“My pup had a lovely time with Nancy and her pack of 3 small dogs! We did a thorough Meet & Greet, introducing the dogs on a brief walk, seeing her home, and going through my dog’s routine and preferences. On the first day of dog sitting, Nancy sent me regular updates of everyone going on plenty of walks and getting along. I appreciated Nancy’s dedication as a dog lover and the thoughtful questions she asked to make my pup comfortable in her home 💜”

“Jose and his family were so kind and patient with this energetic pup. They gave him lots of walks, let him hang out and sunbathe outside, and played with him to keep him stimulated. Oakley came home a happy boy. Les recomiendo a José con su perrito. 🩷”

About: Trusting someone with your family member is an important decision. My #1 priority is to make sure you and your pet are relaxed and at ease. I am a great communicator and have excellent relationships with my clients, so that I can always stay on top of your pets needs. I am also experienced with puppies, (especially Corgis and Goldens) as well as elderly pets. I would love the opportunity to meet you and your pet to see if I am a good fit. I have full availability - mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends. I have some regular clients but I am also good in a pinch and can usually accommodate last minute requests. As mentioned, I will treat your pet like I would my own, always making sure that they are well taken care of -- I can provide a relaxed atmosphere or engage in play time. Everything is personalized to your pets needs. I also board/pet sit small to medium dogs and cats in my home - day care, overnights or vacations.
“Amazing care for our two pups!! Elena was super responsive and understanding, even for our last-minute request. We needed doggy day care while we visited Universal Studios, as our hotel didn’t allow dogs to be left unattended in the room. We road-tripped down from Seattle (with our 2 dogs & 2 kiddos) and camped along the way, which left us a little frazzled and haggard... Elena was very empathetic and caring, despite my lack of proper research, planning, and punctuality.. lol Probably should’ve looked into things a bit more in-depth about the hotel pet policy beforehand, but I am incredibly grateful that Elena was able to take the pups while we visited the parks for a couple days. She was very tolerant, observant, and nurturing with our two pets, and I think they had a great time… even though they aren’t the best-trained dogs. We have a 4-year-old sassy chihuahua-heeler mix, and a 1.25-year-old Malinois-cattle dog mix. They are sweet girls, but have a strange dynamic. Elena took them in stride and handled them with care, as if they were her own. 10/10!! Couldn’t have asked for a better pet-sitter in our time of need. Thank you so much, Elena!!”

“Jodie was welcoming of Kona and me. She has a lovely house and a large, beautiful back yard. This was Kona's first doggie day care, so she was nervous. Jodie sent pictures throughout the day and Kona seemed to be having a great time.”

“Rita is definitely a great pet sitter! My little minpin just loved her, he doesn’t warm up to very many people but in just one day he was relaxed and enjoying his new friend. I am very happy to have found a caregiver for my special fur baby that is my whole world and I always want the best for him and Rita is the best. Thank you Rita for being a fur baby guru ;) ~ Kat”

About: As a lifelong dog lover and proud dog mom, I know every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs. What sets me apart is my experience caring for senior dogs and dogs with disabilities, which has taught me the importance of patience, attentiveness, and compassionate care. I’m comfortable administering extra support, moving at your pet’s pace, and paying close attention to the little details that help them feel safe and comfortable. Whether your dog loves long walks, gentle strolls, playtime, or simply having a calm companion nearby, I’ll tailor my care to what makes them happiest. I treat every pet like they’re part of my own family, keeping you updated with plenty of photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. My goal is simple: to make sure your pet feels loved, secure, and cared for, even when you can’t be there. I work from home, which means I can give your pup plenty of personalized attention throughout the day instead of just dropping in for the essentials. We typically start the morning with a neighborhood walk, followed by breakfast and some time to relax. In the afternoon, we’ll enjoy playtime, enrichment activities, or another potty break, depending on your dog’s energy level. Evenings include a trip to the park or another walk, dinner, and, of course, lots of cuddles before winding down for the night. I understand that every dog has their own routine, so I’m happy to adapt my schedule to match what they’re used to. My goal is to make your pet feel comfortable, loved, and right at home while you’re away. I believe the best pet care starts with maintaining the routine your dog already knows and loves. Before each booking, I take the time to learn about your pet’s schedule, feeding routine, exercise needs, medications, favorite activities, and any special instructions so they feel as comfortable as possible. When caring for pets in my home, I provide a calm, safe environment with plenty of supervision since I work from home. Your dog will enjoy regular walks, playtime, potty breaks, enrichment, and lots of affection throughout the day. I have experience caring for senior dogs and dogs with disabilities, so I’m comfortable adjusting activities and providing extra patience and support when needed. When caring for pets in your home, I treat your space with the same respect I would my own. I stick closely to your pet’s normal routine, keep their environment clean, and make sure they receive the attention, exercise, and companionship they’re used to. I’ll also send regular photo updates and messages so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, safe, and in good hands.
“Wendy has watched my dog prior to her Rover profile many times and is the absolute best! She keeps an eye on my pup and follows the care instructions i have for him, since he has a good amount of medical issues. Her dogs are a great perk to the stay as they are so friendly! Looking forward to booking again :)”

“Areli is simply the best! Nami loves getting to spend time with her. She is also super understanding and flexible with scheduling. My partner and I got stuck in some pretty bad traffic causing us to be late for her pickup but Areli was super understanding. 100% recommend”

“Atlas absolutely loved hanging out with Ceara! She was so accommodating with his needs and went above and beyond with making him feel comfortable. I wish I could give more than 5 stars - I absolutely recommend Ceara!”

“Nina was so helpful and sent many pictures of my doggies throughout the day! She was able to work with my schedule to do a meet and greet beforehand too. Very kind and thorough doggy sitter!”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Christina was absolutely amazing! She took our 9-week-old puppy on very short notice and made us feel completely at ease. She kept him safe, cared for him like he was her own, and even gave him some toys to take home, which was such a thoughtful surprise. We really appreciate how kind, reliable, and accommodating she was. We would definitely recommend Christina to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter, and we’ll absolutely be booking with her again.”

About: Hello everyone! My name is Angie, I'm a working entertainment professional and lover of all animals - especially dogs! I'm very passionate about making sure I give the best love and care to your fur baby. Currently, I don't have any pets, which allows me to be fully dedicated to providing one on one care so I can get to know your furry friends and adapt to each individual need so that they can feel comfortable, engaged, happy and safe. Communication is very important to me. Upon booking, I do require a brief meet and greet of some kind with you and your pet (in person is ideal, virtual is ok) so that we can talk in detail about your pet's needs, quirks, allergies and any kind of individualized care or attention they need before I take them into my care. In return, I'm very quick to respond most of the time to any questions or concerns and once our booking is confirmed, I'll send you tons of cute photo updates! 😁 I am COVID compliant, exercising social distancing and wearing masks if requested. Looking forward to meeting your furry family!! I work a hybrid work schedule most weeks so I'm home most of the week and for days I'm not, my partner is always home and available so your pet will rarely ever be alone. On the occasion no one is home (grocery runs) I can crate your pet if a crate is provided. I live in an apartment on the second floor - pets are allowed to sleep in my bed, on the couch, in their bed etc wherever they feel most safe and comfortable.
“We love Kieran and Marty! Kieran is always a great communicator and so sweet. Our dog is always in great hands & we always feel as ease when Kieran is taking care of our sweet Houdini. ❤️”

“Tara is amazing! She took great care of my 8 year old and my puppy. She sent the cutest photos and made me feel so comfortable as I’d never used daycare before. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking, the peace of mind was worth every penny spent!”

“Thank you so much, Omar. Rocket always has such a great experience with you and you’re always so hospitable. I’m glad that he got to play with the other dog and socialize. What a bonus. See you next time.”

About: Hi! I’m an experienced pet sitter with 12+ years of caring for dogs, cats, reptiles, fish, and small animals. I’ve also fostered both dogs and cats, giving me experience with pets of all ages, personalities, and care needs! Since I work from home, I have a flexible schedule and can provide plenty of attention, companionship, walks, playtime, and personalized care while you’re away. I’ll take lots of pictures, too! I’m especially comfortable with active pets thanks to my own well-trained 8-year-old Australian Shepherd, Nylo. Whether your pet needs lots of exercise or simply someone to keep them company, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for. I work from home and am self-employed, so I have a flexible schedule and can provide attentive care throughout your pet’s stay. Boarding rates cover a 24-hour period. For new clients, drop-off is available from 2:00 PM–8:00 PM so I can give your pet my full attention while they settle in. Returning clients may drop off anytime between 8:00 AM–8:00 PM. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. Since I work from home, your fur baby will receive plenty of attention throughout the day, and walks based on their energy level and routine. I live in a townhome with stairs, so this is important to note for pups that have mobility considerations. For low energy, senior, or special needs dogs, I also have a fully fenced outdoor area with both grass and concrete where they can safely enjoy fresh air and potty breaks without needing a long walk. I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, medications, exercise, and any special care they may need. If I need to step out for an hour or two, all dogs are separated into their own comfortable spaces to ensure a safe environment. I also provide regular photo and message updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
“I had my doubts at first because we saw other hosts with more reviews that would be the first logical option, however, I had a hunch about Vanessa and now I understand why. She is super sweet and Tiny even went back to say goodbye when we picked her up from Vanessa. If you are planning a nice day near Hollywood or Universal Studios, she should be your option. You won't regret it. We will book again with her again soon. Thanks, Vanessa!!!”

“My dogs adored their days Scott’s! They were very accommodating to get us in last minute while we were enjoying the local attractions. They were also very flexible on timing and made for a great situation for our family. Highly recommended!”

Megan is a life saver! She took my little monster for a week and a half--at her place, on short notice--and I came back to a happy, tuckered-out pup. Megan was flexible on timing, super communicative, and most importantly, clearly loves her time with dogs. Looking forward to future playdates.

Ceara was absolutely wonderful with us! She took such loving, attentive, and thoughtful care of Anko, playing with her so well and keeping us updated with sweet messages and photos. I could tell Anko completely trusted her and felt so safe and comfortable. Also, she was incredibly flexible with the schedule over the two days to accommodate us, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy our trip even more than planned. Ceara is genuinely kind and gentle, and I highly recommend her. We will definitely be back! ❤️🐾

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 7,675 sitters in Toluca Lake, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
