pets aren’t “just pets” — they’re family. I have years of animal sitting experience, so I know how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pet child in someone else’s care, and my goal is to give you that same peace of mind I would want for my own pets. I take the time to get to know your pet’s personality, routine, habits, and individual needs. Whether they’re playful and full of energy, shy and nervous, or happiest curled up beside someone. I’m happy to meet them where they are and give them the attention and patience they deserve. 🐶 What I can help with: • Daily walks and exercise • Feeding according to your pet’s schedule and instructions • Fresh food and water • Playtime and enrichment • Potty breaks • Litter box care • Giving oral medications when needed • Brushing and basic grooming • Cleaning up after your pet • Keeping your pet’s normal routine as consistent as possible • Lots of attention, companionship, cuddles, and belly rubs • Regular photo and message updates so you know how your precious baby is doing • Watching for changes in behavior, appetite, energy, or overall well-being • Giving extra patience and reassurance to anxious or nervous pets I understand that every pet is different, so I don’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach. Some pets need lots of walks and playtime, while others simply need someone calm and loving nearby. I follow your instructions carefully and do my best to make your pet feel comfortable, secure, and at home while you’re away. I’m also respectful of your home and understand that pet sitting comes with a lot of trust. I treat your space with care, keeping your home perfectly clean, follow your house and pet-care instructions, and communicate throughout the stay so you’re never left wondering how things are going. Most importantly, I genuinely enjoy being around animals. I’m not just looking to “watch a pet” — I want your pet to feel like they have a friend while you’re gone. 🥰 Whether you’re away for a few hours, a weekend, or a longer trip, you can relax knowing your pet family member(s) is receiving attentive, loving, and personalized quality care. Your pet’s happiness, safety, and comfort are my priority. And yes… I’m always happy to send plenty of cute pictures along the way. 📸🐾 Because leaving your pet behind shouldn’t mean leaving your peace of mind behind. ❤️ I’m able to structure around my pet clients’ needs and offer flexible scheduling for walks, drop-ins, extended visits, and overnight house sitting... ❤️🐶🏠🐾 Please inquire! I understand that inviting someone into your home is just as personal as trusting them with your pets. I treat every home with the same care, respect, and attention to detail that I would want for my own. * Keep your home clean, comfortable, and cared for throughout your stay * Bring in mail, packages, and deliveries so they’re safely inside * Water plants according to your preferences and schedule * Take trash and recycling out and bring bins back in * Adjust lights, curtains, and blinds to help your home feel occupied and secure * Keep commonly used areas neat and tidy during my stay * Keep pet areas, food stations, litter boxes, and supplies clean and organized * Check that doors and windows are secure and remain mindful of the overall safety of your home * Follow your specific household routines and instructions carefully * Coordinate with pre-approved maintenance, cleaning, or service professionals when needed * Treat your belongings, personal space, and privacy with the utmost respect and discretion * Leave your home clean, orderly, and cared for so you can return feeling comfortable and relaxed My goal is simple: while you’re away, your pets are cared for, your home is looked after, and you have one less thing to worry about. 🏡🐾❤️
“SLOANE IS THE BEST! My dog Luna absolutely adores her, she gets so excited when she walks through the door. Sloane is not only an animal lover, but she truly understands dogs and can handle my very strong 85 pound pitbull mix, I trust Sloane 100% with my dog (who can be a bit reactive) on walks. Sloane took time to understand my dog and it shows. 10/10 would book Sloane again and again.”

About: Hi! I’m Dominoe! I currently have a 3 year old cavapoo pup of my own so I know how important it is to take care of a furry friend ❤️ I would love to walk our pups together (or separate if your dog does not do well with other dogs! Totally fine by me!) Safety, fun and lots of belly rubs are always my top priorities! I’ll make sure they come back happy, healthy, and wagging their tail. I’m dependable, communicative, and treat every dog as if they were my own. Can’t wait to meet your dog and make their day extra special! 🐾 I work full time but don’t have any set hours. I work from home most days so really any time your dog needs me I can make myself available! If you’re caught up at work, I can step in! Or you’re just tired from a long day, I’ll stop by and make sure your dog gets the exercise they need before the day is over! I am very communicative - so I will keep in contact with you if there are any schedule changes on my end. I provide safe, reliable and fun walks in dog-friendly environments. I will prioritize your pup’s safety, happiness and comfort, making sure every walk is enjoyable and tailored to their energy and personality.

Second time booking Stefano and he was just as great as the first. Goose and Ducky are shy cats who normally hide from anyone new, but they clearly remembered him and settled in fast. He kept up the daily photos and updates while I was in Texas with family, which made the whole trip easier. Everything was tidy when I got home and both cats were happy and well fed. If you have shy or anxious cats, book him. We’ll keep doing it.

Mariana is amazing. She went above and beyond to help my cats, one who had just had surgery. I felt like they were in the best care possible. She gave the most detailed updates and sent so many pictures which made me feel so confident that the kitties were okay. Plus she genuinely gave them so much loving.

We were so worried when we found out our friend would not be able to help us watch our little kitty while we were out of town for the week. We scrambled and hopped on Rover and found Carolin. She not only was able to help us on short notice but she patiently gained the trust of our shy little girl. We really appreciate Carolin’s help and will definitely use her in future adventures knowing our cat was is good hands.
Catherine was a fantastic cat-sitter! I needed a week's worth of last minute drop in visits and she replied to me immediately. She was so friendly, thorough, and prompt with replies, and most importantly, my baby loved her. She was super attentive to my instructions and I was so grateful she was able to accommodate a day-of-travel delay and add on another drop-in visit. Highly recommend her and would not hesitate to book with her again.

Sloane was reliable, communicative, and someone we could absolutely count on to check in on our Winnie girl! She took great care of her while we were out for the afternoon and made sure she was happy and had everything she needed. Will be booking with Sloane again 😊

Hi Lindsey! Thank you so much again for taking such wonderful care of our doggies. 🐾❤️ I’m so grateful we found you! You were dependable, right on time as promised, trustworthy, and truly made me feel at ease knowing they were in good hands. You were absolutely perfect! The doggies clearly enjoyed having you too, and if we ever need a sitter again, you will definitely be my first choice. Thank you for everything, and I hope to see you again soon! Best, Stormey R.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
