“Lilly and Ryan were wonderful! I feel so lucky to have found them. They live in my apartment complex, which made everything so convenient, and they took great care of my little Millie. It gave me such peace of mind knowing she was in good hands. I’m so grateful for their help and will definitely be booking with them again. Thank you both! ❤️❤️❤️”

“Toffee had such a great time with Evie! He went on a nice beach walk and she kept me updated throughout the day with lots of fun photos. She even gave Toffee a bath so he was all nice and clean for pickup.”

“Francesca was great! She agreed to meet up prior to the booking to meet Mochi. She had experience with stubborn corgis prior so I felt confident that she would know how to take care of my reactive stubborn special corgi 🩷 she was quick to respond and very sweet to my boy 🩵”

“We always feel very comfortable when Flora is staying with Melinda. Flora can be a little nervous meeting new people and being somewhere new, but Melinda has been fantastic and is great at communicating updates and keeping Flora active and comfortable.”

“Beste was absolutely wonderful. She was very responsive to messages and sent us updates and photos (and a video) of Griffey throughout the day. You can tell she really loves dogs and cares for them. Looking forward to using her services again.”

“I am always nervous about leaving my dog with a new sitter, he’s a Maltese and quite an anxious pup by nature but Amir and Steph were wonderful with him. They kept me updated through the day and sent some cute photos. I came back to a happy, relaxed (ish), sleepy dog who had obviously enjoyed himself - I couldn’t ask for more. If I need more dog sitting I’ll definitely be in asking them.”

“Lizzo had a great time at daycare with Sarah & Karl. Got a great walk and lots of playtime. Great communication and kept me up to date! Thank you ?”

“Brittany is more than just a sitter—she’s an angel! Her love and care for Ramón were truly special. Ramón was adopted not too long ago and still struggles with anxiety when it comes to socializing. With Brittany, he was able to relax and trust her. It was truly impressive how she won him over. I wholeheartedly recommend her services! We couldn’t have found a more incredible professional to care for our pet. Thank you so much, Brittany!”

“Fran is excellent and took great care of my injured dog for the day. She is communicative, sent plenty of pictures, and made sure Buddy was comfortable, got some rest, and stayed happy. She has a fenced backyard which was great for Buddy to sunbathe and hang out in.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Playa del Rey
Ada was literally so flexible with our timing and such a great communicator. She responded so fast to my questions and worked with me for a last minute daycare for my dog Otto. She absolutely saved our butts and it looks like Otto had a great time too. Thanks Ada!

Liliana was so proactively communicative throughout the whole day sending photos and updates of how Waldo was doing. She even took him to the beach! She also was flexible patient and understanding when we were running around 5-10 minutes late to pick Waldo up. Would definitely use Liliana again!

Our dogs loved Maxine! She was so great with them- taking them on multiple walks on the beach and paying special attention to our instructions and routine. She was also available on short notice which we were so thankful for! Multiple updates and pictures throughout the day and always responded quickly. We will definitely use Max again!! 🫶🏻

We can't say enough wonderful things about Chia and Jeremy! They took exceptional care of Kaahya and treated her like one of their own. Throughout the day, they made sure she got plenty of pee and poo breaks, took her on a long walk, and even brought her along on adventures to the beach and a coffee shop. It was clear that they genuinely cared about making her experience fun, enriching, and full of attention. One of the things we appreciated most was the constant communication. Chia sent us lots of photos and updates, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Seeing Kaahya happy, relaxed, and enjoying herself made all the difference. When we picked her up, she was content, well-exercised, and clearly had been showered with love and care. It's not easy leaving your fur-baby with someone else, but Chia & Jeremy made the entire experience effortless and reassuring. We would trust them with Kaahya again in a heartbeat and wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for kind, attentive, reliable pet sitters. Thank you both for going above and beyond—we know Kaahya had an amazing time with you!

Our dog Tyson took an immediate liking to Yunqiao, who wisely suggested that we begin the session by all of us taking a short walk together. When it came time for Yunqiao and Tyson to “peel off,” Tyson gave us a brief backward glance and went willingly with Yunqiao, even though he normally suffers from separation anxiety. During the two days of “doggie daycare,” Yunqiao gave us frequent updates and sent photos and even a video of Tyson, commenting that he was “perfect” and peaceful. This was our first time using Rover.com and also the first time to leave Tyson with a stranger. Yunqiao gave us a helpful orientation to Rover.com. All communications from Yunqiao were clear, precise and cordial; and she was very good about soliciting key information she needed about Tyson to give him the best care. Yunqiao and Rover.com definitely exceeded our expectations. We are very much hoping that we will have the opportunity for Tyson to have more doggie daycare dates with Yunqiao.

Pamela is an exceptional dog sitter. She is caring, conscientious, and truly thinks of everything to make sure your dog is happy, safe, and well cared for. While Johnny stayed with her, she took him on long walks, outings to the park, and gave him plenty of attention and exercise. Her backyard is perfect for dogs, providing a safe and enjoyable space for them to play and explore. Most importantly, Pamela treated Johnny like one of her own, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. I highly recommend Pamela to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and loving dog sitter. Johnny came home happy, healthy, and clearly well cared for!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
