On my way to the cul-de-sac mailbox, it jumped the fence and slammed my head onto the concrete. Scalp split open, I ran home screaming. From then on, dogs terrified me. I hid behind my mum around dogs bigger than me…and at the time, every dog was. I declared myself a cat person, and that was that. Then YouTube appeared. The algorithm’s “infinite wisdom” served up a video of Cesar Millan transforming a “mean” dog into a “nice” one in five minutes. Were all dogs really this easy to understand? If I could do what Cesar did, if I could master dog training, maybe they wouldn't scare me anymore? It became an obsession. I watched thousands of his videos. Before/after. Wild/controlled. Chaos/manageable. Scary/incredibly cute. But watching dogs on a screen was a different beast than working with them in real life. My great aunt in Cape Town, South Africa, gave me my first round of exposure therapy when she took me to a Great Dane farm. Dozens of giant dogs loomed around me. She held my hand the whole time and introduced me to every. single. one. I can do this. I can do this. She has since passed, but being around dogs reconnects me to her memory. Valeriya kept my four big dogs for five days and she did an amazing job! My dogs range from age 3 1/2 to 14 years old. Each dog has a very different personality and Valeriya handled each one perfectly. There were eye drops and various medication that two of the dogs needed multiple times a day. She understood and kept them healthy and safe. I would highly recommend Valeriya to take care of your dogs. She also loves kitties. Two of my dogs followed Valeriya around all day.
