“Melanie looked after my two girls while I was away for an extended period. She was super thorough taking time to meet the cats and making notes beforehand. While I was away Melanie was consistent in visiting the girls and making sure they got their dose of affection and interaction. She was very communicative, which was comforting being away from them for so long. I came back to two very happy cats! Thank you Melanie. ??”

“Anya was absolutely fantastic with our two kitties!!! She sent detailed updates each day with photos, and was super responsive throughout our correspondence. Could not recommend her more highly—we’ll be using you again and again Anya!”

“Yuliia was fantastic. As someone who works very long hours, I needed someone to check in on my very social cat during the day. Yuliia was so kind to him, sent me the best photos and videos, played with him, and gave him company while he ate. I could tell he liked having her there. I know will ask Yuliia for her help again!”

“Victoria took such good care of my kitties while I was away! I’ve used a lot of pet sitters and she is especially responsive. She also pays attention to the little details which I appreciate. Will definitely use her services again!”

“Jane is always a fantastic communicator! This past time our cat had recently had dental surgery so we had extra requests and each time Jane made sure to keep us updated on everything, taking extra care to spend time with Marshall. Could not ask for better care while we were away.”

“Molly is absolutely wonderful. One of my dogs is very nervous around new people and will just bark at them. Molly came in and squatted on the ground to get to her level and let her just sniff. She warmed up to Molly very quickly. Both my dogs are very happy to see her. Her communication is great and she responds right away. I’m very high anxiety about leaving my dogs and she makes me feel really comfortable which I am so grateful for. She is a true animal lover.”

About: I’ve been around and lived with animals since I was born. I’ve never spent a period of my life without a dog in my care. I also have extensive experience caring for cats as well. I take not just the love and care of animals seriously but also training. I believe that a pet deserves to feel secure, safe and structured in life and that’s why I’m not just there to provide pets and food but also structured walks, mental stimulation and more. I have a Shetland sheepdog, so I understand the value in being more than just a caregiver to an animal. I work from home so I have the flexibility to stop by and walk your pet or care for them throughout the day. I also am done with work at 2 pm every day so my afternoons and evenings are very open. I have my own dog so I can’t spend every moment with your pet or at your house but I am able to be there consistently. I know first-hand just how scary it can be to leave your pet (your baby!) with someone else because of my unyielding love for animals and my personal attachment to the importance of being reliable, communicative and kind to pets in my care, you will never have to worry that your baby is in safe hands. I care for pets but not only being reliable and caring when it comes to affection, feeding and more but I try to be very structured with my care depending on the pet. For many dogs, that looks like walks every few hours, offering brain games like puzzles and trick training and setting them up for a relaxed and calm environment when they return home.
“We have a fearful senior rescue dog with a complicated history, and Liz has been great about doing an initial meet-and-great and then an extended drop-in to spend time with our dog alone. She very much understands how to interact with a fearful dog who needs time to feel trusting. Her experience as the guardian of a rescue dog herself definitely comes into play. She was punctual, cheerful, and generous-minded, and we really appreciate her willingness to work with Penny! We will definitely use her again.”

“Meng did an amazing job taking care of our two cats. Not only did they follow all the instructions and adjust the house temperature during the unexpectedly hot days, but they also spent time playing with them and lured them out to make sure they were okay. Thank you so much”

“Great sitters! They took wonderful care of our dog and even spent more time with him in the afternoon and took him on long walks. Would 100% recommend and will book again in the future.”

“Talia was so amazing with my dog. During her drop-in visit, she was super communicative and sent plenty of updates and photos which I really appreciated. It was so nice to see how happy and comfortable my dog was with her. My dog clearly adored her and was happy and relaxed when I got home. I’d trust Talia to watch my dog anytime and I'll definitely be booking with her again!”

“I’m so glad Gabriella was available! Prince absolutely loved her. She understood everything he needed and she was so warm from the start. Really happy to have her!”

“Laura is amazing! She stepped in super last minute to take care of my boy when my friend flaked on me WHILE I was out of town. Laura is kind, trustworthy, and very patient. My dog is a bit on the shyer side and she seemed to know exactly what to do on how to gain his trust based on intuition and experience. I can’t recommend her enough and will be hiring her in the future. Thank you again, Laura! 🩷✨”

About: I grew up with four dachshunds and one cat who all lived long and happy lives! I was the neighborhood pet watcher and cared for golden retrievers, Bernese mountain dogs, golden doodles, labs and more! I currently have two cats of my own - Otis and Pippa - who are essentially my whole life. As soon as I have more space, another dog is on my checklist. I work remote and my hours are EST so I am up very early and have an extremely flexible schedule. This also means I’m done with work at 3pm and have all afternoon to care for your pet! Pets are our best friends and that’s how I treat not only my own, but others’ as well. I recognize that stimulation is often needed and love to play, give some scratches and pets, and let them cuddle with me. That said, every animal is different and I most importantly will respect any and all notes provided to me from the owners, and will reach out if I have any questions or concerns!
“Kiyah was EXCELLENT. She was great handling all four of our pups and was communicative, on time and great to work with. We highly recommend her and will definitely work with her again.”

“Jimmy took a great care of our furry babies. It was our first time using Rover so we were a little bit anxious... For no reason. He did great job, our cats were in the good hands. We will be booking him for future! Thank you, Jimmy 🐈⬛ 🐈”

“Sarah is great. She is professional and organized and she has a great personality. And when she does the check-ins with my babies, she sends updates & pics. I highly recommend her.”
“Michaela came over on extremely short notice and took care of my pup when I had to deal with a family emergency. Super flexible when timing changed and took excellent care of Ernie. It was a relief to know all was ok at home while dealing with a stressful situation.”

Mutsumi truly is an exceptional cat sitter. She is so thorough and thoughtful when it comes to checking on our cats. Not only does she take amazing photos of the cats themselves, but she also takes photos of their prepared food and the condition of the litter box each visit - I didn’t once need to ask her to check on something because she checks everything every time. I trust her completely!

Betteena is the best!! She loves your kitty like her own. She’s incredibly responsible, reliable, communicative, and goes above and beyond to make sure they’re happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I always feel at ease knowing my cat is with her. She pays attention to the little things and genuinely gets to know their personality and needs. I can’t recommend her enough! Anyone would be so lucky to have Betteena caring for their fur babies!

Anya was fantastic with the girls. She took super cute photos of them each visit, they looked so happy with their playtime and snacks! Anya was also great with instructions we had - even when we updated it mid trip, she was able to accommodate our requests. Great communicator and made our trip so much easier

Tasha was absolutely wonderful, and I’m incredibly grateful to her. I had an unexpected family emergency that required me to fly to Australia on very short notice, and she stepped in at the last minute to take care of my cats Pancake and Waffles while I was away. I felt like I could trust her from the moment we met, and she completely lived up to that impression. She sent me thoughtful, detailed updates every day, along with plenty of photos and videos, which was especially reassuring while I was so far from home. She always stayed for the full visit and often longer, and even Pancake, who can be pretty standoffish with new people, warmed up to her surprisingly quickly. Tasha also went above and beyond in lots of little ways: she picked up my mail, kept an eye on the cats’ supplies and let me know when I needed to order more, and was even kind enough to remove an extra day from the booking when I realized I would be returning a day earlier than expected. She was dependable and genuinely caring throughout a very stressful period. Pancake, Waffles, and I are all very grateful to her, and I would absolutely book with her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
