About: Jackson Galaxy unlocked the mystery of cat behavior for me and I've watched and rewatched his show on Animal Planet many times over the years. I recently had the opportunity to apply his techniques when I watched three cats and two dogs for a neighbor. One of the cats has a history of aggression but I tried the slow blink that Jackson teaches and the cat visibly relaxed. Yay! Watching Jackson I learned how important litter boxes are for cats - there need to be enough litter boxes (at least one more litter box than the number of cats), the litter boxes need to be kept clean, and they need to be kept in territorially important locations. I will make sure to keep litter boxes clean. I've also learned that cats need to hunt and many behaviors are because cats do not get enough interaction with toys. Cats need to hunt, catch, kill and this can be simulated by playing with the cat before feeding. If your cat needs this, I can accommodate. Another revelation from watching Jackson is that cats get overstimulated by full body pets and petting this way often triggers unwanted reactions. Instead, it is best to gently rub the side of the cheek with one finger. If your cat doesn't want to be pet, I am not going to force it. If they do approach, I will keep petting to cheek rubs unless the cat indicates they want something else.

We needed doggy day care while we visited Universal Studios, as our hotel didn’t allow dogs to be left unattended in the room. We road-tripped down from Seattle (with our 2 dogs & 2 kiddos) and camped along the way, which left us a little frazzled and haggard... Elena was very empathetic and caring, despite my lack of proper research, planning, and punctuality.. lol Probably should’ve looked into things a bit more in-depth about the hotel pet policy beforehand, but I am incredibly grateful that Elena was able to take the pups while we visited the parks for a couple days. She was very tolerant, observant, and nurturing with our two pets, and I think they had a great time… even though they aren’t the best-trained dogs. We have a 4-year-old sassy chihuahua-heeler mix, and a 1.25-year-old Malinois-cattle dog mix. They are sweet girls, but have a strange dynamic. Elena took them in stride and handled them with care, as if they were her own. 10/10!! Couldn’t have asked for a better pet-sitter in our time of need. Thank you so much, Elena!!”

About: Growing up, I had helped my uncle pet sitting a number of dogs he had for many years. After college, I worked at a horse barn working and training horses for English riding lessons from beginner to immediate riders. After I moved out of the house, my mom got her first dog, a large pit mix. I would often help take care of him every holiday I returned home to visit. Once I had settled in the LA area, I adopted my first dog a GSD Mix who I started working with similarly to the horses at the barn I worked at. People always tell me how impressed they are with how well-behaved my dog is thanks to my previous experience. I’m currently available full time for any and all pet sitting needs from long walks to short play dates. Weekends are a little harder for me but not impossible if needed. I have a one bedroom apartment. If the guest dog doesn’t get along with mine, I can keep the dogs in separate rooms and take them on individual walks. About: My Cairn Terriers (like Toto from Oz) hike Griffith and Runyon, chase squirrels, dig holes, play fetch at Weddington Park and take long walks. After a few folks moved out of town and others had kids which limited travel time, I’m opening up again. My preference would be to begin those same kind of long term care relationships with people who travel often or for larger lengths of time which allows your pup to feel as though they’re always going to a safe and familiar space with friends they know and love playing with. Working from home has allowed me to better care for my own senior pups and also gives me the freedom to spoil your loved one as well. My two friendly senior pups and I enjoy a gated back yard that still sees birds and squirrels enough to entertain them while being safe from any interactions. We have astroturf for back scratching and enjoying the sun, as well as a front yard, quiet cul de sac streets and a giant park for leisurely walks.
About: Been a dog owner all my life so I know how to read a dog's mood or figure out what it is they need. I have now been a rover sitter for 6 years and during my time have met and watched so many different breeds, each with their own quirks and needs. The well being of the dog in my care is the utmost importance. I love to play with them, give plenty of scratches and take them on nice walks in my neighborhood to make sure they're living a happy and healthy life. All pups are kept clean, fed and stress free while they’re here. I'm also almost always home and I live with my family so someone is always here just in case I need to leave the house. Our home is filled with huge animal lovers so your dog will have a good time and be treated just like family :) Honestly I just love dogs so much and know how nerve wracking/stressful it can be leaving your fur baby while you’re away so I make it my priority that they are safe and happy and taken care of so that when it’s time to pick them up they will feel like they were on their own lil vacation too! I work from home so I’m almost always here and can easily take the dogs out when they need or provide playtime but in the rare case that I do need to leave the house I either take the pups with me or a family member stays with them while I leave the house. I live in an apartment that’s pretty secure and closed off, I’ve never had any safety issues with the dogs. In the event that a pup runs out the door, the way my apartment is structured with locks and doors that would keep them from running out of the building

About: I’ve had experience caring for both dogs and cats, although mostly for dogs. I’ve done most of the basics including feeding, taking them to potty, walking, and occasionally bathing. Dogs I’ve cared for include smaller breeds such as jack russells and poodles, and some medium-large golden and labrador retrievers. I have a rambunctious 8-year-old golden retriever and cuddly tuxedo cat of my own. I’m currently working my healthcare day job on Mondays through Fridays, and probably would have the occasional weekday evening free to hang out with your fur baby. Best availability would be on the weekends for longer windows to provide care unless otherwise specified, but I do my best to be as flexible as I can. Depending on the client and the type of home setup they have, I would be able to keep your pup/kitty company inside with lots of cuddles (if they’ll allow them) or help release that energy outside with a walk or simply to give them space for the zoomies. Let me know what your pet loves, needs, and is used to, and I will provide to the best of my ability!

“We boarded our fur baby, Mano, with Tyler for two nights during our vacation. We were a bit concerned because Mano had never been boarded before and had diarrhea 4 days before the start of his boarding. However, Mano did one day of daycare to get to know Tyler earlier during the week, so we knew Tyler was a fantastic sitter. Throughout Mano's stay, Tyler gave us updates with the cutest photos of Mano and was very communicative, responsive, and accommodating. We requested change of the drop-off time due to a family member wanting to meet us at the resort earlier that morning, and Tyler had no problem changing the time one day before the drop-off. We were 23 minutes past the pickup time due to the valet forgetting our car and the insane traffic in SoCal. Tyler was so accommodating with all the uncertainties. We feed Mano homemade food in a special food bowl made for French Bulldogs. Tyler cleaned all of Mano's food containers and food bowl when sending him back to us. Tyler respects your pet's unique needs and routine, which is very important to us. He also takes the best photos of your fur baby. I really appreciate Tyler's calm personality and his ability to match Mano's energy level and needs. Mano can be a total couch potato (he is a Frenchie), but it was evident that Tyler took him out on plenty of walks. Mano came back with bigger calluses on his front paws, which meant he got plenty of exercise. We will definitely book with Tyler again.”
“Our chihuahua Bruiser had a great time with Jack, and we are so grateful to have found such a genuinely kind, caring, and gentle sitter! Bruiser is a senior dog who tends to feel shy and insecure around strangers – but it was obvious that he felt immediately comfortable and happy upon arrival at Jack's. He danced around and was very perky. :) Jack understood Bruiser's need for space as he adjusted to his new surroundings (lovely apartment by the way!), and Bruiser loved having a lap to sit on when he settled in. Jack also worked us in last minute, which is much appreciated (thank you again!), and we were excited to receive photo and video updates during our trip. Thank you so much Jack, from all of us!”

She told me about the dog rescue organization she created so she definitely will give your pup the care and attention they need. She also took my dog on pack walks and long hikes around Runyon Canyon! She has so much space on her fenced off property and the sweetest dogs of her own that all played well with my pup and helped keep him busy!
