“Amy was fantastic! We highly recommend. Our 2 cats loved her. Amy was responsible, diligent and clear about notes, and often went the extra mile to keep our cats happy, healthy and their environment in great shape! I would recommend Amy to anyone looking for a great cat sitter, who clearly is very passionate about the well-being and happiness of your pets when you’re away. They were in great hands with Amy. Thanks again!”

“Barbara did an amazing job taking care of my pets. She arrived on time, sent me cute photos of the pets, and did everything I asked to be done. I will definitely be booking her again in the future!”

“Tara took such good care of my cats when I was gone!!!! I'd never been away from them for this long, but she kept me at ease. This was my first time using Rover but from beginning to end she was suuuuuuper helpful and informative and made my vacation super stress free. My cats clearly fell in love with her while I was away and the daily report cards brought me such joy. Will definitely reach out again in the future this was a 12/10 experience.”

About: I've taken care of people's pets since I was in high school. We recently lost our dog, so we miss having an animal around and would love to care for your pet as if they were our own. I am a teacher and have the summer off and long breaks throughout the year, in which I have plenty of time to care for your pet. I love to walk, so I'd love to take your dog with me. I have a small patio where pets can get some fresh air and watch the birds and squirrels throughout the day.
About: Moving to LA meant leaving my family dogs back home. Missing my four-legged besties led me to the world of pet sitting. My experience ranges from caring for Golden Retrievers to Bengal cats. With love and respect at the forefront, I take care of every pet as if it is one of my own. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine since I work from home and have a very flexible schedule. I’m able to plan my day around the pets in my care, whether that means sticking to specific feeding times, playtime, walks, or just being present for companionship. Because of this flexibility, I’m more than willing to adjust and mold my schedule to meet each owner’s specific needs and ensure their pet’s routine stays consistent and stress-free. I focus on creating a comfortable, stress-free experience by sticking closely to each pet’s normal routine. I follow all care instructions carefully so pets feel secure and at ease. In my home, I provide a clean, safe, and calm environment with plenty of attention, affection, and enrichment. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space and aim to keep everything consistent for the pet, which helps reduce anxiety while their owner is away. On top of that, I also pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and needs, making adjustments as needed and ensuring they’re happy and comfortable. Communication is important to me, so I provide regular updates and photos for peace of mind.
“Maria and Ben took such amazing care of Aspen. This was our first time using rover because it’s been so hard finding someone we trust with our baby and they went above and beyond. We got constant updates and it was so comforting to know she was being loved and having the best time without us.”

“Alyssa was great with my two cats, she even made my more timid cat at ease and comfortable. She kept me updated with lots of pics and a detailed report! I will be booking again :)”

“Sarah was great! You can tell she absolutely adores animals, she fell in love with my babies and even one of mine that can be skid-dish with new people really seemed to enjoy her too! My kitties can be particular about a couple of things and tend to get into things they shouldn’t, and Sarah did everything I asked. What I appreciated the most (outside of her care of my kitties of course) was that she kept my space clean and kept everything exactly as I had left it—something that is really important to me. Sarah respects your space, will love on your babies as if they are her own and handles your instructions thoroughly. So thankful for her, I would absolutely recommend! :)”

About: I have extensive pet care experience through fostering shelter dogs, which has given me hands-on experience with dogs of all ages, breeds, and personalities. From energetic puppies to senior dogs, I’m comfortable adapting care to each dog’s unique needs. Fostering has taught me patience, consistency, and how to build trust with dogs who may be anxious, shy, or adjusting to new environments. I’m experienced with basic training reinforcement, daily exercise, feeding routines, and providing calm, attentive care to help dogs feel safe and supported. I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility and time to focus on pet care. I’m available for boarding on weekends and for walks, drop-ins, or sitting on weekdays after 2pm. I have two dogs and a cat of my own, so pet care is already a big part of my daily routine, allowing me to give pets plenty of attention, playtime, and consistent care. I prioritize safety, trust, and comfort in both my home and my clients’ homes. I follow all care instructions closely, supervise interactions carefully, and pay close attention to behavior cues to ensure every pet feels secure, respected, and well cared for.
“Theresa was wonderful! She sent photo’s and videos of Loki each time she would visit (twice a day) which helped ease our anxiety of leaving him for the first time since rescuing him back in February. Thank you for taking such good care of Loki!!”

About: I've been a Mom of 3 furry dog tails (2 small street dogs and 1 husky) when i was 18yo till 21yo, at the age of 25 I become a Mom for adopted rescue boy of jack russell and rat terrier mix for lovely 4.5 years; during that time occasionally I would take care of my friend Husky at my house, and another friends Cats at their households. I love being around furry friends, play with them, take them on a very very long walks. My schedule is very flexible. I work at coffee shop 6 hours shifts; usually from 8AM till 2PM, rarely from 2PM till 7PM in Playa del Rey. I'm an early morning bird, so waking up around 6AM it's my normal. At doggies household my first priority is to follow the set of rules and guidance from owners. Walks, food at scheduled time. Making sure that pet is comfy, have enough attention and affection.
“Emily was so sweet with our pets and I’d absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter. She stopped in to check on our cats a few times when we were out of town and also took our dog out potty once he was dropped off. Detailed updates and lots of photos with our pets looking so happy to hang out with her. Thank you again, Emily!”

“So grateful for Brianna checking in on my kitty while I was out of town! My friend last minute wasn’t able to do check-ins and Brianna was so quick to respond and accept on short notice! She checked in during her visits and sent pictures even if my cat was hiding. She went above and beyond with resetting my Furbo so I could see my cat during my trip too. Would absolutely recommend her for any of your cat sitting needs and will absolutely be rebooking with her for future long trips!”

About: Since I was very small, I’ve cared for a menagerie of animals, including cats and dogs, reptiles and small critters, even horses and goats. I’ve had a number of special needs animals of my own, and am very well-acquainted with administering medication and accommodating special needs. After recently losing my elderly dog for whom I had been managing severe epilepsy, and my elderly cat to cancer, I’m used to providing near constant care and love, and now find myself with time on my hands and love to spare. I deeply understand the stress of leaving your pet in a stranger’s care, and I’ll make sure you can see that your pet is safe with me. I live at the beach on a great trail network with walkable parks to give your dogs a taste of vacation, whatever their preference, and have a deck in the trees with large floor to ceiling windows full of birds and squirrels to keep your cats entertained. I work full time from home with a very flexible schedule. Until recently I was caring for an elderly dog with severe epilepsy that required 3x daily medication, and an elderly cat with cancer who required feeding every couple of hours, so I’m accustomed to my days centering around animals’ schedules. Living at the beach means I take walk breaks throughout the day, and I appreciate that animals give me a ready excuse to step away from my computer. I have a deck in the trees that’s great for sunbathing and creature watching, and am 50 yards from the beach and it’s path, as well as a large local park and trail network along the wetlands. I work in the main space of my home, so it’s easy for me to have eyes on your pet at all times. Wherever they are in terms of their needs, I’m happy to meet them there!

“This is probably the 5th or 6th (or even more?) time Deb has taken care of our babies, and she always does a wonderful job. We're so thankful that she's there to take care of them when we have to be away, and she's always very communicative and helpful. The girls love having her come, I'm sure they can't wait for our next trip so Deb can take care of them again!”

“Olivia and Lucas were so great with our cat and provided great updates and videos during check ins. I will definitely be reaching out to them the next time we go out of town!!”

About: With over 15 years of experience in dog walking and personalized pet sitting, I’ve cared for dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages and temperaments. I’ve also fostered more than 35 puppies and dogs for rescue organizations, in addition to my own pets, helping them grow into confident social companions so that they can find their home. In addition, I bring over 11 years of dog training experience, allowing me to work confidently with shy, high-energy and/or behaviorally unique pups. I understand that every dog is different and I tailor my training to meet each one’s individual needs. Your dog’s safety, comfort and happiness are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each dog’s unique personality, routine and needs - whether that means high-energy playtime, structured walks or a slower, more relaxed pace for shy and/or senior pups. I always move at their comfort level, respect boundaries, and use positive, gentle handling to create a safe and stress-free experience. During every visit, I make sure your dog receives attentive care, companionship, and plenty of enrichment. I’m happy to follow specific feeding routines, administer basic medications, reinforce training cues, and keep their environment clean and secure. With my background in photography, you’ll receive high-quality photo and video updates after each visit - so you can feel connected, reassured and confident that your dog is happy and well cared for while you’re away. I currently work from home, which gives me plenty of flexibility to provide your pets with the time, attention and care they deserve. We have access to two fenced-in dog parks within my complex, providing a safe and fun space for exercise and play. I also have a friendly 5 year old spayed female dog, up-to-date with vaccines, who gets along great with both dogs and cats - she loves having company, whether it’s for playtime or just relaxing at home watching TV.

Kirstin was communicative and did a lot to reassure me that my cat was in safe hands. She was attentive and communicative, and also helped me discover my cat loves watching TV 🤣 Thank you for helping me take care of Bagheera while I was away, and I hope he gets to see you again.

Once again, Lauren saves the day! I was able to book her services last minute and she did a great job taking care of my two cats. She’s really kind and loving toward the cats, and very thorough with her care and communication. I felt at ease while I was out of town knowing that Lauren was looking after my cats. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Playa del Rey. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
