About: Jackson Galaxy unlocked the mystery of cat behavior for me and I've watched and rewatched his show on Animal Planet many times over the years. I recently had the opportunity to apply his techniques when I watched three cats and two dogs for a neighbor. One of the cats has a history of aggression but I tried the slow blink that Jackson teaches and the cat visibly relaxed. Yay! Watching Jackson I learned how important litter boxes are for cats - there need to be enough litter boxes (at least one more litter box than the number of cats), the litter boxes need to be kept clean, and they need to be kept in territorially important locations. I will make sure to keep litter boxes clean. I've also learned that cats need to hunt and many behaviors are because cats do not get enough interaction with toys. Cats need to hunt, catch, kill and this can be simulated by playing with the cat before feeding. If your cat needs this, I can accommodate. Another revelation from watching Jackson is that cats get overstimulated by full body pets and petting this way often triggers unwanted reactions. Instead, it is best to gently rub the side of the cheek with one finger. If your cat doesn't want to be pet, I am not going to force it. If they do approach, I will keep petting to cheek rubs unless the cat indicates they want something else.

About: I grew up with cats and have lived with seven over all. I’m no stranger to medical care and know how to give insulin, special food needs, and other medications. I’ve also worked with cats who are aggressive so they are not an issue for me. I think it’s important to play and spend time with cats, so I’m happy to come over for a few hours to keep them company when not also house sitting.
About: I grew up loving cats. Big time. I grew up in the south, right on the outer banks of North Carolina so there was a lot of open land. I would often take in strays starting from a young age, and at one point ended up with 32 cats. I was maybe 8 years old at the time. I learned all about the care of outside cats, including the golden rule of spaying and neutering. As I got older and started college, I fostered kittens and cats in need (indoors) and rescued a cat of my own, Haven. She lived to a strong 13 years, and recently passed away this year. I have a lot of love to pour into cats and animals that need it. I believe that cats are special, in a way that only cat parents truly understand. They require a certain respect of their space, and all of them have their own individual needs and requirements. It takes time to earn their trust, and I think that's a beautiful thing. It means you have to have patience, which I have plenty of.

About: Hi I’m Queena! I have had fur babies of my own since as long as I can remember. Growing up with big dogs I’ve also gotten well versed in training and learning about them. I specialize in bigger breeds such as German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Akitas and Pit Bulls. Currently I have a special needs pup and he is my world, caring for him has opened me to many new experiences and hardships. I focus a lot on dietary nutrition and care as a sitter , especially for puppies and senior pups. Over the years I have participated in working dog training to further my knowledge in handling and protection in other breeds such Dobermans and other Bully breeds. Weekdays are preferred, open to weekends too but I’d need notice ahead of time. I can home-sit for up to a week. My off day is Wednesday. I can provide a safe and trusting relationship with your pup(s) when you are away. That includes hourly updates of pictures or videos, and a report at the end of the day. I understand how daunting and uneasy it could be to leave your fur children at home and in care of someone else, as I have also experienced this; I will communicate thoroughly with you to put an ease on your mind. Their daily necessities will be provided (of course!), and any special needs will be fulfilled and reported as well.

“Amazing care for our two pups!! Elena was super responsive and understanding, even for our last-minute request. We needed doggy day care while we visited Universal Studios, as our hotel didn’t allow dogs to be left unattended in the room. We road-tripped down from Seattle (with our 2 dogs & 2 kiddos) and camped along the way, which left us a little frazzled and haggard... Elena was very empathetic and caring, despite my lack of proper research, planning, and punctuality.. lol Probably should’ve looked into things a bit more in-depth about the hotel pet policy beforehand, but I am incredibly grateful that Elena was able to take the pups while we visited the parks for a couple days. She was very tolerant, observant, and nurturing with our two pets, and I think they had a great time… even though they aren’t the best-trained dogs. We have a 4-year-old sassy chihuahua-heeler mix, and a 1.25-year-old Malinois-cattle dog mix. They are sweet girls, but have a strange dynamic. Elena took them in stride and handled them with care, as if they were her own. 10/10!! Couldn’t have asked for a better pet-sitter in our time of need. Thank you so much, Elena!!”

His dew claw was unfortunately growing a bit too long and was causing him some pain, but Salim and Alexandra communicated it with me quickly, asked my preference of how I'd like to handle it, and got Sonic seen by my regular vet to take care of it all within about an hour. They were also super understanding when my return flight came in a bit later in the afternoon than expected due to unforeseen circumstances. “Alina was so wonderful. Our regular dogsitter had to cancel on us last minute. Alina came to the rescue and watched our dog for a 4 night stay. We were nervous to leave our senior dog (who has some special needs) with a brand new person. Usually we book an initial one-night stay with a sitter before doing anything more than 24 hours. It turns out we had nothing to be worried about. Alina checked in with us regularly and had very accurate descriptions of how our dog Bedu was settling in. By the end of her stay Bedu was in love. We brought home a very happy pup who was so well looked after, I can happily say she also had a little vacation herself. Alina’s residence is right next door to Petco, which was very convenient for us as we had forgotten to pack some supplies and stopped there on the way.”
