“Boba and I adore Noemi. She is by far one of the best pet sitters out there, and our #1 choice. She’s extremely caring and attentive to Boba’s need—which says a lot because he is a special needs dog, follows instructions well, asks clarifying questions when she needs to, communicates regularly, and is overall a very pleasant, respectful, trustworthy person. I highly recommend Noemi.”

“Casey was perfect! She stayed with my dog Cokie for a week while we were out of town and it was love at first sight. Despite her joyous reunion when we returned, she was still looking around for Casey, and slept in the bed she used for a few more days.”

“Cody was wonderful! He followed all of our specific house-sitting and pet care instructions perfectly. We really appreciated how attentive and respectful he was of our home, and he sent regular updates and photos so we always felt at ease. Our dog was clearly happy and well cared for when we returned. Highly recommend Cody — we’d absolutely book him again!”

“Bob is a truly dog whisperer and a dog lover! Peanut is very picky and can be really tough sometimes but they quite got a long pretty quick. Highly recommend! I will definitely rebook”

“Brigette was wonderful! She stayed at our house for a week and took great care of both our pups and our home. She kept us updated throughout our trip with regular messages and photos, which gave us great peace of mind and made us feel confident that our dogs were happy and well cared for. She also went above and beyond by washing the sheets and towels she used and leaving the house in great condition. It was so nice to come home to happy dogs and a clean house. We would absolutely book Brigette again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and caring sitter.”

“Another great sit with Hannah! She is so kind to our dear animals. A very conscientious housesitter. Didn’t have to worry about a thing while we were away.”

“I’ve been remiss at leaving a review as Michelle and Lisa have watched our doggos many times; house sitting and drop ins, for our two Labrador retrievers and sometimes also our golden retriever grandpuppy. They are both exceptional in their attentiveness and thoughtfulness and all our doggos love them. I couldn’t ask for anything more when my dogs are in their care. I appreciate them beyond measure. We’re so lucky we found them on Rover.”

“Viky was a really amazing house sitter for my cats! She was even able to clip their nails! I got many updates and she was really communicative. I will definitely be hiring her for house sitting in the future.”

About: I've had pets all my life. I've had dogs, cats, fish, and turtles. I've also cared for hamsters, rabbits, and guinea pigs before. I've walked, fed, bathed, house sat, and played with pets belonging to family and friends. Having had my own pets throughout my life, I know how precious furry friends are. I will tend to your pet with utmost care! I'm currently working on my master's so my schedule is inconsistent. However, if you need me to care for your pet at a specific time, please contact me and we can try to work something out! How I care for your pets will largely depend on your preferences as the owner. I want to get to know your pet's personality, preferences, and energy leveI. I would like a general schedule of feeding and bathroom times and instructions. In your home, I can play with your pet, sit next to them, cuddle with them, or go out for brief walks.
“Courtney is an outstanding dog professional, experienced, confident, reliable, honest, on time, and she has the greatest personality. We needed an experienced dog sitter & handler for our dog Chuck to sit for an entire day and evening at our house. Courtney turned out to be the perfect Rover-choice, in full agreement with her great reviews! Chuck is a three year old high energy working line sable German Shepherd police dog. He was born, raised, and trained in Germany. Courtney and Chuck quickly bonded. She quickly learned the few German commands needed for sitting and walking purpose. She also quickly learned about the personality and traits of a dog like Chuck from a write-up summary that we handed over. Courtney kept updating us during her sit, walk, play, and feeding. She also sent us pictures. Chuck clearly fell in love with Courtney. When she left he was whining and he did not want her to leave 😀. Courtney is simply the best of the best!”

“Yessica was amazing with Rigby! Quality time and lots of TLC. Took him on great walks and was super punctual and dependable. Extremely responsible and organized. Already booking her again!”

“I had Jacqueline stay with my baby Reggie over the weekend while I was out of town. I couldn’t recommend her enough. She really went above and beyond for Reggie with the questions she asked and long walks. Reggie also really seemed to like her and was comfortable. I also really trust her in my home while I’m gone. Highly recommend everyone book Jacqueline!”

“Bethany was FANTASTIC. She took such great care of our home and our Mickey while we were aware. He absolutely adored her and we knew he was in the best hands in her care. We returned home to our house just as we left it (if not better?) and can’t thank her enough. Would definitely recommend and we plan on rebooking in the future.”

“Lilit was wonderful. She was available at the last minute to housesit our dog, Molly. She easily befriended Molly, and made us all comfortable with her kindness and care. Molly had a great time, and we would highly recommend Lilit.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Montrose
Hannah did an excellent job with an 11-day house sit for our two dogs and cat. She provided daily updates and photos, and even some trouble shooting with an issue with our security system. Hannah is kind and responsible and we’d love to have her housesit for us again!

Lilit was absolutely amazing, she went above and beyond in taking care of Churro while we were on our Cruise. Lots of walks and loves shared in pictures during the week. I felt 100% confident in have her watch our baby and my home. I would definitely hire her again and highly recommend her if you are looking for someone dependable that will love your pet.

Julianna cared for my two schnauzers in my home for a week. I was so impressed by her care and attention to detail. My dogs can be yappy and excitable and Julianna’s kindness and calming presence enabled them to warm to her quickly. She played with my dogs regularly, provided them with love and attention and quickly became their favorite person! Julianna also thoughtfully inquired about my preference on the cadence of communication and provided me regular updates. This was the first time I had hired a housesitter for my pups, so it was very comforting to hear from her regularly. Further, my home is in an area populated by coyotes, and Julianna followed all of my safety instructions to keep my dogs safe from predators. Beyond the excellent care Julianna provided to my dogs, she also treated my home with incredible respect and left it in better condition than she found it. I trust Julianna with my dogs and my home and will book with her again. If you want someone warm, respectful, and professional you should book with her too. Thank you Julianna!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Montrose walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Montrose maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Montrose choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
