“Mariah had a quick response to my last minute need for a sitter to watch my dog with IVDD. She was timely, clear, and soooo loving to my Oslo. She gave him the comfort I so wanted him to feel and am so grateful she worked with my schedule! Will be booking again!!”

“Christian took amazing care of my cat DMX and my frogs over the long weekend, and I couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter. He was always on time, very attentive, and made sure everyone was comfortable, fed, and well cared for. It was obvious that he genuinely cared about my pets and paid close attention to their routines and needs. DMX absolutely loved him, which is not something I say lightly, and it gave me a lot of peace of mind while I was away. He also kept me updated and was very dependable throughout the entire stay. I came home to happy, relaxed pets and everything in perfect shape. I would absolutely trust Christian again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and caring pet sitter. Definitely a 5-star experience!”

“Maria has been doing house visits to check on our Cat while we are away and she has been amazing. Very good communication, sending pictures, cleaning after him and taking very good care of him. We certainly recommend her and will continue to work with her when we need someone to look after our pets!”

“Caitlin is awesome! She took such great care of our 2 kitties while we were away and we loved that she provided daily updates and photos to let us know how they were doing.”

My cats were happy and well cared for when I returned. I would definitely recommend Allison to anyone looking for a loving and trustworthy pet sitter!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs professionally for 7 years. Active animal shelter volunteer. Dog sitter Extraordinaire! Haha, I do take instruction very well. And always leave with customers satisfied. Pet care is very flexible. I never am away for more than 4 hrs. I’m an early riser, and very active. I’m extremely patient and gentle with my service I don’t break away from the routine that is layered out. I’ve pet sat dogs of all ages. Some with medical conditions. Very good at administering medication. A dogs routine is important and keeping them stimulated while their family is away. I never shy from calling/asking questions when needed. And I never force my energy into an animal. Very big on listening and earning the pets respect. Making the pet sitting experience fun and unstressed for the animal.
“Matt was incredibly thoughtful and thorough with his notes and pictures each day! This is my first time using rover or a sitter of any kind and I was very impressed! Matt even reported on my cat's behavior each day, so I knew how well he was adjusting to something new! Really gave me some peace of mind!”

About: I was basically raised by my family dogs— almost all protective breeds— some of which I took part in training. Unfortunately, in moving to LA, I have to prioritize my career. However, I’m still looking to form my social circle outside of the entertainment industry, and what better company to consider! Less cattiness, more dogs! I’m a freelance dancer, so almost all of my work is project-based. When on a job, rehearsals usually take place late afternoon into the evening. My schedule is also open on weekends, more-so Saturday and Sunday. I am very good at reading a dog’s body language, and responding accordingly whether I’m in or outside of what’s considered to be their territory. All visits will have to take place at the client’s home or in public settings because my apartment complex does not allow animals on the premises.
“Julia is great! She was super communicative, made my anxious cat feel as comfortable as possible, and even took out my recycling on her way out. Would definitely book with her again!”

“This was my first time leaving my cat home alone/using Rover, and Stella quickly alleviated any concerns I had. She was great with communication, and really went above and beyond overall. And I think my cat enjoyed playing games (and winning) with her. I would not hesitate to book Stella again.”

“Michelle was great, communicative, flexible, reported back on the kitties so we were well in the loop the entire time we were away. Will absolutely rebook with her the next time we go away. Thank you Michelle!!”

“Allie was wonderful coming over and finding my difficult cat. we have dogs and cat and we had Allie come over and administer medicine to our cat. She was awesome and we will definantly be using her in the future. Thank you so much for your awesome a service.”

“Colleen is such a wonderful addition to my rescue pup’s life. He is timid and hesitant around new people, but with her warmth, patience, and skills, Colleen has helped my pup blossom into such a happy boy. She is so wonderful and I imagine I speak for all her clients when saying her dedication, detailed daily walking/potty reports, and general love for dogs cannot be matched. I recommend her services to anyone who’d want only the very best for their furry friend. Marty & I are so happy (and grateful!) you’ve come into our lives!”

“If I could give Lorinda a million stars I would. As an anxious cat mom my mind was completely at ease with Lorinda’s in depth updates, kindness, professionalism and respect for my home. I returned to two very happy, relaxed kitties. Could not be more thankful!”

Mimi took terrific care of my cat Daisy. In less than a week she was able to pet and brush this formerly feral cat! It really improved my vacation to heed her update and even videos. I would recommend her to anyone for pet sitting without the slightest hesitation.

Hi Lindsey! Thank you so much again for taking such wonderful care of our doggies. 🐾❤️ I’m so grateful we found you! You were dependable, right on time as promised, trustworthy, and truly made me feel at ease knowing they were in good hands. You were absolutely perfect! The doggies clearly enjoyed having you too, and if we ever need a sitter again, you will definitely be my first choice. Thank you for everything, and I hope to see you again soon! Best, Stormey R.

Wendy is awesome as per usual! She has helped me out with Benji multiple times, with the longest sit being for 16 days and I came back to a very happy cat. She is very communicative and sends pictures every time she dropped in. I would definitely keep rebooking with her :)

Alejandro did a great job taking care of my dogs while I was away. He was professional, followed all of my instructions, and was very communicative throughout the entire trip. He sent plenty of photos and updates and always let me know when he was going to stop by to check on them. I felt completely comfortable having him take care of my dogs and never had to worry about how they were doing while I was gone. I really appreciated how reliable and attentive he was, and I would definitely recommend him!

Tasha was absolutely wonderful, and I’m incredibly grateful to her. I had an unexpected family emergency that required me to fly to Australia on very short notice, and she stepped in at the last minute to take care of my cats Pancake and Waffles while I was away. I felt like I could trust her from the moment we met, and she completely lived up to that impression. She sent me thoughtful, detailed updates every day, along with plenty of photos and videos, which was especially reassuring while I was so far from home. She always stayed for the full visit and often longer, and even Pancake, who can be pretty standoffish with new people, warmed up to her surprisingly quickly. Tasha also went above and beyond in lots of little ways: she picked up my mail, kept an eye on the cats’ supplies and let me know when I needed to order more, and was even kind enough to remove an extra day from the booking when I realized I would be returning a day earlier than expected. She was dependable and genuinely caring throughout a very stressful period. Pancake, Waffles, and I are all very grateful to her, and I would absolutely book with her again.

I’ve trusted Jenn with my doodle, and I truly couldn’t recommend her more! Doodles are full of energy, need lots of attention, and can be a handful at times, but Jenn is incredibly patient, loving, and attentive. She treated my dog like one of her own, and I had complete peace of mind knowing my pup was in such great hands. She kept me updated, was reliable, and went above and beyond to make sure my doodle was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy who genuinely loves animals, Jenn is an amazing choice. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again!
Sara was amazing with our baby. She truly understands cats and their nature. She took time to be patient with him and to not stress him. She is indeed a cat whisperer! We were out of the country for a week and came home to a very calm and happy kitty. I highly recommend Sara for her gentle nature, but also for her professionalism. Truly an amazing person and will be retaining her services going forward. I now feel comfortable hitting the road again and not worrying about our kitty. He is definitely in very safe hands with Sara.
I found the perfect person for Golden while I was away. Kelly was very responsive and sent photos that not only showed me how he was doing, but also reassured me that all of his instructions were being followed. She is genuinely kind and loving with animals and understands how important it is to know your pet is safe and cared for when you’re away. I felt very comfortable having Golden in her care and would definitely book with her again.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
